The episode opens with the usual Friday-night fanfare before you two tumble into a decidedly nerdy tangent about podcast intros. Daniel plays a clip from The Secret Podcast and marvels at how effortlessly polished their cold-open style is, which sparks a longer chat about pacing, structure, and the sometimes-chaotic charm of The Gay Mix. From there you wander into entertainment talk: theatrical productions, movies adapted for the stage, and Adam's deeply mixed feelings about Clue—a show he swears is equal parts murder mystery and organizational nightmare. The two of you trade jabs about Big Fatty's famously delayed opinions and riff on Broadway rules, seating, ticket pricing, and why certain shows hit differently depending on the venue. The middle of the episode drifts into broader cultural grumbling—late-night hosts finding their groove again, political exhaustion, and the emotional drag of constant news cycles. That sets Adam up perfectly to launch into The News Game, complete with his signature quizmaster energy as Daniel does his best to keep up. Afterward, listener interaction takes the spotlight with voicemails and comments that send you both down side-roads ranging from home maintenance to random show callbacks. The conversation stays loose and mischievous as ever, skimming everything from everyday annoyances to oddly specific pet peeves. The episode wraps with the Birthdays segment, delivering the week's celebrity milestones with Daniel's reliably encyclopedic flair and Adam's running commentary. You close things out with a touch of tech chatter and the usual comfortable banter, easing the landing after an hour of zig-zagging through culture, media, and listener shenanigans.Email: contact@MixMinusPodcast.comVoice/SMS: 707-613-3284

Keaton Henson is an English musician, composer, and visual artist known for his hauntingly emotional songs and fragile voice. Despite his success, Henson rarely performs live due to severe anxiety and stage fright, which has become a defining part of his story. His debut album Dear… (2010) brought him widespread acclaim for its raw honesty, followed by Birthdays (2013) and Kindly Now (2016), which cemented his reputation as one of Britain's most distinctive singer-songwriters. His orchestral work Six Lethargies was performed by the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra at the Barbican, and his album Monument (2020) was praised for its moving exploration of loss. Alongside his music, he is also a talented illustrator and poet, known for blending art and emotion in all his work. His latest album Parader is out on 21st November .Keaton Henson is our guest in episode 543 of My Time Capsule and chats to Michael Fenton Stevens about the five things he'd like to put in a time capsule; four he'd like to preserve and one he'd like to bury and never have to think about again .For Keaton Henson's videos, books, music and more, visit - https://keatonhenson.com .Keaton's music on Spotify - https://open.spotify.com/artist/6GFfu1alUSrL7qazImC160?si=pZINSBFvQcmjJY7qu4mKIg .Keaton's music on Apple Music - https://music.apple.com/us/artist/keaton-henson/318147460 .Follow Keaton Henson on Instagram: @keatonhenson .Follow My Time Capsule on Instagram: @mytimecapsulepodcast & Twitter/X & Facebook: @MyTCpod .Follow Michael Fenton Stevens on Twitter/X: @fentonstevens & Instagram @mikefentonstevens .Produced and edited by John Fenton-Stevens for Cast Off Productions .Music by Pass The Peas Music .Artwork by matthewboxall.com .This podcast is proud to be associated with the charity Viva! When Molly Pearson asked her father to fill out 75 birthday cards before he died, she didn't know it would become a project that would touch so many lives. In this conversation, Molly shares the story behind Birthdays from Beyond—a service born from anticipatory grief and a deep desire to keep meaningful connection alive. What began as a personal ritual between a daughter and her dad has grown into something much bigger: a way for people to reflect, remember, and stay present through love, storytelling, and intention. We talk about how different people have used these cards to process miscarriage, preserve family history, and reconnect with memories once thought lost. Molly also opens up about her evolving relationship with mortality, what it means to track your own path through life, and why we all deserve rituals that help grief feel a little less lonely.Resources & Ways to Connect Visit Birthdays from Beyond: https://www.birthdaysfrombeyond.com APOY Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/aplaceofyespodcast Heather's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/heathersstraughter Jake's Help from Heaven Website: http://jakeshelpfromheaven.org/ Jake's Help from Heaven Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/jakeshelp Jake's Help from Heaven Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/jakeshelpfromheaven Our YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/@aplaceofyespodcast

#197: Skip the grind, choose the pause. That was the heartbeat of turning 38, and it changed how the week unfolded. I front-loaded the chores, cleared the calendar, and took a true day off with my pup, a warm couch, and zero guilt—right alongside a thoughtful moment to honor Veterans Day and the people who serve. The weekend gathered friends from every chapter—childhood, college, and old workplaces—proving that when the right people mix, you don't need to force the vibe. We posted up at Providence Bar in Huntsville, a cozy, swanky spot that punches above its weight. Think wood-fired pizza with a legit gluten-free crust, attentive bartenders who actually listen, and a room that's balanced without leaning too masculine or too feminine. If you're local, book ahead; it's intimate and popular for a reason. We lingered, laughed, made one more stop to see a friend bartending, then called it a night—my kind of celebration.Between the cold front, surprise flurries, and the season shifting fast, I felt how fall invites a reset. That's the bigger theme here: creative work gets better when life has margin. Choosing rest isn't quitting; it's caring enough to return with energy and intention. So yes, this week is shorter by design. Next week, we're back in the groove with fresh recordings, including sessions with Meenu that many of you have asked for. Expect the same candid voice, practical insights, and a few surprises we've been saving. If this landed for you, follow the show, share it with a friend who needs permission to pause, and leave a quick review—it helps more than you know. What's your version of a perfect low-key reset? Tell me; I'm listening. You can now send us a text to ask a question or review the show. We would love to hear from you!
