The Rooted to Truth Podcast seeks to integrate Patriotism with Christianity in order to re-establish Biblical citizenship in America. Our focus will be applying Biblical truth to our discussions regarding cultural and political disputes, as well as histor
Since before America declared independence, the practice of making promissory oaths was an essential binding component that established a relationship between leaders and the people. It wasn't just a word spoken, but rather was a covenant made between leaders and those they represent, with God as the overseer in the matter. With the understanding that God is supreme governor and judge over the actions executed by humanity, a promise made with God as judge meant that the promise maker declared an understanding for the inevitable repercussions of their actions if they were to break their word. This fundamental component to the American governing system has been stripped of meaning overtime, and its consequences are obvious since there is a growing distrust for the people representing us in governing positions. If we are without trust, what are we left with? What are we freedom loving, Christ followers to do about this monumental issue? That's the invaluable question. Do you know that our presidential elections haven't been Constitutional since 1844? And do you know that Alexander Hamilton warned us of foreign enemy implants in places of governmental positions, especially in the position of President? Yes, these things are true! We have been given the command by God and by our founders to be vigilant and to be stewards of God's word. God has asked us to put on Christ and to honor Him through our decisions. That includes the decision to vote for honest and able candidates. I discuss these things and more in the latest episode of Rooted to Truth! Tune in to listen. One of the greatest lies told in society today is that American heritage is something to be ashamed of; a deception that began when the truth regarding our founding and involvement in slavery was covered over. To what benefit is it to teach a false narrative that only spreads bitterness, apathy, and discord? Well, it's all a part of the agenda do dismantle America and discredit the Word of God. In this episode we get into how the Constitution was actually a launching pad for the eradication of slavery and not a way to protect it; we'll talk about the 3/5ths clause and the reason it was included into the Constitution, and so much more. It's no surprise that there are a plethora of radical agendas scheming to destroy conservative values and detract from the original intent behind the Constitution. One under extremely heavy attack is the right to bear arms. As Americans, we should study the Constitution and other founding documents in order to properly defend our rights with truth. The truth is that the 8th section of Article I in the Constitution implies that all Americans should have the right to acquire and use arms; not only for their own self defense, but to act as a layer of defense to the entire nation. The founders included this clause in the Constitution so that we would not experience the tyranny of a standing army led by a powerful government here in the United States. Happy Birthday America! This episode is dedicated to the celebration of 246 years of being a nation. Our country is saturated in God's love and mercy, and we have so much to be joyful about. That joy has been the source for our American Exceptionalism ideology, but according to current day culture, to say you're proud of this nation is a horrible thing to say. Why shouldn't we be proud though? God has entrusted us with blessings which require great responsibility to uphold. Tune in to this episode as I talk about the beauty of our nation! Debt is not a fun topic to talk about, but it's certainly one of importance; especially as it relates to our nation. National debt has been addressed in a variety of ways throughout history, and has also been used to usher in fundamental changes to governing institutions. As I researched this topic, I also dove into a movement on the rise that is using debt to transform our world, and not for the better. Tune in to hear this in depth discussion! Episode 10 finishes up with a word study through the preamble, and introduces the enumerated powers given to the Legislative branch in Article 1 Section 8 of the Constitution. The first clause listed as being a power delegated to the congress is to lay and collect taxes. The wording of this clause and the amendments made to it have fundamentally changed the way we look at society and economic classifications. Not only this, but it has opened up the window of opportunity for governmental powers to seize greater control over individuals. If not proactive and protective over our Constitutional rights, we will lose this nation. As our last introduction episode before diving into our study of the Constitution, episode 7 analyzes the Constitutional Convention and the divine providence of the events. The Constitutional Convention was an intense and almost failing event in history. By studying this period of history, we not only learn to appreciate the founding of our nation all the more, we also get to see the love of God. He does not ever fail us, and He promises to use all things for our good. That is exactly what He did in 1787, and is what He is seeking to do in all of our lives as well. We just have to let Him. In episode 5 of Rooted to Truth, we took a look at the first two documents, out of five, that had an incredible impact on the drafting of our Constitution. Episode 6 continues with that conversation by analyzing the Petition of Rights, the Grand Remonstrance, and the English Bill of Rights. These political documents didn't come into existence without the influence of a cultural transformation though. The divine inspiration that brought about the Reformation period was a huge contributing factor to the stance for freedom expressed by a newly awakened people. In this episode of Rooted to Truth we dive into the concept of securing the blessing of liberty to our generation and the generations to come. In a day and age where freedoms are being targeted for infringement, we must be actively exercising our civic responsibility. If we fail to educate ourselves and our posterity; if we do not do our part to hold our governing systems and its leaders accountable, we will surely lose the free nation we have been blessed with.
