The demonization of female bodies isn't anything new. In the last few years, Disney has made an attempt to change the clothing of female animatronics and performers in their theme parks. Outside of Disney, dress codes continue to dictate what women can and can't wear all while being stared at. What are we telling young women and female presenting people when we do this?

In 2015, Disney theme parks bumped up their security and stopped selling toy guns, and while political debate has continued to revolve around toy guns, it's honestly about time we start asking more important questions in hopes for a solution to America's problem with gun violence. 

Maybe you've seen Saturday Morning cartoons disappear? Sesame Street moved to HBO! The government oversight of Children's TV has become overwhelming, as has the oversight of the US education system, doing more harm than good. So how do we fix it? 

Thanks to the #MeToo movement we've seen Hollywood get its fair share of comeupance but misogyny still exists everywhere including the world of animation. It isn't hard to think back nearly a century ago and think about how women were treated differently than women, but what are we doing now to create equality? Are we doing enough? 

Child actors seem to go through hard times more often than not and that includes Disney tv and film stars dating all the way back to the 1940s and its happening in a totally different way in the age of social media, but how can we help?

Disney theme park popcorn buckets, like many collectibles, have become a commodity of an online black market, run on sites like Ebay and social media. 

Lots of stories circulate about Walt Disney, but why do we tell them and better yet, why do we believe them? What does it say about Walt Disney and what does it say about us?

Starting on April 3, 2019 join me, Josh Taylor, as we explore the less magical side of life through the most magical lens I know. We'll use stories about Disney to tell stories about ourselves, and hopefully we are better off for it.
