POPULARITY
Before mountains rose and time began, God was. He rules with perfect wisdom, commands with limitless power, and reigns with unshakable authority. He's the only Potentate, the sovereign King overall. In this teaching, we dive deeper into sovereignty of God.
Exodus 37 has a focus on the construction of the furniture for the Tabernacle. Verses 1-9 describe the making of the ark of the covenant, the only item of furniture in the Most Holy Place. The ark represented the presence of God through the Shekinah glory that the High Priest saw only once per year – on the Day of Atonement (or “coverings” ie of sins); dwelling between the cherubim. The box itself, made from acacia wood overlaid with gold represented our Lord Jesus Christ; as did the three items placed inside the ark. The lid and cherubim were made from a single piece of beaten gold and spoke of the atoning work of our Lord and his sacrifice for himself firstly; and for those his saints redeemed by his glorious offering. The dimensions of the ark and the instructions for its making were given by God to Moses in the Mount, as a pattern; and then provided via Moses to Bezaleel. Verses 10-16 describe the dimensions and appearance of the table of the shewbread (on which were placed 12 unleavened cakes – one for each of Israel's tribes – these were called “the bread of the faces” speaking of the saints serving the Almighty). This too was a box of acacia wood, which was overlaid with gold); and the table of shewbread was carried by means of acacia rods overlaid with gold; and these were passed through the four golden rings – one on each corner of the box. Verses 17-24 describe the the seven branched Lampstand, beaten into shape from a single solid golden piece. It spoke of the light of the LORD's Word illuminating a completely dark place. Its size is given and its appearance described. There was a central golden stem from which three pairs of extended curved arms were seen. It spoke of Christ as “the light of the world” (John 11:9). Seven symbolises perfection, that is, the number of the covenant. Stretching over the length of each branch were almond blossoms, their calyxes and flowers. The blooms of the almonds symbolised resurrection and new life. At the top of each branch was a bowl into which was poured the pure olive oil, which would burn brightly without smoke on a continual basis. The final item of furniture, in this chapter, was the altar of incense. We have already commented that the fragrant incense was a symbol of ascending prayer. The description of the altar and its utensils of gold are mentioned in verses 25-29. The altar itself was made from acacia wood overlaid with gold. Bezaleel also compounded the sweetly aromatic incense oil. Psalm 96 is about the worshiping of Yahweh in the beauty of holiness. His saints are called on to relate His glory and majestic deeds to the nations. His mighty doings have shown Him to be the all powerful and self existent, incomparable Sovereign. Creation shouts, that there is but One who made us – the dumb idols are voiceless in the face of His manifold witnesses – each one was made in His wisdom. Now in awe we bow before this loving Potentate. The earth will be judged righteously by His Son (Acts 17 verses 30-31). Psalm 97 declares that our God reigns. He is shrouded with clouds and other symbols of His greatness. His righteousness is universal – in heaven and earth – in all His realm. Idol makers and those whose trust is in those vanities will be put to shame. Zion the earth's capital city resonates with praise throughout the world. The LORD is the joy, strength and constant deliverer of the faithful. And for this they endlessly praise Him. Psalm 98 firstly calls upon the saints of our God to sing praises and make known His stedfast love. Israel were the first to benefit from His compassion; but says the psalmist, ultimately the entire earth will experience these blessings. All nature joins in His praise. And the reason for this is stated in verse 9; which repeats the refrain of Psalm 96 verses 13. Psalm 99 tells of the holiness of our God, who sits enthroned upon the cherubim. He executes His mighty deeds from there and His saints exalt and extol their Creator. Zion dispenses His just laws and merciful ways. Gathered there all present will see all His righteous saints – Moses, Aaron and Samuel, as a few who are named. They worshipped their Sovereign with reverence. And all the other faithful from every age will find their place in the Jerusalem of the kingdom age. How remarkable is our Lord. In the 7th chapter of 1 Corinthians Paul told of the importance of marriage in faithful service. One husband and one wife is the Divinely designed arrangement. But marriage is not for all as the chapter outlines. Verses 6-7 indicated that a single person is better placed to serve God, provided their passion can be contained, otherwise marriage would seem essential ( verse 36 reinforces this thought). The next section from Verses 12-16 says that the proper upbringing of children is dependent on harmony between a husband and a wife. This chapter also says that perseverance and faithfulness may convince a spouse to become a believer. From verses 17-24 advice is provided that we must give diligent service in the calling in which we have been called; whether single, or married. This is followed by advice for the widows and unmarried. The objective of being devoted and undistracted servants. Should this not be maintained, then marry – but only to a believer.

