Most people who know the Enneagram focus on their type number. But new research suggests your survival instinct — self-preservation, social, or sexual — is actually the more useful tool for understanding your personal style. In this episode I break down what each enneagram instinct looks like in the wardrobe, what images you're drawn to reveal about your instinct, and how I use that information when working with women on their signature style. Let's connect! Have you found yourself in other style systems, but shopping and getting dressed still isn't easy? Schedule a Style System Synthesis call! The Supreme Court will soon rule in two significant cases that could have major implications for November’s midterm elections. Jan Wolfe of Reuters explains what’s at stake in each of the decisions. Plus, why the White House could soon drop the DOJ “anti-weaponization” fund, Hezbollah and Israel agreed to a partial ceasefire, and why the white picket fence is disappearing from American yards. Today’s episode was hosted by Gideon Resnick.

In this episode of Eat Sleep Wine Repeat, Janina sits down with Max Riedel of Riedel Glassware to explore one of the most debated topics in wine education and wine tasting: does the shape of a wine glass really change the way wine tastes? From the science behind bowl size, rim diameter and aroma delivery to grape-specific wine glasses, decanters and the evolution of modern wine styles, Max shares insights from the Riedel family's glassmaking tradition dating back to 1756. Together, they discuss how different wine regions, wine grapes and winemaking approaches influence glass design, why varieties such as Pinot Noir and Chardonnay require different shapes, and how wine lovers can improve their wine appreciation through simple tasting experiments. The conversation also explores decanting wine, collecting fine wine, memorable bottles, and the changing landscape of global wine culture. For this episode Burch takes audience with author, scientist, big wave surfer and powerhouse creative Easkey Britton. The two discuss how our relationship to water can shape our behaviours and actions, how it informs us, how it affects us and how it shapes our lives. It’s not at all a dense scientific shark chat, in fact it barely mentions sharks, but it's worth looking deeper into the shared space where humans and sharks find each other.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Photography Historian and Curator Audrey Sands joins PhotoWork with Sasha Wolf to discuss her book, Lisette Model: The Jazz Pictures (Eakins Press Foundation). Drawing on years of research, Sands presents Lisette Model's rarely seen archive of photographs of 1950s jazz legends, including Louis Armstrong, Billie Holiday, Duke Ellington, Percy Heath, Miles Davis, and Dizzy Gillespie. Sands and Wolf discuss the rise of fine art photography as a collectible medium in the latter half of the 20th century, the role of museums and institutions in shaping the narrative of photographic history, and the role of the historian in editing and interpreting an artist's work posthumously. https://harvardartmuseums.org/about/press-media/audrey-sands-appointed-associate-curator-of-photography-at-the-harvard-art-museums https://www.instagram.com/audreyleesands/ Audrey Sands is a historian of photography and curator who specializes in twentieth-century American photography.. She holds a Ph.D. and M.Phil. in the History of Art from Yale University, an M.St. in the History of Art and Visual Culture from the University of Oxford, and a B.A. in Art History from Barnard College. Since February 2025, Sands has served as the Richard L. Menschel Associate Curator of Photography at the Harvard Art Museums, where she oversees a collection of approximately 75,000 photographs and time-based media ranging from the early 19th century to the present. Her appointment followed a postdoctoral fellowship as Andrew W. Mellon Postdoctoral Curatorial Fellow in the Department of Photographs at the National Gallery of Art, Washington, D.C. (2022–25), during which she contributed to the exhibitions Gordon Parks: Camera Portraits from the Corcoran Collection (2024–25) and the multi-venue Photography and the Black Arts Movement, 1955–1985 (2025–26). Prior to the NGA, from 2019 to 2022, Sands held the Norton Family Assistant Curator of Photography position at the Center for Creative Photography (CCP), University of Arizona—a joint appointment with Phoenix Art Museum—where her exhibitions included Freedom Must Be Lived: Marion Palfi's America, 1940–1978 (2021–22) and Farewell Photography: The Hitachi Collection of Postwar Japanese Photographs, 1961–1989 (2022). Earlier curatorial positions include the Department of Photographs at The Museum of Modern Art, the National Gallery of Art, and the J. Paul Getty Museum. Sands has been the lead scholar on the work of photographer Lisette Model for over a decade, beginning with her Yale dissertation, “Lisette Model and the Inward Turn of Photographic Modernism.” Her most recent publication, Lisette Model: The Jazz Pictures (Eakins Press Foundation, 2025), realized a suppressed collaboration between Model and Langston Hughes that had been shelved during the McCarthy era, publishing for the first time nearly 200 of Model's approximately 1,500 jazz negatives alongside Hughes's original essay and new scholarship by Sands. Her ongoing research on flash photography—supported by a 2021 Curatorial Research Fellowship from the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts—is developing toward a publication and exhibition titled The Shape of Light: History, Ethics, and Aesthetics of Flash Photography.
