On this episode of the SoulScape Celebrations podcast, host Paul – D. Lowe, International Celebrant –talks to Padma Prakasha about his book, ‘The Christ Blueprint’, an inspirational map about the 13 qualities of Christ Consciousness. KEY TAKEAWAYS In 2007-8 I was travelling in the South of France with my then girlfriend and we visited the Mary Magdelene site church there. At dinner that night, suddenly and without warning, a radiant, sensual, holy, feminine energy appeared to me which stopped me in my tracks. This was my introduction to Mary Magdelene. The next day I felt the same feeling but with a sense of urgency and she began to share with me about the Apostles, the power of the womb, and the divine feminine. The narrative we’re normally given is that it’s just about Christ. But he couldn’t have done what he did here on Earth without Mary Magdelene, his loving wife and who was a very wise and powerful leader in her own right, and the Apostles as well. It was a co-creative, collective collaboration that anchored, ignited and introduced this Christ Consciousness on Earth again. A lot of people get it confused. They believe a woman’s in her power when she’s being more masculine. Actually the feminine Christed masters (more than Apostles) showed us that love is being in the feminine power, being in that radiant, sensual, sacred self, is also a feminine power, and to be able to embrace, not judge, everything and bring it into your own heart. Christ’s teachings have been mistranslated. If you look at his ‘I am’ mantras he says “I am the bread of life”, “I am the way, the truth and the light”. If you don’t understand that you’ll think that he’s saying that it’s only through him that you can access or be that, so you have to worship him. But, if you look a little bit deeper into the Aramaic, the tradition he came from and where he was taught, you can see that “I am” is based in a much more ancient wisdom tradition that he studied and was initiated into. The presence that is everywhere is know in all traditions as “I am”, it’s within everybody’s heart. BEST MOMENTS ‘Mary Magdelene was very much about divine/sacred union with the masculine as well as the divine'. ‘There were 4 key female Apostles: Mary Magdelene, Martha, Mother Mary, and Mary Salome and they all had different capacities'. ‘Each of the Apostles had a higher self, you could call them ‘masters’, and these worked through the human incarnations of the Apostles in order to get the divine purpose accomplished'. ’13 follows a natural rhythms: There are 13 Moons in the calendar, not 12. 13 is the magic number that allows you to tap into the natural rhythmic intelligence of life which has been known through every sacred tradition throughout history'. ABOUT THE GUEST Padma Prakasha is a wisdom author, vibrational media creator, visionary pioneer and public speaker bringing together ancient wisdom and modern science. Today, Erin and Sasha dive into the beauty of the Sahasrapadma Chakra. “Sahasrara” means thousand and “Padma” means lotus. Together, it is referred to as the “thousand-petaled lotus.” Much like the human experience, a lotus begins its life in the depths of muddy, murky waters—our struggles, attachments, desires, and ignorance (Avidya). Just as the lotus remains rooted in the mud, we too are born into the material world, facing suffering, karmic cycles, and obstacles. As the lotus stem rises through the water, it symbolizes the seeker's journey through self-awareness, discipline, and inner purification. The phrase represents the infinite layers of consciousness. And through our efforts in Yoga, Meditation, and Self-Inquiry, overcoming obstacles, refining the mind, and aligning with higher consciousness, we unfold one petal at a time, moving closer to Divine realization. Sahasrapadma Chakra is located at the crown of the head, and is the gateway to pure consciousness. When it is balanced, we experience deep inner peace, clarity, and a profound connection to universal wisdom. Life flows effortlessly, and we feel aligned with our highest purpose. When imbalanced or blocked, it can manifest as mental fog, chronic stress, anxiety, or depression. On a physical level, disharmony in this chakra is often linked to neurological disorders, migraines, hormonal imbalances, sleep disturbances, and even autoimmune conditions. Some may struggle with disconnection from their spiritual path, while others might experience an overwhelming sense of isolation or existential confusion.Through meditation, pranayama, acts of surrender, nourishing ourselves with sattvic foods like coconut, almonds, and ghee, occasional fasting with fresh juices or herbal teas, and using Ayurvedic herbs such as Brahmi, Shankhpushpi, Gotu