Want to know how the sausage was made? Well, in this week's episode of Action Surge, we reveal far too much. Including how Doug removed and ate the filling from a sausage roll, then folded the pastry back together and put it back in the bag. Frankly, abhorrent.Once we have accepted that Doug might be a killer, it is back to D&D. We talk about those little shards of broken gem, and how utterly shocked Harry was when we casually ignored every piece of breadcrumbing he tried to lay down. We reflect on how right it felt for Dolly, Raidion, and Elowen to hang back, making space for some genuinely perfect story moments and very good dice rolls. I might have drugged a guy, but it was extremely cool.We also discuss how much we love piling on Ben whenever he does something silly, and look at what happened this time. We think about Dolly and her plans for the future, how Aoife imagines all of this playing out, and why we are absolutely convinced it is all going to be incredibly important. Finally, we discuss how deeply unfair it is for Alex to claim he is not patient when, in reality, he is just very excitable, and we love him for it.---Support us on Patreon! https://www.patreon.com/naturalsixJoin our Discord! https://discord.gg/HNV56DADnJFollow us on Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/naturalsixFollow us on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/natural_sixFollow us on TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@natural.sixLove lore? For the past two weeks, Lunchtime Live has spoken to parents who are caring for adult children with intellectual disabilities about their struggles to get support for their care. Yesterday, Andrea spoke to Mother “Anna” who dropped her daughter off at A&E because she had reached a breaking point in trying to care for her. Today, Taoiseach Micheal Martin responded to Anna's story. Andrea also spoke and met in person Tony Murray, the Founder of the Before We Die Campaign, his wife, Susan and their daughter, Aoife at their home
In this episode, Aoife and Jenny talk about why Little Steps, Big Futures went quiet for a few weeks and why sometimes rest is not a choice, it is a necessity. Between illness in their families and winter weather chaos, capacity was low and pushing through did not feel right.Aoife shares the reality of an ice storm with small kids. No school, no preschool, no outdoor time and routines disappearing overnight. They talk about cabin fever, nervous system overload, and letting go of expectations when survival mode takes over. They also acknowledge the sixth anniversary of the Dublin protest for Early Years Educators, a moment worth marking. They are easing back in, not catching up. If winter has knocked the wind out of you too, you are not alone. They are glad to be back.Support us:https://www.instagram.com/little_steps_big_futures/https://www.facebook.com/littlestepsbigfutures
Aoife went out for milk. We are sure she will come back for us eventually, but while we wait for her return and her love, let's talk about everything that happened in episode 47, and a whole bunch of other stuff, too. This episode really was all about the race, and we absolutely have to give Harry his flowers for everything he put together and how perfectly it came together in the end. A special mention also goes to Harry's wife for the beautiful arts and crafts diorama that brought the whole thing to life.We take a deep dive into the mechanics for each district, the stats of the ships and crews, and how each one felt genuinely unique. Harry even designed his own version of a Mario Kart blue shell for the finale (thanks for that). We talk about the gorgeous boat Mark from Crafted Campaigns sent over for the race, how we broke it, how we broke it some more, and how we nearly didn't have any other minis because the Uber driver thought we might be shipping drugs. We also spent some time talking about Raidion, the Thornbears, and how fun it might be to start exploring that thread further. Plus, we all agree that Kelnys is totally proficient with panpipes, and that Aoife was rolling so badly this episode that she more or less went through the full stages of grief.---Support us on Patreon! https://www.patreon.com/naturalsixJoin our Discord! https://discord.gg/HNV56DADnJFollow us on Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/naturalsixFollow us on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/natural_sixFollow us on TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@natural.sixLove lore? In this episode of GP Works, the progress of the College's Leadership Academy is explored through the insights of two GP participants, Dr Aoife Moloney and Dr Sinead Cronin. They discuss their learning experiences, the impact on their work, and the significance of stepping back from daily pressures to reflect on their roles as GPs and leaders in their communities.
