Have you ever been down to your last? You didn't know where the next dollar was coming from. If that is where you are today — this message was prepared for you.In 1 Kings 17, a widow was preparing the very last meal for herself and her son. A handful of flour. A little oil. She was convinced it was the end. Then God sent a prophet to her door — and everything changed. The barrel did not run out. The oil did not fail. MANY DAYS. God did not just meet her need — He sustained her through an entire season of famine. No matter how little you have and no matter how desperate it looks — God will PROVIDE.

The post Genesis: God Will Provide appeared first on Redemption's Hill Church.
Mark chapter 16. We're going to start with the traditional Easter text this morning, but the plan is to look back through the Bible to see how all of these dots connect. And as we look to the reading of God's Word, if you join with me in prayer. Blessed are you, Holy God, in Jesus Christ. Your light shines in the darkness, and the darkness cannot overcome it. Blessed are you, God of light, Shine in our lives with
The sermon centers on Genesis 22, highlighting Abraham's faith amid the profound test of sacrificing his son Isaac, which reveals God's character as Jehovah Jireh—The Lord Will Provide. Through Abraham's silent obedience and unwavering trust, even in the face of apparent contradiction between God's promise and command, the passage underscores the reality of faith that anticipates resurrection and divine provision. The narrative points forward to Christ, the ultimate substitute whose sacrifice on Mount Moriah—later Calvary—fulfills God's covenant promises, demonstrating that God's provision is not merely material but redemptive, rooted in the cross. The preacher emphasizes that believers today live in the tension between promise and fulfillment, enduring trials while trusting in a God who has already proven His faithfulness in Christ, even when His ways remain hidden. Ultimately, the sermon calls the audience to persevere in faith, knowing that one day, all things will be made clear, and we will see, as Abraham did, that God has always provided.

He Is Series Day #5 Jehovah Jireh (God Will Provide) Genesis 22:14 “So Abraham called that place ‘The Lord will provide'; and to this day it is said, ‘On the mountain of the Lord it will be provided.'” God asked Abraham to offer Isaac, his only son—the son God had promised Abraham and Sarah would have even though Abraham was about 100 and Sarah about 90. God had said, “It is through Isaac that your offspring will be reckoned.” Yet now God was asking Abraham to sacrifice Isaac. This must have been very confusing. Let me read Genesis 22:1–19. Some time later God tested Abraham. He said, “Abraham!” “Here I am,” he replied. Then God said, “Take your son, your only son, whom you love—Isaac—and go to the region of Moriah. Sacrifice him there as a burnt offering on a mountain I will show you.” Early the next morning Abraham set out with two servants and his son Isaac. On the third day he saw the place in the distance. He said to the servants, “Stay here with the donkey while the boy and I go over there. We will worship and then we will come back to you.” Abraham placed the wood on Isaac and carried the fire and knife himself. As they walked together Isaac said, “Father, we have the fire and the wood, but where is the lamb for the burnt offering?” Abraham answered, “God himself will provide the lamb for the burnt offering, my son.” When they reached the place God had shown him, Abraham built an altar, arranged the wood, and placed Isaac on it. He reached out his hand to sacrifice his son, but the angel of the Lord called from heaven, “Abraham! Abraham! Do not lay a hand on the boy. Now I know that you fear God, because you have not withheld your only son.” Abraham looked up and saw a ram caught in a thicket. He sacrificed it instead of his son. So Abraham called that place “The Lord Will Provide.” The angel of the Lord called to Abraham again and declared that because of his obedience God would bless him and make his descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and the sand on the seashore. Then Abraham returned to his servants and they went back to Beersheba. I know that was a lot to read, but it is important because we all may face times of testing. Has God ever asked you to do something you didn't understand? Something that seemed to contradict what you thought He had already promised? God told Abraham He would build a nation through Isaac, yet then asked him to sacrifice Isaac. Still, Abraham told his son, “God himself will provide the lamb.” He had faith even though he didn't know what would happen on that mountain. We also see his faith in Genesis 22:5 when he tells the servants, “We will come back to you.” He didn't say I will come back—he said we. How could Abraham be so confident? I think it was for two reasons. First, Abraham truly knew God. He had a close relationship with Him and knew His character. Second, Abraham knew God always keeps His promises. If God said Abraham's descendants would come through Isaac, then Abraham trusted that God would somehow make that happen. This story reminds us that God will provide even when we cannot see how. Abraham didn't understand how Isaac could be sacrificed and still be part of God's promise, but he trusted God anyway. The same can be true for us. We don't have to understand the plan—we simply have to obey what God is asking us to do and trust Him with the rest. What if we looked at the challenges in our lives as tests of faith? Would it change how we respond? Hebrews 11:1 says, “Faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.” Can we hold onto hope even when we cannot see the way forward? Hope is not always easy. But what is the alternative? Do we stop hoping so we won't be disappointed? For me, I choose hope—even when it hurts. What if this is the test? What if God only needed me to trust Him one more day? Abraham kept his faith all the way up the mountain. You can too. I know it can be painful when we hope for something and it doesn't happen. I prayed for my friend Iris to be healed from cancer here on earth, yet God healed her in heaven. I prayed for another miracle that didn't come the way I hoped. But I have also seen many times when God did come through—when I had confidence in what I hoped for and assurance in what I could not see. God has worked miracles in ways I may never fully understand. When you struggle to have hope, look to Abraham. When things don't make sense and seem impossible, trust God anyway. God is for you, not against you. He can make a way. Nothing is impossible for Him. Move forward in faith. Dear Jehovah Jireh, please bless everyone listening today. Help us to have the faith of Abraham. Help us to know you deeply and to trust the lives of our loved ones in your hands. Give us the strength and courage to say yes when you ask us to do things we do not understand. We know you are good and that you are for us, not against us. Help us to keep hoping, even when it is hard. Thank you for all you provide. We ask this according to your will and in Jesus' holy name, Amen. Thank you for joining me on this journey to walk boldly with Jesus. I look forward to seeing you again tomorrow. Remember, Jesus loves you just as you are—and so do I! Our relationship with Jesus is the source of strength, wisdom, patience, and power we need to serve God, help others, and meet the challenges of today. Main Points:1. In myself, I recognize my limitations. I am not talented enough, smart enough, creative enough, and I am certainly not strong enough to be what God wants me to be. But I have to recognize that God is not asking me to be all those by myself. He promised that he would be my provider. He would give me everything I need.2. In every situation, God has given us everything we need to serve and honor Him.3. The enemy of your soul wants you to believe that you can never be who God desires you to be. Hear this truth: the devil is a liar. Combat his lies with the truth of God's Word. Remember, God's divine power gives us everything we need for a godly life through our relationship with Him. Today's Scripture Verses:2 Peter 1:3 - “His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness.”John 15:5 - “He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.”Romans 8:37 - “in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.”Quick Links:Donate to support this podcastLeave a review on Apple PodcastsGet a copy of The 5 Minute Discipleship JournalConnect on SocialJoin The 5 Minute Discipleship Facebook Group

