Definitely a historical moment for me to share, this true story originally written by my late grandfather V.S. Arunachallam. He beautifully describes his visit and the day spent with Sri Ramana Maharshi (30 December 1879 – 14 April 1950) himself, while the Rishi used to stay at the Virupaksha cave situated at the foot of the Arunachala Hill in South Of India. This is the period between 1900-1919, Considering an age-old real life story that gave me peace and tranquility while reading, I am happy to share his experience by way of my narration. My late grandfather was based out of a village called Arani in the district of Tiruvannamalai, south of India and he used to frequently visit Sri Ramana Maharshi Ashram during his pupalage. This story is sure to transport you back in time.Narration & Music: Ravi iyer Support the show (https://www.paypal.com/paypalme/raviiyerfusion) --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/ravi-iyer95/message
'Akranto' is Ravi Iyer's latest music single release in collaboration with Manisangsu Bhowmik who wrote the lyrics in Bengali language and rendered his vocals, joined by Arvind Iyer on Bass. This episode features some very insightful and informative thoughts behind the lyrical meaning and content of this composition. Since the lyrical content is in Bengali language and also contains excerpts from one of the greatest poets Jibanananda Das (17 February 1899 – 22 October 1954), this composition by Ravi Iyer throws light on the poet's writing style and his thoughts during that point of time. This episode is sure to add invaluable information to your arsenal of knowledge.Support the show (https://www.paypal.com/paypalme/raviiyerfusion) --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/ravi-iyer95/message
An extremely emotional moment for me to present this thought provoking poem with profound set of words penned by my grandfather, Late Mr. V.S. Arunachallam nearly 100 years ago from now. Do give it a listen and I'll be happy if this poem inspires you all as much as it did to us. Narration: KC LoySound Design: Smitesh JoshiMusic Composition & Copyright: Ravi IyerOriginally penned byMr. V.S. Arunachallam (24th April 1897 – 30th August 1956))LIBERTY Do you know what it is that they call Liberty?Ask him not of the shade if he knows not the Sun;Ask him not of the poor if to wealth born he be;Say the wise; And likewise, Ask him not of the thrall if he be slaver's son,For he knows naught of worthBorn with such mental dearth! Have you seen land of Liberty true on this sphere?Seek it not in the lands with the brute's traditions;Seek it not in the states where the rich interfere:Do not stakeOn mistake: Seek it not in the realms boastful of possessionsEarnt by force or deceit,Curbing heart's noble beat! Do you wish for a glimpse of this God's greatest gift?Look within! There it is in the shrine of your soul,Hid by fears, factious mind and such foes of your lift!Well construe;‘Tis but true!
