What happens when patience finally pays off?Sean Fries isn't just another name on a leaderboard. He's a senior out of Minnetonka High School — the newly crowned Minnesota state champion, Stanford commit, and the #2-ranked runner in the nation. Just yesterday, he won his first state title in 14:50 on grass, breaking the meet record and finally claiming the race that had eluded him for years. But what makes Sean's story special isn't the time, it's the journey. Missing NXN last fall. Swimming through an entire winter instead of doing the traditional grind. Learning that you don't have to be great at something to grow from it. And slowly, quietly, trusting that consistency would do its work.In this episode, we dig into the mindset behind his breakout year: how pain became perspective, how patience became power, and how staying true to himself led to the biggest win of his career.Tap in. Send us a text! (add your email to get a response)Little Helpers, this is a new era for this community: This is my first episode as the solo host of "A Little Help For Our Friends." It's Dr. Kibby and we're saying goodbye to my beloved co-host, Jacqueline Trumbull as she moves on from this podcast. This will be a new phase focused on what made this community matter from day one: centering caregivers, loved ones, people-pleasers, and supporters who carry the unseen weight of mental illness and addiction.I revisit the show's roots in evidence-based tools and how it grew into something braver—real stories about dating, divorce, near-death experiences, and the messy work of healing. I cover ethical storytelling, protecting privacy, and navigating the fallout when personal narratives collide with public platforms, including (gasp!) a legal threat. The heart of this episode explores identity and roles: how duos create chemistry and cages, how therapists are trained to be “non-persons,” and why an audience hungers for a human voice over a blank slate. I lay out where we're headed next—deep dives into secure attachment, nervous system regulation, family dynamics, and communication that actually works—alongside a slate of guests from neuroscience, therapy, and creative fields. Expect practical skills, warmer storytelling, and more of the full person behind the mic, from Berlin chapters to yoga studios to the moments that don't come packaged as lessons. This show remains the official podcast of KulaMind, a community made for loved ones who want connection, skills, and a place to be seen. In this episode, host Elizabeth Mintun talks about how to reconnect with that inner voice, cultivate self-trust, and act with alignment even when the mind is loud and life feels uncertain.Elizabeth shares a personal story of a time she faced a challenging decision and discovered how listening to her body, rather than just her mind, helped her find clarity. She also dives into common barriers to self-trust, the lessons hidden in fear, and an inspiring story from the Pancha Tantra - The Lion and the Rabbit - that illustrates the power of awareness, discernment, and courage.Key Takeaways:Doubt and fear are normal: Acting from alignment doesn't require certainty; it requires courage to honor your inner compass despite the uncertainty.Common barriers to self-trust:Overthinking and perfectionismFear of regret or being wrongSeeking external validationPast experiences or unresolved emotionsSelf-trust is a practice: Like a muscle, it grows with consistent, small actions. Stefan Baumann Podcast - Inspiration and Insights on Art and Painting
Online platforms like YouTube help by providing inspiration and connection, especially for those with limited local support. Personal challenges, including disabilities, can increase difficulties but also inspire resilience. The "four Bs" framework—Beliefs, Behaviors, Barriers, and Benefits—helps artists identify what maintains their block and develop solutions. Artist block is dangerous because it threatens creativity and career sustainability. Passion and a clear mission drive artists through tough times. Coaching and mentorship provide personalized strategies, goal-setting, and encouragement. When block arises, artists can take immediate steps: 1) pause to refresh, 2) engage in free creative play, 3) change environment or medium, 4) talk with peers or mentors, and 5) set very small goals. Keeping a public presence during block maintains visibility and motivation. Pressure to produce can inspire or overwhelm; managing it with realistic goals and self-care is key. Avoiding shows removes important deadlines and feedback, which may deepen block. To stay inspired, artists should seek new experiences, remain curious, and remember why they create. Common misconceptions are that block is failure, limited to unskilled artists, or fixed by waiting. Persistent block warrants professional help such as coaching or therapy.#ArtistBlock #SelfDoubt #Frustration #Procrastination #Motivation #ArtisticVoice #ExternalPressures #FearOfFailure #Perfectionism #AuthenticWork #Inspiration #Community #Mentors #ReframingThoughts #SmallGoals #Passion #RegularPractice #Feedback #Rest #Purpose #Confidence #Resilience #Coaching #CreativePlay #EnvironmentChange #PublicPresence #SelfCare #Curiosity #Therapy #CreativeFlowSupport the showFor more information go to www.StefanBaumann.com https://www.stefanbaumann.com/Free Book For painting, coaching call me on my phone at 415-606-9074
