Listeners of Navigate With Faith Podcast that love the show mention:Often times, repetition and routine have the ability to devalue the meaning of important words and phrases. What is true faith? What is the definition of prayer? Furthermore, what does prayer and faith even look like up close? Join Alesa and Ciara for the Season 2 Finale as they discuss God's commands and instruction surrounding prayer and how to strengthen your faith muscles daily!
When you hear the word “salt” what's the first thing that comes to your mind? Is it seasoning or sting? Maybe a bitter taste has just come across your mouth... or you can actually appreciate the flavor enhancement. This week we welcome our guest, Sadik Gaskin, as we discuss what it means to be bold, season our words and be the pop of flavor that God called us to be as the “Salt of the Earth”.
It's no secret that society praises individualism. Sometimes, we may even miss or look over someone in need, despite what we've been called to do on behalf of one another. Kind words are often used, but empathy is lacking or absent. So, what exactly does it take to be a true, empathy-expressing, burden-bearing member of society? Seeing, feeling, and praying WITH one another? Tough conversations, loving correction and admonishment? How do we grow together and keep our relationships healthy? Join us as we survey this vice versa kind of love that reflects how Jesus befriends us daily.
Communication is an art - it can make or break our relationships. Knowing what to say is half of the battle, but knowing HOW to say it is the other half. Considering this, we are called to speak with, walk in, and extend grace like Jesus to family members, colleagues & friends in a way that promotes peace, forgiveness, and sometimes even correction. Join Alesa and Ciara as they discuss this thing called "GRACE".
God's blessings come to us in many forms; Things such as time, talents, relationships and finances are given to us to manage thoughtfully. Since we are called to be wise, how does one successfully steward over their God-given gifts in a way that would please The Gift Giver? What does everyday, good stewardship look like? Tithing? Saving? Investing? Join Ciara and Alesa as they sit down with Minister Andre' Kennebrew to get some practical insight on the topic of Godly stewardship!
Feeling validated is a basic human desire - rather our validation comes by way of the approval of friends, family or followers, most of us seek validation for confidence, assurance and/or acceptance. Considering this, to whom do we MOST desire to be confirmed by and what's the REAL reason behind our desire to feel validated? How can we shift our appetite for approval from man's opinion to God's? Join Alesa and Ciara as they discuss the concept of seeking validation and the peace that comes from focusing on God's approval.
Closed doors are a part of life - the gut wrenching feelings of disappointment, confusion, and misunderstanding can take hold of us and may even determine how we move forward, but our attitude when we face these challenges is what truly makes the difference. God's “no” or “not right now” can also be a blessing, protection, or even a path to upgrade but it's how we respond in the midst of it that will determine the outcome. Join us as we discuss how to face a seemingly closed door with grace and an attitude of gratitude. “I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% of how I react to it. And so it is with you... we are in charge of our attitudes." - Charles Swindoll
We are our brothers' and sisters' keeper, but how much is too much responsibility to take on for others? How can we share the burdens of our neighbors without suffering from emotional burnout and misplaced liability? Having to make wise decisions while considering the emotions of others, in addition to maintaining your peace of mind and knowing when to say “no” can be a difficult balance. Join us as we explore God's expectation of our interpersonal responsibilities and how to set healthy emotional boundaries.
It is often assumed that one must have achieved a certain level of perfection in order to be used for God's glory, but that could not be further from the truth - “God doesn't call the qualified, He qualifies the called”. While Jesus was perfect, His followers are not; Being human does not disqualify you - it makes you the perfect candidate for God's calling. Join us as we explore the many ways that God prepares and guides our spiritual assignments while on our progressive journey to Jesus.
The meaning of success is not universal; What fulfills each of us varies . . . so, what's the real meaning of “success”? How is it measured? Who and what defines it? Are we pursuing worldly standards or God's? Join Alesa & Ciara for the Season 2 Premiere of Navigate With Faith, featuring our special guest Janine!
With the overwhelming presence and popularity of social media, the definition of “privacy” has evolved significantly. “If you don’t post it, it didn’t happen” is the motto… but should it be? Although living life on a platform can create wonderful opportunities and connect us to the world around us, without wisdom it can also lead to comparison, competition, and many other unhealthy societal pressures. We enjoy posting our milestones and staying in tune with our network, but the reality is . . . most of us actually struggle to decide what to share and what to keep private. What’s the healthy balance between staying in the loop socially and maintaining our personal lives? As Believers, even our testimonies and spiritual revelations are for an appointed time and should be guarded until then. Join us as we explore the true blessing of discretion.
How often do you get offended? Do you accept criticism with grace or do you tend to reject it? Are you self-aware enough to accept correction from others? Tough conversations are both inevitable and often times necessary. As either the initiator or the receiver, it is up to us to decide how we will handle confrontational situations. Delivery, tone, and approach all contribute to a conversation’s possible success or failure; however, the posture of our heart and one’s perspective can be the difference between acceptance and offense.
It’s a thin line between being frustrated and passing judgment. We should be mindful that our words have power: the power to tear down or build up, the power to inspire or lead others astray, the power to purify or poison someone’s reputation, and the power to positively or negatively affect our personal ministry & fellowship with Christ. It is common for us to experience moments of displeasure and irritation in our interpersonal relationships. Although God never promised us a life devoid of negative experiences, how we speak about people can be the difference between honoring and dishonoring Christ, ourselves and others. Frustration is not a sin and neither is expression, however both can lead to unwholesome and ungodly speech. Are you simply frustrated or are you judging your neighbor?
Everyone needs a friend, whether it be for a season or a lifetime. However, navigating these relationships can sometimes get tricky. We often don’t know when to hold tight and when to gracefully let go. As a Godly friend, we are called to steward well over our connections, discern seasonal shifts in our community, and display qualities that mirror Christ. Jesus was communal, we should be too!

When things get difficult, it’s common for us to change or re-route our beliefs in order to make sense of our lives. This may contribute to why some people draw away from the Christian title and lean more towards general “spirituality”. In this day and age, it is especially attractive to adopt new practices to reach our personal definition of satisfaction and understanding. Therefore, it’s important for us to be educated on the rituals & terminology we embrace and the dangers therein. Let’s talk about it!
Waiting is a part of life. We wait on food, transportation, appointments… we even wait on God. Though inevitable, waiting is not exactly our idea fun. The promise often comes after many prayers, daily surrender, and an array of emotions. Everyone enjoys a good testimony but the process is not always pretty. Let’s discuss the ugly truth about waiting.
How can we be productive and purposeful in our singleness? Singleness and loneliness are not synonymous. By focusing on God’s plan for our lives, we can find true purpose and value in our unmarried state. In a world that glorifies dating and romantic relationships, Believers can be especially useful as singles and find wholeness and freedom through Christ.
With the year 2020 coming in strong amidst growing health concerns and civil unrest, Alesa & Ciara share how they managed to find peace in the eye of the storm.
