From child actor to Disney star to pop icon dubbed "Lesbian Jesus," Hayley Kiyoko built a career creating the representation she never had as a half-Japanese, queer artist. In this episode of She Pivots, Hayley opens up about becoming a community's symbol practically overnight while still figuring herself out, and how she moved from leading with fear to leading with confidence and self-love. She also shares how she found her fiancée, Becca Tilley, and reflects on the decade-long journey that culminated in her Girls Like Girls film and album—a project that started with high school heartbreak twenty years ago. Greetings once again everyone and welcome back to the podcast! This time I have the pleasure of introducing you to Rev. Anne-Marie Zanzal, author, speaker, podcaster and former hospice chaplain! Needless to say, there is much talk around her hospice work and the miracles she witnessed there, BUT, she also discusses the Knicks, starting over in the middle of life...and what it looks like to remain true to oneself, even at the cost of so many doubting your decisions. Send us Fan MailI've recently been consuming episodes of the popular TV show "Heated Rivalry" which has taken the world by storm. I've watched and re-watched all six episodes, listened to podcasts about the show and I've consumed many, many podcasts where people have reviewed the show, commented (and cried and cheered) in real time. The tenderness, realness and flat-out courage of the characters portrayed in these gay love stories has opened the floodgates of my tears many times.Years ago, when I lived in Seattle, I told myself that someday I wanted to be "fully me" and to not be compartmentalized with different people regarding who I am and my current truth. I came out as gay in late 1999. Because of my former background in the Christian church, I found myself in the position of not being my true self in multiple scenarios in my life- notably in my relationships in my family and with folks who knew me in my "former church life". Many of these people thought they knew me and what I believed in leaving the church- even though the majority of what they came up with was far, far from my truth. They choose to live in their own worlds and belief systems, extrapolating their own beliefs and their own truth onto me and my experience.I've been thinking about doing a podcast like this for quite awhile now. Watching "Heated Rivalry" and observing the various fictional characters grow and evolve has given me the extra push I needed to do this podcast. A podcast that in some ways, is my own "second coming out" in sharing my own truth at this point in my life.My hope is that by my sharing this, others will also now be able to speak their truth and to "Pay It Forward" to many others who are desperate to hear their truth. Thanks for listening. Send us Fan MailIn this final mini-series episode, I reveal and revisit number one — the most listened-to episode in the podcast's history: my conversation with Turiya Hanover on the loss of significant partners in life.Turiya is the co-founder of Path Retreats and the Path of Love process, a therapist and course leader with over five decades of experience. In Episode 4, she speaks from inside fresh grief — the recent loss of her beloved partner Maja — while also bringing the hard-won wisdom of having lost her husband Welf suddenly and unexpectedly in 1981. And from inside that grief, she shares what came to her: Love Is All. The love does not go. The separation is real, but love overcomes it.This is the conversation that launched a community. Four years and over 180 episodes later, it is still the one listeners return to most.Listen to the original episode: Episode 4 — Turiya Hanover | The Loss of Significant Partners in LifeAlso listen to: E26 — Grief in the First Year and Coming Out of Trauma | E64 — Grief, Trauma, Essence, Connection and SafetyIf this podcast is helping you, please consider leaving a 5-star review — it helps more people find this content when they need it most.Chapters:00:00 Welcome00:49 Today's episode01:27 Welcome to the Mini Series02:50 Top 10 - Number 103:17 About Turiya Hanover04:12 Turiya's biographyWhy this episode is special to me09:00 Why is this episode at Number 1?10:37 Why it resonated with listenersSupport the show

In this episode of Still Here Hollywood, Kristanna joins Steve Kmetko to discuss her unforgettable experience working alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger, the intense physical transformation required for Terminator 3, and how the blockbuster changed her life forever. She also opens up about growing up with actor and model parents, her journey from modeling to acting, coming out publicly as bisexual, raising her son away from screens, her concerns about AI in Hollywood, and why authenticity matters more now than ever.

