This podcast had to take an unexpected turn from what we had hoped it would turn out to be. We are both facing about 12 weeks of isolation as our school has closed, meaning we have had to record remotely (apologies for the poor audio quality), but we are trying to keep our spirits up and approach this difficult topic with an open mind, as we discuss the origins of the virus, the government's response, and our overwhelming appreciation for those working to battle it.
Publishing this episode in retrospect, we would like to apologise for the flippant way in which we discuss the virus. This was recorded before we became aware of the seriousness of the situation in the UK, which is why we would like to reiterate that we hope our ignorance does not offend anyone. Aside from that, we are joined in this episode by Kian and Davod, as we discuss whether you can ever truly have biased news, and express our anger at a certain controversial TV show for its irresponsible depiction of suicide.
In our first ever episode of The Common Ground Podcast, we introduce ourselves as Miranda and Sarra, joined by our good friend Ollie. We discuss topics ranging from an interesting incident that Sarra observed on the bus, to the obsessive nature of K-Pop fans, in an attempt to learn from each other's experiences and opinions, always with the aim of finding a common ground.
