In 1936-1938 interviews with former slaves were collected under the Federal Writer's Project. Philly native, Shav'on Smith, has been producing a stage play where actors are reciting the actual accounts of slave narratives. About 95% of the cast are Christian actors and actresses who tell the story of enslavement, faith, and freedom. The play is a must see for all ages. ItsCeeWrites, poet and author, was led to Lyrical Cafe in 2018 in an unusual way...she thought it was a BYOB event (that's right Bring Your Own Bottle).  She tells the story of how God met her right where she was at and led her to Lyrical Cafe.  She had no idea that in her non-sober state, she would find herself at an open mic for Christian artists.

How do we deal with heartbreak and relationship gone sour as Christians? Vintage Sings is a television producer and singer songwriter based in Los Angeles and born in Philly and recently released a new single, "I Woke Up" which talks about how she learned to let go and embrace Christ after a relationship ended.