Kola, and Tulsi, we unlock the potential of this energy center. Yoga asanas like Sirsasana (headstand), Savasana (corpse pose), Vrikshasana (tree pose) and Padmasana (lotus pose) further help stimulate this center of Divine connection. When the lotus reaches the surface, it blossoms in the sunlight, untouched by the water below. This represents the final stage of spiritual awakening, the self-realization (moksha), where one transcends suffering, duality, and illusion (maya). The enlightened being, like a lotus, remainds in the world but is no longer affected by its turbulence. Despite its impure surroundings, the lotus remains pristine and beautiful, symbolizing that true beauty and purity arise from within, regardless of external circumstances. You may recognize W. Kamau Bell from his multi-Emmy award-winning docuseries United Shades of America, or from his Substack Who's With Me, or from his commercials for the ACLU. If you're a long-time ACLU supporter, you'll know Bell has worked with us for more than a decade as our Artist Ambassador for Racial Justice. We're excited to have him as our interim host for our At Liberty podcast, where he will host conversations with leaders, legal experts, artists, and storytellers dedicated to the fight for civil rights and civil liberties. In this episode, Emmy-nominated producer, television host, food expert, New York Times best-selling author and ACLU Artist Ambassador for Immigrants' Rights and Women's Rights PADMA LAKSHMI joins us with her good friend, comedian and former Saturday Night Live castmember PUNKIE JOHNSON, to discuss the intersection of identity, comedy...and voting. Known for her critically-acclaimed and Emmy-nominated Hulu series “Taste the Nation”, and as host and executive producer for 19 seasons of Bravo's two-time Emmy-winning series “Top Chef,” Padma tells us how she is exploring stand-up comedy as a storyteller, her meet-cute with Punkie over tacos at Questlove's house, and why reproductive freedom and immigrants' rights can also be fought for on the comedy stage. For her part, Punkie talks about what it was like to be on SNL, why she needed to leave, and her text thread with friends asking all the questions about politics she didn't understand. Through it all, they also talk about joy, which we are looking to bring you on this day before the election.
Read along to practice your English and to learn the English phrases TO RUB OFF ON and TO RUB SOMEONE'S NOSE IN ITIn this English lesson, I wanted to help you learn the English phrase To rub off on. Now we use this phrase to describe when the behavior of one person starts to be mimicked or copied by another person. Sometimes one person can rub off on another person. So here's a good example. If your boss is mean to everyone, that can rub off on you. And you might start to be mean to other people. Maybe one of your kids or a nephew or niece is hanging out with a bad kid and the bad kid's behavior is starting to rub off on the kid that you know that's not a good thing. You don't want bad behavior to rub off on the other kid. You don't want that kid to copy what the bad kid is doing. So when we describe someone's behavior, it can rub off on someone else. This can be a good thing too. When new teachers work with excellent, veteran, well qualified teachers, you hope that the older teacher's knowledge and wisdom will rub off on the younger teacher.WANT FREE ENGLISH LESSONS? GO TO YOUTUBE AND SEARCH, "BOB THE CANADIAN"If you enjoy these lessons please consider supporting me at: http://www.patreon.com/bobthecanadianThe other phrase I wanted to teach you today is to rub someone's nose in it. So this means to mention someone's failures or mistakes over and over again so they feel bad about it. Let's think of an example here. Let's say that I accidentally drove my van, it's sitting over there, Let's say I drove my van into the barn wall and every day Jen mentioned it, day after day she would be rubbing my nose in it. When you rub someone's nose in something, it means they did something embarrassing or something that was a mistake and you just continually mention it. Not a very nice thing to do. To review. To rub off on means when someone's behavior starts to be copied or mimicked by someone else's. And to rub someone's nose in it means, you know, we all make mistakes, but you don't need someone to constantly rub your nose in it. You don't need them to constantly mention the fact that you made a mistake over and over again. Once is enough. But hey, let's look at a comment from a previous video. This comment is from Padma. Colorful trees behind you are so beautiful. Amazing nature. And I said yes, it was a beautiful fall day.And it still is. You can see a