Have you ever heard "planned neglect" anywhere else but Organize 365? Probably not because it's a term I coined to describe what I do to more effectively manage my responsibilities and time. One can't do everything so you must determine what is the highest value you provide to your work, community, or family and implement planned neglect for a certain amount of time to manage it all. I Must Have Mentioned "Planned Neglect" Before I was fairly shocked when I asked AI to give me some feedback based on a few episodes I shared. It explained the "framework" I have put in place. Ha! Much to my surprise because I hadn't realized I offered a framework. I must have talked about it a few times on the podcast. But it wasn't wrong. You need to identify the timeline when you will be using this planned neglect. Then you should tell your family so they know what's happening when you start to cut corners to free up time for you to better utilize your highest value in this phase of life. Then you need to extend a lot of grace to yourself. It's ok that you have lowered your standards. It doesn't have to be forever just while something else needs more of you. Then you need to implement these temporary habits. And understand that this particular shortcut you have used in the past may not help you the same as it has in the past. You may need to figure out a different way to make life easier for a certain amount of time. So back in the day when the dinosaurs were still roaming around, I identified planned neglect. I needed a little more time to work on my direct sales business. I thought about what could I neglect to give my attention to focus on my business? So I started with a nanny for 10 hours one day a week. Once my business grew even more I hired an assistant to help just 5 hours a week. Then there was the time I realized I was driving 25 hours a week. It was time to outsource laundry. It was beautiful for a while when I would drop off my laundry and pick it up folded and hung. And I have shared a few phases of life when paper plates became the china of choice in the Woodruff household. Coming Out of "Planned Neglect" Now that the PhD is coming to an end I have really wrestled with what I want to do with that time. I acknowledge that I will go back to cleaning my house and maintaining my own window boxes. I have really been thinking about the planned neglect I have practiced and it's time to reverse some of those habits. It dawned on me that while I am back to using real plates for lunch and dinner, I will continue to use paper plates and bowls of different sizes for breakfast. Also, I hadn't realized pursuing the PhD meant my health and body would suffer. I hadn't put any thought into my nutrition and I certainly wasn't moving as much as a person should. So now that I am coming out of planned neglect I have started to use some of that time to go to the gym. And I have decided I no longer want to spend that money on the Tovala meals. It was worth the money when I didn't have time to grocery shop or meal prep. But now, I have time to focus on my nutrition so I am not ordering Tovala meals. Who knows, I may utilize them again in a season I need to. As I come out of planned neglect I am going to take back my body and health. I will also be giving time back to working on Organize 365®. You have already seen a little bit of this as I have eliminated the work products. I am launching my new book "Escaping Quicksand" and will likely write more books. And I am getting ready to focus on The Productive Home CEO and new terminology to go with it being the Household CEO. I also want to explore how to use this new authority in academia to benefit household managers and their systems. And at home I will be filling in all the blanks in my information management binders from The Paper Solution® and taking one day a month to focus on my CEO position in the Woodruff house. Planned neglect is simply looking at your tasks, deciding how you can lower your standards of that task and then implementing a new habit for a certain amount of time. Mine was the PhD recently, what is yours? EPISODE RESOURCES: The Sunday Basket® The Paper Solution® Sign Up for the Organize 365® Newsletter
Some words and experiences come with a lot of baggage, conjuring up fear, stigma, and shame. But being afraid or ashamed doesn't protect us from those experiences or those words. It just keeps us from really understanding them or being able to talk about them. And what we can't process for ourselves, we can't help those we love and lead with either. In the clinical space, dissociation is one of those words and experiences that is met with a lot of discomfort. How people were taught and trained to address dissociation often perpetuates shame and stigma, and its pop culture depictions and usage haven't helped either. But my guest today has spent her career making the case that dissociation isn't rare, or even necessarily pathological; it's actually a common and deeply human experience that ranges from everyday zoning out to more complex presentations that do need support. And as you'll hear, Dr. Jamie Marich believes understanding this spectrum isn't just a matter of clinical education, but is vital for our own self-knowledge and how we lead others.Dr. Jamie