Psalm 50 is a Psalm of Asaph, who was the recorder (or secretary) at the time of David's kingship over all Israel. He rejoices in the fact that God Himself is the Judge. See the reverence for the Almighty Asaph has in the use of many titles for his Sovereign in verse 1. The earth is commanded to listen to God, who shines forth from the glory of His future sanctuary in Zion (the blessed Jerusalem of the Kingdom Age). The LORD will come with a terrifying vengeance. The heavens and the earth are His witnesses. His faithful saints will be there assisting in the establishing of God's authority. By accepting His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, through belief of the Truth and baptism; they have become His Covenant people. He judges His people in an incontestable way, since He is God. He doesn't need either their sacrifices, or offerings, since every living creature belongs to the Creator. He doesn't negotiate with lowly humans. There is absolutely nothing that we can give Him to atone for our sins. But, there is something that we can give to Him – full hearted thanksgiving. One writer, I Collier, in a poem in his book “Conviction and Conduct” wrote, “Give God Thy heart, tis all that He doth ask”. Those who humbly submit to Him will be delivered out of their troubles. By contrast He scorns the wicked by telling them that it will be useless to hypothetically call upon Him. He has not judged them yet; but will surely do so soon. The psalm concludes in verse 23. Slowly read these words aloud and contemplate what they are teaching. Romans 3 turns attention to the Jewish people who were agreeing with every word Paul had uttered of the depravity among the Gentiles. They, too, were without excuse as they had the Word of God in their midst and yet were just as corrupt. From verses 9-20 Paul advances seven Scriptures supporting this. Then from verses 21-31 he proves that there is only one righteousness, and that on the basis of belief. What is required is a submission to the only way of declaring us to be right with God. This includes a confession that human beings are rightly related to death as we are incurably sinful. Additionally we confess that our Potentate only is righteous and strengthened His Son to accomplish what was humanly impossible. On the basis of the acceptance of these truths and our identification with the Lord Jesus Christ in whom they have been outworked forgiveness of sins is provided.Chapter 4 illustrates that through the lives of David and Abraham there is absolutely nothing we can do to be saved by works ie our own merits. God's condition for forgiveness involves our acceptance of this truth and confession of our failures if we are to receive the blessings of forgiveness and to be inheritors of the promised Kingdom that will be, as verse 13 indicated, international. What is recorded was not for the sakes of those in the recorded Scriptures, but indeed for our sakes. Penned by Warwick Rosser and his team, produced by Christadelphianvideo.org
Genesis 46 tells of the arrival Jacob's family's in Egypt and gives their names and number – 66 persons who came from Israel's procreation. Together with Israel and his 3 of his 4 wives 70 people in all came into Egypt. The chapter concludes with Israel and Joseph being joyfully reunited. Chapter 47 tells of their presentation to Pharaoh – in particular Israel's words of blessing upon Pharaoh. Pharaoh invites them to settle in Goshen and supervise his own livestock herds. Israel told Pharaoh that his family have been sojourners. Pharaoh responded in generously allocating land in Goshen – the territory of his favoured priests. Verses 13-26 describe Joseph's wise dealings with the Egyptians during the last 5 years of the famine. By his just actions he acquired most of the land and labour in Egypt, except for the priestly lands. Verses 27-31 tell of Israel's family settling in Egypt and Jacob's (Israel's) death aged 147 years. Before his death Israel gave charge faithfully to Joseph that upon dying Israel would be buried in the Promised Land (verse 31 compare Hebrews 11 verses 21-22). One reason that the Genesis record devotes so many chapters to the life of Joseph, Saviour of his brethren and the world, is to help us appreciate the work of reconciliation that our Lord will consummate with his brethren, the Jews. Christ will “speak comfortably” to his people: Hosea 2:14. The emotions of our Lord and his people in the future are beautifully depicted in the scene of reconciliation portrayed in these chapters in Genesis. It's not the years in your life that count but the life in those years—and that life comes from God.