little bit of color here. I'll give you a little bit of a color tour if you look here. Oh, where is that? There it is. This tree. Let me walk this way so you can see the whole thing. These trees look amazing right now. These are the trees in front of my house. Let me pivot slowly and walk forward again. If we walk far enough. I'm walking backwards now. You'll be able to see them nicely in front of my house. They look beautiful. But if we turn all of the leaves from these trees are pretty much on the ground. If you look in the distance where I was in a previous video, most of those leaves are on the ground. This tree, a lot of the leaves are on the ground. This tree here, a lot of the leaves have fallen on the ground and created a carpet. I think by my house it's a bit of a micro climate. I think what that means is it's a little warmer in front of my house. Maybe it's a little less windy and a little warmer and I think those trees just turn color a bit later. Or Jen was mentioning this the other day. They might just be a different variety. It's.Can you hear the crunching? I'll show you the ground again. They might just be a different variety. So here you're going to see my crocs. If I do this, I'm wearing my old. We actually call those the barn crocs. I don't know if you know what crocs are but those are the slip on shoes that are just made out of plastic that are really. You donSupport the show

Chapter 23 - The Yule BallHarry and Ron both whipped around, but Hermione said loudly, waving to somebody over Malfoy's shoulder, “Hello, Professor Moody!” Malfoy went pale and jumped backwards, looking wildly around for Moody, but he was still up at the staff table finishing his stew. “Twitchy little ferret, aren't you, Malfoy?” Hermione said scathingly.Q1 - What do you think of Hermione shrinking her teeth?“Dobby knew sir must be a great wizard, for he is Harry Potter's greatest friend, but Dobby did not know that he was also generous of spirit, as noble, as selfless—”Q2 - Is Ron these things? The left sock was bright red, and he had a pattern of broomsticks upon it; the right sock was green with a pattern of snitches. “They're…they're really…well, thanks, Dobby,” said Harry, and he pulled them on, causing Dobby's eyes to leak with happiness again.Krum was accompanied by a pretty girl in blue robes Harry didn't know…His eyes fell instead on the girl next to Krum. His jaw dropped. It was Hermione.Q3 - What do you think about Krum and Hermione?!“Are we not right to be proud that we alone know our school's secrets, and right to protect them?” “Oh I would never dream of assuming I know all Howart's secrets, Igor,” said Dumbledore amicably. “Only this morning, for instance, I took a wrong turn on the way to the bathroom and found myself in a beautifully proportioned room I have never seen before, containing a really rather magnificent collection of chamberpots. When I went back to investigate more closely, I discovered that the room had vanished.Q4 - How do you like Dumbledore after all this?Hermione was now teaching Krum to say her name properly; he kept calling her Hermy-Own. “Her — my — own — knee.”"How's it going?" Harry asked Ron, sitting down and opening a bottle of butterbeer. Ron didn't answer. He was glaring at Hermione and Krum, who were dancing nearby. Padma was sitting with her arms and legs crossed, one foot jiggling in time to the music. Every now and then she threw a disgruntled look at Ron, who was completely ignoring her. Parvati sat down on Harry's other side, crossed her arms and legs too, and within minutes was asked to dance by a boy from Beauxbatons.Q5 - Trelawney's Prediction!Q6 - What is Ron so angry about?“...Don't see what there is to fuss about, Igor.” “Severus, you cannot pretend this isn't happening!” Karkaroff's voice sounded anxious and hushed, as though keen not to be overheard. “It's been getting clearer and clearer for months. I am becoming seriously concerned. I can't deny it.” “Then flee,” said Snape's voice curtly. “Flee, I will make your excuses. I, however, am remaining at Hogwarts.”Q7 - What is Karkaroff worried about? Q8 - What is Snape's background?Q9 - Did you think that Hagrid was a half-giant?Q10 - What is Cedric talking about?Ron and Hermione were having a blazing row. Standing ten feet apart, they were bellowing at each other, each scarlet in the face. “Well, if you don't like it, you now know what the solution is, don't you?” yelled Hermione; her hair was coming down out of its elegant bun now, and her face was screwed up in anger. “Oh yeah?” Ron yelled back. “What's that?” “Next time there's a ball, ask me before someone else does, and not as a last resort!” Ron mouthed soundlessly like a goldfish out of water as Hermione turned on her heel and stormed up the girls staircase to bed.Chapter 24 - Rita Skeeter's ScoopQ1 - Is Harry stupid or smart for not just taking Cedric's advice?Q2 - Why do you think Dumbledore secured a job for Hagrid when he was expelled?Q3 - Why are the Goblins looking for Barty CrouchQ4 - Where do you think Barty Crouch is?