We've all felt it. That awkward disconnect when the vibe is off and you're wondering how you ended up across the table from someone who just isn't where you are. Maybe you're in different stages of life, chasing different things, or just not clear on what the other actually wants. Whatever the reason, the moment hits: this isn't it. It's not easy to find someone emotionally mature enough to show up. Someone who isn't hiding behind the damage of past relationships or stuck reliving the pain of a breakup they never really moved on from. And even harder? Finding someone willing to do the work, to build something real, instead of ghosting or bailing the minute things get remotely tough or inconvenient. But this isn't just an episode for people looking for love. It's about communication, emotional availability, and knowing what you bring to the table—because relationships, romantic or not, reveal a lot about who we are and how we lead. In this episode, Brett gets personal and delivers the truth about: Confronting our cultural epidemic of “busy” and what it's really masking When a relationship is worth fixing—and when to let it go How to assess emotional and logistical availability (for them and for you) Protecting your self-worth from people who chip away at it bit by bit. Why dating apps thrive in the same way every addictive algorithm does *BONUS* Brett's best dating advice: simple but far from easy Coming Later This Year – The (Im)perfect Relationship Course If this episode hit home, there's more where that came from. We've all been hit by it. It seemingly comes out of nowhere—a misunderstanding or argument we never saw coming. One moment you're having a discussion, the next you're blindsided by resistance, vitriol, or passive-aggressive blowback. Where did it come from? Why did something small suddenly feel so personal? Here's the truth: it's rarely about the thing—it's about what the thing represents. Control. Trust. Identity. Relevance. Fear. A loss of autonomy. There's always something else simmering under the surface. And if you want to be effective in high-stakes conversations or high-pressure environments, you have to be able to read those underlying signals, not just bulldoze with logic. In this episode Brett unpacks exactly how to do that and covers: How to diagnose the real reason behind someone's resistance Why linking your message to their character is more effective than chasing compliance How to foster autonomy by making it feel like their idea Why perception, not logic, is the real engine of influence and leadership What drives people to defend their identity and internal narrative at all costs
Why is talking about money so hard? An even better question might be: why do so many job postings treat compensation like a state secret—vague, unclear, or completely absent? The truth is, people want to know they'll be respected and valued. If you leave them guessing, they'll start looking elsewhere. In Part 1 of this hiring series, we covered how to attract the right candidates. In Part 2, we dug into asking the right questions during interviews. In Part 3, we're focusing entirely on compensation, because how you talk about pay tells a story about how you value people. In this episode, Brett breaks down: The 3 most common ways companies list compensation—and how to determine which is right for you How to shift people away from obsessing over base salary and toward the bigger picture of total value Creative ways to incentivize your team without blowing up your budget How to foster loyalty and stop roles from becoming revolving doors If you need further assistance with this topic or anything else involving your business, visit artofcoaching.com/mentor, we'd love to help. Audit. It's one of the most unsettling words in the English dictionary, carrying a connotation of fear and unease that makes people shy away from even the slightest hint of it But, like most intimidating things, an audit becomes far less daunting once you look at it more closely. One definition of an audit is simply “a systematic review or assessment of something.” Think of it as a straightforward check-in—a moment to take stock of where you stand and where you want to go. At the end of the day, an audit is really about something we talk about time and time again: accountability. It's a chance to be honest with ourselves about what's working, what's not, and how we can move forward with intention. In today's episode, Brett guides you through practical steps to reflect, recalibrate, and get back on track before the year wraps up. If you wait until January it will be too late. Topics we'll dive into include: Assessing your goals and determining when to pivot How to measure growth and allow yourself grace when it's lacking Identifying your needle movers and deciding if it's time to double down Letting go of the things and people who no longer serve you Constructing an immediate action plan to get started NOW If you find this episode helpful, check out our most updated FREE Self – Reflection Guide or browse through any of our other free resources! But what if there's a way to revisit the problem, to approach it from a different angle, and open their minds (and ours) to new possibilities? In this compact episode, Brett gets straight to the point of navigating these messy situations, helping you zoom out to see the situation for what it truly is, and recognize when it's time to look in the mirror—ultimately leading to a resolution when it feels like all hope is lost. Key subjects covered: Diagnosing the REAL issue: the most crucial first step to solving any problem How to see into your blindspots through someone else's perspetive Two types of errors, their differences, and how to avoid both The “Triple A Approach” to ensure YOU aren't the problem Understanding the role our ego plays in the root cause of our discontent