I Was a Texas Gang Member, Dope Dealer & Pimp — Then I Got Sent to Prison | Tamara Cook

Tamara Cook grew up poor in a small Texas town with eight siblings, a mother struggling to hold everything together, and a biological father who was never in the picture — and when her babysitter started abusing her at just seven years old the life she deserved was already being taken from her before she was old enough to understand what was happening. In this episode of Locked In with Ian Bick, she shares how her mother fell into addiction and began pimping her out, how her parents splitting sent everything into further chaos, how she eventually started selling drugs herself and ultimately became a pimp — the exact monster she had always been afraid of and never wanted to become. She opens up about her own addiction the relationships the multiple children she was raising in the middle of everything, and what a seven year sentence in the Texas Department of Corrections finally did to give her back the life that started being taken from her when she was seven years old. _____________________________________________ #womeninprison #TrueCrime #redemptionstory #prison _____________________________________________ Connect with Tamara Cook: YouTube: https://youtube.com/@tamarasherrell87?si=0laBG70KXTx69hZI TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@nobodybby87?_r=1&_t=ZP-98ZtlRlPlcc _____________________________________________ Hosted, Executive Produced & Edited By Ian Bick: https://www.instagram.com/ian_bick/?hl=en https://ianbick.com/ _____________________________________________ Timestamps: 00:00 Tamara Cook Introduction 00:21 Growing Up in Amarillo 02:02 Early Family Life & Childhood Memories 06:46 Life Changes at Age Seven 09:05 Abuse and Family Struggles 13:17 Mother's Addiction Begins 20:28 Role Reversal: Becoming the Caregiver 23:12 Trauma, Betrayal & Survival 27:01 Deeper Into Abuse and Neglect 33:32 Adolescence in Chaos 39:00 Survival and First Crimes 43:43 Turning to the Streets & Dealing 49:57 Dealing Drugs and Gang Life 58:00 Solo Survival and Criminal Hustle 01:05:30 Becoming a Dealer and a Pimp 01:14:00 Running Operations and Family Fallout 01:26:02 Violence, Survival & Self-Defense 01:35:29 From Teen Mom to Emancipation 01:46:06 Trying to Be a 'Normal' Wife & Mother 01:56:02 Losing Children and Hitting Rock Bottom 02:05:40 Falling into Addiction 02:11:00 Deep Addiction, Homelessness & Jail Time 02:24:00 Year Under Investigation & Final Arrest 02:33:50 Prison: The Breaking Point 02:46:00 Life Changing Years Inside 03:02:00 Release, Recovery & Faith 03:14:00 Domestic Violence and New Beginnings 03:18:00 Career, Ministry, and Healing 03:26:00 Mother's Redemption and Passing 03:33:00 Forgiveness, Recovery and Purpose 03:35:51 Reflection & Message of Hope _____________________________________________ To advertise on the show, contact sales@advertisecast.com or visit https://advertising.libsyn.com/LockedInWithIanBicka

Audio taken from the live teaching "Destroy These 5 Lusts Or They Will Destroy You!" - https://youtu.be/a87RuPgOVmoEvery Christian faces temptation, but temptation becomes dangerous when we allow it to grow into uncontested lust. When you study the Scripture, lust is more than sexual desire; it is any strong, disordered craving that pulls our hearts away from God and toward sin.In our Bible study today we are going to identify the 5 major forms of lust that secretly attack the soul, and discover how to recognize them, and how to restrain them.Key Scriptures used in today's teaching: James 1:12-15Other Scriptures referenced: 1 John 2:15–17; Galatians 5:16; Matthew 6:22-23; Proverbs 4:20-23; 1 Timothy 6:9-10; Mark 10:42-45; 2 Timothy 3:1-4; James 1:14-15In today's study the key Scripture as well as 1 John 2:15-17 was read from the New American Standard Bible (NASB) translation. August has arrived—and according to intuitive astrologer Stevie Calista, this isn't just another month. It's one of the most pivotal energetic periods of the year. After July's Mercury retrograde invited us to slow down, reflect, and reset, August accelerates the journey with two powerful eclipses, major planetary shifts, and an invitation to shed old identities in favor of something far more authentic. If you've been feeling like life has been nudging or pushing you toward change, you're not imagining it.In this episode, Stevie walks us through the astrological themes week by week, explaining what each major transit means, where to focus your energy, and how to navigate the month