I hope Season 2 gave you guys some insight into your journey’s and what you’re going through because we’re all connected and we all go through the same experiences but slightly different. My journey of self discovery has been about rediscovering who I am and what I am capable of. I’ve spent a lot of time learning and observing myself. I’d discovered a lot of who I thought I was, was just what others placed on me and I believed to be me. I’m at a point now where I feel like I'm in control of my life and understand myself more than I ever have. I hope what I shared in the podcast this season highlighted the different ways you can discover who you truly are and also made the hardships that come with it seem less daunting knowing we all go through them. Like I always say, we love our comfort zones, but life truly is about pushing past them and discovering new versions of ourselves. Without even planning it I ended up sharing with you guys how to have a successful mindset. Scratching the surface at least, because it all starts with US. I know without a doubt we all have it in us to be successful and abundant, not just materialistically but spiritually. I don’t think a lot of us grew up being taught just how limitless our potential is, but i’m here to show you how to discover your power and live a happier life. With all that being said I want to go over 4 successful mindsets that I hope I have encouraged others to have with a heart centered twist. It’s important to remember, if you’re heart centered and want to have a positive impact it will still be difficult. Everything will align as it is meant to, when we ourselves align as well. Mindset No. 1: Start, Then Finish Truly successful people are very careful about choosing what projects to work on. Their main focus is to follow through and finish what they start. You won’t see results or massive forward movement in your life and business if you never finish what you start. Mindset No. 2: Go for Growth Successful people focus on growth. A growth mindset arises from the belief that achieving success is about continuous, consistent improvement. If you focus on growth, you see success as a journey rather than a destination. This means you’re always open to learning and improving until you achieve your goals. Successful people are happy to keep trying until they get what they want. They’re willing to try all kinds of strategies and techniques because they know they’ll eventually get where they want to go. And they’re right. Mindset No. 3: Develop a Positive Inner Belief Check your negative beliefs at the door. Your beliefs influence your outer behaviors and actions, meaning you need to believe you can succeed before you actually do. When you have a strong will to succeed, you’ll naturally direct your focus toward solutions rather than problems. If your beliefs about yourself and your ability to hit your goals are negative, it’s almost impossible to achieve what you set out to do. Successful people avoid this pitfall because they can take forward actions that are consistent with their positive inner beliefs. They’re able to get up off the couch and take the right actions that help them become achievers. Mindset No. 4: Accept Yourself Successful people understand who they are. They know their goals and dreams inside out. They know their values, their skills and their abilities. They are also incredibly clear about their weaknesses. They don’t try to be amazing at everything and they don’t try to be someone they’re not. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app

How To Identify & Overcome Limiting Beliefs

Play Episode Listen Later Sep 21, 2020 36:21

What are limiting beliefs - A limiting belief is something you believe to be true that limits you in some way. They can be about you, other people and the world. When you age a list of rules that you should and shouldn’t do begin to be placed on you by your family, school, society. We begin to adopt these Brules (Bullshit rules) in order to simplify our understanding of the world) from the book Being Extraordinary is A Choice by Vishen Lakhiani CEO of Mind Valley The rules that are placed on us turn into Limiting Beliefs and hold us back from our full potential. Causes of Limiting Beliefs - Family Beliefs, Education, Experiences Family Beliefs - Just like us our family members have values and morals and from a young age they instill them in us. They begin to tell you how both you and the world should be based on their own beliefs, education and experience. It’s important to remember that most of what others believe to be true is due to experience and those experiences have emotions attached to them, which automatically make the experience bias. Education - because they’re in a position of authority and are constantly sharing information, ideas and beliefs about how the world works we are inclined to trust and believe that what they tell us is true. Experience - Every time we experience something we draw our own conclusion about what happened as well as an emotion that is tied to it. We especially remember and cling to negative experiences. I did x and y happened, so z must be true. How to Identify Limiting Beliefs - Time to assess yourself and use your self awareness to dig deep. Identify Your Beliefs - before you find your limiting beliefs you need to figure out what your general beliefs are in the following categories, finances, family, relationships and health Assess Your Behavior - If you look back on your toxic behaviors, you might find that the underlying cause is limiting beliefs. Example: I find this happens a lot in relationships. If you’re always going through the other person's phone, you possess the limiting belief that no one can be trusted. Write Down Areas Where You Feel Challenged - If you notice recurring challenges in a certain area of your life this could indicate a limiting belief. As you go through each challenge you have to make a note of which of your beliefs pertain to that challenge. If you’re always struggling to make enough money, uncover what you think about money and how accessible it is to you. How to Overcome Limiting Beliefs - Challenge your beliefs by becoming the best version of you. Below are ways to help your process. Change Your Habits - it’s not enough to just identify the limiting beliefs, you have to identify which habits keep you in that place/belief about yourself. If you change your habits, you proactively take yourself out of the belief. Explore More - limiting beliefs keep you closed minded. In order to break that you have to get out, do and see more. Talk to people you wouldn’t normally, travel and experience different types of beliefs from around the world or from friends who come from different backgrounds. Personal Development - Just like positive affirmations, you need to hear others speak in a positive light. You need to follow, read, listen to people who you aspire to become because it is possible you just have to put it in your radar by taking inspiration from others. The following patterns are indicators of limiting beliefs Perfectionism, Procrastination, Escapism, Scarcity, Self Doubt, Fear of Failure --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app

