Topics covered : Grief, love, sudden death, comedy, trolling, ADHD, childfree by choice. I cannot tell you how much I loved this conversation. It made me belly laugh…and it made me cry.I'm joined by comedian, poet, storyteller, and truth-teller - the absolute powerhouse that is Aoife Dunne.Aoife lives in Kilkenny with her boyfriend John, and in this conversation we talk about her incredible rise over the past few years, the joy and the pressure that comes with being so visible, and the abuse she receives online for speaking up.She also openly discusses her decision not to have children, a part of the conversation that I'm sure will bring a lot of comfort to many listening. But at the heart of this chat is Aoife's relationship with her Mum Maria, who died suddenly of a heart attack, 15 years ago. The way she speaks about love and loss is raw and deeply moving and the funeral story will also have you in absolute stitches.Aoife's live show 'Good Grief' is touring from March to May. Go see it!And I'd love it if you'd follow the new Instagram page for the pod@readytoberealpodcastGo raibh míle maith agaibh! Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
This might genuinely be some of the dumbest nonsense we have ever done. An avalanche, but backwards, improvised on the spot. Sure. Why not.We start this week's Action Surge with a quick visit to the media pen, because it is all about those important post-race interviews. Eyes firmly on the prize as we reflect on what was, honestly, an incredibly fitting conclusion for a horrible, misshapen horse. This episode took a turn that absolutely nobody was ready for, but was it fun? Absolutely. Raidion walks away with some extra movement, and Aoife takes the opportunity to complain about her lack of cool stuff. Naturally, we also take this moment to remind her that she actually has plenty of cool stuff already. Reality is, we are not especially objective-driven, and we are not particularly loot-driven either, which says a lot about Harry as a DM.We talk about NPCs and the way they can act as a conduit for conversations that players need to have, but cannot always have directly with each other. They allow space for humour and lightness, but also for more serious moments when they are needed. We also dig further into that sword, what might have happened if the party had tried to take it, and how the group might start piecing together what it all means. Kelnys, in particular, seems very invested in figuring it out.We talk about accents and how Harry uses them to subtly guide us as players and characters in certain directions. Yes, there is absolutely something about posh accents that gets a rise out of us, and we spend some time unpacking the impressions they can give. And now, we are back in the big city, and it is time to start exploring. As 2026 gets underway, Nicole Brown is joined by performance coach Aoife Leggett of 360 Coaching to explore how riders, professionals and passionate amateurs alike can make the most of the Year of the Horse. Drawing on her experience in elite yards, corporate environments and performance psychology, Aoife shares practical tools to help listeners build clarity, protect their energy and lead themselves with intention in a demanding sport. This episode is all about aligning ambition with sustainability and learning how to illuminate and inspire, rather than running on empty. In this episode, we cover: The Year of the Horse: what it means for equestrians Aoife explains why 2026 is known as the Year of the Fire Horse and what that represents in terms of momentum, courage and opportunity. The conversation explores the fine line between powerful forward energy and burnout, and how riders can channel this year in a way that supports long-term success. Pillar one: clarity Nicole and Aoife discuss why so many riders lose sight of why they started and how comparison, pressure and social media can cloud decision-making. Aoife shares how reconnecting with your own values, mindset and definition of success can bring focus back to both riding and life more broadly. Pillar two: energy The equestrian world is notorious for long hours and relentless schedules. Aoife breaks down why fatigue is so common and how small, realistic changes can make a big difference. From sleep and recovery to identifying what genuinely gives you energy, this section focuses on sustainability without drastic life changes. Pillar three: leadership Leadership isn't just about running a yard or managing a team. Aoife explains why it starts with how you lead yourself, the habits you keep and the standards you hold in private. Creating positive culture, whether at home, in a professional setup or with a small support team, plays a huge role in performance and wellbeing. Goals, habits and identity Big goals can be motivating, but only if they're backed up by meaningful processes. Aoife talks about the importance of milestones, identity-based habits and narrowing your focus so progress feels achievable and rewarding rather than overwhelming. Breathwork for riders Aoife introduces breathwork as a practical tool for calming nerves, improving focus and managing pressure. She shares a simple breathing exercise that listeners can use anywhere, and explains why breathwork has become a staple for