Fr. Brendan McGuire - Podcasts that Break open the Word of God
The challenge for us as modern-day people, is that we have so much coming at us, so many voices. We have a cacophony of voices and messages. We do not know where or how to listen, and we certainly do not expect to listen to God. We do not ave that same sense that God is speaking to us in those direct ways. We have podcasts, we have videos, we have endless amount of internet voices, and that is not even including the television. They are all different stuff. (Read more…)

Matthew 1:18-24This is how the birth of Jesus Christ came about. When his mother Mary was betrothed to Joseph, but before they lived together, she was found with child through the Holy Spirit.Joseph her husband, since he was a righteous man,yet unwilling to expose her to shame, decided to divorce her quietly.Such was his intention when, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said,"Joseph, son of David,do not be afraid to take Mary your wife into your home. For it is through the Holy Spiritthat this child has been conceived in her.She will bear a son and you are to name him Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins."All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet:Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son,and they shall name him Emmanuel, which means "God is with us."When Joseph awoke,he did as the angel of the Lord had commanded himand took his wife into his home.

Fr. Larry Richards of The Reason For Our Hope Foundation Podcast
Msgr. Esseff reflects on Mary as the faithful woman prepared from all ages to receive the Word made flesh. Through her obedience, God enters human history in a new and intimate way. The Incarnation is presented not only as an event in the past, but as a living reality that continues through those united to Christ. Drawing from St. Paul's Letter to the Romans, Msgr. Esseff speaks about incorporation into Christ through baptism and the call to live as Christ in the world today. The post The 4th Sunday of Advent – Building a Kingdom of Love with Msgr. John Esseff – Discerning Hearts Podcast appeared first on Discerning Hearts Catholic Podcasts.

Somebody's got some explaining to do. Mary may not doubt like Zechariah, but she's not taking this without a little pushback. A baby. Are you kidding me? Well, in fact, Gabriel wasn't kidding. Join Coffee to Go co-hosts Karin Peter and Blake Smith for a look into Mary's angel encounter and what that meant for her, and for us. It could be that there is more going on here than what you find in a Precious Moments nativity. Listen to more episodes in the Coffee to Go series. Friends of the Rosary,Today, December 21, the Fourth Sunday of Advent, marks the final week of waiting before Christmas, symbolizing Love, the ultimate gift of God, sending his Son, Jesus, to save humanity. This Sunday sees the lighting of the fourth candle on the Advent wreath (often called the "Angel Candle").As we await Christ's birth and anticipate his second coming, we reflect upon God's great love and His promise of fulfillment, bringing hope, peace, and joy.As the Angel told Joseph in a dream (and we read in the Gospel today, in Matthew 1;18-24), the Son of God is the one who saves his people from their sins.He will conquer humanity through the irresistible power of love, the same power with which he made the universe.Ave MariaCome, Holy Spirit, come!To Jesus through Mary! Here I am, Lord; I come to do your will. Please give us the grace to respond with joy!+ Mikel Amigot w/ María Blanca | RosaryNetwork.com, New York• December 21, 2025, Today's Rosary on YouTube | Daily broadcast at 7:30 pm ET