Marich, PhD, LPCC-S, REAT (she/they) began her career as a humanitarian aid worker in Bosnia-Herzegovina from 2000-2003, primarily teaching English and music. Jamie travels internationally teaching on topics related to trauma, EMDR therapy, expressive arts, mindfulness, and yoga, while maintaining a private practice and online education operations in her home base of Akron, OH. Marich is the founder of the Institute for Creative Mindfulness and the developer of the Dancing Mindfulness approach to expressive arts therapy, and the author of several books on EMDR, dissociation, mindfulness, recovery, and more. This week on Coming Out & Beyond, Anne-Marie sits down with Keith Aron (he/they), a trans and queer transformational coach, writer, proudly witchy weirdo, and self-described honorary tree. Keith writes the Substack Big Blue Sky Dragonfly, where he explores the sweet spot between belonging and authenticity — and his story is one Anne-Marie has been wanting to share for a long time.Keith came out as a lesbian in 2001, while living in conservative Northern Virginia, married to a man, and parenting a young child. There was no social media then, no community waiting on the other side of a Google search — only a Yahoo users group called Lesbian Support, a tiny LGBTQ shelf at the local Barnes and Noble, and a book titled From Wedded Wife to Lesbian Life that he devoured in his minivan. Fifteen years later, after years of sobriety, therapy, and working with gender dysphoria that had been quietly rising for most of his life, Keith came out again — this time as trans. In this conversation, Anne-Marie and Keith move slowly through the territory many of our community members know well. The double masking of sexuality and gender. The way the body keeps the score when we suppress what we know to be true. The role of community in healing what Anne-Marie has called the relational wound of queerness. The strange terrain of passing, of invisibility, of gaining male privilege as someone who lived nearly five decades culturally read as female. The both/and of every part of this work.Keith also offers his perspective on imposter syndrome — particularly the queer imposter syndrome that visits so many people who arrive at their identity later in life and wonder if they are queer enough, trans enough, allowed enough to claim what is theirs. His approach, informed by internal family systems, is one of curiosity rather than combat: getting to know the inner critic, learning what it is afraid of, what it has been trying to protect. (Listen for Keith's nod to Marlin from Finding Nemo as the inner critic we can all probably recognize.)Anne-Marie and Keith also talk practically about how to find safe community when you are exploring something new — including the often-overlooked support of 12-step affinity spaces — and how to find a therapist or coach who actually understands later-in-life identity work, because the rush to be an ally is not the same as the experience to do the work well. This conversation is for anyone listening who came in for the sexuality piece and has started to wonder if there is something else underneath. It is also for anyone who has been on this path for a while and could use the company of someone who has walked the long version of it.Connect with KeithYou can find Keith at keitharon.com and on Substack at Big Blue Sky Dragonfly (keitharon.substack.com), or by searching his name on LinkedIn. Rome is done and Roland Garros starts tomorrow. Anastasia is joined by Lucy Deuce for a tennis-friends-on-the-couch breakdown of one of the loudest weeks of the clay swing: Jannik Sinner completing the Career Golden Masters at 24, Elina Svitolina lifting a third Rome title and locking herself back into the top 10, and Coco Gauff fighting her way to a final the discourse swore she wouldn't reach. They also stop for a voice memo from journalist Hanlon Walsh on the ground in Rome, get into Gucci and the luxury-fashion-meets-tennis moment, and preview a Roland Garros draw that genuinely no one has figured out yet.In part two, Anastasia sits down with Edward Schmidt, author of The Open Era — a queer, mental-health-forward tennis novel out June 2 (June 4 in the UK). This conversation also kicks off something Anastasia has been sitting on for nearly a year: the very first Ground Pass Book Club. Links to pre-order and to the book launch at The Strand in NYC are in the show notes.Settle in, pour the coffee, this one is a long, juicy ride.Chapters:00:00 Intro00:26 Highlights from the Rome Masters08:31 Locking In for Roland Garros with Lucy Deuce12:28 Fashion Meets Tennis: The Gucci Influence18:30 Rome Tournament Highlights and Results20:32 Jannik Sinner's Triumph in Rome29:57 Elina Svitolina's Comeback and Impact on Women's Tennis35:44 Coco Gauff's Journey and Resilience43:55 Looking Ahead to Roland Garros48:52 Interview with Edward Schmidt51:53 Eddie's Journey into Tennis54:12 The Open Era: Book Overview57:36 Mental Health in Tennis01:02:14 Cultural Moments in Tennis01:03:22 The Impact of Social Media on Sports01:06:48 Representation in Tennis01:10:41 Coming Out in Sports01:13:46 The Impact of Representation01:15:36 Mental Health and Authenticity01:26:24 OutroLinks: Vanity Fair funny clip: https://www.instagram.com/reel/DYSWSIzJap7/?igsh=bGxzbW5udmJ3bjRz Merch: https://www.groundpasspodcast.com/shop

