Living as a saint means actively participating in God's kingdom work through sincere love and humble service. This involves loving without conditions, taking emotional risks, and being willing to have difficult conversations when necessary. True Christian love holds others accountable while considering them more important than ourselves, demonstrating genuine care without expecting anything in return. This lifestyle requires avoiding spiritual laziness while maintaining fervor in serving God. Christians are called to share with those in need, pursue hospitality, and live in harmony through humility. When faced with persecution, the response should be blessing rather than revenge, maintaining peace whenever possible, and focusing on eternal matters. This includes practical actions like helping enemies and viewing the world through Scripture's perspective rather than conforming to worldly patterns.Support the show

Being a saint means actively participating in God's kingdom work, not just attending church services. Every believer has unique gifts and access to people that pastors may never reach. Christians must view the world through Biblical truth, challenge their perspectives, and use their spiritual gifts within the church community. The local church is essential for spiritual growth, mutual support, and the exercise of these gifts. True Christian living involves finding joy in whatever role God has assigned, whether teaching, serving, or showing hospitality.Support the show
In this powerful message, Pastor Karl dives into Romans chapter 11, exploring God's cosmic plan to save anyone who desires salvation. He unpacks the heartbeat of Romans: God's unstoppable mission to redeem sinners by grace through faith and our response of worship and service. Focusing on the Greek word "sozo" (salvation), Pastor Karl traces God's saving work through Israel's past, present, and future, showing how His promises to Israel shape His promises to us as Gentiles. He emphasizes that God uses us to make His chosen people jealous, drawing them back to Him, while warning against pride and anti-Semitism in today's world. With passion and clarity, Pastor Karl calls us to humility, readiness to share our hope, and active participation in God's global plan through church planting and proclaiming the Word. Could this be a key to revival right inside your home? In this episode, I'm sitting down with Rayann a woman who took a radical leap of faith and uprooted her family to serve on a Mercy Ship—a floating hospital that travels to provide free surgeries to those in desperate need around the world. Here's what we dive into: How her family's “yes” to God led them to the open seas, answering His call to living on a floating hospital/city... and how Covid hitting ten months in affected them. The real-life challenges (and blessings) of relocating your family to serve full-time in ministry on a ship. How stepping into the mission field as a family can be the spark that ignites personal and spiritual revival. This is message 19 in the 2 Corinthians series 2 Corinthians 12:1-13 Paul addresses his critics by emphasizing his own weakness and dependence on Christ. Although he had extraordinary spiritual experiences, including a vision of heaven, Paul refuses to boast about them. Instead, he highlights the "thorn in the flesh" given to him to keep him humble, reminding the Corinthians that God's grace is sufficient and His strength is made perfect in weakness. Paul concludes by pointing out that his ministry has been validated by signs and wonders, yet his focus remains on serving the Lord and keeping the attention on Christ, not himself. This is message 16 in the Labour In The Church series 2 Timothy 2:20-26 Paul uses the metaphor of a great house to describe the local church, where there are both honorable (gold and silver) and dishonorable (wood and earth) vessels. The honorable vessels represent believers set apart for God's use, while dishonorable vessels represent those operating in their own strength or false believers. Paul urges believers to be vessels of honor by separating from false teaching, preparing for God's work, fleeing youthful lusts, following righteousness, avoiding foolish disputes, dealing gently with others, and focusing on soul-winning. This is message 17 in the 2 Corinthians series 2 Corinthians 11:1-15 Paul warns the Corinthian church about their vulnerability to deception. He criticizes them for being ungracious, ungrateful, and unguarded, allowing false teachers to corrupt the simple truth of the gospel. Paul sarcastically addresses their preference for “super-spiritual” leaders and reminds them that, though he did not accept money from them, his ministry was driven by love. He further exposes the motives of the false teachers, showing how they exploited the church for financial gain and led them away from the truth in Christ. This Catechetical Sunday weekend, we reflect on the importance of Christian Service in the life of a missionary disciple. In