Our thoughts are real, but not always true. This episode invites listeners to look beyond the stories the mind creates and find freedom from worry, stress, and self-doubt. Through mindfulness and gentle awareness, it offers a path to calm and clarity in uncertain moments. Listeners are encouraged to trust that every thought can be met with curiosity and compassion, opening the way to inner peace, resilience, and a deeper sense of hope for what is possible. Poem: Our Thoughts Are Real, But Not Always True Our thoughts rise like waves on an endless sea, shaping the shore of who we think we are. They rush in, fierce and convincing, pulling us into stories of what might break, what might never come, what might already be lost. They feel real because they are. They move through the body, tighten the chest, quicken the breath, stir the storm. But truth lives somewhere quieter. It waits beneath the noise, in the still water that holds every wave. It asks nothing but a pause, a single breath, a question whispered to the mind: Is this thought true? The unknown is not our enemy. It is the open sky that can let every cloud of thought drift by. Calm is not something we find, but something we remember. In the space between belief and truth, there is peace. There is possibility. And there we can be, the sky, not the storm. Have you ever made a detailed plan to change everything at once, only to find yourself back where you started weeks later? Grand plans often look inspiring, but they rarely hold up in daily life. They demand more than what's realistic for the season you're in and leave no room for flexibility when life gets in the way. In this episode, I explore three key reasons why ambitious plans often fail and why starting small is the true key to sustainable change. You'll learn how perfectionism, impatience, and the belief that small steps mean weakness keep you in cycles of all-or-nothing effort. I'll share a simple, practical approach to goal-setting that helps you stay consistent and build trust with yourself over time. There is no limit to what we can achieve, but if we don't try, we'll never know. Remona has worked through my Design Your Life, Your Way Guidebook, and I am very curious to learn what she gained from those 30 days of soul-searching questions I asked her. Today, she has moved away from her technical career as she helps me with the administrative side of things, while she looks for work in the healthcare field as a customer service or patient representative. She has a husband of 11 years and a 10-year-old son, and the past two years have put her on a journey of self-discovery, healing, and reinvention. I have loved getting to know Remona throughout this journey as I have learned so much about her and her family, and what she values most. I look forward to seeing where she is at these days, as we haven't been able to connect much since her busy summer, and we have a special treat for you today because, for my 200th episode, Remona has agreed to go on a live coaching call with me. So let's lean in, cozy up, and get ready to listen to some real-life coaching!Throughout this episode, we unpack: readiness, staying in the past vs forward, the feelings of vulnerability, and what it feels like to "shake off your Spiderweb"At the end of the day, Remona has a goal of feeling like she is on a mountain, "meditating and levitating."Thank you, Remona, for being on our show. And for sharing such an impactful story.xx..Ready to ditch the frustration and step into a life of unstoppable clarity and confidence? Ever reach the end of the day and wonder where the hours went, only to realize you still haven't done what you set out to do? Maybe you got lost in emails, organizing, or helping others while your own priorities slipped away. This disconnect isn't about poor time management; it's a sign of two related challenges: time blindness and values blindness. Time blindness, common in people with ADHD but experienced by many, happens when your brain loses track of the passage of time. In this episode, I break down how both time and values blindness shape your attention, energy, and sense of alignment. You'll learn practical strategies to regain control using tools from executive functioning, including external reminders, task chunking, and reflection exercises. By noticing where your time and values are going, you can create a life that feels steady, aligned, and purposeful. What happens when years of striving, broken family patterns, and hidden wounds collide? For Endre Hoffmann, it led to the brink of losing everything: his marriage, his children, and himself. But in the darkest night of the soul, God began to rewrite his story.Known as the Doctor of Self-Worth, Endre shares how decades of rejection and inner turmoil gave way to revelation, healing, and a mission to help others discover their true worth. In this powerful conversation, we talk about:✔️ The dangers of defining yourself by past pain rather than God's truth.✔️ How rejection and father wounds can shape identity, and how God heals them.✔️ Why self-love is not selfish, but a reflection of God's image in us.✔️ The shift from religion to relationship and how that changes everything.✔️ Keys to breaking generational patterns and stepping into new legacy.Endre's story is a testimony of radical grace: a husband who chose to change, a father who refused to pass down brokenness, and a man who now helps others rise into their God-given identity. If you've ever battled with self-doubt, rejection, or the pressure to strive your way into worth, this episode will remind you of who you truly are: chosen, loved, and created for purpose.Learn more about Endre at doctorofselfworth.com Ready to rise in your own calling with clarity, confidence, and divine strategy?Book your Wisdom Consultation with Donna today: https://www.ivibrantliving.com/appointment-with-me-2/