Send us fan responses! Your life doesn't shift when you get “lucky” it shifts when your beliefs, words, and daily choices finally line up. I'm in Glendale with Bueli N'jheri, and we go deep on what manifestation looks like when you stop keeping it vague and start treating it like a practice you can measure. We connect quantum physics manifestation to real human wiring: neuroscience, negativity bias, and the way self-talk quietly sets your limits. Bueli breaks down why specificity matters (“get definite with the infinite”), why “want” and “try” can keep you stuck in lack, and how creation can be an act of worship. We also get honest about momentum: if you can't handle what you have now, more attention, more money, and more responsibility won't feel like a blessing, it'll feel like pressure. Then we bring it to the real world: privacy, trust structures, and why so many people get burned copying “game” without understanding the rules. We talk about how benefits traps and identity labels (fixed income, section eight, even fear of leveling up) can cause self-sabotage, and why learning to receive is part of building prosperity. You'll also hear about Bueli's books The Quanta and The Quanta 2.0, plus the audiobook created for the blind community.Tap in, share this with someone who's ready to upgrade their mindset and their systems, and leave a review if you want more conversations that bridge spirituality, strategy, and financial literacy#donkilam #privatelife #quantamhttps://donkilam.com FOLLOW THE YELLOW BRICK ROAD - DON KILAMGO GET HIS BOOK ON AMAZON NOW! https://www.amazon.com/Cant-Touch-This-Diplomatic-Immunity/dp/B09X1FXMNQ https://open.spotify.com/track/5QOUWyNahqcWvQ4WQAvwjj?autoplay=trueSupport the showhttps://donkilam.com
Support the showTo Share - Connect & Relate:Share Your Thoughts and Shape the Show! Truth Be Told with Booker Scott – America's impatience shapes military policy, and lost wars erode trust in sacrifice. The nation needs clearer standards for force, honest diplomacy, renewed civic duty, and leaders who choose substance over spectacle. Endurance, voting, education, faith, family, and country remain essential to preserving freedom before complacency costs everything for generations ahead...
You're listening to Voices of Your Village, and today we're talking about something I think so many of us are feeling right now: life is hard. And not in a “just think positive” kind of way-- In a real, full, sometimes overwhelming kind of way. In this episode, I'm joined by Dr. Rachel, and we're diving into how we can acknowledge that reality without getting stuck there. We talk about the difference between toxic positivity and actually supporting ourselves through hard moments, how our thoughts shape how we feel and what we do next, and why you don't have to overhaul your entire life to start feeling better. This conversation is really about coming back to what's actually in your control, building a toolbox that works for you, and taking one small, doable step at a time. Alright folks, let's dive in. Dr. David Friedman sits down with psychiatrist Dr. Drew Ramsey about “mental fitness,” the idea that mental health should be proactively strengthened like physical health rather than only treated during crises. Dr. Ramsey explains that lifestyle habits — especially nutrition, movement, sleep, self-awareness, connection, time in nature, and purpose — play a major role in brain health and emotional resilience. He emphasized that ultra-processed foods, social media overuse, poor sleep, and disconnection can harm mental well-being, while whole foods like seafood, leafy greens, nuts, beans, and fermented foods support brain function and reduce depression risk. They also explored the effects of cannabis, AI, and technology on mental health, with both doctors stressing the importance of authentic human connection, boundaries, critical thinking, and meaningful relationships in maintaining a healthy, resilient mind. Send us Fan MailIdolatry is one of those Bible words that can feel obvious until you try to use it carefully. We live far from Baal temples, yet we still talk about idols constantly and sometimes we label everything as an idol until the word loses its bite. Derek and Alastair slow down and rebuild the category from the ground up, starting where Scripture starts: the Ten Commandments, the golden calf, and the question of what it means to worship the true God rather than a controllable substitute.