Keith and Mike examine the nuances of modern dating with the clinical detachment of two men who've spent far too much time on dating apps. They begin by dissecting the increasingly common expectation for men to send daily "good morning" texts, a phenomenon Keith describes as both psychologically revealing and extremely stupid. Mike proposes outsourcing these texts to offshore call centers or an AI assistant, both of which he suspects would outperform the average man. The segment concludes with a meditation on communication as performance versus communication as evidence of actual affection. The conversation then drifts, as it often does, into a granular exploration of sexual technique, including thrusting strategies, vocal coaching, and the sociocultural ramifications of vigorous fingering. Keith offers a brief anatomical aside on the bone structure of mammalian penises, which is less of a non sequitur than it sounds. Mike draws a comparison between poorly instructed fingering and receiving directions like “touch me like a grapefruit,” which somehow makes sense in context. There is also a serious discussion of how women might coach men toward more satisfying encounters, though no conclusive solution is reached. From there, the hosts turn their attention to the challenges facing women in their mid-30s who are trying to find a long-term partner before their fertility window closes. Keith outlines a strategy he calls "industrialized dating," inspired by a friend who scheduled more than ten first dates per week and maintained a spreadsheet to keep track. Mike compares this to the scheduling practices of professional sex workers, which is meant as a compliment. They explore whether delaying sex can effectively filter out unserious suitors, or if it merely selects for the most patient ones. Finally, the hosts circle back to the central dilemma: how can women efficiently vet potential husbands without becoming either emotionally drained or what Mike refers to as "a sex worker for free." Various strategies are proposed, including cryptic date-countdown policies and ambiguous sexual timelines designed to disorient men just enough to reveal their true intentions. Keith recommends maximizing throughput. Twitter: @ymmvpod Facebook: ymmvpod Email: ymmvpod@gmail.com

It's been (nearly) five years since we started the podcast and, while we've been on a shamefully long hiatus, we thought it would be just about time we reflected on what exactly we've learned about sex and relationships. We discuss how our perception of sex, relationships, and friendship have evolved from the start of our 20s to our mid-20s (ew), from going after lots of sex at university for validation and attention, to discovering how sex fits into our lives as adults in evolving relationships.Honey tells us what she has learned through each relationship and breakup since starting the podcast, and her journey from being in a sex-heavy relationship, to celibacy, and eventually re-learning her pleasure. Maria explains how her six-year relationship has changed over the time, and reveals how being in a long-term relationship has impacted her sex life, and her own personal relationship with pleasure. We also briefly discuss how we approach friendships differently now, compared to when we were at uni, and what life should look like in your 20s versus our real life experiences. Finally, we comment on Gen Z attitudes to sex, and how much our sexuality is impacted by broader societal attitudes to sex in culture. Attitudes to sex have changed a lot since we started the podcast, and we're excited (and equally terrified...) by how it's going to evolve for us and, more importantly, for all of you! Thanks, as always, for listening

We don't have to look far to find examples of broken relationships. Many of us have our own stories, and almost all of us know someone with a story of brokenness, betrayal, or abuse. The Song of Songs offers us a vision of relationships in stark contrast to the self-serving models we see around us in culture. The celebration of intimacy in the Song of Song shows us that God's design for love and sex is deeply rooted in his own character and filled with self-sacrifice, mutuality, commitment, delight, and respect.

What do young adults today want from sex and relationships? And how is this different compared to generations past? To answer these questions, we’re going to dive into The State of Dating Report, a collaborative scientific analysis from the Kinsey Institute and Feeld, the dating app for the curious. We’re going to discuss why younger adults are having less sex overall but more kinky sex, how preferences for different types of relationships vary across generations, and more. I am joined by Dr. Nicole McNichols an Associate Teaching Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Washington. Nicole is the co-author of the textbook “Human Sexuality In A Diverse Society” and author of the forthcoming book “You Could Be Having Better Sex.” Some of the specific topics we discuss in this episode include: Why Gen Z is having less sex and fewer relationships compared to generations past. Why younger adults are more interested in monogamy than older adults. Why kinky sex is on the rise in Gen Z. How the sexual fantasies of younger and older adults compare. Why rates of LGBTQ+ identification are rising among young adults. You can learn more about Nicole’s work on her website, and be sure to check out her videos on TikTok as well. Got a sex question? Midlife is often a time of big transitions. Giving up alcohol can also create monumental shifts. As we move through these transitions, we sometimes leave parts of ourselves behind, and sometimes we leave others behind. My friend and fellow coach Aimee Ames has been on her own transitional journey, including going back to school to become a Functional Nutritionist, redefining her relationship with alcohol and ending a 23-year marriage. Along the way, Aimee discovered that 'you are your one true partner'. I love this saying as it reminds me of what I came to recognize in my own path: the one person who will be with you at the end, is you. I am excited to share this conversation with you. Aimee is an incredible human who shares her wisdom freely and shares the difficult parts as well. Amy also talked about her work with the Somatica Institute, training as an intimacy coach and a sex and relationship coach. Find out more in the Show Notes HERE

Dr. Juli Slattery returns to the podcast to debunk the unhealthy assumptions about marriage, sex, and relationships that many Christians have adopted from modern, secular culture. Rather than embracing these cultural views, we can humbly embrace what God has to say about things like sex, marriage, singleness, and the Church community. As we embrace God's design for these things, we are better equipped to bring truth and love to those who are broken, hurting, and confused. Are you prepared to make the case for life? This week's competition is all about sex and relationships. Lucy found Christians who are into BDSM and they do it the way it was meant to be done according to the bible. I brought in a show about not jerking it to porn, as if that's a thing. Andy did a deep dive exploration of Lana Rhoades. It's quite a journey. Lana went from a porn star who taught other women how to do anal to a poor victim who barely made $1.5M from an NFT scam... ALLEGEDLY! After the competition (don't forget to vote on our Patreon page) we move on to a cringe of the week featuring some amazing banter. Then we check in on Tom Myers who actually wrote something I would classify as a joke. But just one. And how did Tom find a cohost who is actually dumber and less funny than him? Also, Stuttering John had his heart broken by a woman who he's never met in person and only found out about a month or two ago. He's such a lonely, sad man. Which is fine, but that's the part of your life you should try to hide. Also, Cardiff joins us along with Annie as we poke a dabbler, read some reviews, and listen to the guys simp for Lucy on the voicemail segment.