reading from the Letter of St. James, we are challenged to "demonstrate [our] faith... from [our] works." This same challenge is given to us again by the Lord in the Gospel as He summoned the disciples and said to them, "Whoever wishes to come after me must deny himself, take up his cross, and follow me." What are some types of service we can challenge ourselves to take up this week? In sports, It's All About the U as Cam Ward continues to make an early case for the Heisman. Dave Rich examines Peter's metaphor of the church as living stones in 1 Peter 2:5. This imagery portrays believers as components of a spiritual house, functioning as a holy priesthood. Rich explains how the church, as living stones, offers acceptable sacrifices to God through Jesus Christ. He outlines seven types of spiritual sacrifices: self-dedication, love, giving, praise, service, gospel proclamation, and prayer. The metaphor represents God's presence on earth and the church's role in fulfilling His purpose. By depicting the church as living stones, Peter emphasizes the active participation of believers in God's plan through sanctification and service. ★ Support this podcast ★

This is message 4 in the 2 Corinthians series 2 Corinthians 3:1-5 Paul emphasizes that true effectiveness in ministry and spiritual life comes not from human qualifications or efforts but from God alone. He highlights the importance of abiding in Christ, as we are powerless without Him. God, as the divine Husbandman, prunes us to make us more fruitful, and our role is to remain connected to Christ, relying on His strength to accomplish His work. This is message 1 in the 2 Corinthians 2 Corithians 1:1-12 Paul highlights God's comfort in our darkest times, which helps us encourage others to trust in HIm. Despite severe trials, including persecution and illness, Paul recieved uplifting news from Titus about the Corinthian church's positive respitive response to his first letter. This led him to write 2 Corinthians, defending his ministry. He emphasizes that God, the Father of Mercies, provides abundant comfort through Jesus Christ, enabling believers to share this comfort with others. Paul's sufferings have allowed him to offer solace and salvation to many, demonstrating how sharing in Christ's suffering deepens one's capacity to share His comfort. Separation to God is the first requirement for Christian service. As we allow Christ to be enlarged in our lives. He will crowd out everything else. When Ezra arrived in Jerusalem, he discovered that the Lord wanted to do this separating work among His people.
Before Ezra and the remnant returned to Jerusalem, they faced a choice: to depend on the king's army or to depend on God to protect them. They chose to depend upon the Lord, and God did not fail them. He provided all their need. He was glorified in their weakness. He empowered their testimony, and He gave them courage.
We are the church of the living God! To advance with the Lord, we must fill our lives with the Word of God. God is looking for men and women with grateful hearts who are rejoicing in His mercy, finding strength in the Lord Jesus, and appreciating other believers serving around them. When the Lord finds workers like that, He will use them to build His church.
This is message 12 in Labor In the Church 1 Timothy 3:14-15 Paul had a desire to come back to Timothy and the church of Ephesus. He meets the Ephesian church leaders in Miletus, likely for the last time, and shares his heartfelt testimony. Despite hardships, Paul remains committed to preaching the gospel and warns them of future challenges, emphasizing the importance of teaching the entire Bible. In order to lead others back to God, we must first prepare our own hearts. The Holy Spirit desires to strengthen us in our inner man. When we study and obey God's Word, the Lord will prepare us for His work. Great joy comes when we live in the overflow of our walk with God teaching others also.
Once we have trusted Christ as our Saviour, our Christian life is only beginning. We must share with others that we have been saved by the blood of the Lamb. In Ezra 6, the remnant that returned to rebuild the temple were faithful to continue obeying the Lord by observing the Passover. As they obeyed, the Lord strengthened them and filled them with His joy!
This is message 16 in The Seven Churches of Revelation. Revelation 3:1-6 Sardis, once a thriving city known for its economic strength during the Persian and Roman eras, became complacent, leading to its downfall. This historical backdrop mirrors the condition of the church in Sardis, which appeared alive but was spiritually dead, resting on its past achievements. The church was warned to awaken and strengthen what remained of its faith to prevent the removal of its spiritual influence. This situation serves as a reminder of the importance of vigilance and genuine spiritual engagement, encouraging believers to foster love, good works, and active church involvement as they await Christ's return.