“I HAD NO SAFE PLACE GROWING UP” with Blaire White | The Hopeaholics PodcastIn this episode of the Hopeaholics Podcast, Blaire White opens up about the trauma, addiction, and chaos she experienced growing up in a small rural town surrounded by drugs, family dysfunction, and cult influences. Known for her outspoken commentary, viral YouTube presence, and controversial takes on culture and identity, Blaire shares a side of herself rarely seen online. She reflects on how witnessing addiction firsthand shaped her decision to avoid hard drugs entirely and break the cycle that consumed many around her. The conversation dives into her transition journey, the struggles of feeling different as a child, and how she learned to survive emotionally through imagination, independence, and resilience. Blaire also speaks candidly about forgiveness, healing family wounds, and the difficult process of confronting childhood trauma later in life. As the episode unfolds, she shares how a powerful spiritual experience led her to Christianity and completely transformed her outlook on purpose, pain, and identity. From discussions about addiction and mental health to faith, free will, and personal growth, this is one of Blaire's most vulnerable and honest conversations to date. Seven-time NBA champion Robert Horry, B-Dog Brandon Harper, and Rob Jenners break down everything happening in the 2025 playoffs — and there's a LOT to get into on Episode 259. The Thunder are rolling. OKC swept the Lakers to go 8-0 in the playoffs so far, doing it without Jalen Williams and doing it in convincing fashion. Big Shot Bob gives his honest take on LA's future — including whether Austin Reaves deserves $250 million, what LeBron's exit interview really signals, and why the Lakers keep running into the same wall every spring. Then the guys get into Victor Wembanyama's elbow on Naz Reid — Rob makes the case he should've been suspended, and breaks down exactly why the NBA's handling of it sets a bad precedent. Should the league have at least hit him with a fine? Everyone agrees on that one. We also dig into what NOT suspending Wemby says about how the NBA protects its stars, and whether that chips away at what's fair for everyone else on the floor. In the East, the Knicks swept the Sixers out — 25 threes, a 30-point blowout, and Knicks fans completely taking over Philly's arena. The boys break down what that team is actually capable of, and size up whoever's coming out of the Pistons-Cavs series to face them. Spoiler: neither team looks ready. Plus: the Washington Wizards win the draft lottery, Draymond takes a shot at Charles Barkley on Inside the NBA (and the guys have some thoughts on that), Steve Kerr's Warriors extension, Jaylen Brown's $50K fine for calling out Joel Embiid on Twitch, and the Big Shout of the Week goes to a 73-year-old music teacher from England who remortgaged his house to save his neighborhood pub. We close it out with this week's game — All-Time Playoff Runs — testing Big Shot Bob on some of the best postseason win streaks in NBA history. What if the next big wave of AI isn't about robots doing your chores but about robots that understand you?In this episode, we sit down with Colin Angle, co-founder of iRobot and the creator of the Roomba, to explore his bold new venture: Familiar Machines and Magic. After putting over 50 million robots into homes, Angle is now betting on something radically different: a quadruped AI companion designed not for work, but for connection. This isn't a humanoid. It's not a vacuum. It's something entirely new.Powered by on-device multimodal AI, this “familiar” can follow you around your home, learn your routines, encourage healthier habits, and even develop a kind of relationship with you, all while keeping your data private. We dive into:* Why the humanoid robot race might be overhyped* The massive untapped “emotional AI” market* How this robot learns, adapts, and interacts like a pet* Privacy-first AI design (no cloud streaming)* Why form factor matters more than you think* The future of robots in everyday lifeColin also shares why now is the perfect moment for physical AI—and how advances in reinforcement learning and edge computing are making this possible. If you thought AI robots were just about automation, this conversation will change your perspective.⸻

Taboo to Truth: Unapologetic Conversations About Sexuality in Midlife
In this episode, I'm talking with Natalie Davis — former DOJ trial lawyer, polyamory advocate, and author of Saying Yes: My Adventures in Polyamory — about what it actually looks like to build a life that doesn't follow the relationship script most of us were handed.Natalie has been with her husband since they were teenagers. They have an adult son. And over the past two decades, they've navigated swinging, open relationships, and fully polyamorous partnerships — together and separately. Today, she lives in a home with her husband and his long-term girlfriend, her metamour, while also dating outside the house. It works. And she's here to explain exactly how.We talk about the moment her husband first suggested opening their marriage, why her initial reaction was a hard no, and how she moved through fear and