with greater clarity, trust, and intention.IN THIS EPISODE WE COVER:Why August 2026 eclipse season marks a major turning point filled with endings, beginnings, and soul-level course correctionsHow Saturn in Aries continues challenging us to release old identities and discover who we truly areThe meaning of Lammas (Lughnasadh) and why early August is the perfect time to celebrate gratitude, abundance, and the harvest in your own lifeHow Chiron retrograde invites deep healing while helping you recognize just how far you've already comeWhy Venus entering Libra encourages more balance, beauty, connection, and harmony in your relationships and daily lifeWhat it means as Mercury finally leaves its retrograde shadow and begins moving into new territoryHow Mercury in Leo inspires creativity, confidence, self-expression, and reconnecting with your inner childWhy Mars entering Cancer asks us to slow down, nurture ourselves, tend to home and family, and reconnect with our emotional rootsThe significance of the August 12 Solar Eclipse in Leo and how it may close important chapters while opening your heart to a new version of yourselfWhy this eclipse is less about forcing outcomes—and more about trusting where your soul is already leading youThe caution around Mars square Neptune, and why it's important to avoid making emotionally reactive decisions during the third week of the monthWhat Virgo season brings as we transition into healthier routines, organization, productivity, and grounded momentumHow the Mercury cycle reaches an important midpoint, offering an opportunity to reflect, refine, and adjust projects or ideas that began in JulyThe meaning of the August 28 Pisces Lunar Eclipse, and why surrender, intuition, and trusting the unknown become your greatest strengthsWhy 2026 continues to feel like a year of brand-new territory—and how to embrace the uncertainty instead of resisting itThroughout the conversation, Stevie reminds us that astrology is a powerful tool for understanding the larger cycles unfolding in our lives, helping us work with the energy instead of against it.If August feels intense, know that you're not alone. This month's astrology is inviting all of us to release what no longer fits, reconnect with our hearts, and step into a more authentic version of ourselves—one choice at a time.MORE WITH STEVIE CALISTAVisit steviecalista.com to learn more about Stevie's astrology readings, classes, and current offerings.Follow Stevie on Instagram: @farmhousemoonSubscribe to Stevie on Substack: @farmhousemoonSOLAR ECLIPSE VISIBILITYPath of Totality: Greenland, Iceland, Spain and Portugal, Russia:Partial Eclipse Regions:North America: Parts of Alaska and northeastern Canada/U.S. see a minor partial eclipse. i.e., New York will have about 9% coverage and Detroit roughly 3%.Europe + Africa: Much of Europe and northwestern Africa experience a deep partial eclipse near sunset Visit seekingcentercommunity.com for more with Robyn + Karen and many of the guides on Seeking Center: The Podcast. Hi everybody, I'm coming to you from Vermont, where life feels slower on the outside, but my mind has been Busy. In this solo episode, I'm sharing an honest catch-up on everything that's been rattling around my head lately: why I've been feeling so exhausted, the anxiety of always thinking about what's next instead of where I am, the guilt and heartbreak of navigating my mom's illness, and a major shift in how I'm thinking about our fertility journey. If you feel similarly pulled between gratitude and grief, struggle to stay present during good moments, or wonder why one difficult thing can suddenly consume your whole mind, I hope my swirling thoughts help you feel a little less alone. In the Haute Seat, our unforgettable conversation with Katie Ginella delivers everything Bravo fans could ask for: shocking Housewives revelations, celebrity encounters, fashion critiques, and some of the funniest moments we've had in the studio. We kick things off diving into Katie's obsession with RuPaul and the impact that RuPaul's Drag Race has had on generations of people who simply wanted to feel accepted. We swap stories about attending the very first RuPaul's Drag Race premiere party, where RuPaul himself was hilariously denied entry because he wasn't in drag and had forgotten his ID. From Lady Bunny to backstage moments at Drag Race, Katie gushes over the icon who changed the world for millions. Naturally, the conversation spirals into pop culture, with Madonna's legendary habit of showing up hours late to