—Mere Fidelity is a podcast from Mere Orthodoxy and is listener-supported. Fredric Marshall spent decades helping companies including Apple, Pfizer, and Genentech solve problems in sales effectiveness, product launches, and organizational change. In this discussion, he explains why he views sales and leadership primarily as change management challenges: helping people move from where they are to where they want to be. The conversation centers on several practical ideas that shape long-term performance. Marshall argues that strong systems reduce stress because "the system is carrying the load, not you as a person or the team." He explains why high-performing people consistently invest in infrastructure, technology, and environments that remove friction and preserve attention for higher-value work. The episode also explores Marshall's "Super Eight" framework, which includes the neural net, biological health, relationships, systems, assets, and contribution. One of the central themes is that attention shapes outcomes. "Whatever you feed [neural nets], they get better at," he explains, arguing for greater discipline around information intake, habits, and social environments. Other insights from the discussion include: • Why emotionally intelligent and externally focused people often elevate entire organizations • How successful professionals balance initiative with responsiveness rather than operating in constant reaction mode • Why many entrepreneurs underestimate the value of their own time and capabilities • How journaling, repetition, and evidence gathering can gradually replace limiting beliefs • Why wealth creation often depends on investing simultaneously in productive assets and personal capability Marshall also shares research from his work studying top performers, identifying three recurring characteristics: action orientation, external focus, and the ability to question assumptions others accept too easily. The discussion is ultimately about building a life and career intentionally: curating what enters your attention, surrounding yourself with the right people, and constructing systems that support the future you are trying to create. Improvement efforts stall for reasons every CI practitioner knows by heart: unclear problem statements, missing data, inconsistent teams, rejected countermeasures. Anne Frewin argues those are symptoms. The root cause is the environment leaders create -- and Gallup's data backs her up: 70% of team engagement comes down to the manager. In this episode, recorded as part of the KaiNexus Continuous Improvement Webinar Series, Anne walks host Mark Graban through her LEAD model -- four leadership mindsets that build the psychological safety improvement work depends on. For each one, she offers a single behavior you can put to work right away:Leading with courage means talking about problems, not just making them visible -- moving teams from firefighting to "smelling the smoke." Embodying trust means going to Gemba with real curiosity: standing still, observing, listening to tone as much as words. Anchoring in clarity means communicating so it sticks -- frequent, visual, purposeful, two-way. Driving improvement means inviting ideas and letting people fix what bugs them, using three simple guardrails: Is it safe? Does everyone who needs to know, know? Can it be undone?Anne also makes the case for treating employees as a key stakeholder alongside owners and customers, and shows what changes when you do. Engaged organizations see 63% fewer safety incidents, 21% lower turnover, 32% fewer defects, and 23% higher profitability. The conversation continues into a wide-ranging Q&A on writing better problem statements, creating space for people to surface problems without fear, the limits of ROI thinking, and the hard work of coaching managers who rose through the ranks by being the boss.Anne Frewin is a speaker, coach, and facilitator, and the founder of Employee Centric Leadership LLC. In this episode of Golf Beneath the Surface, Chase and Raymond are joined by Dr. Pete Kadushin to explore how the stories we tell ourselves shape the way we perform. They unpack how beliefs, narratives, and past experiences can quietly create the “rules” golfers play by—rules about score, failure, swing mechanics, pressure, and what is or isn't possible. Pete explains why sport often acts as an amplifier, revealing the same patterns we bring into other high-meaning, high-uncertainty areas of life. The conversation dives into why golfers often chase swing fixes when the real issue is their relationship with discomfort, uncertainty, or heartbreak. They also discuss swing thoughts, when to make in-round adjustments, why one bad shot is not always a pattern, and how trust can create more freedom than constant correction. This is a great episode for golfers, coaches, and parents who want to better understand how mindset, narratives, and self-protection can either limit performance or open the door to growth.

