We encourage you to engage this practice with us and in your own reading of the Bible this week. Lectio Divina- Prelude: Selecting a small portion of scripture, begin with silence. 1. Lectio: Read, paying close attention to a word or phrase. 2. Meditatio: Read a second time and meditate on what God may be speaking to you through the word or phrase. 3. Oratio: Read a third time and respond to God's speaking in some way, perhaps with a confession or commitment. 4. Contemplatio: Simply rest in silence, abiding in the presence of God. Conclusion: Lord's Prayer (or some other fitting prayer to close this time) The service today included an abbreviated form of lectio divina. In your own practice, it can last up to 10-30 minutes or more.