concerts, George Michael becoming Katie's nine-year-old son's newest obsession, and Katie sharing details about her new podcast, Bravo's Most Wanted, which she launched after initially developing a different show with Monica Garcia from Salt Lake City before teaming up with Jamie Rice. We also reveal that years before Modern Family, Bravo passed on our own pilot, Designer Family, because executives didn't believe audiences were ready to watch two gay men raising a teenage daughter in Beverly Hills. Looking back now, it feels unbelievable. Katie gets candid about how reality television affected her children, revealing that her daughter received death threats after being targeted online and that filming RHOC took an emotional toll on the entire family. We also get the inside scoop on Kylie auditioning for Love Island and whether Katie's kids would ever join a “Next Gen OC.” Then comes one of the biggest bombshells of the episode: we reveal that we were among the very first people to witness the beginnings of Scandoval while filming Scheana Shay's wedding in Cancun. We recount seeing Tom Schwartz kiss Raquel Leviss on camera before later spotting Tom Sandoval kissing her off camera—long before the scandal exploded across the Bravo universe. Katie is left absolutely stunned by the story. The Housewives tea continues as Katie opens up about her biggest regrets from Orange County, admitting that she wishes she had stood up for herself more instead of trying to keep the peace. She addresses misconceptions that she is a liar, talks about the difference between “show friends” and “real friends,” and explains why she believes much of modern reality television has become performative. The mood shifts when SnowWhite90210 finally returns from the groomer and instantly steals the spotlight. Between puppy talk, frozen dog sperm, and plans for Mochi's future puppies, things take a hilariously unexpected turn. Katie also opens up about one of the most emotional chapters of her life: being adopted from Korea as a baby. She shares her complicated feelings about eventually meeting her birth mother, revealing that she simply wants to thank the woman who gave her a chance at the life she has today. We discuss identity, belonging, and the deep love Katie found with her husband Matt after surviving an allegedly abusive first marriage. As we head into Runway Rundown, Katie weighs in on the latest RHOC cast photos, revealing her favorite looks from Shannon Beador, Tamra Judge, and Vicki Gunvalson while hilariously critiquing the gowns worn by Emily Simpson, Gina Kirschenheiter, Jen Pedranti, and newcomer Carmella GarciaPol' gives his expert couture opinions, breaking down why quality and custom tailoring matter at every age. Throughout the episode, Katie remains refreshingly honest about the realities of Housewives fame, the friendships she misses, the betrayals she still struggles with, and whether she would ever return to RHOC. Between RuPaul, Madonna, Ariana Madix, Scheana Shay, Tom Sandoval, Raquel Leviss, Sutton Stracke, Vicki Gunvalson, and SnowWhite90210, the Haute Seat is packed with unforgettable moments and enough Bravo tea to keep fans talking until her Armenian coffee reading. So many people today feel the uncertainty of our chaotic world caused by wars, economic volatility, political strife, and concerns for the future. But here's the good news: God has not left us in the dark. In His Word, He has given us a clear, detailed timeline of future events so we can navigate these last days with unshakable hope and divine purpose. I often say: "Bible prophecy was not given to scare us, but to prepare us." From this present time, all the way to the Eternal Kingdom, Scripture lays out exactly what's coming next.Key Scriptures used in today's teaching: Matthew 24:3-8Other Scriptures referenced: Matthew 28:18-20; 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18; 1 Corinthians 15:51-52; John 14:1-3; 2 Corinthians 5:10; Jeremiah 30:7; Matthew 24:21-22; 1 Thessalonians 5:9; Revelation 16:16; Zechariah 14:3-5; Revelation 19:11-21; Revelation 20:4-5; Revelation 20:7-10; Revelation 20:11-15; Revelation 22:1-5; Romans 10:13Unless stated otherwise, most Scripture is read from the New Living Translation (NLT) Bible. If you prayed with Tiff, click here https://lostlamb.org/ and let him know!  Be sure to check out the playlist “New Beginnings” - https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLsX8E19Azl58_FjxELPxjnsL8CAtmama4Thank you for listening, and subscribe for new content each week.
