This is the story of Deranged Pork Disease; how six little pigs were driven to madness. We end the week back at “The Ranch” for a tragic tale of whole hog neglect. David Pratt returns to bear witness to the sad story of swine in rehab. In a place where everyone was forced to suffer, it was these poor pigs who still somehow suffered most. There are no vegetarian options here, I'm afraid, as today we're serving: Did You Know Pigs Can Go Insane? WHAT IS THE SLICE? Humble pie is best served hot—with a side of audacity—and often laced with jealousy or moral superiority. Frankly, I do not want a slice!! The truth? To the insecure, confidence looks like pride, and insecurity masquerades as humility. But real humility isn't thinking less of yourself—it's thinking of others more. Biblically, it's about valuing others above yourself, not denying your worth or shrinking your gifts. Confidence should never be mistaken for Pride. Unlike Pride it doesn't compare or lord itself over others; it simply walks with its head held high. True humility serves—without pretending to be small. So come, let's talk about the times I was served humble pie and why I have chosen to handle it like Barbie!

This week we are talking about Aharen is Indecipherable Season 1 as recommended by Jeb. And it is a show that is certainly a slow burn to say the least. And by that we mean if you go by the 3 episode rule for anime then you will certainly pass this one by as it takes about 5 episodes to really grab you. That is not to say that those first few episodes are not entertaining in their own way, just that they are not enough to grab you so that you watch the whole season. But once you get past that you do find the series enjoyable but even still in the podcast we can't help but get off track and go off on some tangents mainly because the show while it did have content it just was not very wide or deep. It was all very surface level.Next Week's Pick: "Aharen is Indecipherable Season 2"Have you had the chance to watch Aharen is Indecipherable Season 1 or any of our previous selections? The first harvest festival is upon us! Lammas, also known as Lughnasadh, is a time when the high energy of summer begins to slow. It's a moment to pause and asks ourselves, what have I grown? What do I wish to carry forward? And what will I choose to leave behind? Whether you're harvesting a literal or metaphorical garden, Lammas offers us the opportunity to intentionally prepare for the season to come. This week are talking about By the Grave of Gods Season 2 as recommended by Jeb. And this week it was a nice revisit for us and a break for what we have been watching. The show is overall was solid and picked up right where season 1 left off so if you are watching the series all together at the same time. That being said the story was pretty straight forward no surprises or anything like but we did have some questions that we know we will never get answers to but still it was fun to think about. All in all though we found the story solid enough but it was not with out it's flaws but even with that they are not that big and can be over looked.Next Week's Pick: "Aharen is Indecipherable"Have you had the chance to watch By the Grave of Gods Season 2 or any of our previous selections? What happens when a child falls years behind in reading and writing? This week’s episode of The Happy Families Podcast dives into one of the most talked-about moments from Parental Guidance: the Life School parents’ children struggling with basic literacy. Justin and Kylie share why reading matters so much, how to help children who resist school and learning, and practical steps for parents who feel overwhelmed when their child is falling behind. If you’ve ever worried about your child’s progress—or felt judged by others—this conversation will give you hope, empathy, and a clear path forward. KEY POINTS: Reading is a gateway to learning, and kids need to see, hear, and engage with books daily. Many families lack books in the home—screens have crowded them out. Literacy struggles can stem from earlier traumatic or negative schooling experiences, creating resistance. Avoidance of learning challenges often worsens anxiety; action and support are crucial. There is no quick fix—progress takes time, love, and the right support network. Collaboration with schools is vital, but sometimes alternative schooling or tutors may be necessary. Motivation often follows competence—find what your child loves to learn and build on that. Above all, children need to know that they are loved, supported, and not alone in their struggle. QUOTE OF THE EPISODE: "Readers are leaders, and leaders are readers. But before anything else, your child needs to know you love them, no matter how hard the journey gets."
