Pecan Street Mission is creating a community of people seeking to put their faith into action, to anchor deep in the love of God and to carry God’s love into every part of our lives. We seek to love deeply, so that we might live differently. If you have been searching for a community to call home,…
Generosity Across the Generations Generosity is one of our most powerful and transformative spiritual practices as Christians. When we invest our lives and our livelihoods in the work of God’s Kingdom, our lives and the lives of others around us are radically enriched. Generosity, much like discipleship, is not a solo endeavor. As individuals and as a community of faith, we are who we are today because of the extravagant generosity of those who have come before us, those who through investing their lives in ours taught us the joy of giving ourselves away. We in turn pass on lives of extravagant generosity to others.

Unsung Heroes: The Crux of Devotion In this three week worship series, we will take a look at three minor, but instrumental characters in the Bible who exhibit devotion at critical points in God's salvation story. We will parallel both Biblical stories with our current unsung heroes in around us today.

Where do you go when faced with uncharted terrain? In the face of the great and mysterious unknown, how do you move ahead? In a time of global pandemic, our world and our lives have been turned upside down. School, work, social engagements, vacations, family, friends - nothing is exactly as it was. So what do we do in the face of the unknown? We are far from the first people of faith to ever brave the wilderness. In Exodus, a rag-tag group of runaway slaves are faced with the great unknown. Through traveling many miles over many years, these Israelites learned what it meant to follow God through uncharted waters. Our wilderness is not a new one, and through these ancient stories of faith God may have a word for us today. This Summer, we will journey alongside Moses and the Israelites in braving the wilderness, ancient and new. With God as our constant companion, we will wander through these stories together.

What do you do when your whole world turns upside down? When the turmoil of Holy Week turns into the great grief of Good Friday followed by the mysterious unknown of Easter morning? Knowing that God’s love has conquered death, but the world is not yet as it should be, how do we live on the other side of resurrection? This Eastertide, we will look at these early resurrection stories and ask what word Jesus has to offer us in the midst of the fear, despair, unknown, and failures that surround us today.