Rewilding is a community effort. Many ancestral skills today are created with an individualist mindset, friction fire being one of them. But in older times, people worked together to create fire, understanding that community and togetherness was an important part of their survival. Such methods were known as the Neid Fire, Fire Churn, Tine Éigin, among others. Apprenticing to fire is a humbling experience, and learning to do it in tandem with others is a magical experience. To talk with me about this, I'm chatting with Ian Walton Larner and Aoife Ni Lodainn (Lowden) . Ian is passionate about rubbing sticks and started the Sacred Hearth Friction Fire project in 2016 to share skills and knowledge. Ian's primary focus is using friction fire within ritual and holistic practices drawing upon folklore, traditions and story. Fire has been key in the evolution and development of our species and Ian feels fire deserves to be welcomed in a respectful and honouring way. Ian is based in Bristol, South West England, UKAoife is a facilitator of ancestral & land-based courses, workshops & ceremonies. A big part of Aoife's work has been in uncovering & remembering the old traditions & relationship between people and fire in Ireland & Scotland. She is a devoted apprentice of fire, having tended sacred fires all over Ireland, the British Isles & beyond for the last 10 years. Aoife is an advocate for the healing, purifying & unifying nature of fire, how it can directly heal us, and create a space naturally for community to be formed. She is a Director & steward of the Shieling Collective, a grassroots project focused on reviving traditional skills & ancestral lifeways in the Highlands of Scotland.Show Notes:Ian's LinksSacred Hearth Friction Fire WebsiteSacred Hearth Friction Fire InstagramAoife's Linkshttps://linktr.ee/aoifededanann?utm_source=ig&utm_medium=social&utm_content=link_in_biohttps://www.instagram.com/aoifededanann/slinasinsear.comtheshielingcollective.comOther NotesHearth and Campfire Influences on Arterial Blood Pressure: Defraying the Costs of the Social Brain through Fireside Relaxationhttps://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC10429110/Support the show

Aoife is at her wit’s end. Not only is she forced to tidy up after her one-year-old brother Lockie, but she’s also on pants and socks patrol for her messy Dad, Ben. Dad claims to be tidy but brother Baird drops some bombshell confessions. Meanwhile, Hazel brings Mum Caitlin to the court for a truly gas-tly offence: non-stop farting at the table, even on Christmas! On Wednesday, we spoke to Tony Murray who is in his 70s and caring for his 42 year old daughter Aoife who has intellectual disabilities. Our conversation with Tony sparked the conversation about what happens to children who have special needs and cannot live independently after you die and we have been hearing from parents. Joining Andrea was Barbara O'Kelly in Dublin, Nicola Bardon in Dublin and Angela Tourish in Donegal.
We are going to pay tribute to Colum Flynn, a man who made an immense contribution to sport in County Clare. Colum played a big part in Clare's hurling successes as trainer in the 1970s – during which time they won back-to-back league titles in ‘77 and ‘78 - and, of course, the 1990s, when the Banner County achieved long-awaited All-Ireland glory in 1995. Colum also tasted All-Ireland success with the Cyril Farrell-managed Galway sides which won two All-Irelands in the late-'80s, as well as doing immense work within boxing in Clare. Colum is survived by his wife Kay, son Padraig, daughters Ciara, Sorcha, Aoife, Katie & Eilish, and extended family and friends. His reposal will take place this Thursday evening in Daly's Mortuary Chapel, Francis St., Ennis from 5:30 o'clock to 8 o'clock. Funeral Mass will be held in Ennis Cathedral at 11 0'clock, with burial afterwards in Drumcliffe Cemetery. To remember Colum Flynn, Alan Morrissey was joined by Fr Harry Bohan, Former Clare hurling manager, long-time friend and Tommy Lyons of Ennis Boxing Club.
Many parents around the country are in a nightmare situation as they look ahead to what happens to their children when they pass away. For the 2,000 older parents who have adult children with intellectual disabilities and are caring for them daily, they are left with little to no resources...Tony Murray doesn't know what will happen to his daughter Aoife. The Founder of the Before We Die Campaign joined Andrea to share his family's story. Andrea was also joined by Sinead, who has two adult children.