One of our missions as a company is to be a beacon for people facing challenges like those we discussed in today's episode—whether you want to become a better leader or navigate the scary realities of entrepreneurship. It is easy to confuse happiness with joy. Happiness comes as a result of something that we enjoy, like, or find fun. Joy resides deep in our soul always. Happiness comes and goes, but Joy, when you understand and can find it, and place it in your heart, will always be there holding you steadfast and strong even when what is going on around you does not feel happy. Joy is a constant. It is not dependent on circumstances or situations. There is no doubt that all want to be happy, yet, if we hold an understanding of joy deep in our heart we will also find happiness more often. On our final episode of Love From The Hyp presents The Conscious Coaching Hour with us intuitive coaches, Sakura Sutter, Rory Reich, & Jeanette Dames, as we discuss Living In Joy and how to find lasting joy in your heart no matter what is going on around you. As coaches & mentors, we have a massive responsibility and it is to do no harm to the humans we are leading. I've seen too often coaches entering this industry for the money potential, the minimal working hours, or whatever it is that entices them... but they seem to forget that we are working with humans. Real people with real emotions and consciousness, so it's about time we start a new era of conscious coaching. ✨THE JUICY HIGHLIGHTS:
Let's talk about “those people”. You know, the people who are doing the things you want to do but aren't. Traveling to the places you want to go but don't. Achieving the things you desire to achieve but haven't seemed to be able to get there. Who live life boldly, who believe in themselves, who thrive, who go for it - who manifest the life they want… When you see ‘those people' do you judge them? Do you tell yourself stories about them, or about yourself to justify why YOU can't achieve what YOU want in your life? In this TAO-Living episode we explore: Your identity as someone who “can't” have what those people have The consciousness behind judging + lying to yourself The abundance you're blocking by judging “those people” How to truly embrace and learn from people further on the path than you How to move forward and BLESS those people for doing, having, and being what they choose in their lives Subconscious beliefs and how to bring them forth and upgrade them Deciding you can BE, do, have, what you desire Give yourself the gift of cleaning up limiting beliefs in your subconscious mind! Until those are handled and addressed, you'll keep hitting limitations in your life, whether in success, health, wealth, abundance, happiness, joy, fulfillment, etc. Desire support with this? So you can BE WHO YOU BE and become one of “those people” who truly thrive? Here are a few ways I can support you: Life By DesignAugust 25-27, 2023 This is a 3-day gathering of like-minded souls willing to uplevel, upgrade limiting beliefs, and design their lives according to their true nature and desire. Bring your heart + soul and let's get into it! You'll walk away with actions already implemented, a game plan and the confidence to carry it through. The Art of Living ExperienceOctober 12-15, 2023 This is a 4-day immersion, where you experience and practice embodiment of all the realizations, knowledge, and truth that lives inside of you. Prepare to be stretched, to surrender, and to experience life-changing transformation. So much joy comes from The Art of Living Experience. It is yours to claim. Additional services I provide…

When I first met Mike Chabot at The Istana in Bali… I thought he was a shallow piece of man-candy. And boy, was I right! Haha jokes aside, he WAS an OnlyFans model at the time, so my intuition was technically right. But, he went on a huge spiritual journey of finding himself, his integrity, and his mission to serve the world. He left making over $300,000 a year taking sexy photos for the internet to take a huge risk on coaching people to have a more abundant life. We go deep on that journey, and it get's hilarious, raw, and real. Huge shout out to Magic Mike Chabot, I appreciate our friendship and your mission to serve in this world. @mikechabotfitness https://linktr.ee/mikechabot roadtoabundance.com

We have all faced the big ‘A' at some point or another in our lives, especially within the last few years. It has no doubt brought up old emotions and memories that may have not gotten fully processed. It has caused our hearts to race and our minds to become flooded with fearful thoughts. It has kept our focus off of the things that really matter. While it may serve a short and temporary purpose, anxiety is not needed to live your life. In fact, it does quite the opposite. On this encore edition of Love From The Hyp presents The Conscious Coaching Hour (originally aired on 6/23/21) we will tackle anxiety. Some of the tools we will be discussing to help manage or move through Anxiety include; * Wim Hof App (Breathwork) * EFT-Emotional Freedom Technique (tapping) * Raisin Technique * Hypnotherapy * Meditation * Dance & Movement * Earthing/Forest Bathing * Lifestyle Changes * 4 Count Breath * 3-3-3 Rule