Jesus Ministries, Joan Boney ... Many people get stingier as they get older. They trust in themselves. They cut back and are afraid to spend money now that they don't earn as much as they did when they were younger. They begin to talk about living on "a fixed income." (I really hate it when I hear someone say this for most of us live on "fixed incomes" throughout our lives.) What does the Bible say about money? I Timothy 6 5 Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself. 6 But godliness with contentment is great gain. 7 For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. 8 And having food and raiment let us be therewith content. 9 But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. 10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. 11 But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness. (If you are in debt, you probably have a love of money and follow after money without recognizing it. If you are caught up in buying on sale, you likely are led by money more than you know. If you buy because of price, you are likely led by money.) 12 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. 13 I give thee charge in the sight of God, who quickeneth all things, and before Christ Jesus, who before Pontius Pilate witnessed a good confession; 14 That thou keep this commandment without spot, unrebukeable, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ: 15 Which in his times he shall shew, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords; 16 Who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be honour and power everlasting. Amen. 17 Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy; 18 That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate; 19 Laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life. 20 O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called: (When I began receiving $500 a month Social Security monthly checks, I quit taking a salary from the ministry. The ministry paid my rent and I could live on my social security monthly checks paying for my personal needs.) This recording concerns money and following after money and how corrupting it is to do that.

Jesus Ministries, Joan Boney ... * Not conformed to this world ... don't copy this world. don't live the way of this world or by worldly sayings. Some people try to be "fashionable", dressing to current style. But for women especially, this could lead you to go against that which God teaches women in the Bible. 2 Timothy 2:9 (Paul says) In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array; 10 But (which becometh women professing godliness) with good works. A few years ago, there was a dress which was made to give the image that the woman's underclothing were showing on top ... One of our church group enjoyed being fashionable and she appeared wearing that type of dress. I said to her, "You should not be wearing that." (it was sexually suggestive and had even been formed by the dress manufacture deliberately to be that way.) * modest apparel: dressing so as to avoid impropriety, especially to avoid attracting sexual attention to one's self; clothing not revealing or emphasizing or drawing attention to an area of their body

Finding the Right Hope in Christ Alone1 Timothy 1:1-3Do you know fellow believers who are not of your physical family, but they're just like family? Isn't this awesome? There is a reason for that. Ephesians 4:16 & 1 Corinthians 12:12-27. This book of 1 Timothy is written out of a relationship like that. vs. 2Paul deals with this issue of hope in the very first verse of the book. The word “hope” means “anticipation; expectation; confidence.” It's not a wishy-washy, maybe so, probably so type of thing. It is a steadfast confidence. If your hope today lies in your job, your money, your house, your stocks and bonds, your religion, or your relationships, you are on a shaky foundation. Christ is your hope. Why is finding the right hope only found in Christ alone?First, Christ alone is Savior. The word “Savior” means “deliverer.” What do we need to be saved from? The Bible is clear. We need to be saved from our sins and the destruction that will come to this present evil world from the hand of God. Galatians 1:4Did you know Christ desires to be your Savior? He alone is Savior because He alone was God in the flesh, dying for our sins.Christ alone is Savior because He is the only One that abolished death. When Christ appeared, it was a wonderful day for this world. There was now hope, a way to be eternally delivered from death, a way to escape it, and a way to overcome it. 1 Thessalonians 5:9-10Why is finding the right hope only found in Christ alone?Second, Christ alone is Lord.Notice in verse 1 that Paul refers to Jesus as “Lord Jesus Christ.” Again in verse 2, he refers to him as “Jesus Christ our Lord.” The term “Lord”means “absolute authority.” cf. 6:15Jesus is called the “only Potentate [ruler]” and “Lord of lords.”Why is finding the right hope only found in Christ alone?Third, Christ alone can reconcile sinners. As we said, Christ alone is Savior. It is Jesus Christ that saves sinners. vs. 15How can that gap be bridged? We desperately need somebody who can mediate and bring peace with God for human beings that are sinners. There is now a way to find grace, mercy, and peace with God. If you have trusted Christ as your Savior, do you know what happened the moment you got saved? You received:Grace – You became an object of God's favor by faith in Christ alone.Mercy – You were released from the sentence of judgment you deserved.Peace – You were brought into a position of complete peace with God.Only Jesus Christ could do this for you. That is why Christ alone is our hope. 1 Tim. 6:12-16 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses. I urge you in the sight of God who gives life to all things, and before Christ Jesus who witnessed the good confession before Pontius Pilate, that you keep this commandment without spot, blameless until our Lord Jesus Christ's appearing, which He will manifest in His own time, He who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings and Lord of lords, who alone has immortality, dwelling in unapproachable light, whom no man has seen or can see, to whom be honor and everlasting power.