In today's episode, we're diving into higher conscious parenting and the deeper understanding of how we shape our children's lives through our energy, actions, and the way we move through the world. Our children are constantly observing us. They learn far more from what we do than from what we say. They feel our energy, mirror our patterns, and often reflect back the things happening beneath the surface within us.In this episode, we talk about: How children reflect our energy and emotional state The importance of awareness in parenting When children begin developing their creator field and sense of self Why children observe and model behaviour more than they listen to words How unconscious patterns can be passed down Creating safety, connection, and awareness within the parent-child relationship This episode is about bringing more consciousness, compassion, and understanding into parenting—so we can begin raising children from awareness instead of unconscious programming

"When you have benign conditions, we're actually treating 3 gray, so a significant difference [versus doses of 60 gray for brain cancer]. Typically, when you treat at a high dose, the goal is to destroy tissue, like cancer tissue or cancer cells. But when we give a low dose, the goal is actually to modulate inflammation. And what it does is it slows down those inflammatory cells or those cells that release the chemicals that cause pain and inflammation," Amanda Meyer, DNP, APRN, CNP, family nurse practitioner in the Department of Radiation Oncology at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, told Jaime Weimer, MSN, RN, AGCNS-BS, AOCNS®, manager of oncology nursing practice at ONS, during a conversation about radiation therapy for noncancer indications. Highlights From This Episode "We always typically think of it as cancer treatment, but we can use radiation for noncancerous conditions, as well. And radiation was actually used for benign diseases right after the discovery of x-rays. By the 1920s it was used a lot for different types of musculoskeletal, dermatologic issues, and different types of inflammatory conditions. And over time, since the 1920s, we've actually really gotten a really good understanding of it." TS 1:37 "When we're looking at what are good candidate characteristics, we do typically like older patients, so patients over the age of 65. And the rationale behind that is we know that there is a potential for a secondary risk of a skin cancer about 20 to 30 years after getting low-dose radiation, like a basal cell or squamous cell skin cancer. The older the patient is, the less likely they are to have any adverse effects from that." TS 8:22 "When we do the low-dose radiation, they've tried other measures that haven't been successful. However, we don't want a patient who is so severe that they're ready for surgery, when they're bone on bone, because we know that radiation isn't as effective when they are that severe. So there's this sweet window where low-dose radiation works best in these patients." TS 9:39 "When we're treating with a little bit higher dose for like a Dupuytren's or a Ledderhose, because it's an anti-proliferative dose, those patients, they do get more skin redness, more dry skin. That's very temporary, and it resolves within a week or two after treatment. But really, we don't see any acute side effects. The long-term side effect of the radiation-induced malignancy, again, is a very low—0.05% according to some of the European guidelines." TS 12:34 "I really wish people appreciated how interdisciplinary this is. We need to get referrals from family medicine and from primary care and internal medicine and pain medicine physicians and inflammatory physicians and podiatry and pain specialists. And we really need to use this multidisciplinary approach to get earlier referrals for patients because there is this sweet window of time where low-dose radiation works the best." TS 18:40
In this episode, Peter sits down with Laura Matticucci from the Cardano Foundation and Nathaniel Acton from EMURGO to unpack the treasury proposals behind Cardano Summit 2026 in Singapore and Cardano's presence at TOKEN2049. Rather than arguing in the abstract, they walk through the specific community concerns: why treasury funding is being used after Voltaire, what EMURGO's decision to remove its 15% management fee changes, how milestone-based withdrawals work, and how the teams plan around ADA volatility while budgeting in USD.The conversation also gets into what these events are actually meant to deliver. That includes developer participation, builder exposure, enterprise and regulatory conversations, media reach, and the longer sales cycles that start at major events before they show up later as partnerships or integrations. Peter closes with a clear DRep call to action, arguing that Cardano should use its current momentum around infrastructure and institutional readiness instead of stepping back from high-signal global events.Key Takeaways:- Laura Matticucci and Nathaniel Acton argue that Cardano Summit 2026 and TOKEN2049 should be funded through the treasury because the ecosystem-wide event strategy now sits with decentralised governance after Voltaire.