“How about giving me an interview about the Hagrid you know, Harry? The man behind the muscles? Your unlikely friendship and the reasons behind it. Would you call him a father substitute?”Q5 - Is Hagrid the closest thing to a father that Harry has had?Hermione went slightly pink, but Dumbledore smiled at her, and continued, “Hermione, Harry, and Ron still seem to want to know you, judging by the way they were attempting to break down the door.” “Of course we still want to know you!” Harry said, staring at Hagrid.“My own brother, Aberforth, was prosecuted for practicing inappropriate charms on a goat.”Q6 - What was Aberforth Dumbledore doing?Chapter 25 - The Egg and the EyeQ1 - What is the nicest bathroom you've ever been in?“What d'you do, sneak up here in the evenings to watch the Prefects take baths?“Sometimes,” said Myrtle, rather slyly, “but I've never come out to speak to anyone before.”Q2 - How creepy is Myrtle?Peeves was not the only thing that was moving. A single dot was flitting around a room in the bottom left-hand corner — Snape's office. But the dot wasn't labeled "Severus Snape"...it was Bartemius Crouch.Q3 - What was Barty Crouch doing in Snapes office?Q4 - Before Moody came into the picture, how did you think Harry would escape this?“Reckon they were after potion ingredients, eh?” said Moody, “Not hiding anything else in your office, are you?”Q5 - Do you think Snape is hiding something in his office?Snape suddenly did something very strange. He seized his left forearm convulsively with his right hand, as though something on it had hurt him.Q6 - What is this description?“Oh if there's one thing I hate,” he muttered, more to himself than Harry, his magical eye was fixed on the bottom left hand corner of the map, “It's a Death Eater who walked free…”Q7 - Who is at the bottom left-hand corner of the map? Q8 - Do you think Moody will catch this person now he has the map?Moody winked at him…Q9 - Was Moody just blinking?Q10 - Do you think Harry would be a good Auror? Isn't Moody great for encouraging that in Harry?Chapter 26 - The Second TaskOwing to the potential for nasty accidents when objects kept flying across the room. Professor Flitwick had given each student a stack of cushions on which to practice, the theory being that these wouldn't hurt anyone if they went off target. It was a good theory, but it wasn't working very well. Neville's aim was so poor that he kept accidentally sending much heavier things flying across the room - Professor Flitwick, for instance.Q1 - Is Neville secretively really good at magic?“Moody said Dumbledore only lets Snape stay here because he's giving him a second chance or something…”"I just want to know what Snape did with his first chance, if he's on his second one," said Harry grimly.Q2 - What did Snape do that he needs a second chance?Q3 - What is Snape's deal?Q4 - Grubbly-Plank or Hagrid?“I should've learned to be an Animagus like Sirius.”Q5 - What would you be if you could be an animagus?Q6 - How amazing is Dobby for helping Harry? The unsung hero of this book so far.Q7 - How is the crowd watching the second task?Harry looked around. There was no sign of any of the other champions. What were they playing at? Why didn't they hurry up? He turned back to Hermione, raised the jagged rock, and began to hack at her bindings too.Q8 - Is Harry an idiot for doing this?Q9 - Would you rather face a dragon or face an hour in icy water looking for your loved one?Dumbledore and Ludo Bagman stood beaming at Harry and Ron from the bank as they swam nearer, but Percy, who looked very white and somehow much younger than usual, came splashing out to meet them…Percy seized Ron and was dragging him back to the bank ("Gerroff, Percy, I'm all right!")Q10 - Does this change your thoughts on Percy?Q11 - Hermione is angry that Fleur kissed Ron on the cheek…does Hermione love Ron?Q12 - Danny, Do you like Fleur more after this chapter?Chapter 27 - Padfoot ReturnsOne of the best things about the aftermath of the second task was that everybody was very keen to hear details of what had happened down in the lake, which meant that Ron was getting to share Harry's limelight for once. Harry noticed that Ron's version of events changed subtly with every retelling. At first, he gave what seemed to be the truth; it tallied with Hermione's story, anyway - Dumbledore had put all the hostages into a bewitched sleep in Professor McGonagall's office, first assuring them that they would be quite safe, and would awake when they were back above the water. One week later, however, Ron was telling a thrilling tale of kidnap in which he struggled single-handedly against fifty heavily armed merpeople who had to beat him into submission before tying him up.Q1 - They make something called a wit-sharpening potion, would you take this all the time, and would it be healthy to take a potion daily?Q2 - How does Rita Skeeter keep finding this stuff out? Does she have an invisibility cloak?