Two dads that are middling golfers inviting you on a quick guys trip where we shoot the shit about life, sports and our favorite hobby, golf.
We welcome back Bandon caddie Blair Donahue as we recap our round at trails and he gives us a preview of what to expect from Old Mac
Grant shoots a career best 80 and Nick goes viral for his take on golf course etiquette. Also we have a round this week with Twitter personalities Mike in the Couv and Off the Grid
We are joined by Average Dad of Twitter fame for a wide ranging conversation covering golf, playing at a club, having kids, how to improve your game and much more.
While not our favorite course on property (Grant's takes are potentially offensive) we do admire the thoughtfulness of the design and the diabolical bunkering of Tom Doak.
Nick is back and feeling frisky as we break down the course at Bandon OG. Spoiler alert....there's BUNKERS EVERYWHERE
We talk to our caddie Blair about all things caddie.
We discuss what we both feel was our favorite course on property, Bandon Trails. Dunes to meadow to forest. It's own Amen Corner. A stretch of holes like going into the Colosseum in Rome where Bill Coore basically thumbs downed us.
We do our best to preview, and walk through our round at Sheep Ranch without talking about how we specifically did on each hole.
The guys finally made it to Bandon. Here we talk about the food and drink situation. Overall impressions of the resort and staff. Accommodations and shuttle service. Killing time at the punchbowl and the creatures that are lurking at the Bunker Bar.
It is Bandon week for the Slice Guys!!!! The boys break down the Masters with a laundry list of random thoughts. Nick tells an incredible story about his grandpa's visit to see Fred Couples win it in 1992. Grant rants about how quickly people want to elevate and drop guys in the rankings. Nick picks between a round at Augusta or an unprecedented all-access pass for 5 years.
Back from 2 weeks off, the boys talk about a high scoring round at Langdon Farms that had a few positives. Thoughts on LIV vs PGA broadcasts. We love the match play. Grant's rant on false fronts. Nick picks between home simulator or par 3 in his back yard. Couple of inappropriate things we've heard on a golf course and what we have planned for the last week before we head to Bandon.
Nick takes another lesson. Grant tests his mettle at Salishan Golf Links. Recapping the Players. Grant's rant on fat caddies. Nick's pick of good or bad players for a random pairing. And as always we veer slightly off the rails towards the end.
The boys were fired up about the Arnold Palmer and had lots of random thoughts about it. Starting to think more about logistics for the Bandon trip. Grant's rant on slow play on the PGA Tour. Nick decides between winning a match or shooting the best round of his life. What does one call a ball that you hit into the neighbor's yard that they throw back to you?
Nick discusses the lead up to his first lesson and a snowy range session. We discuss LIV vs PGA and Honda vs Mayakoba even though Grant didn't watch. Rant on having to play through a group. Music vs No music on the course. And things get weird in the Heard on a Golf Course.
Making improvement to the swing in most cases. Recap of the Genesis Invitational. Is the 10th hole at Riviera good? Drinking vs Not Drinking during a round. Rant on Cart Path Only and 90 degree rule. And 47 meters deep movie review.
Updates on our golf games. Would you rather go to Pebble or Waste Management? Walking vs. Riding. And does anyone like Patrick Reed.
Intro into Slice Guys. What clubs we use, where we play, how bad we are. Cover our plans for improvement. Also listen to Grant's Rants about gimmies, Nick's pick of punching out vs over the trees and annoying golf sayings we've heard from playing partners.