The Lord Jesus is the King of kings, and Lord of Lords. When He was born, the Bible says, “…there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem, Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him” (Matthew 2:1-2). He didn't become a king; He was born a king. In John 18, we find His own testimony when Pilate asked Him, “Art thou a king then?” Jesus responded, “… Thou sayest that I am a king…” (John 18:37). His response meant, “You're right.” He spoke in the affirmative. In fact, in the 39th verse, speaking to the Jews, Pilate confirmed Jesus' affirmation when he said, “…will ye therefore that I release unto you the King of the Jews?” Had Jesus denied being a King, Pilate wouldn't call Him the King of the Jews. In Acts 2:30, speaking to an audience, Peter said, “Therefore being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him (David), that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up Christ to sit on his throne.” In John 12:13, upon His triumphal entry into Jerusalem, the crowds extravagantly honoured Him and praised God for sending this King into Jerusalem. They cried out, “… Hosanna: Blessed is the King of Israel that cometh in the name of the Lord.” Of course, the elders of the Jews were offended and told Him to silence those who praised Him and received Him as King (Luke 19:39). But Jesus responded, “…If they kept quiet, the stones along the road would burst into cheers” (Luke 19:40 NLT). In other words, even the stones will affirm the same. Hallelujah! The Lord Jesus is the exalted God, the immortal God, living in unapproachable light of divine glory. There's none like Him. We're not serving a mere religious leader, but one who is King and Monarch of the universe. He has all authority in heaven, in earth, and under the earth. Be unapologetic in your identity with Him, and speak boldly of Him. Glory to His Name forever! PRAYER Dear Lord Jesus, you're the King eternal, immortal, with all power, glory and majesty. You're the joy of heaven and hope of the earth. You're the Most High God, who alone is worthy of all praise, honour and adoration. You're King of the ages. I worship you today and forever. Amen. FURTHER STUDY: 1 Timothy 6:13-16 (KJV) – 13 I give thee charge in the sight of God, who quickeneth all things, and before Christ Jesus, who before Pontius Pilate witnessed a good confession; 14 That thou keep this commandment without spot, unrebukable, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ: 15 Which in his times he shall shew, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords; 16 Who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be honour and power everlasting. Amen. John 12:12-15 (KJV) – 12 On the next day much people that were come to the feast, when they heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem, 13 Took branches of palm trees, and went forth to meet him, and cried, Hosanna: Blessed is the King of Israel that cometh in the name of the Lord. 14 And Jesus, when he had found a young ass, sat thereon; as it is written, 15 Fear not, daughter of Sion: behold, thy King cometh, sitting on an ass's colt. 1-YEAR BIBLE READING PLAN 1 Thessalonians 2:17-3:1-13 & Isaiah 57-58 2-YEAR BIBLE READING PLAN Hebrews 6:1-10 & Ezekiel 7 To give towards sponsoring free copies please kindly click the below link https://buy.stripe.com/bIYcOj8vQepC3eM6op

Do you know that our presidential elections haven't been Constitutional since 1844? And do you know that Alexander Hamilton warned us of foreign enemy implants in places of governmental positions, especially in the position of President? Yes, these things are true! We have been given the command by God and by our founders to be vigilant and to be stewards of God's word. God has asked us to put on Christ and to honor Him through our decisions. That includes the decision to vote for honest and able candidates. I discuss these things and more in the latest episode of Rooted to Truth! Tune in to listen. When we read the above verses about this great event called the Second Coming, we can't help but notice the emphasis on the names of Jesus. Bible scholars have identified over 700 names and titles of God in the Bible. Our God and Savior, Jesus Christ is so awesome and great, that one name or even a hundred names is not enough to describe and reveal His character and attributes! And all His names find their fulfillment and greatest glory in the Person and work of Jesus Christ! He is "Faithful and True" (see Rev. 3:14), in contrast to "the beast" who was unfaithful (he broke the covenant with Israel) and false (he ruled by means of deception and idolatry). Suffering saints need to be reminded that God is faithful and will not desert them, because His promises are true. Perhaps the "secret name" (see Rev. 19:12) is the same as the "new name" (Rev. 3:12). Not knowing what this name is, we cannot comment on it; but it is exciting to know that, even in heaven, we shall learn new things about our Lord Jesus! "The Word of God" is one of the most familiar names of our Lord in Scripture. Just as we reveal our minds and hearts to others by our words, so the Father reveals Himself to us through His Son, the incarnate Word. John had previously written about this name in John 1:1-3, 14: “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made…. And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.” Now John once again sees His glory as Jesus comes on a white horse in great power, and is told that, “His name is called The Word of God.” A word is made up of letters, and Jesus Christ is "Alpha and Omega" (Rev. 21:6; 22:13). He is the "divine alphabet" of God's revelation to us. The Word of God is "living and powerful" (Heb. 4:12); what's more, it fulfills His purposes on earth (Rev. 17:17; note also Rev. 6:11; 10:7; 15:1). Jehovah Himself says, "I am watching to see that My Word is fulfilled" (Jer. 1:12). Just as the Word was the Father's Agent in Creation (John 1:1-3), so the Word is His Agent for judgment and consummation. Christ's most important name is "King of kings, and Lord of lords"(Rev. 19:16). This is His victorious name (Rev. 17:14), and it brings to mind references such as Daniel 2:47, where the great Babylonian King Nebuchadnezzar, acknowledged Daniel's God: “The king answered Daniel, and said, "Truly your God is the God of gods, the Lord of kings, and a revealer of secrets, since you could reveal this secret." Paul used this same title for our Lord Jesus Christ in 1 Timothy 6:13-15: “I urge you in the sight of God who gives life to all things, and before Christ Jesus who witnessed the good confession before Pontius Pilate, that you keep this commandment without spot, blameless until our Lord Jesus Christ's appearing, which He will manifest in His own time, He who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings and Lord of lords…”. The title speaks of Christ's sovereignty, for all kings and lords must submit to Him. I love what Paul also wrote in Philippians 2:9-11: “Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” May we humbly bow before Him even today! God Bless!