“I don't care how many times your picture appears in the papers. To me. Potter, you are nothing but a nasty little boy who considers rules to be beneath him."Q3 - What is Snape's issue?"It is Veritaserum - a Truth Potion so powerful that three drops would have you spilling your innermost secrets for this entire class to hear," said Snape viciously. "Now, the use of this potion is controlled by very strict Ministry guidelines. But unless you watch your step, you might just find that my hand slips" - he shook the crystal bottle slightly - "right over your evening pumpkin juice. And then. Potter...then we'll find out whether you've been in my office or not."Q4 - What do you think of Veritaserum?"What's so urgent?" he heard Snape hiss at Karkaroff. "This," said Karkaroff, and Harry, peering around the edge of his cauldron, saw Karkaroff pull up the left-hand sleeve of his robe and show Snape something on his inner forearm. "Well?" said Karkaroff, still making every effort not to move his lips. "Do you see? It's never been this clear, never since -" "Put it away!" snarled Snape, his black eyes sweeping the classroom.Q5 - What is happening here?"Thanks," said Sirius, opening it, grabbing a drumstick, sitting down on the cave floor, and tearing off a large chunk with his teeth. "I've been living off rats mostly. Can't steal too much food from Hogsmeade; I'd draw attention to myself."Q6 - Do you think Sirius is trying to eat Peter Pettigrew?Q7 - What is the deal with Crouch?Sirius shook his head and said, "She's got the measure of Crouch better than you have, Ron. If you want to know what a mans like, take a good look at how he treats his inferiors, not his equals."Q8 - What do you think of everything Sirius is saying about Crouch?"Well, times like that bring out the best in some people and the worst in others. Crouch's principles might've been good in the beginning - I wouldn't know. He rose quickly through the Ministry, and he started ordering very harsh measures against Voldemort's supporters. The Aurors were given new powers - powers to kill rather than capture, for instance. And I wasn't the only one who was handed straight to the dementors without trial. Crouch fought violence with violence, and authorized the use of the Unforgivable Curses against suspects. I would say he became as ruthless and cruel as many on the Dark Side. He had his supporters, mind you - plenty of people thought he was going about things the right way, and there were a lot of witches and wizards clamoring for him to take over as Minister of Magic. When Voldemort disappeared, it looked like only a matter of time until Crouch got the top job. But then something rather unfortunate happened...." Sirius smiled grimly. "Crouch's own son was caught with a group of Death Eaters who'd managed to talk their way out of Azkaban. Apparently they were trying to find Voldemort and return him to power."Q9 - What do you think about Barty Crouch's son dying? He wasn't the only one," said Sirius bitterly. "Most go mad in there, and plenty stop eating in the end. They lose the will to live. You could always tell when a death was coming, because the dementors could sense it, they got excited. That boy looked pretty sickly when he arrived. Crouch being an important Ministry member, he and his wife were allowed a deathbed visit. That was the last time I saw Barty Crouch, half carrying his wife past my cell. She died herself, apparently, shortly afterward. Grief. Wasted away just like the boy. Crouch never came for his son's body. The dementors buried him outside the fortress; I watched them do it.""Rosier and Wilkes - they were both killed by Aurors the year before Voldemort fell. The Lestranges - they're a married couple - they're in Azkaban. Avery - from what I've heard he wormed his way out of trouble by saying he'd been acting under the Imperius Curse - he's still at large. But as far as I know, Snape was never even accused of being a Death Eater - not that that means much. Plenty of them were never caught. And Snape's certainly clever and cunning enough to keep himself out of trouble."Q10 - What are your thoughts about everything Sirius mentioned?
