What if time isn't something to chase, but something to experience? In a world that constantly urges us to move faster, do more, and keep up, this conversation with Ryan Enslin offers a different perspective. A gentler one.As a journalist and photographer from Johannesburg, South Africa, Ryan has learned that some places seem to exist outside the pace of modern life. One of those places is St Helena Island, a remote island in the South Atlantic that has profoundly shaped the way he thinks about time and presence. And what it means to truly pay attention. In this inspiring episode of Speaking of Travel, Ryan shares how travel can become much more than a journey to a destination. Together we explore the remarkable story of St Helena Island while reflecting on self-discovery, resilience, curiosity, and the importance of living with intention in a fast-moving world.Ryan's experiences remind us that meaningful travel isn't measured by the number of places we visit, but by our willingness to be present for the moments that change us."When the distractions fall away, you begin to realize time isn't passing you by. You're finally present for it."If you've been searching for perspective or simply a conversation that nourishes the soul, this episode is a beautiful reminder that some places can change our relationship with time, not because the clock moves differently, but because we do.

Jesus experienced dishonor in His hometown. Familiarity caused people to see Him as common rather than Holy. What they failed to honor, they failed to receive from Him. Familiarity blinded them to His greatness. In this message, Pastor Danny calls us to "Bring Honor Back." Honor is more than respect, it's recognizing value and showing appreciation to God and others. Why do daughters who do the most for their families always feel like they're doing the least?Dr. Allison Alford breaks down why adult daughters carry an invisible emotional load with no finish line, and why the guilt you feel has less to do with what you're actually doing and more to do with a cultural rubric nobody ever defined. This conversation goes beyond family dynamics into the unnamed labor of "daughtering" and why the goalpost was never meant to be found. What you'll learn:Why "good enough daughter" is a standard nobody can meetThe invisible machinery running every dreaded phone callHow enmeshment traps daughters into managing their mother's emotionsWhy guilt isn't a signal you're failing — it's a signal the rubric is brokenDr. Allison Alford is a researcher and author who has spent over a decade studying adult daughter relationships. Her work gives language to the emotional labor daughters do daily — labor that's real, significant, and almost never counted.Find Allison's book and her work at Daughtering101.com and all links at: mindlove.com/454Ready to stop measuring yourself against a standard that was never actually defined? Josh and Carly Berg suffered the greatest loss a parent can go through, the loss of their child. At 6 years old, their daughter Ellie passed away in a freak accident, simply playing in their backyard. These conversations are never easy and we've had them and explored them on World Gone Good previously. They remain important because it's what we do as human beings after, that's where the good can be found. And that's why Josh and Carly created the Be Like Ellie Foundation to honor their child. The mission is simple (and sometimes simple is the best way, isn't it?): Spread love, be kind, play music - which is pretty much how their daughter lived her life. The Be Like Ellie Foundation encourages and supports simple acts of kindness to create a positive change. Through outreach programs, volunteer initiatives, and educational campaigns, this organization strive to empower individuals and groups to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others to build a more caring and inclusive society where every act of kindness ripples outward to create a brighter, more compassionate world for all.