elite athletes across many sports. Aoife Moore is an independent investigative journalist from Derry, Northern Ireland and formerly worked as a political correspondent for the BBC.She calls herself a victim of England's legacy in Ireland and says that every facet of her life has been marred by British colonialism, including the death of her uncle in the violence of Bloody Sunday.Aoife chose her path to become a journalist because of her frustration with the British media's unwillingness to challenge the government's official narrative of what happened on Bloody Sunday and her desire to be a part of revealing the truth. She is the best-selling author of The Long Game: Inside Sinn Fein, a book that explores the growth of Sinn Fein from the armed struggle of the IRA to its current political dominance in the country.Credits:Photos and text, John NoltnerField production, summer interns Kate West, Sawyer Garrison, and Kaitlin ImaiAudio Engineering, Razik SaifullahThanks for listening to A Peace of My Mind's podcast. In the final episode of Season 4 of the Organic Matters Podcast, we meet organic farmers Aoife Gibney and Eamon Campbell on their beef and tillage farm in Co. Meath. The couple are recent converts to organics, becoming full-symbol organic this year. Aiofe and Eamon calve in both the Autumn and the Spring and artificially inseminate their heifers, with a mixture of Sailor, Limousine, Charolais and the odd bit of Angus, making up the herd. They talk about converting their housing to meet the organic spacing requirements, with a combination of slatted and straw-bedded areas. They also speak about some of the reasons they made the move and their experience going organic in recent years, which they have found very stimulating and a new challenge. This has included growing red clover and whole-crop silage for their cattle, as well as outwintering cattle on kale. Typically, cattle have been sold into the local marts, with Aoife and Eamon weighing up different options for the future.

Welcome back to Truth, Lies & Work, the award-winning podcast where behavioural science meets workplace culture. This week, Al and Leanne sit down with Aoife O'Brien Founder of Happier at Work and host of the Happier at Work podcast — for a conversation about why so many people feel misaligned at work, and what leaders can do about it. Aoife combines evidence, honesty and lived experience to break down the real drivers of engagement: values, fit, autonomy, fairness and meaning. It's a grounded, practical discussion that cuts through surface-level “happiness initiatives” and focuses instead on the deeper psychological conditions that actually make work feel good. Expect to learn: Why values misalignment is one of the strongest predictors of disengagement How to diagnose whether your team is missing autonomy, clarity or recognition The role of data in understanding what employees really want How senior leaders accidentally create the problems they're trying to solve What organisations can do to build cultures where people genuinely thrive The biggest myths about “workplace happiness” (and how to avoid them) Whether you're a founder, a manager or anyone rebuilding their relationship with work, this episode is full of practical, evidence-based ideas you can act on immediately.

In this episode, Aoife and Jenny chat about easing into the Christmas season and bringing the focus back to what really matters. Instead of getting swept up in the pressure for perfect gifts and perfect moments, they talk about choosing connection, presence and simple traditions that kids remember long after the toys lose their shine. Whether it's baking, reading Christmas stories or just slowing down together, Aoife and Jenny remind us that the magic comes from the time we give, not the things we buy. They also open an important conversation about online sharing. With school concerts, Santa visits and festive photos everywhere, it's easy to post without thinking. After the recent Irish Pause Before You Post campaign video, Aoife and Jenny discuss the risks of sharing too much, how small details in a photo can reveal more than we intend and a few gentle ways parents can protect their children's privacy while still capturing memories. It's a thoughtful, down to earth episode about connection over perfection and staying mindful as we share our families' Christmas moments.Catch the video here!Support us:https://www.instagram.com/little_steps_big_futures/https://www.facebook.com/littlestepsbigfutures