Show Notes — Joyce MeyerGod Will Provide Exactly What You Need to Fulfill Your PurposeWebsite: https://allanlondon.comIn this encouraging message, Joyce Meyer reminds us that God never assigns a purpose without also providing what is necessary to fulfill it. His provision is intentional and timely—strength for today, wisdom for the moment, and grace for each step forward. We are called to walk by faith, remain obedient, and trust that God supplies what we need as we need it, not all at once. When we stay aligned with His will, lack does not disqualify us—faith positions us for provision.

God looks after His children. There are so many examples of this. Manna from heaven. Water from rock. In today's text, God will use ravens to bring Elijah food. Then, He will then use Elijah to bring a widow hope. The God who provided for them will look after you. Questions That We'll Answer: A) What is the context of 1 Kings 17? B) Why was Elijah hiding from Ahab and Jezebel? C) What can we learn from the Widow of Zarephath? Speaker: Dr. Toby Holt

Sudden or even long-term setbacks in our lives can disorient us, impairing our decision-making. Circumstances beyond our control leave us where we can't focus, and we can't see what's behind our difficulties. It's then that we can't make good decisions. If we don't know if our problems are caused by emotional, mental, or physical challenges, we can't see our way out of the forest. Identifying the source helps us settle into God's perfect peace, and He's given us the ability to make good choices when dealing with issues beyond our control. 1 Corinthians 10:13 says, “No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability. But with the temptation, he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.” You hear that—God will provide, and you can endure. Let's pray. Lord, in our imperfect state, our bodies sometimes fail us. We don't know if up is down or which direction to go. In those moments, bring to our minds the knowledge that we can seek your good solutions, whether it be medical, or psychological. It's then we can find ourselves set on the right path to health and wholeness. In Jesus' name, amen. Change your shirt, and you can change the world! Have you ever said, “God will provide,” when what you were really doing was avoiding something God asked you to step into—like selling, charging, or looking at your numbers? In this episode, we'll unpack why so many Christian women confuse faith with avoidance—and how to move from waiting for provision to walking in obedience with God.

Today's speaker is Garrett Kell, Pastor of Del Ray Baptist Church in Alexandria, VA. Pastor Kell encourages us with a message about Elijah from 1 Kings 17, in which he reminds us that our faithful God cares for His children.
Scriptures + Notes Ephesians 2:10 (AMPC): "For we are God's [own] handiwork (His workmanship), recreated in Christ Jesus, [born anew] that we may do those good works which God predestined (planned beforehand) for us [taking paths which He prepared ahead of time], that we should walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us to live]." Philippians 2:13 For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him. Ready to experience more Increase in your life? ⬇️⬇️⬇️
