FLORIDA TRIP 2026 Tuesday, May 26, 2026 The Bones (Ezekiel 37) Jeff Hatton
Today, we will be celebrating Pentecost by reflecting on Ezekiel 37:1-14, The Holy Spirit Renews Us. Pentecost is about the coming of the Holy Spirit, but this is already foreshadowed in the Old Testament in a number of places, including Ezekiel 37. Israel is in exile, and hope is lost, and the people feel like dry bones, that life has left them. The Lord comes to Ezekiel with a promise of new life and restoration! Pentecost is about the Holy Spirit coming into the world and creating new life by empowering the people of God with spiritual life and power to go into the world, offering new life to everyone through Jesus witnesses to our communities, to repent and believe because the kingdom of God is near.
Does the land of Israel still matter in a modern, digital world? Christopher Kuehl, author of Is God a Zionist? sits down with Shelley Neese to unpack the complex history of Jewish-Christian relations and the biblical case for Israel. From debunking "Replacement Theology" to addressing the tough questions asked by Gen Z, this conversation dives deep into why the physical restoration of Israel is a modern-day miracle. Discover how ancient prophecies in Ezekiel are unfolding before our eyes and why supporting Israel is rooted in the very character of God.

Book of Ezekiel chapter 37 presents a powerful vision of dry bones coming back to life. God shows the prophet Ezekiel a valley of lifeless bones and commands him to prophesy—bringing restoration, breath, and life. This vision symbolizes Israel's restoration from despair and exile, revealing that no situation is beyond God's power to revive. The chapter also speaks of unity, as God promises to bring His people together under one shepherd. It reminds us that where there is hopelessness, God can breathe new life, restore what was lost, and fulfill His promises. The good news when hope is lost. A sermon on Ezekiel 37:1-14 for the 5th Sunday of Lent by Rev. Justin Morgan
What do you do when hope feels gone? In Ezekiel's vision, God asks a haunting question: “Can these dry bones live?” Originally spoken to people whose world had fallen apart, this vision reminds us that God's life-giving Spirit can bring hope even in the most hopeless places. This Sunday, we explore how resurrection is not just a future promise, but something God is breathing into our lives right now.

I visited a Lutheran church this morning and saw Ezekiel 37—the valley of dry bones. My first thought: Not again.
Thomas Barber preaches from Ezekiel 37:1-14 (The Valley of Dry Bones) and reminds the church that all of man is dead in sin and in need of salvation.

In the raising of Lazarus from the dead, Jesus proclaims that he himself is the resurrection and the life. These things are not abstract promises, but are fully embodied in Jesus himself, which will be completely revealed to all through his death and resurrection into his glorified state. The Valley of Dry Bones becomes an emblem of this reality about Jesus for we all who have trusted in him will likewise be raised to new life from the grave. That life is hidden for now, but will also be revealed to all in the end.Image: The Vision of the Valley of Dry Bones, Gustave Dore, Public Domain. Psalms of 119 are music tracks written and produced by 119 Ministries.Lord of the Sabbath is a proclamation of Yeshua as the rightful Lord of the Sabbath and the covenant promises of God that endure through the ages. Drawing on prophetic imagery such as the dry bones rising again and the restoration of scattered Israel, the song celebrates the faithfulness of YHWH and the reign of the Messiah.Released in the spirit of Ephesians 5:19 and Colossians 3:16, this track reflects the biblical call to speak to one another through psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs as we remember God's covenant and his appointed times.Scriptures referenced: Genesis 2:2–3; Mark 2:27–28; Ezekiel 37:1–14; Romans 11:17–24; Ephesians 5:19; Colossians 3:16Takeaway: Yeshua, the Son of David, is Lord of the Sabbath and the one who restores his people and fulfills the promises of God.
