Hey listeners! Thanks for coming back to listen again to the Milkweed Musings podcast. Today I have a big announcement! We've planted a community herbal garden! How cool is that!? There are veggies there too. So when you come by to get your tomatoes for dinner, you can grab some basil too! And oregano, and peppermint, and chives, and rosemary, and Thyme! The garden is located in Brantford, Ontario on a friend's front lawn through a company called Equal Ground. They organize hundreds of community gardens across the city. When the garden is linked on the website, I'll be able to post the exact location. Feeling grateful for the community connections involved in a community garden. Growing and eating healthy, fresh food together! Oh the possibilities. Goals for a community herbal garden: to educate the community on the medicinal effects of common culinary herbs; to provide recipes for culinary and medicinal inspiration; to connect with others. Today's episode features some details about Thyme - which you can find in the garden! Thanks for listening! As always - shout out to @chicorynikki for the invigorating intro and outro music. Talk to you next Wednesday!

Every couple of weeks I'll be releasing a new Plant Spirit Postcard which showcases a certain plant or herb. Ali Schilter from @fuzzyferns tattoo studio has done some incredible drawings of these herbs - so you get this beautiful graphic of each herb along with the info and inspiration you need to dive deep into the energetics of each plant. Shoutouts to all the folks who responded to last week's episode! Much love. Also shoutouts to @cc_jillian and @cc_laurenb on Instagram who run the lovely Conscious Coaching business and Podcast - check out their work! You won't be disappointed. Shout out to my dear friend and consultant @spilltheteasocial on Facebook and Instagram for all the incredible advice and guidance through the launch of my business. She knows her s*** folks! (social media s*** to be exact). Check out her profile NOW! :) On today's episode, we look at the relationship between poisons and antidotes. There are several examples in nature of plants that are poisonous to humans which grow very closely to the plants that are the antidotes to those exact poisons. We go through a few examples in this episode. I ask for your thoughts and musings and real life examples where nature provided the plant that you needed, whether that be an antidote, a remedy, or a survival need. **CORRECTION** Please note that I made an error when talking about Jewelweed - I specifically spoke of the species Impatiens pallida but I do need to add the species Impatiens capensis as they are both applicable here as the antidote to poison ivy. My apologies! We then dive into the "woo" side of this title statement - Nature provides. We talk about the pandemic situation and how nature is providing us with so many needs right now - wisdom, clarity, breath, energy, perspective, company, solitude, nourishment, space. I leave you to muse on this question - How is nature providing what you need in this moment? I would love to hear all you have to say about this episode! Comment on the episode post on Instagram @rockyroseherbals or send me a DM. Let's keep the conversation flowing folks!