From MPR News, Art Hounds are members of the Minnesota arts community who look beyond their own work to highlight what's exciting in local art. Rustic gallery glamFood writer Amy Thielen of Park Rapids recommends a gallery space in Detroit Lakes with a show that opens Thursday for the peak summer season. The gallery, run by ceramicist Ellen Moses, is called Art Project 605. Visitors can see the abstract landscape paintings and drawings of Jennie Ward of Lake Park. Entitled “Love Song in the Chaos,” the show will be up through Aug. 2. Thielen offers this background: Ellen moved back from New York City during the COVID time. I feel like we gained in the North Country — we gained a lot of very cool people who moved back up north, where they are now working remotely. She and her wife Lori O'Dea bought a storefront. In the back, it's Ellen's studio: She makes plates, cups and 3D sculptures. In the front space of the storefront there's a gallery, and [Thursday night] a show opens by Jennie Ward, an artist who lives a little bit further west in Lake Park.Jennie's paintings are really interesting. They're very beautiful. They're abstract expressionist landscapes. The colors are big, swaths of thick paint; she's a great colorist. I'm very excited for this work. I think everybody in town will love it. It's a beautifully renovated storefront: a beautiful, clean, minimalist working space. It reminds me of a corner in a bigger city, like New York or Chicago.— Amy ThielenGlobal grooves galaPadma Wudali is an amateur musician who plays the veena, a South Indian classical carnatic instrument. The concert is a fundraiser for a new Cultural, Arts and Heritage Center.Padma says: Maithree is a band of Minnesotans who collaborate with classical music, both Western and Indian. So it to me it's not about them diluting any of their art forms, but rather stepping into each other spaces to create amazing music. The music that we will get to hear is Indian, classical Irish, Turkish melodies all seamlessly blended together and various compositions.Shruthi Rajesekar is the youngest member, and I'm super excited to see her work be represented by this group. Amanda describes the events leading up to next weekend: There are workshops and jam sessions. There's also this really awesome event called the 48-Hour Band Challenge. They basically invite musicians who are interested to put their names in a hat. New bands are formed by picking names out of the hat, and then those new bands have 48 hours to write a song together and then perform it. It's a way for musicians to find each other, workshop together, learn, practice, vibe!— Amanda H. Malkin

The Life of Padma, or the Paümacariu, is a richly expressive Jain retelling in the Apabhramsha language of the famous Ramayana tale. It was written by the poet and scholar Svayambhudeva, who lived in south India around the beginning of the tenth century. Like the epic tradition on which it is based, The Life of Padma narrates Prince Rama's exile, his search for his wife Sita after her abduction by King Ravana of Lanka, and the restoration of his kingship. The second volume recounts Rama's exile with Sita and his brother Lakshmana. The three visit various cities--rather than ashrams, as in most versions; celebrate Lakshmana's marriages; and come upon a new city built in Rama's honor. In Dandaka Forest, they encounter sages who are masters of Jain doctrine. Then, the discovery of Sita's disappearance sets the stage for war with Ravana. Eva De Clercq's The Life of Padma (Harvard UP, 2023) is the first direct translation into English of the oldest extant Apabhramsha work, accompanied by a corrected text, in the Devanagari script, of Harivallabh C.