If you are taking any weight loss drug or are considering taking one, please consult with a professional/ your healthcare provider. Now - what a treat to have the lovely Aoife McMahon on the pod today!Aoife is a specialist eating disorder, disordered eating and body image dietitian. She supports individuals in one-to-one sessions to rebuild a peaceful relationship with food and their body. In addition to that, she works alongside colleague Rhian Houghton to raise awareness and provide training to professionals regarding eating disorders in the context of GLP-1 medications. One of the greatest gifts Aoife has found through her work — and through healing her own relationship with food and her body — is being able to raise her family in a home where a peaceful relationship with food is simply the norm.Aoife gave a fantastic overview of what GLP-1 medications are and what evidence for their long-term effectiveness we have (or rather, we don't have..). We discussed our mutual concern on how there is a lack of support for patients on these drugs, how healing people's relationship with food is often not part of the consultation process, and that informed consent is absolute key in ensuring that anyone who is considering them does so with all the necessary information available. Aoife and her colleague Rhian have developed a fantastic resource for dietitians and other healthcare professionals - a webinar that addresses all of the above. We open with the important questions, like why Alex always walks in circles and how sock puppets somehow entered the chat. Do not worry, there are many voices of Doug Cockle to make up for it.It is the first time we have filmed for a whole weekend in a while, and Harry talks about how much he prepped, and how much we actually explored. For the first time ever, we have left without tying up all the loose ends. They can figure it out for themselves, right? We chat about the team finally getting a moment to breathe, how they interact when the pressure is off (spoilers, they drink), and, how much Harry hates fast travel.Dolly and Aoife both chose chaos this week, and we break down her decision to stab straight through the middle instead of, well, literally anything else. Honestly, she just wishes they had kept the receipt. We get intimate with I, and unpack exactly what Raidion saw with that Nat 20. There really are no secrets among friends. Then it is story time with Doug Cockle. We talk patience, lore, and the perfect sprinkle of flakey salt that made Kelnys' moment shine. He is such a unifying force, and it felt so good to learn more about him. Finally, we talk about Raidion treating this episode like a bottomless brunch, and Alex treating us to the gun show. Because why not? Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
Aoife Nic Giolla Coda's love of beekeeping was passed down from her father, Micheál, who founded Galtee Honey Farm in 1970. When her father neared retirement, Aoife returned home to take over Galtee Honey Farm, determined to continue her family's work protecting Ireland's native black bee. Today, Aoife carries on that family legacy, managing more than 170 colonies of Native Irish Black Honey Bees spread across the Galtee Vee Valley - where the counties of Tipperary, Limerick, and Cork meet. In this episode of Food Matters, Aoife joins Mick Kelly of GIY to talk about the bond between bees and the environment, the hidden dangers of imported bees, and how simple choices like buying Irish honey can help sustain biodiversity, pollinators, and rural communities.

In this instalment of action surge, we reflect on an episode that - despite being our shortest episode yet - was jam packed with story, character and with everyone needing to think on their feet. We talked about how discussions away from the table can result in further discussions at it, and how these moments offer characters the chance to change and grow. Ben revealed parts of Raidion's story that many of the characters had not yet been party to regarding the family he remembers and the darkest corners of his past. Next we moved on to balancing mechanical efficiency and character authenticity, reflecting on what it's like to play at a table where people don't want to tell the story in simplest ways - Aoife giving insight into Dolly's discomfort with her newly acquired drum. Then we moved on to the last half of the episode and the discovery of the way out of The Old Dark. Harry let us in on his thought process as he tried to balance creating atmosphere and handling seat-of-your-pants mechanics. We talked about responding to interesting ideas your players come up with, and trying to reward them for their ingenuity. It's always about telling the story together. After a brief video game discussion detour, we moved on to what happens next. Could an alliance between the kobolds and The Children of the Midnight Moon benefit both parties? Do the Newly Dead need to start building bridges, or is it enough to keep burning them down? Find Your Dream Job: Insider Tips for Finding Work, Advancing your Career, and Loving Your Job
Check out the podcast on Macslist here: (https://www.macslist.org/?post_type=podcasts&p=16242&preview=true) A successful job search starts with self-knowledge, not sending out applications. According to Find Your Dream Job guest Aoife O'Brien, many job seekers make the mistake of jumping into similar roles after feeling unhappy at work, only to land in the same situation again. Aoife's "Know, Show, Grow" framework encourages starting with three core pillars: values – what truly matters to you beyond a paycheck; needs – what keeps you motivated day to day; strengths – what energizes you and comes naturally. Without this foundation, you risk repeating the cycle of unfulfilling jobs. Aoife also recommends showing your value by tying your strengths to real business outcomes from past roles. Instead of applying everywhere, focus on opportunities that align with your authentic self, and submit fewer, better applications. About Our Guest: Aoife O'Brien is the founder of Happier at Work.
