This Summer, during Sunday Service, we are offering space to reimagine and apply the key components of life and ministry within a framework of Christian Community Development. These Sunday gatherings will offer space for worship, conversation, insight, and practical skills for engaging in the renewal of all things. This Sunday, we will be leaning into the key component of Leadership Development. For CCD, the goal of leadership development has historically been to embolden and develop local leaders where CCD practitioners are present and working with residents to build a thriving community. Our role as CCD practitioners is to create a safe space for people to be inspired, reach their full potential, and recognize their God-given purposes. The point is to identify and encourage existing leaders. We must also find potential leaders who might need guidance or resources to build their capacity and confidence. CCD emphasizes the importance of building into budding leaders, especially youth. Leadership development in CCD is not about a hierarchy of power. It is not about title, position, or credit. It is about building up those around us and letting others build into us as we all seek to become who God created us to be. Developing leaders and being developed as a leader are not short-term programs, but built on long-term mutual relationships.
I've never been a person who takes many sick days. I could count the number of times I called off work on one hand. I should have taken the day off yesterday. This Summer cold has got the best of me. I don't have much energy. While I worked from home yesterday like I often do on Fridays. I would have been better off taking the day off. But I had a lot of work to do, so I plowed through. When I finally had a chance to take a shower, I felt worse. I felt zapped. I had to rest so that I could build up the strength to sit in my easy chair and take a nap. As I said yesterday, Summer colds are the worst... This Summer is off to a beautiful start and is full of connection, growth and activation at Studio. We are calling this our “Summer of Kindness”! On Sunday we did part 3 of this series with our panel talk on “Sharing Jesus.” We had a great time exploring what this looks like in our lives and in our world today. We kicked things off by talking about evangelism—what it is, why it matters, and how it's a central part of following Jesus. In Mark 16:15, Jesus tells us to “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.” These were some of His final words to his disciples and we carry this commission to GO.Our goal was to put flesh on some of these big words, to know the power of the gospel (good news), and to get God's heart for humanity. We talk through things like:What does sharing the gospel look like in everyday life? Why is it sometimes hard to do?How do we know when to talk to someone, and what do we even say? What is the role of love in reaching humanity? As we aim our heart and attention toward people, it's important to be aware of who is in front of us. Do we know who we're talking to—whether someone knows Jesus, has church hurt, or is just figuring things out. Especially in the South, where there are churches on almost every corner, it's easy to assume where people are coming from. Walking in the awareness of God's love often looks like slowing down, listening, and being present.Billy Graham said it best:“It's the Holy Spirit's job to convict, God's job to judge, and my job to love.”At the end of the day, we're all called to share the hope we've found in Jesus—it doesn't require us to know everything, but is powerful when we are moved by love. Let your light shine (Matthew 5:16), give what you've got, and trust that God will use it.Let's continue to grow and mature in love, and get good at sharing it with those around us!For more info, you can go to our website, check us out on Instagram, Facebook, or YouTube. If you would like to support STUDIO financially, you can do so here.Have a great week!

This Summer series of Embodiment Sundays is inspired by Richard Foster who wrote in his book ‘Celebration of Discipline': “Superficiality is the curse of our age. The doctrine of instant satisfaction is a primary spiritual problem. The desperate need today is not for a greater number of intelligent people, or gifted people, but for deep people.”This series will provide guides to grow deeper with God in the ordinariness of our lives in connection with the Immerse Series during Sunday Service where are offer space to reimagine and apply the key components of life and ministry within a framework of Christian Community Development. As we paying attention to the movements of God in the ordinariness of our lives, the more and more we are able to recognize God's movements in all things. On this Embodiment Sunday, you will be (re)introduced to a habit worth cultivating at the end of the day as a of reflecting and remembering our experience of life. This reflective practice is loosely based off of the Examen Prayer and guides us to end the day with the grace, gratitude and awareness of God's movements in the ordinary of our lives.

When you're a person of faith—someone who honored your vows before God—going through a divorce can shake you to your core. It's not just the loss of a marriage; it's the lingering question many struggle with silently: “Does God hate me because I'm divorced?”Scripture has often been misquoted or misinterpreted in ways that leave people feeling condemned, ashamed, and distanced from God—especially in Christian communities that emphasize marriage as the ultimate goal.In today's episode, I'm joined by Dr. Dharius Daniels for a real, grounded conversation about what the Bible actually says about divorce—and what it doesn't. We explore how scripture is often interpreted in ways that leave people feeling condemned, how to embrace God's forgiveness and release the weight of guilt, why singleness is not a punishment but a purposeful season, and how to trust God with what's still possible—even after divorce.Follow Dr. Dharius Daniels on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/dhariusdanielsFollow Dr. Daniels on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/dharius.danielsDr. Daniels Website: https://dhariusdaniels.com/To learn more about Change Church: https://www.lifechange.org/**INTERESTED IN WORKING WITH ME 1:1 THIS SUMMER? This Summer, during Sunday Service, we are offering space to reimagine and apply the key components of life and ministry within a framework of Christian Community Development. These Sunday gatherings will provide space for worship, conversation, insight, and practical skills for engaging in the renewal of all things. This Sunday, we will be leaning into the key component of listening to the Community. The CCD practice of listening to the community may be one of the most practical components, yet it is one of the most challenging to execute effectively. We often sabotage the sacred act of listening because we feel the pressure to produce results, whether the tension comes from external institutional constraints or our internal drive to make something happen. It also seems counterintuitive to sit, listen, and wait to act in situations where there seems to be so much that needs to be done. Listening to the community involves a posture of learning and empathy.“A listening heart is always open, sensitive to the joy and pain of others, offering a space within itself for the other to enter. It gives each person what is so badly needed—an affirmation of their place in this world.” —Eliezer Shore

Send us a textYou are going to love this episode with Jason Gallagher. Here is Jason's background in his own words:I've always loved piano. Ever since I was a kid, I loved all the different sounds the piano could make. From the blues to rock to the classics, I played everything. As I got older and more serious, I realized there were things I couldn't do. When I tried to play the music I loved, it hurt. I had pains in my wrists, and there were many techniques my body refused to do. I decided to go to college for music because I knew I had limits, and I wanted to go past them. After getting a Bachelor's and a Master's, I play well. Professional level. I've studied with masters such as Phyllis Lehrer, Ingrid Clarfield, and Robert Durso, and I've overcome every difficulty I ever had. Thanks to that, I love piano more as an adult than I ever did as a child. Here's the thing: A lot of what I learned in college can be learned in high school. Middle school. Even elementary school! I can prevent your child from having to face many of these difficulties. I can show your child short cuts to playing the music of their dreams. Because I went through those struggles, I know what to look for, and I know how to fix it. No matter what your child wants to do with music, I am on the lookout for ways to help them succeed. Yes, everyone believes in hard work, but hard work simply isn't enough. You need a guide who knows how to get results from that effort. My students have won top awards that led them to performances at Carnegie Hall, Baruch Performing Arts Center, and Gill Memorial Chapel. You can find more information about Jason's studio at: https://jasonwgallagher.com/This Summer, Edna Golandsky, renowned pedagogue and leading expert on the Taubman Approach will release her first book with Amplify Publishing Group.