- EMURGO says it will waive the 15% management fee that had been included in the event proposal, reducing the cost to the treasury.- The guests say event budgets are planned in USD while treasury withdrawals happen in ADA across milestones, which creates treasury management risk but not a reduction in the intended sponsorship value.- Success is framed around KPIs such as developer turnout, builder participation, enterprise and regulatory meetings, media coverage, and partnerships that develop over a longer time horizon.- Peter argues that Cardano should not disappear from major industry events while critical integrations and institutional infrastructure are still coming online.- The interview highlights Singapore as a strategic Web3 hub and TOKEN2049 as a concentrated venue for decision-makers, investors, builders, and enterprise conversations.- The guests also confirm there have already been discussions around overlapping activity with Midnight, including hackathon tracks and event coordination.Links & References:- Cardano Foundation Activity and Financial Report 2025: https://link.learncardano.io/Xf5pJE- Cardano Foundation Activity and Financial Report 2025: https://link.learncardano.io/ngHWCn- Cardano Summit 2026 - Singapore | 5-6 October: https://link.learncardano.io/ERBuyW- TOKEN2049 | 7-8 October 2026 | Singapore: https://link.learncardano.io/T49v1I- https://link.learncardano.io/lRh3HE- https://link.learncardano.io/GrfcOI- https://link.learncardano.io/Mx5NHZWebsite: https://link.learncardano.io/bQ68RcX/Twitter: https://link.learncardano.io/3a1QtvDisclaimer: This content is for educational purposes only. People love giving advice—but most of the time, it doesn't actually change anyone's behavior. In fact, there's a much more effective way to influence people that works far better than telling them what they should do. https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC4675534/ Hormones influence nearly every aspect of your life, yet most people only have a vague understanding of what they actually do. These powerful chemical signals affect mood, stress, sleep, energy, appetite, weight, sex drive, and much more. And when hormones fall out of balance, the effects can ripple throughout the entire body. Dr. Saira Hameed, endocrinologist and author of Signals: The Hidden Power and Secret Language of Hormones (https://amzn.to/4eO37IB), explains how hormones work, why they matter so much, and what happens when this intricate signaling system goes wrong. Everyone makes mistakes—but some mistakes hit differently. A bad decision involving work, relationships, money, or reputation can feel overwhelming and difficult to move past. Michael Lynton understands this firsthand. As former CEO of Sony Entertainment, he approved a film that unexpectedly triggered an international crisis involving North Korea, cyberattacks, leaked emails, and worldwide controversy. In our conversation, he explains what he learned from that experience, why major mistakes can shake your identity so deeply, and how people can recover, grow, and even find meaning after things go terribly wrong. Adam, Joanna, and Zach discuss the quandary that faces the alcohol industry at the moment: people generally want to drink, but are drinking less than they used to. Isaac trembled violently after realizing he blessed the wrong son. He didn't reverse the blessing. He couldn't . . . That moment, super easy to read past, is actually one of the most theologically loaded scenes in the entire book of Genesis. Most of us read past the patriarchal blessings in Genesis the same way. The text doesn't slow down to explain them. Lamech names his son Noah, announces he'll bring relief from the curse on the ground, and the narrative moves on. Jacob gathers all twelve sons and speaks over each one (tribal territories, political trajectories, a coming ruler) and the story continues. We absorb it as family drama or ancient religious custom. We rarely stop to ask: How do these words actually work? That question opens up an under-examined corner of Genesis, and the answer has real implications for how we understand prophecy, the gifts of the Spirit, and the character of a God who never stopped speaking. In this episode, we'll discuss:- Why the patriarchal blessings in Genesis can't be explained as lucky guesses or shrewd fatherly observation- Why the "covenant authority" interpretation, that the patriarchs could speak things into existence by virtue of their office, is theologically dangerous- Why the most defensible interpretation is that the patriarchs were prophesying: instruments of divine revelation, voicing what God had already shown them- How Lamech's blessing (Genesis 5:28-29) functions as the hermeneutical template for every patriarchal blessing that follows- What the patriarchal period reveals about the cluster argument, and why a steady, continuous stream of prophetic activity through ordinary domestic moments challenges cessationist assumptionsThe God of Genesis isn't a God who shows up in dramatic bursts. He's a God who never stopped speaking, threading his voice from generation to generation long before anyone had a formal theology of what a prophet even was.