Saturday, 2 July 2022 So he arose and went. And behold, a man of Ethiopia, a eunuch of great authority under Candace the queen of the Ethiopians, who had charge of all her treasury, and had come to Jerusalem to worship, Acts 8:27 The previous verse detailed Philip's commission by the messenger of the Lord to go on the desert road to Gaza. Luke now continues with a note concerning his immediate obedience, saying, “So he arose and went.” Philip is being given a charge completely separate and distinct from Peter and the other apostles. He was part of the dispersion noted early in Acts 8 and he was found faithful in opening his mouth and proclaiming the gospel to the mixed-race of Samaritans. Certainly because of his zeal for telling others the good news of Christ he is commissioned to pass on this same good news again. That is seen with the next words, “And behold, a man of Ethiopia.” There is an immense amount of speculation concerning who this person is in relation to Judaism, but Luke – the most meticulous of chroniclers – says nothing of his being of Israelite descent or of him being a proselyte, both of which he carefully records concerning others elsewhere. Rather, he simply calls him a man of Ethiopia. Vincent's Word Studies provides additional insights into the word “Ethiopia” – “The name for the lands lying south of Egypt, including the modern Nubia, Cordofan, and Northern Abyssinia. Rawlinson speaks of subjects of the Ethiopian queens living in an island near Mero, in the northern part of this district. He further remarks: ‘The monuments prove beyond all question that the Ethiopians borrowed from Egypt their religion and their habits of civilization. They even adopted the Egyptian as the language of religion and of the court, which it continued to be till the power of the Pharaohs had fallen, and their dominion was again confined to the frontier of Ethiopia. It was through Egypt, too, that Christianity passed into Ethiopia, even in the age of the apostles, as is shown by the eunuch of Queen Candace.'” As for the term anér, or man, it is a general word used to signify a male human. Nothing more should be read into it. To say anything more is to insert into the narrative something unintended by the record itself. He is next called a eunouchos, a eunuch. The word comes from eune (a bed) and echo (to have or possess). As such, it is a person who possesses the bed of another. Scholars, in an attempt to claim he is something other than what is stated, will stretch the meaning of what Luke is clearly conveying. He is a castrated person who attended to the bed of another. He is next noted as being “of great authority.” The Greek word is dunastés, a word connected to our modern word “dynasty.” It signifies a potentate or a mighty leader. Paul uses it in 1 Timothy 6:15 when describing Jesus as “the blessed and only Potentate.” In the case of this man, he is a member of the court “under Candace.” Rather than a name, this is a title used only here in the Bible, Kandaké. Like the term Pharaoh, it is a term used as the dynastic title for the queens of Ethiopia. As such, the person now being described is a high-level official and a eunuch assigned under her. Next, the term Kandaké is explained with the words, “the queen of the Ethiopians.” This would be comparable to saying, “Pharaoh, the king of Egypt,” as is seen quite frequently in the Old Testament and even once in Acts 7:10. This man, who is a eunuch under Candace is the one “who had charge of all her treasury.” This indicates that he was not only powerful in authority, but he was a trustworthy man as well. His position put him over all her treasures. The word used, gaza, is found only here. It is a Persian word adopted by the Greeks and Latins to indicate the treasures and wealth she possessed. Finally, it says of this person that he “had come to Jerusalem to worship.” The immediate conclusion is that some claim this “proves” that he was a proselyte. Rather, this only proves that he came to Jerusalem to worship, but that can actually mean almost anything as people go to “worship” all over the world and for a variety of reasons. Jews went up on the hills of Israel to worship and get closer to whatever god they were worshipping at the time. If he was a proselyte, Luke would have carefully stated it, as he did in Acts 2:10, 6:5, and 13:43. Further, it is claimed that he was there to worship on Passover (Barnes), Pentecost (Cambridge, etc.), as was stated in Acts 2. These same scholars have already said in their commentaries that a long and/or unknown time has passed since Acts 2. It could have been years at this point. There is nothing recorded by Luke concerning the reason that he came other than to worship. Also, being a eunuch, according to Deuteronomy 23:1, he was not acceptable to be