How are the people around us and the relationships we have, whether familial, romantic, or work-related affected when we stand in our power? What about the impact on our relationship with the planet and our purpose in it? Food for thought, right? EP 300 is an accomplishment. I am extremely proud of the fact that we've delivered a quality episode every week since the inception of LYM almost five years ago. For 300, I wanted to deliver something special to you the listener to say thank you and to simply up the bar once again in what we deliver at LYM. So, I invited two of the guys I've had on most often to the podcast to guest together. Brett Bartholomew has successfully navigated the world of business and continues to do great things with his company, Art of Coaching. His landmark book, Conscious Coaching is a must-read for anyone in the coaching industry today. I personally took his Apprenticeship course, aptly named as it is a real-time apprenticeship in the art and science of communication. I highly recommend looking into his work as it will most likely change your trajectory in ways you never expected. Stu McMillan is a part of the ownership fabric of ALTIS, one of the leading-edge businesses in human performance today, especially in coach education. I've also experienced the ALTIS Performance Therapy course firsthand as well as contributed to the Apprentice Coaching Program. Both were incredible experiences. I asked these veterans of business building to talk about the good, the bad, and the ugly of business, and why, as challenging as it may be, they continue to burn a path of their own in entrepreneurship. I trust you'll find it valuable. Enjoy PC 300 and thank you the listener for always being there, I appreciate you.If you liked this EP, please take the time to rate and comment, share with a friend, and connect with us on social channels IG @Kingopain, TW @BuiltbyScott, LI+FB Scott Livingston. On this episode of Love From The Hyp presents The Conscious Coaching Hour -Resilience. Resilience is the ability to stay strong in the face of adversity. Rather than letting difficulties, traumatic events, or failure overcome them and drain their resolve, highly resilient people find a way to change course, emotionally heal, and continue moving toward their goals. Psychologists have identified a number of factors that appear to make a person more resilient. For example, research has shown that people with high self-esteem tend to be more resilient, as do people who believe they can control their own fate. Positive framing of situations, the ability to regulate emotions, and the ability to see failure as a form of helpful feedback are also important.
“Seeing is believing, but sometimes the most real things in the world are the things we can't see.” I'll credit Tom Hanks and The Polar Express with this quote. And although it's a children's Christmas movie, it couldn't hold more true in the real world today. In today's episode, Dr. John Kiely explains how our beliefs impact our physical, mental, and emotional well-being, and gives us several tactical takeaways for success in any realm. Well known for his role as a performance coach, Dr. Kiely has worked with athletes of all ages, in a variety of settings, including the 2018 FIFA World Cup, the 2015 Rugby World Cup, the 2008 Olympics, and the 2004 Paralympics, as well as both junior and senior IAAF World Athletics Championships. He's a prolific writer, speaker, and presenter with more than 60 articles to his name and currently supervises professional doctorate candidates pursuing practice-based doctoral-level qualifications while working in professional multi-disciplinary performance environments. To help us understand the complexity of the placebo effect and managing people, Dr. Kiely details: The different methods that can be used to manage high-pressure situations (17:20) The “secret” behind how the placebo effect works (42:25) How to leverage the relationship between pain and placebo (52:20) The danger of placebo's evil twin and what thought processes to avoid (1:08:45) Referenced Materials: The Placebo Prescription A fascinating landmark study of placebo surgery for knee osteoarthritis A controlled trial of arthroscopic surgery for osteoarthritis of the knee Attribution and Person Perception Connect with Dr. Kiely: Twitter: @simplysportssci Instagram: @simplysportssci Research Gate: John Kiely If you liked this episode, we would truly appreciate it if you would leave a review. Comparison is the thief of joy, and FOMO is the enemy of you really valuing your own time, your own experience and your own perspective. You've heard it said that experience isn't something you get until just after you needed it. But that doesn't mean we shouldn't share our experiences in hopes they can help others not make the same mistakes we have. In today's episode, we're going to share some of the most valuable lessons WE learned this year. Lessons learned from leading 23 live events (3 of which were brand new), partnering with 20+ incredible organizations, hosting 46 podcasts, releasing 110 newsletters, writing 500 social media posts, hiring two new full time staff members and countless other impactful moments. Hear from each member of our staff as we recount both the successes and failures encountered along the way including: Operations advice from Liz Bartholomew - Director of Operations (10:00) Effective prioritization strategies from Ali Kershner - Director of Creative Strategy (20:20) The benefits of exploring new sides to yourself from Bekah Gold - Chief Everything Officer (38:20) Advice on job transitions from Nate Hoffmeister - Director of Strategic Growth and Business Relationships (50:10). How can I sum up this episode? Well, Brett Bartholomew is basically in the drivers seat of a vision quest to be the best coach, person, leader, human, you want to be. The author of Conscious Coaching does allow for the typical Power Athlete detours along the way - movies, politics, child rearing, and of course, Welbourn stories. It's the guidance you've been looking from a guy who has done the research. Brett Bartholomew is the author of Conscious Coaching and founder of Art of Coaching. He also has a thick beard and a raspy voice…so yes, he meets the universal coaching criteria. But this leader holds more than just a stopwatch. His expertise lies in communicating with athletes to achieve the best positive result. How, you ask, does he accomplish this? Tune in.
