A synth 'improvisation' on maxmsp, played in the room, recorded by a geophone attached to the window...
More experiments with maxmsp to prepare for my forest concert... Developing an 'analog' synth in maxmsp, and using 'cellulose' sounds, IE, sounds made of wood things, as 'percussion'; and, finally, using the poetry of Inger Christensen as basis for the melodic parts.
This is music, that I suppose mycelium would love. Based on cellulose IE sounds from branches, leaves, fruits, seeds, etc., that are the things mycelium feed on. When doing my outdoor mycelium concerts, this is the basic soundscape I'll 'feed' to the environment, thus creating a fertile ground (literally) for the mycelium to engage in a fair trade - cellulose (sound) for bioelectricity (used in my eurorack modular setup via Scion Instruo, to give the mycelium a voice)

The sense of Austrian author Thomas Bernhard's writing mixed with some residues from dreams...
This purely electronic piece is based on a row of the first 196 PRIME NUMBERS. What you hear as melody, rhythm and timbre is based on relations between primes. This is my second output from from my experiments, here is the first: https://soundcloud.com/chcordes/prime-musik This time, I have added a third, lower voice; I have added pauses, and each time there is a pause in a note sequence, you hear a fourth voice, a short, funny sound. Curious what numbers are at play? Watch here: https://youtu.be/I7rsySJgLJQ
This is a purely electronic piece based entirely on PRIME NUMBERS. It's based on the first 196 prime numbers, and both rhytm, melodi and sound (frequency modulation) is based on this series of primes. There are two voices, one rhytmically delayed SEVEN STEPS in the prime sequence from the other. The two voices are based on the same principles, IE, primes are their basis, but moved one step in the sequence... The rhythms calculated as the difference between one prime and the next, and this difference is multiplied by a factor (also a prime), thus creating a sequence of notes, with the relative distance 1 (3-2) 2 (5-3) 2 (7-5) 4, 8, 4, 6, etc. Since the primes are spaced more and more out, the larger they get (except from the socalled TWIN PRIMES), the rhythm will be experienced as slower and slower... There are melodic patterns that seem to repeat...
do you ask the leaf for an explanation why it moves left then right then up down whirl a movement that can be heard or not heard just stating the occurence of an event not expecting it to make sense in the way you expect an action directed towards you to make sense but the way a leaf makes sense when it moves left right then up down in the wind sometimes resulting in a sound sometimes not
motor movements like the wind blowing not manifesting as sound unless meeting resistance in leafs grass high voltage lines movement manifesting as sound Watch the music video here: https://youtu.be/_EZFR25X7Y4

Eyes closed, no planning, total improvisation, no editing.
Eyes closed, no planning, total improvisation, no editing. I used this impro for my composition for Saxophone Quartet "When will this change"
This piano improvisation is recorded with the Røde M5 MP dual set, using iD14 as audio interface. The mics were placed approx 10-15 cm from the hammers of my upright piano (top parts removed)... I have done NO EDITING, except from hard limiting and adjusting amplitude. Please listen and give me feedback on the sound, thanks!!!!!