This week's contribution showcases one of Ireland's longest-serving DJs, as we host Dublin-based DJ Aoife Nic Canna to the series. Lock in for the next hour as she exhibits her slick selections and effortless technique throughout. For our latest iteration of the Local Selection, we welcome a legendary Irish vinyl DJ, Aoife Nic Canna to the series. Her contribution acts as the 292nd edition, where she sifts through her library, sharing various old school deep cuts in house and adjacent genres. A range of soft, elegant and warm selections can be heard over the course of the recording. Ideal listening for this glum Wednesday. Aoife has established a significant legacy during her 30+ years as a DJ. Acting as a central force in the Irish dance music scene since its first moves in the early 1990's. She was a founding member of the seminal Horny Organ Tribe. Dubbed the 'first lady of Irish house', she earned regular appearances at culture-defining nights and institutions like Cork's Mór Disco, Dublin's Temple of Sound, and Manchester's Hacienda. Continuing to hold several residencies across Ireland over her expansive career, she has, since Covid lifted, returned to playing regularly across Ireland. Some notable venues include Connollys of Leap, Opium, Hen's Teeth, Izakaya, The Bernard Shaw and Pawn Shop. Some other accolades include support for Inner City, spinning at Ealú le Grá and Paradise Lost in Ibiza, Carl Cox for District 8 and perhaps the biggest of all, supporting Soft Cell and OMD at St. Anne's Park to an audience of 20,000 people. Alongside DJing, in 2012 Aoife created and produced a six-part documentary on Irish club history called 'Folklore from the Dancefloor'. Listen here. This hour-long recording emits a metaphorical sense of fresh air, as Aoife shares a range of lesser-heard tunes with us for this edition. Fragments of punchy house tracks, some acid and slightly progressive, emotive selections in this mix, hitting all the right notes. Fortunately, Aoife has been so kind to share the tracklist for this mix with us. Topics covered : Grief, love, sudden death, comedy, trolling, ADHD, childfree by choice. I cannot tell you how much I loved this conversation. It made me belly laugh…and it made me cry.I'm joined by comedian, poet, storyteller, and truth-teller - the absolute powerhouse that is Aoife Dunne.Aoife lives in Kilkenny with her boyfriend John, and in this conversation we talk about her incredible rise over the past few years, the joy and the pressure that comes with being so visible, and the abuse she receives online for speaking up.She also openly discusses her decision not to have children, a part of the conversation that I'm sure will bring a lot of comfort to many listening. But at the heart of this chat is Aoife's relationship with her Mum Maria, who died suddenly of a heart attack, 15 years ago. The way she speaks about love and loss is raw and deeply moving and the funeral story will also have you in absolute stitches.Aoife's live show 'Good Grief' is touring from March to May. Go see it!And I'd love it if you'd follow the new Instagram page for the pod@readytoberealpodcastGo raibh míle maith agaibh! Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
This might genuinely be some of the dumbest nonsense we have ever done. An avalanche, but backwards, improvised on the spot. Sure. Why not.We start this week's Action Surge with a quick visit to the media pen, because it is all about those important post-race interviews. Eyes firmly on the prize as we reflect on what was, honestly, an incredibly fitting conclusion for a horrible, misshapen horse. This episode took a turn that absolutely nobody was ready for, but was it fun? Absolutely. Raidion walks away with some extra movement, and Aoife takes the opportunity to complain about her lack of cool stuff. Naturally, we also take this moment to remind her that she actually has plenty of cool stuff already. Reality is, we are not especially objective-driven, and we are not particularly loot-driven either, which says a lot about Harry as a DM.We talk about NPCs and the way they can act as a conduit for conversations that players need to have, but cannot always have directly with each other. They allow space for humour and lightness, but also for more serious moments when they are needed. We also dig further into that sword, what might have happened if the party had tried to take it, and how the group might start piecing together what it all means. Kelnys, in particular, seems very invested in figuring it out.We talk about accents and how Harry uses them to subtly guide us as players and characters in certain directions. Yes, there is absolutely something about posh accents that gets a rise out of us, and we spend some time unpacking the impressions they can give. And now, we are back in the big city, and it is time to start exploring. As 2026 gets underway, Nicole Brown is joined by performance coach Aoife Leggett of 360 Coaching to explore how riders, professionals and passionate amateurs alike can make the most of the Year of the Horse. Drawing on her experience in elite yards, corporate environments and performance psychology, Aoife shares practical tools to help listeners build clarity, protect their energy and lead themselves with intention in a demanding sport. This episode is all about aligning ambition with sustainability and