counted among the assembly of Israel. Like the Ethiopian Ebed-Melech recorded in Jeremiah, he was not a part of the assembly, even if he was living in the land. This Ethiopian Eunuch may have been worshipping the Lord, like Ebed-Melech, with his heart, even if he was not acceptable under the law. Like Ebed-Melech, he will receive a special note of favor from the Lord for his attentiveness to Him (see Jeremiah 39:15-18). Life application: A few points about this verse, if hyperdispensationalism were true, which it is not, the church would have begun with Philip, not with Paul. This is because he is the first noted as evangelizing a Gentile. However, the church did not begin with Philip either. It began in Acts 2 and both Philip now, and Paul in the verses to come, are (or will be) carrying out the tasks set before them to continue the growth of what the Lord is doing. There is a specific reason for the selection of this Ethiopian and the evangelization of him now. It will be noted in the verses ahead, and it is specifically to complete a pattern that was laid down in the early Genesis account. Secondly, the words “man” and “eunuch” are both used concerning this individual. According to this account in the Bible a man, even if he is physically changed through emasculation, remains a man. Cutting off body parts or being crazy in one's head and thinking you are not what you were born as does not change what you are. In today's world, people claim they are something other than what they were designed by God to be. They even go to extreme lengths to physically alter themselves in order to be “something else.” But they are what they are. The only difference is that they no longer properly conform physically to what they are. Heavenly Father, help us to have right thinking concerning our doctrine so that our doctrine will be right. In straying from proper doctrine, our doctrine will be wrong. As such, only we will suffer, but Your word and its intent for us remains the same. Help us in this, O God. Help us to pursue Your word according to how it is presented. Amen.

Tuesday, 31 May 2022 But he, being full of the Holy Spirit, gazed into heaven and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God, Acts 7:55 The words of the previous verse said that upon hearing the words of Stephen, those who heard them “were cut to the heart, and they gnashed at him with their teeth.” With that said, Luke next notes, “But he.” It is referring to Stephen. He is set in contrast to those who were like enraged animals snarling at him. Instead, it says of him, “being full of the Holy Spirit.” This was just as promised by Jesus. First, it is a reminder that everything Stephen had said has been under the influence of the Spirit and in accord with His intents – “Now when they bring you to the synagogues and magistrates and authorities, do not worry about how or what you should answer, or what you should say. 12 For the Holy Spirit will teach you in that very hour what you ought to say.” Luke 12:11, 12 Also, it is an indication that Stephen was covered in the peace that can only come from being filled with the Holy Spirit – “But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you. 27 Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” John 14:26, 27 As this is so, it also confirms that this council of leaders did not have the Holy Spirit to guide them. Instead, they stood as enemies of God because of their rejection of Christ. Stephen had said, “You always resist the Holy Spirit” (Acts 7:51). This truth is borne out in the filling of Stephen, of whose words they rejected. As Jesus said – “If you love Me, keep My commandments. 16 And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever— 17 the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. 18 I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.” John 14:15-18 Next, in this state of being filled with the Holy Spirit, Luke says that Stephen “gazed into heaven.” It is the natural reaction of someone who is at his wit's end. As humans, we may look away from something in disgust, we may look down in dejection, or we may look to heaven in hope of relief or to refocus our thoughts on higher things. It is the state that David wrote about – “My voice You shall hear in the morning, O Lord; In the morning I will direct it to You, And I will look up.” Psalm 5:3 Stephen, finding no reassurance in the reaction from the council, lifted his eyes unto heaven “and saw the glory of God.” It is the hope of the human soul. We look to heaven in hopes of discernment, relief, and stabilization of our thoughts, but we do so not really expecting to see anything but the roof of the building we are in or the expanse of the sky under which we stand. However, Stephen was given the relief for his soul that countless others of the past had hoped to find – “Unto You I lift up my eyes, O You who dwell in the heavens. 