Mental Toughness

Play Episode Listen Later Sep 14, 2020 20:11

This episode is dedicated to Alex Zonio 11/13/88-9/14/2019 What is mental toughness & why do I think it’s so important to understand/have? Whenever you’re doing something and your first instinct is to give up there’s a part of you, that you know well, that keeps you in the comfort zone & holds you back, allows you to give up, but there’s also this part of you, that you may not know as well, that knows you can. Mental Toughness is digging deep for the part of you that knows you can and giving whatever you face your all, pushing past fear and comfort. Zonio would always tell us mental toughness and always root us on even if it was just beer pong. We thought a lot of it came from being in the army and literally having to have mental toughness and breaking barriers without question or choice. Back then it was funny and annoying at times, but now I understand why it was one of his life mottos. Having the will to push past your limits is what is needed in order to survive and most other times, to grow. We can only grow when we push past our perceived limits, our glass ceilings, our limiting beliefs, our log jams. Whatever you want to call it, growth is on the other side of doing something you’ve never done before. About a year and a half into my journey of self discovery I finally started to understand what limiting beliefs are and how much they can take a toll on our growth. A lot of us tend to not think much of ourselves, for many reasons, but through my journey I learned the only cheerleader that will be standing on the sidelines every time is YOU and you alone. You have to know what your fears are, what your beliefs about yourself are and where they come from and whether or not they’re really true or they are just that, beliefs. A lot of us have to see something in order to know it’s true and when you take a path less walked you don’t always have someone to turn to, you have to figure everything out yourself. It’s scary, it doesn’t make sense, but if you keep going you realize all you had to do was push, push past what you know and what you THINK you know. Fear of the unknown holds us back, but on the other side of fear is freedom. It’s not easy to get to, but mental toughness is the segway. Knowing you can push past your boundaries and that the only result will be growth. I want to close this out by saying mental toughness may sound machismo or masculine or insinuating that we should ignore our feelings, but that is never something I would promote. You should never ignore your feelings or push them aside or feel they are inferior. I wish I could tell Zonio that mental toughness can only get you so far during a rough time and it isn’t the answer to everything in life. I want to encourage anyone dealing with something they feel they cannot battle alone to reach out to someone whether it’s a friend/family or professional. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app

Success, Purpose & Values

September is National Suicide Awareness Month What is Purpose? Better yet, what is YOUR purpose? 1. Misconception about purpose & work having to coincide. Purpose doesn’t always have to be some huge, great thing, that everyone acknowledges you for. 2. Purpose is your WHY. At the end of it all, why do you do what you do? What do you do it for? Who do you do it for? 3. Purpose can change, but it more than likely has to do with helping others in some way and you can achieve your purpose every day in small acts. What are your Values? 1. Values are basic and fundamental beliefs that guide or motivate attitudes or actions. 2. What do you believe in and how does that drive you? My values are family, happiness & kindness. What is Success? (Through the world’s lens & through your own) 1. First you have to find out what you believe success is and then identify whether that’s your belief or the world’s (society, parents, friends) 2. Once you figure out that maybe your idea of success wasn’t yours after all, you have to dig deeper and find out what success means to you? I’m not here to give you the answer, but i’m here to give you insight on how to find out what it means. 3. The simple fact of the matter is success = happiness. What makes you happy? If you didn’t have any responsibilities in this world, what would you do that makes you happy? Figuring that out and going after it even though you have LIFE responsibilities truly is success. Bonus tip, even just TRYING to go after it = success. “Success means having the courage, the determination, and the will to become the person you believe you were meant to be.” Purpose, Values & Success are all related and intertwined and help you determine what will drive your life Why you need to understand what these things are and what they are for you before you make any changes in your life or leap to go after anything. They will be the core of why you do what you do, your driving force. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app