learning how to illuminate and inspire, rather than running on empty. In this episode, we cover: The Year of the Horse: what it means for equestrians Aoife explains why 2026 is known as the Year of the Fire Horse and what that represents in terms of momentum, courage and opportunity. The conversation explores the fine line between powerful forward energy and burnout, and how riders can channel this year in a way that supports long-term success. Pillar one: clarity Nicole and Aoife discuss why so many riders lose sight of why they started and how comparison, pressure and social media can cloud decision-making. Aoife shares how reconnecting with your own values, mindset and definition of success can bring focus back to both riding and life more broadly. Pillar two: energy The equestrian world is notorious for long hours and relentless schedules. Aoife breaks down why fatigue is so common and how small, realistic changes can make a big difference. From sleep and recovery to identifying what genuinely gives you energy, this section focuses on sustainability without drastic life changes. Pillar three: leadership Leadership isn't just about running a yard or managing a team. Aoife explains why it starts with how you lead yourself, the habits you keep and the standards you hold in private. Creating positive culture, whether at home, in a professional setup or with a small support team, plays a huge role in performance and wellbeing. Goals, habits and identity Big goals can be motivating, but only if they're backed up by meaningful processes. Aoife talks about the importance of milestones, identity-based habits and narrowing your focus so progress feels achievable and rewarding rather than overwhelming. Breathwork for riders Aoife introduces breathwork as a practical tool for calming nerves, improving focus and managing pressure. She shares a simple breathing exercise that listeners can use anywhere, and explains why breathwork has become a staple for elite athletes across many sports. Aoife Moore is an independent investigative journalist from Derry, Northern Ireland and formerly worked as a political correspondent for the BBC.She calls herself a victim of England's legacy in Ireland and says that every facet of her life has been marred by British colonialism, including the death of her uncle in the violence of Bloody Sunday.Aoife chose her path to become a journalist because of her frustration with the British media's unwillingness to challenge the government's official narrative of what happened on Bloody Sunday and her desire to be a part of revealing the truth. She is the best-selling author of The Long Game: Inside Sinn Fein, a book that explores the growth of Sinn Fein from the armed struggle of the IRA to its current political dominance in the country.Credits:Photos and text, John NoltnerField production, summer interns Kate West, Sawyer Garrison, and Kaitlin ImaiAudio Engineering, Razik SaifullahThanks for listening to A Peace of My Mind's podcast. This week, Al and Leanne sit down with Aoife O'Brien Founder of Happier at Work and host of the Happier at Work podcast — for a conversation about why so many people feel misaligned at work, and what leaders can do about it. Aoife combines evidence, honesty and lived experience to break down the real drivers of engagement: values, fit, autonomy, fairness and meaning. It's a grounded, practical discussion that cuts through surface-level “happiness initiatives” and focuses instead on the deeper psychological conditions that actually make work feel good. Expect to learn: Why values misalignment is one of the strongest predictors of disengagement How to diagnose whether your team is missing autonomy, clarity or recognition The role of data in understanding what employees really want How senior leaders accidentally create the problems they're trying to solve What organisations can do to build cultures where people genuinely thrive The biggest myths about “workplace happiness” (and how to avoid them) Whether you're a founder, a manager or anyone rebuilding their relationship with work, this episode is full of practical, evidence-based ideas you can act on immediately.

In this episode, Aoife and Jenny chat about easing into the Christmas season and bringing the focus back to what really matters. Instead of getting swept up in the pressure for perfect gifts and perfect moments, they talk about choosing connection, presence and simple traditions that kids remember long after the toys lose their shine. Whether it's baking, reading Christmas stories or just slowing down together, Aoife and Jenny remind us that the magic comes from the time we give, not the things we buy. They also open an important conversation about online sharing. With school concerts, Santa visits and festive photos everywhere, it's easy to post without thinking. After the recent Irish Pause Before You Post campaign video, Aoife and Jenny discuss the risks of sharing too much, how small details in a photo can reveal more than we intend and a few gentle ways parents can protect their children's privacy while still capturing memories. It's a thoughtful, down to earth episode about connection over perfection and staying mindful as we share our families' Christmas moments.Catch the video here!Support us:https://www.instagram.com/little_steps_big_futures/https://www.facebook.com/littlestepsbigfutures