2 Behold, as the eyes of servants look to the hand of their masters, As the eyes of a maid to the hand of her mistress, So our eyes look to the Lord our God, Until He has mercy on us. 3 Have mercy on us, O Lord, have mercy on us! For we are exceedingly filled with contempt. 4 Our soul is exceedingly filled With the scorn of those who are at ease, With the contempt of the proud.” Psalm 123 In his looking up and beholding the glory of God, we are then given an insight into the exaltation of the Lord Jesus through what Stephen saw. Luke records that he saw the glory of God “and Jesus standing at the right hand of God.” Several key points can be determined from this. One is that seeing the glory of God does not mean that a person has seen God. Both Paul and John confirm this – “I urge you in the sight of God who gives life to all things, and before Christ Jesus who witnessed the good confession before Pontius Pilate, 14 that you keep this commandment without spot, blameless until our Lord Jesus Christ's appearing, 15 which He will manifest in His own time, He who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings and Lord of lords, 16 who alone has immortality, dwelling in unapproachable light, whom no man has seen or can see, to whom be honor and everlasting power. Amen.” 1 Timothy 6:13-16 “No one has seen God at any time. If we love one another, God abides in us, and His love has been perfected in us.” 1 John 4:12 Stephen saw the glory that let him know that God is there, even if He cannot be seen. Another point we can learn from this is one that has already been revealed earlier in Acts where Peter said, “Therefore being exalted to the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, He poured out this which you now see and hear” (Acts 2:33). To be at the right hand is not a physical location. God does not have parts. Rather, it signifies being at the position of all power and authority. It is a confirmation of the deity of Jesus. He is the physical manifestation of who God is. Through Him, the unseen God becomes knowable and understandable. Thirdly, it says that this Jesus, who appears in the position of authority and power as He dwells in the glory of God, is standing. Acts has already said that Jesus is seated at the right hand of God (Acts 2:34). It is also recorded several times in the gospels, in Ephesians, and in Hebrews. This then reveals to us that a change has taken place. A potentate will sit on his throne as a sign of rule and authority. For him to rise to a standing position will signify the bestowal of an honor, such as the knighting of a person or the crowning of an authority figure under him. It may even occur as a sign of welcoming someone to whom the king is intimately connected – “Bathsheba therefore went to King Solomon, to speak to him for Adonijah. And the king rose up to meet her and bowed down to her, and sat down on his throne and had a throne set for the king's mother; so she sat at his right hand.” 1 Kings 2:19 Jesus, who is at the position of all authority and power, sitting at the right hand of God while dwelling in His glory, arose. It is a sign of welcoming family, of the closest friendship, and of honoring His subordinate. It is to confer a crown – the crown of life – upon him, and to welcome him into his new home. It is the mark of honor to the person whom Scripture will reveal is the church's first martyr. Life application: If any set of verses in Scripture shows us the affection of the Lord for His people, it is these verses concerning the coming death of Stephen. The Lord rose to acknowledge the one who would be His first recorded martyr. He will rise again someday when the last saint of the church age is brought into the number to be saved. At that moment, the call will go forth, and the church will be brought to Him. Jesus is aware of every single person who is His. The deaths of His saints are not only known to Him, but they are being carefully recorded and tallied. Each brings us one count closer to the moment that our faith in Him has promised will come – “For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. 18 Therefore comfort one another with these words.” 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18 For the Lord to descend from heaven, He must first arise from the place of His sitting. Arise, Lord! Come for Your people. Even so, come, Lord Jesus. Heavenly Father, You have sent Your Son to complete a mission and to call Him back to Your throne in heaven. But someday, He will arise from that throne to gather His people together. We long for that day, and may it be soon. Until then, give us patience as we live out our lives in hopeful anticipation of that glorious day. Amen.

