Love, and right. When fake Christians parrot the words, "God is love," they mean, "God is love and does not judge." But the Bible explains, "Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth." That's in Paul's famous "love chapter," 1 Corinthians 13. So real love - "true love," as we've been discussing - not only distinguishes good from evil; it aligns itself with righteousness. What if your true calling isn't just about what you do from 9 to 5? Most of us tie our identity to our job titles, and while there's nothing wrong with finding meaning in our work, there's so much more to discover. Your vocation—your true calling—is about who you're becoming, not just what you're producing. It's about bringing beauty and nourishment into the world through the unique way you love, serve, and create. Instead of scrambling to protect what's ours or prove our worth through achievement, we can learn to receive life as a gift and share it generously. Whether you're a teacher, accountant, parent, or artist, your deepest purpose isn't defined by your resume—it's found in becoming the kind of person who creates peace, builds trust, and helps others flourish. That's a calling worth embracing, and it starts right where you are today.

Mark Skipper continues the good conversation all about Faces of Rebellion, his artistic mission to lend his voice to the climate crisis at hand. We talk everything from community-building rallies and protests to how he sees himself as an artist in this world to the people who have inspired him to make the change he wants to see. We learned so much speaking with Mark and here's one of the most important parts: every single one of us has something to give and that something we each give uplifts others, makes us all feel a little less alone, and creates the much-needed community we all definitely want so much more of. This is part two of our oh-so-good conversation - be sure to go back one episode to hear the first part before listening (no spoilers!). ______________________________ Steve is busy at work on the third book in his cozy mystery series, THE DOG WALKING DETECTIVES. We're all on a journey to build relationships that stand on solid ground. When Christ's love becomes our guiding light, it creates a shared identity that brings us together, encouraging us to show up authentically. While our faith journey is deeply personal, it ripples outward into our communities. The grace we've received comes with responsibility—we're called to share it freely with others. There's something profoundly beautiful about living peacefully with one another. When we offer ourselves as a gift, inviting others into our lives and creating space to connect on this foundation of grace, we breathe value into each other. This exchange of love requires trust, but it opens the door to an experience of peace that transforms how we see ourselves and those around us.
Mark Skipper is equal parts talented artist and climate activist. And just how is he bridging those two passions together? Through his project, Faces of Rebellion, where he sits down with people making a difference in the world to not just sketch and draw them, but also to connect with them and share their stories. Literally, he combines their likeness with their mission, all on one glorious single piece of paper. We chat about where he finds his inspiration, how art has always had a profound effect on him, and how every single one of us can make change happen, and in turn, make the planet a better place, simply by using our individual talent, whatever it may be. If you question whether you can make a difference, you very well may find the answer in this oh-so-good conversation (spoiler alert: you can choose to make change happen anytime you want, exactly where you are - it really is that simple). This is part one of our conversation. ________________________________ Steve is busy at work on the third book in his cozy mystery series, THE DOG WALKING DETECTIVES. In the depths of our restless souls, we constantly seek a foundation that can withstand life's turbulent storms. True inner peace is not found in temporary substitutes or external achievements, but in the transformative grace of divine forgiveness. When we surrender our struggles and embrace God's unconditional love, we discover a profound sense of freedom that transcends mere relief. This peace becomes our anchor, allowing us to stand firm amid life's challenges, filling the void we've long tried to numb or escape. It's in this sacred connection that we find our true worth—not through our own efforts, but through the merciful embrace of a love that renews, restores, and ultimately sets us completely free.
If we just skipped ahead to the good parts, what would we miss along the way?

There's a profound peace available that many of us overlook. When we understand that being at peace with God forms the foundation for all other peace in our lives, everything begins to shift. It's unbelievably good to rest in this relationship—not constantly striving to earn forgiveness, but simply accepting it as the gift it is. This isn't about maintaining a perfect record or making endless promises we can't keep. Rather, it's about daily dependence on a love that gives freely. The beautiful reality is that in Christ, we've been reconciled and made right with God. This peace doesn't require perfection from us but invites us into a way of living where faith becomes more than mental agreement—it becomes trust that empowers us to take steps forward, even when uncertain.
The Gospel invites us into a remarkable story—not of easy comfort, but profound transformation. Through Jesus Christ, we discover a hope that mends our broken relationship with God and offers healing for everything else. Rather than retreating into our isolated circles when challenges arise, we're called to live differently. Together, we can create flourishing communities through cooperation rather than competition. By following Jesus' way, seeing the world through His eyes, and joining His redemptive work, we participate in restoring all things. This journey isn't always easy, but it leads to a life richer and more meaningful than we could imagine on our own.

Send us a textIn this episode, we explore the profound and often misunderstood narrative of the rich young ruler from Mark 10. This compelling dialogue between a wealthy young man and Jesus raises crucial questions about wealth, morality, and the essence of eternal life. As the ruler approaches Jesus in desperation, asking the pivotal question, "What must I do to inherit eternal life?", we unpack the layers of this encounter, analyzing the deeper implications of his request and Jesus' challenging response. The rich young ruler embodies a universal struggle that echoes through time—the tension between material wealth and spiritual fulfillment. Despite his moral adherence to the commandments, he is confronted by Jesus to relinquish his possessions and follow Him, highlighting the significant spiritual barriers wealth can create in our journey of faith.
