Listen to all of LoM's mixes including his mashup Mega Mix series
Premiered at the first Lomathon, here is volume 16 in the Megamix series! As always, you can find me on Twitch.tv/lom564 for more live shows and events!
Another hour of mashups down! I really love showcasing these mixes live and the streams have been fantastic! Make sure to follow me on Twitch.tv/LOM564 so you can catch them first!
Dropped Volume 14 on the 14th as I turned 28, clever numbers. The premiere was amazing and I'm so excited to have a bunch of my own productions in here a long with a few from my friends. I feel like my production skills have finally started to reach the quality I wanted.
A combination of inspiration and extra time thanks to the quarantine lead to this mix being completed much faster than the usual schedule. We had a great release party on Twitch.tv/LoM564 where I broadcast my studio sessions regularly. Here's to hoping we will have a chance to dance with everyone again soon. Until then, we can still enjoy the music!
This mix was a demonstration of maintaining my work process. While most of the stylistic decisions did not change for this mix, I have been working to improve my craft on the back end for all the minor details. Also please protect your eyes and use care when if you have to stare at screens for as long as I do!
For volume 11 I decided to go back to my roots a bit and mix some good electro house. Now of course I added other styles to the mix, but there's something just so energizing about that 128 bpm to start things off.
I just had to do something special for volume 10 so I decided to do a very best of mix. The only problem was that I had too many pieces I wanted to fit into the mix so I ended up making it twice as long. Whoops.
Mixtape number 9...I remember struggling to get this one done. Creative block happens no matter what art you’re in. Important thing is to learn what you need in order to refresh the creative juices.
The eighth megamix found me streaming most of my studio sessions on twitch. I loved getting the instantaneous feedback from my viewers and their ideas were very helpful.
My seventh mixtape was a lot of fun to work on because I started teaming up with one of my friends who does video work to make some cool video mashups. I also have used this mix more than any other when I run. It’s really the perfect energy level for cardio.
Volume 06 was especially fun for me to make. A good friend took this mix with him while he sailed around the world with only three other guys. Takes new meaning to the title
Volume 05 dove a little deeper into the heavy trap and dubstep tracks while still maintaining the signature pop sampling.
Time for a real game changer. Volume 04 broke my one-mix-a-year streak. From then on I routinely released every 4 months until the release of volume 11. I had so much fun making it, even while trying to finish volume 03. The mix continued my move away from pure house into more future and trap styles.
Volume 03 was the first mix I made in Ableton. It was also the first mix that moved away from being completely composed of house music. There is also a video on Facebook with terrible sound quality when I streamed it from my phone, but more on that later.
Volume 02 came right after one of my favorite shows I've performed at and was heavily inspired by that setlist. Still sticking to my house and electro roots, this mix packed more song and more good vibes and turned the megamixes into a labor of love.
My very first megamix! This mix was originally the first radio mix I submitted while I was in college. It solidified my love for mixing and my skills have certainly improved since these days. Enjoy the trip down memory lane with me