How Positive Mindfulness Can Help Change Your Mindset

Play Episode Listen Later Aug 31, 2020 25:10

Our minds are fertile grounds, so we have to be careful what we’re feeding them. Before we know it we will be stuck wondering what happened and how do we fix it? Luckily, once you know what makes you feel good you can always go back to it if you steer off track and it will put you back. I know most people will say they don’t have time, but that is NEVER an excuse. If you don’t currently have time, you need to make time for this. Time for yourself is beneficial for everything, it keeps you sane, it gives you clarity and it puts you in a better mood. Whether it’s a morning ritual, daily accountability acts or night time ritual, making time for yourself is a must. Most of us are working, scrolling, eating and sleeping without making any time to fill ourselves with positivity or quiet time. Today, I want to discuss the different ways you can feed your mind positively. Work Out/Movement - Your mind can only focus on one thing at a time, so if you workout you will be forced to be in the moment during that time. Being in the moment is extremely beneficial for getting us in the now, which is where we can always find the most peace. If you don’t like working out, go for a walk, do yoga, hike, DANCE like nobody's watching Gratitude/Affirmations - If you’re a person who claims you have no time for anything, at least make time for these two things which are quick and highly effective, especially over time. Every morning, set the tone of the day by being thankful, even if it’s for the simplest of things. Read/Learn - Carve out some time during your day to read or if you don’t want to read, try learning something new. This doesn’t have to be for a long period of time, but at least give yourself an hour to do this. Keep your mind busy doing something that will give back to yourself. Meditate - This one is SO important. With all the chaos going on in the outside world, it’s important to make some time for solitude for ourselves so we can align our inner world. We can create peace through meditation. I set aside 10 minutes a day to do this, preferably in the morning after my workout and before I go about checking emails and social media. Another thing I want to mention because I feel like it’s important in gaining peace and raising positivity in your life is to ignore whatever isn’t giving you peace of mind. The best tool is out of sight out of mind. It’s so simple yet so powerful. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app

How Letting Go Can Give Set You Free

Today’s episode is perfect timing of recording because it is a new moon. Now is the time to Let Go & make room for better. Our minds are so powerful and we have the choice to control them. It takes SO much work. You have to be mindful of your mind. If you don’t treat it good, it won’t do you any good. You can be your own worst enemy or your best friend. Tools Monitoring our thoughts - first we need to assess what is going on in our mind, what is consuming us? whenever you think about it, you have to revert your focus to something else, otherwise you will keep playing it over & over and never get out of it. Monitor our patterns - how do we act when we have these thoughts? Where does our mind go? How does our body feel? Feel it out physically - You have to feel everything out. Our minds and bodies need to release the energy we are creating. You have to have a release of some sort to begin to get the junk out. For body, I listened to my body, what were the physical signs for my discomfort. The mind and body are working together, but there can be a disconnect sometimes. Sometimes we think the two are always related but they aren’t. Allow yourself to witness the physical reactions. Talk it out mentally - I had to let out my thoughts or else they would continue to swirl around. The best way to let out your thoughts are by talking to someone you feel safe with, journaling, or simply talking to yourself outloud. Feel it out emotionally - Most of the time we need to have an emotional release to truly let the thoughts/negative emotions out. If we keep emotions inside of us they turn into physical symptoms. Find a safe space to let out your emotions and be vulnerable with yourself, we are human. The most important thing you need to know is, bad times don’t last forever. Faith will get you through, but you have to allow yourself to know that.

We love sharing our journey so much and want to make sure we are able to give you guys our best. In todays episode we go over Ego again more in depth and how it affected our lives personally. Ego keeps us in our old patterns, which keeps us comfortable. A lot of the patterns we play out come from our subconscious mind and are learned from a very young age. A lot of the negative low vibrational thoughts such as doubt, fear, envy, insecurity, etc. come from our Ego. Becoming more self aware and spiritual helped us realize how much we had to battle our ego to become our true selves. It's still an every day battle, but gaining clarity on what thoughts are ego and what are higher self helps us lead better lives. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app
