While the world celebrates Pride Month, Christians must be careful not to focus on one visible sin while becoming blind to the pride, immorality, drunkenness, gossip, dishonesty, and worldliness that often exist in our own lives. God calls His people not to celebrate or excuse sin, but to expose the deeds of darkness and find their identity, confidence, and joy in Jesus Christ alone. The rainbow is not a symbol of human pride, but God's covenant, faithfulness, and mercy toward a fallen world.

What does it look like to stand for truth with both courage and gentleness? Though surrounded by the spiritual darkness and injustice of the British slave trade, Wilberforce's heart was transformed by the gospel, and God used him to shine the light of Christ boldly in public life. Give Us This Bread What are you truly hungry for? In Episode 162 of 2 Minute Disciple, we meditate on John 6:30–34, where the crowd asks Jesus for a sign and points back to one of Israel's greatest miracles—the manna God provided in the wilderness. Despite witnessing the miraculous feeding of thousands, they still want more evidence. Yet Jesus gently redirects their attention. The manna was never the point. The miracle was never the destination. The bread in the wilderness was always pointing to something—and Someone—greater. Jesus tells them that it was not Moses who gave bread from heaven, but the Father. And now the Father is offering the true Bread from Heaven: the One who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world. The crowd doesn't fully understand yet, but their response is beautiful: “Sir, give us this bread every day.” They are asking for more than they realize. And often, so are we. Many of our prayers begin with earthly needs, surface desires, and immediate concerns. Yet beneath them lies a deeper hunger—a longing for life, peace, purpose, belonging, and communion with God. Jesus is the answer to that deeper hunger. This passage reminds us that even when our understanding is incomplete, we can bring our desires honestly to Christ and trust Him to give us what we truly need. Working for Food That Lasts Why are you really seeking Jesus? In Episode 161 of 2 Minute Disciple, we meditate on John 6:22–29, where the crowds search diligently for Jesus after He miraculously fed thousands with a few loaves and fish. At first glance, their pursuit seems admirable. They cross the lake looking for Him. They are determined, persistent, and eager to find Him. But Jesus sees deeper than their actions. He lovingly exposes what is driving them: they are following Him because He fed them, not because they understood who He truly was. The crowd wanted another meal. Is God angry? Distant? Waiting to punish you the next time you fail? Most people believe some version of that. But the Bible tells a completely different story. And the clues are hiding in plain sight.

Wherever He Went How often do you intentionally reach for Jesus during your day? Everyone carries some form of identification, but many Christians are still living from their old, expired identity instead of their new one in Christ. According to Colossians 3, when you belong to Christ, your old self has died and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. This means putting to death earthly sins like sexual immorality, greed, anger, and lying while putting on Christ-like characteristics such as compassion, kindness, humility, and forgiveness. The key is setting your mind on things above rather than earthly concerns and doing everything in the name of Jesus. Today we are continuing in Philippians 2, and we are lookingat verse 25, where the Apostle Paul writes: “Yet I consider it necessary tosend to you Epaphroditus, my brother, fellow worker, and fellow soldier.” Thisman appears only briefly in Scripture, yet he teaches us a tremendous lesson. Epaphroditusno doubt lived in the area of Philippi. He was a follower of Christ, anexemplary Christian, and a man who lived a balanced Christian life. He wastrusted by the people at Philippi. His name actually suggests that he wasprobably a full Gentile, unlike Timothy, who had a Jewish mother and a Greekfather. Yet Epaphroditus was a man who loved the Lord Jesus Christ with all hisheart. Hewas trusted because of his faithfulness over the years. The believers atPhilippi entrusted him with carrying a special gift—perhaps money or othervaluable provisions—to the Apostle Paul while he was imprisoned in Rome. As wewill discover in these verses, he also cared for Paul during his imprisonment. Thisis an interesting man whom we meet only briefly in Scripture. Pauldescribed him in three ways. First, he was a brother. That speaks of hisfellowship with the Apostle Paul. Second, he was a fellow worker. That speaksof his labor. Third, he was a fellow soldier. That speaks of spiritual warfare.As we look at his life through these few verses, we find that he was a balancedChristian. Somebelievers love fellowship but avoid service. Others work hard but neglectrelationships. Still others enjoy debating doctrine but never reach lostpeople. Over the years, I have met many folks who become so interested inprophecy that they do not want the pastor to preach about anything else.Prophecy is all they want to discuss or study. But that is not the balancedChristian life. Epaphroditus maintained balance in his Christian walk. He lovedGod's people. He worked for God's kingdom. He fought for God's truth. He was afellow soldier of Jesus Christ. Thisreminds me of the book of Nehemiah. As Nehemiah and the people rebuilt thewalls of Jerusalem in fifty-two days, they faced constant opposition from theirenemies. Nehemiah stationed the workers on the wall with a sword in one handand a trowel in the other. They were working while remaining ready to battle ata moment's notice. My friend, that is a good description of the Christian life. TheChristian life requires both fellowship and service. We also need to understandthat we are engaged in spiritual warfare. We need accountability. A balancedChristian life includes worship, fellowship, evangelism, service, prayer, andBible study. Iwill never forget my very first semester at Lynchburg Baptist College—todayknown as Liberty University. We had a class co-taught by Dr. Elmer Towns andDr. Jerry Falwell called The Balanced Christian Life. We used a book written byCharles Ryrie entitled “The Balanced Christian Life”. That class was oneof my first introductions as a brand-new believer to what the Christian lifeshould look like. It helped me understand the importance of balance. Atthat point in my life, I was very interested in evangelism. But there is moreto being a Christian than simply trying to get everyone saved. We needfellowship with one another. We need teaching from God's Word. We needopportunities to participate in all the various aspects of Christianliving—giving, prayer, Bible study, service, and worship. A balanced Christianlife makes all the difference. Whenone area is neglected, imbalance develops. We should constantly ask ourselves:Am I still growing in every area of my Christian life, or am I neglectingsomething important? My friend, let us make sure we are like Epaphroditus,living a balanced Christian life. Letus pray. Father, help us become balanced Christians. Teach us to love Yourpeople, serve Your kingdom, and stand for Your truth. Make us faithful workersand faithful soldiers of Jesus Christ. We pray this in Jesus' name. Amen.

