Let's dive deep on our first official Long talk with Darren O'Donnell. Now that we know Darren from the first 3 parts I thought it would be interesting to dive into a question about how you would react if your hypothetical (or non-hypothetical) children decided they wanted to pursue an unconventional career. The question is always a juicy one to understand people's underlying thoughts. This end our ark with Darren and it was a wonderful time.
Now that we've gotten to know Darren O'Donnell from the first 2 parts of Episode 1 (but really an Ark and Journey) we break into some small talk about Darren's support from his parents and sacrifices made as a result. Stay tuned for next week when we dive into a long talk about hypothetical children that want to pursue the arts.
Darren O'Donnell is back for part 2 of his story and background. This story episode explores Darren's work in depth with kids on Haircuts by Children and his work with the elderly on All the Sex I've Ever Had. Both amazing and interesting projects!Stay tuned for next episode where we dive into STLT style questions - After knowing Darren's story, what would you ask him?Learn more about Darren O'Donnell http://www.darrenodonnell.ca and Mammalian Diving Reflex https://mammalian.ca before next episode!

Reluctant good friend Angela Oh is back this week for Part 2 of the 2 part episode. We continue the discussion about my definition of success - although purposely broad I always check with it to ensure I'm moving in the right direction. Angela and I met in highschool and have reluctantly stayed friends until today, jokes aside she has always been a great friend and continues to be today. She typically provides great insights and exemplifies the small talk, long talk sort of discussions that we have when we meet up. The friendship stands as a testament that people who you care for somehow tend to stick around in life. Angela joins in again today in Episode 9 Part 2 to talk about our definition of success at this point in time and why we have a different vested interest in other people's success, and if University rankings matter very much in hindsight. I learned a lot about a long time friend in a short period of time with the questions posed and I hope you can do the same as well while listening - so enjoy!
One of my longest standing reluctant best friends Angela Oh joins us this week. We met in high school back in grade 10 and were close friends until shortly after graduating where we discussed that neither of us would likely have the time or effort to remain good friends since we no longer were in proximity ... yet ... here we are 6 years later. Angela and I continuously have interesting discussions as we have grown throughout the years. The friendship stands as a testament that people who you care for somehow tend to stick around in life. Our discussion today exemplifies the small talk, long talk sort of discussions that you can explore despite knowing someone for years on end since everyone is constantly growing and changing. Angela joins today in Episode 9 Part 1 to talk about what makes us feel like we're back in Toronto and our definition of success at this point in time. I learned a lot about a long time friend in a short period of time with the questions posed and I hope you can do the same as well while listening - so enjoy!
Rate and Review Small Talk Long Talk at - http://bit.ly/SmalltalkLongtalkStitcher Ex-Coworker of my first office job and long time friend Joey Qin joins us this week. Since we met at a Canadian Accounting firm in Mississauga during our 4 month co-op term we have remained friends throughout the years. He was always a stone throw away in Waterloo and we would pass the time playing squash, going out for meals, drinking activities and talking about our dating lives. Our discussion today exemplifies the small talk, long talk sort of discussions that we have every now and again when we need to catch up. Our friendship stands as a testament that despite being in different locations and slightly different ages, you should never let that stop you from keeping in touch and reaching out for a great conversation. Joey joins today in Episode 8 to talk about our go-to dating app questions, our idea of a perfect date and the last time we had our minds blown. We shared a bunch of laughs during the episode, and I hope you do as well while listening - so enjoy!
Running friend Luca Giuliano is back this week for Part 2 of the 2 part episode. We continue the discussion about my latest failure in planning a work social - something that had haunted me the nights leading up to and after the event, however, discussing with Luca empowered me to own up to the situation and let it go after learning from it. Luca and I met at Night Terrors Run Crew (NTRC @nightterrorsrun), a Toronto based run crew, 8 months ago we have remained good friends with each other and our entire run crew. Luca has always been a great crewmember - always showing up to runs and bringing the positive vibes. Our discussion today exemplifies the small talk, long talk sort of discussions that we would have on runs or afterwards at post-run brunches. Our friendship stands as a testament that you should always try to put yourself out there and make new friends.Luca joins today in part 2 of episode 7 to continue our talk about my biggest failure, and our must visit travel destinations. I'm hyped to finally have the first of many NTRC members on the podcast, I hope you enjoy!

Jamie and Michelle join today to talk about our upcoming start to the decade 2020, useful and useless subjects in school, and our biggest pet peeves. I'm grateful to have these two on as our first group talk and I hope you enjoy.Recent friend and coworker, Jamie Jang and Michelle join us for this episode. Jamie and I met at work a couple months ago there has been a few opportunities for small talks over coffee. Although our conversations are typically work related we stopped today to discuss a new set of questions. On the other hand, Michelle is a friend of Jamie who I had just met the day of recording, a complete stranger than I had the pleasure of talking to. Our talk stands as an example that there is zero past knowledge needed for asking these questions, just willing and open minded parties.
Unlikely and good friend, Leanne Woodcock joins us for this episode. Since we met in our Capstone 1 two month group project, we have remained good friends with each other and our entire group. Leanne has always been a great mentor and friend, our discussion today exemplifies the small talk, long talk sort of foundations I build my friendships on. Our friendship stands as a testament that not all Group Projects are bad and that you never know where you'll find a friend.Leanne joins today to talk about the best gifts we've received, the hardest questions we've had to answer and parts of our personalities we feel like we have to amplify. I'm grateful to have her on as a first female guest and I hope you enjoy!
Long time friend, Brock Edwards joins us for this episode. Since we met in Resident Council in first year we have shared countless of fun and introspective conversations. We may have been in different cities for long periods of time but our friendship and discussions always manage to pick up right where we left off, and today is no different. Brock joins today to talk about unknown sides that may surprise others, lasting advice that we received in our lives thus far, and the difference between an acquaintance vs. a true friend. I'm excited to have him on as a guest and I hope you enjoy a more serious and introspective episode.
Recent friend and ex-coworker, Dave Chen joins us for this episode. Since we met at work a couple months ago there has been a few opportunities for small and long talks, especially closer to his departure. I'm grateful to have him on as a guest and I hope you enjoy.