structure-loving resistance into something that genuinely expanded her world. She breaks down the differences between swinging, open relationships, and polyamory, shares what jealousy actually looks like when it shows up (and when it doesn't), and explains the safer sex elevator speech that everyone — monogamous or not — should be using. We also get into the real stuff: how her marriage stays strong when both partners are emotionally and physically connected to other people, what she told her son, how coming out as polyamorous affects friendships and family, why she's now fighting for legal protections for non-monogamous people, and what it's like to date much younger men after decades of marriage. This is not a conversation about blowing up your life. It's a conversation about questioning what you were taught, being honest about what you want, and realizing that love doesn't always have to look one way.In This Episode:00:00 What If You Were Never Taught Monogamy Was Optional?01:50 Meet Natalie Davis: DOJ Lawyer Turned Polyamory Advocate04:20 How Her Husband First Brought Up Opening Their Marriage07:40 Natalie's Arc: From Hard No to Saying Yes11:30 Swinging vs. Polyamory — What's the Actual Difference?16:00 Dating Separately for the First Time After Decades of Marriage19:15 Her First Real Poly Relationship — and What She Didn't Expect22:45 Inside a Swingers Club: What It's Actually Like26:25 The Safer Sex Elevator Speech Everyone Should Know30:00 Living with Her Husband's Girlfriend: The Resident V Setup33:35 Does She Ever Get Jealous? Our adventures in 1920's Japanese erotic illustration continue with our look at 1991's Yumeji, a late career surrealist drama from Seijun Suzuki about a horny ass guy in the Taisho era navigating infidelities and ghosts. Plus: lots of nice looking trees. But first! We take a look at EVERY SINGLE MOVIE coming out in the month of MAY 2026 in our patented "What's Coming Out??" segment! So #DonloydNow and enjoy this bite-sized Junk Food Supper. We got all this plus an in-depth analysis of the Valencia Twilight Zone Massacres (of 1982), bringing your conquistador wingman to the local taverns with Adam Scott, the incriminating wardrobe choices of Rick Baker, classic audio drop action and activity, the surprising return of Paris Jackson (sorry for ruining the surprise), Sean fails to recognize some of the less recognizable names on various cast lists, Parker hopes for typographic errors, RZA vs Rizzler (theoretical), a slightly frizzed out microphone on the Bowman side, Taisho-era Ric Flair, yellow canoes, unchecked nosedrips, crocodile tears, blank stares, squeeky chairs, phantom gleeks and so much more!! Recorded live-to-tape from the fabled Earthrealm on National Peace Rose Day, 2026~! Direct Donloyd Here Got a movie suggestion for the show, or better yet an opinion on next week's movies? Have you ever felt like you had to keep your spiritual beliefs a secret? Like admitting what you truly believe would cost you friendships, family dinners, or your reputation at work? You're not alone, and this episode is for you. Will and Karen sit down with Jenn Bierma, an intuitive massage therapist, medium, author, and podcast host who made a bold leap from the spiritually open culture of Minnesota straight into the heart of Oklahoma's Bible Belt. What she discovered there... and how she navigated it... will make you rethink everything about what it means to walk your truth out loud.Jenn shares why she spent years using massage therapy as a "cover" for her gifts, how she learned to bring people into her world by meeting them in theirs first, and what finally gave her the courage to stop hiding. She also opens up about her personal relationship with Jesus, and how that relationship looks nothing like the religion she was warned to fear as a child. The conversation goes deep fast. We talk about the difference between fearing judgment from others and judging yourself, why poor spiritual boundaries usually mirror poor personal boundaries, why Jenn chose not to offer traditional mediumship readings despite being a gifted medium, and the extraordinary story of how a spirit at a networking event led to her publishing her first book.If you've ever dimmed your light to make someone else comfortable, this episode is a reminder that the world needs exactly what you've been hiding. In This Episode:How Jenn adapted her spiritual practice to life in the Bible Belt without compromising who she isWhy "coming out of the spiritual closet" starts with the conversation inside your own headJenn's relationship with Jesus as a guide, not a gatekeeperThe trauma she processed in eight hours of meditation that finally freed her bookWhy she teaches clients to connect with their own guides instead of relying on herThe one question Jenn always starts with before entering anyone's energy fieldConnect with Jenn Erma:Website: https://rejennerationwellness.com/Book: A Life Lived Medium: A Psychic's Journey From Fearful to Almost FearlessThe Skeptic Metaphysicians is a spiritual awakening podcast for open-minded thinkers who refuse to check their critical thinking at the door. From mediumship and spirit guides to Arcturian contact, astrology, and the subconscious mind, we explore it all with curiosity, humor, and zero guru worship.