The kingdom of God stands in direct opposition to a world consumed by personal ambition. Ray, E.Z., Mark, and Oscar explore what it truly means to live with a kingdom mindset and why selfishness is one of the greatest obstacles to faithful Christian living. They explain that kingdom-mindedness means living under God's rule, reign, and authority rather than building a personal kingdom centered on recognition or control. True freedom comes when believers stop striving to make a name for themselves and instead focus on the glory of God and the good of His kingdom. The cross itself represents a complete transfer of allegiance, with every area of life falling under the authority of Christ.The guys point to Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane as the perfect example of surrender to the Father's will. Even in anguish, Jesus submitted Himself completely, showing that suffering and obedience are not incompatible. They also reflect on David's life, whose continual repentance and worship revealed a heart shaped by the kingdom of God. Kingdom-mindedness produces humility, worship, and a desire to be searched and refined by the Lord. The guys emphasize that believers often become distracted by earthly concerns, preventing them from simply resting in God's presence and delighting in Him.The conversation then turns to how kingdom living shapes daily priorities and relationships. The kingdom of God is marked by righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit, fostering a new disposition toward sin, obedience, and community. The guys explain that Christians are not meant to live in isolation but in fellowship, learning from those who have walked faithfully before them. God has given His people resources, wisdom, and testimonies of His faithfulness to strengthen them through every season. Kingdom-minded believers recognize that their lives are not their own and that every opportunity exists for God's glory.Finally, the guys discuss the importance of resting in God's kingdom rather than being consumed by the world's noise and anxiety. Modern life is full of distractions that constantly pull attention away from God, making silence and stillness increasingly rare. The guys encourage believers to slow down, seek God first, and recognize His care in both Scripture and creation. Kingdom-mindedness means fully trusting the King, knowing that He provides, sustains, and rules with perfect goodness. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, or PTSD, is one of the most misunderstood mental health conditions, especially within faith communities. Today on Your Hope-Filled Perspective, we are going to gently untangle what PTSD truly is, what it is not, and how God meets us not just in the trauma itself—but in the long, tender aftermath that follows. Today, in honor of PTSD Awareness Month, we’re going to talk about Understanding PTSD: What It Is, What It Isn’t, and How God Meets Us in the Aftermath of Trauma. Quotables from the episode: PTSD is not a failure of faith. It is the result of a nervous system that adapted to survive overwhelming circumstances." Your trauma responses are not moral failures. They are survival responses. The body remembers what the mind would rather forget. The same brain that learned to protect you can also learn safety again. God does not rush the healing He Himself designed to unfold gently. God is not disappointed by your symptoms. He is present in your healing. Scripture never teaches that faith erases biology. Your faith resides in your heart and mind, but trauma often lives in the body. And God cares about both. Healing from PTSD does not mean erasing your story. It means integrating it. Your trauma may have changed you, but it does not disqualify you.