In this episode, I want to share a story and framework that have helped me and many of the coaches I mentor break free from the mental loops that keep us stuck — fear, procrastination, and self-doubt. This idea is rooted in psychology, specifically Albert Bandura's concept of self-efficacy. If you've been waiting to feel “ready” before you act — in your fitness, business, or life — this episode is your reminder that readiness doesn't come first. Growth Through Acquisition: Lessons from Navy Veteran and Entrepreneur Gary MacDermidEntrepreneurship often requires both discipline and strategic vision, and few embody that combination like Gary MacDermid—a Navy veteran turned successful business acquirer, investor, and author. In a recent episode of The Thoughtful Entrepreneur, host Josh Elledge sat down with Gary to discuss his journey from military service to civilian business leadership, offering actionable strategies for veterans and entrepreneurs alike. This post distills key insights from the conversation, focusing on growth through acquisition, creative financing, and the importance of intentional goal-setting.Accelerating Growth Through Acquisition and Strategic Goal-SettingGary emphasizes that acquiring businesses—rather than relying solely on organic growth—can rapidly scale revenue, talent, and operational capacity. By identifying complementary businesses and overlaying high-value services, entrepreneurs can unlock immediate opportunities and enhance client value. Creative financing options, such as seller financing, SBA loans, and private investors, make acquisitions accessible even without deep upfront capital, allowing business owners to pursue strategic growth without overextending resources.Veterans, in particular, benefit from leveraging military discipline and intentional goal-setting, which Gary details in his book Set Your Own Goals or Someone Else Will. He recommends defining clear milestones, breaking down actionable steps, and seeking mentorship or peer accountability to navigate complex business decisions effectively. Beyond acquisition strategies, Gary stresses the importance of cultural integration and communication to ensure smooth transitions for both clients and staff, ensuring that growth is sustainable rather than just rapid. For all entrepreneurs, Gary underscores the value of overlaying high-ticket services on acquired businesses, continuously learning from new markets, and integrating processes that drive efficiency. Whether transitioning from military service or expanding an existing business, the principles of acquisition, strategic financing, and clear goal-setting serve as powerful levers to accelerate success.About Gary MacDermidGary MacDermid is a Navy veteran, investor, business acquirer, and author of Set Your Own Goals or Someone Else Will. In this episode, I sit down with Traci, a fellow twin mom whose story hits home for so many of us. From a complicated pregnancy and early delivery to the long, sleepless days of NICU life, Traci opens up about what it really felt like to raise twins when nothing went according to plan.We talk about those moments when people's “innocent” comments—about how hard it must be, or how they could never do it—end up feeding that quiet voice of self-doubt that so many twin parents carry. Traci shares how she learned to ask for help, even when it felt impossible, and why that simple act can be the difference between barely surviving and actually healing. This conversation reminded me how easy it is to feel alone as a twin parent, especially when everyone around you is parenting one baby at a time. But it also reminded me how powerful it is when we tell the truth—about the guilt, the exhaustion, and the fierce love that keeps us going.Whether you're still in the trenches of the early years or figuring out how to let your twins grow into their independence, this episode is your reminder that self-doubt doesn't mean you're failing—it means you care.EPISODE THEMES
Have you ever stayed in a job, relationship, or situation that's making you unhappy just because you've already invested so much time, money or effort into it? GIRL, SAME. And that's on sunk cost fallacy, one of the most common (and costly) psychological biases that can keep us trapped following paths that no longer serve us.Being able to change your mind and make better decisions is a major key to adulting, so in this episode, we're unpacking the psychology of sunk cost fallacy and how to finally stop letting past investments dictate your future decisions. I dive into how this bias impacts your career, relationships, and mindset, and the powerful mental shifts you can make to start choosing based on alignment — not avoidance.Just because you've spent a long time making a mistake doesn't mean you need to keep making it…. sometimes, cutting your losses can be an investment in your future self.Tune in for:

Ever feel like everything is spiraling out of control? Maybe you're running late, snapping at others, or watching a small setback feel like a catastrophe. These intense moments don't just come from what's happening on the surface; they're amplified by short-term stress that hijacks your perspective and makes you lose sight of what actually matters.