Shriners. A.A.O.N.M.S. Initials in a different order spells, "A Mason" There are 191 Shrine Temples 1+9+1 = 11. Crowley said 11 is the number of magick, & you can do your own thinking about the September 11th connection. The first Shriner temple organized in Sept., 1872, was named "Mecca", the "holy" city of the Muslim religion and birthplace of Muhammad. Mecca is the very center of the Islam faith. Everyday, Muslims around the world, face towards Mecca, and bow down to pray to their idol. Each Temple or Shrine, has a "Potentate" and a "High Priest and Prophet". Shriners are sometimes referred to as thirty-second and a half degree Masons. Scarlet, & The Beastgv Presidents Harry Truman, & Gerald Ford were both Shriners, & Jesters, Fl Congressman Gus Billirackus, TN Representative Jimmy Duncan was as well. http://masonbusters.com/ Shriners are well known for their "Shriner Circus" where they claim to raise money for their burn hospitals. In June, 1986, a daily newspaper in Florida, the Orlando Sentinel reported that less than 2% of the circus money raised actually went to the hospitals and that, by 1982, the Shriners had become the richest charity in America, amassing $1.2 billion in assets. Of the $17.5 million raised in 1984, $17.3 million went into their own pockets while only $182,051 went to support the hospitals. The Shriner hospitals are a "front" appealing to compassionate hearts in order to accumulate great wealth for the Shriners themselves. Kissing the Black Stone When Ishmael and his father, Abraham, built the National Shrine near the place where the Tabernade of Clouds stood an angel presented them with a dazzling White Stone, which they inserted in the wall of the Temple, and each year the worshipers would journey to Mecca to kiss this Stone. Today so many have kissed the Stone that it has become black, and is known as the Kaaba Stone or Black Stone of Casper. Our Ritual stipulates that you, in token of your sincerity, seal your obligations by kissing the Black Stone of Casper. No doubt many times you have stated that you would not “Kiss” anybody's “Hind Parts” to gain a favor. Well, it seems that you wanted to be a Shriner so bad that you were willing to kiss “The Black Stone of Casper.” “Shame on you.” Outline of Moslem Tests For Mystic Shrine Ceremonials Moslem Tests Required 1. The Satanic Rituals, LaVey describes one of the rites of Lucifer, called L'Air Epais. In English, it is translated as The Ceremony of the Stifling Air. LaVey writes: "A striking American parallel to this rite is enacted within the mosques of the Ancient Arabic Order of the Nobles of the Mystic Shrine, an order reserved for thirty-second degree Masons. The Nobles have gracefully removed themselves from any implications of heresy by referring to the place beyond the Devil's Pass as the domain where they might 'worship at the shrine of Islam'." Masonry uses Humanitarian Activities to Further Covert Goals Masons, particularly groups like the Shrine, are known primarily for their humanitarian activities (i.e. children's hospitals). Certainly we can all be thankful for such activities on behalf of these children and all needy persons. But, unfortunately, this is not the whole issue, and a number of sources have questioned the use of funds donated for such causes. The Southaven, Michigan, Daily Tribune of April 24, 1987, revealed that even though the Shrine is the richest charity in the nation, it gave its twenty-two hospitals for children less than one-third of the total amount collected from the public in 1984. The remainder was spent on travel, entertainment, fraternal ceremonies, fund-raising, food, and so on. In other words, the Shriners allegedly kept 71 percent of $21.7 million raised. Circuses sponsored by the Shrine generated $23 million in 1985, but less than 2 percent went to the medical care of children. The Orlando Sentinel, June 29, 1986, ran a special four-part series on its sixmonth investigation into Shrine charity expenditures, confirming the above statistics through IRS records. Also in 1984, the Shrine hospitals received only 1 percent of an estimated $17.5 million collected from Shrine circuses. Freemasonry On Trial See Illuminati Unmasked Kindle "Shrine On You Crazy Diamond" The symbol of the Order is a crescent moon, made from the claws of a Bengal tiger, engraved with a pyramid, an urn and a pentagram. The crescent is suspended from a scimitar and in the Order is a representation of the Universal Mother worshipped in ancient times as Isis. The horns of the crescent point downwards because it represents the setting moon of the old faith at the rising of the Sun of the new religion of the brotherhood of humanity.” — The Occult Conspiracy, p.93 [emphasis mine] [xx] Ralph Epperson, New World Order Another Mason who approved of the merger (of the Bavarian Illuminati w/ Freemasonry) was Dr. Walter M. Fleming, one of the four founders of the Shrine, (Shriners) an organization that is part of the Masonic fraternity. He and three other Masons formed this organization in 1871, and he assisted in the preparation of a history of the Shrine in 1893. In that book, Dr. Fleming wrote: "Among the modern promoters of the principles of the Order [the Shrine] in Europe, one of the most noted was Herr Adam Weishaupt ... professor of law at the University of Ingolstadt, in Bavaria ... who revived the Order in that city on May 1, 1776. Its members exercised a profound influence before and during the French Revolution, when they were known as the Illuminati." Dr. Fleming, a 33rd degree Mason, was recognizing the founder of the Illuminati as a "reviver of the Order." His quote comes from a book entitled PARADE TO GLORY, written by Fred Van Deventer, which appears to be given to each new member of the Shrine. Shriners should be the most enlightened, & illuminated?
