In this true scary story, we hear from Andrea. She grew up as the only girl between two brothers in a small, aging home where strange things seemed to follow her from childhood into adulthood. It began with her name being called when no one was there. Later came footsteps on the porch, invisible hands tugging at her feet, and a ceiling fan that moved on its own.But the most powerful encounters didn't happen until after tragedy struck her family in 2019. What followed were moments so vivid, so emotional, that she still wonders if it was a dream or an actual visitation. Was it grief? A subconscious coping mechanism? Or was someone she loved still trying to reach her?You can get these ad-free through ScaryPlus.com free for 14 days, then 4.99 per month. by UFO History Buff & Author, Charles Lear The first feature-length UFO documentary was titled, appropriately, Unidentified Flying Objects with the subtitle, The True Story of Flying Saucers. It was produced by Clarence Greene and released in 1956. Researcher Robert Barrow devoted a blogspot.com site to it titled UFO: The True Story of Flying Saucers and posted from June 2008 until July 2025. In his June 12, 2008, post, “The Driving Force: Clarence Greene,” Barrow includes a statement “signed” by Greene, but he tells the reader that he found it on the web “uncredited.”According to Greene in his July 26, 1967, statement titled, “UFO: Why I Made Unidentified Flying Objects,” one night in August of 1952, a friend called his attention to something in the sky Greene describes as “a sphere of light.” They watched it for about five minutes as it moved, stopped, made turns, and then moved off over the horizon. He later learned that members of the Ground Observation Corps had also observed it. Read more →*Note: audioblogs are now a cloned AI version of Martin's voice.

Send a textAsh Wednesday begins the Catholic season of Lent — a time when the Church calls us to remember death, judgment, and eternity. In this true Catholic account from Naples in 1707, St. Francis of Jerome warns a woman who mocked the reality of hell. Eight days later, the warning was fulfilled. This sobering episode reminds us of the Four Last Things: death, judgment, heaven, and hell — eternal realities taught by the Catholic Church and proclaimed in Sacred Scripture and Sacred Tradition. Lent is a season of repentance, conversion, and returning to the grace of God through prayer, fasting, and almsgiving.St. Alphonsus Liguori wrote that those who frequently meditate on the Four Last Things are far less likely to fall into mortal sin. The Church, in her wisdom, places this meditation before us at the beginning of Lent so that we may examine our conscience, seek the Sacrament of Confession, and prepare our souls for the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass and the glory of Easter.Has the modern world forgotten the reality of judgment? Have we grown comfortable with sin and resistant to grace? This true Catholic story is not meant to frighten for its own sake — but to awaken the soul to the urgency of salvation. This is Episode 1 of Lent Daily — our Catholic Lenten reflection series sharing true accounts from Catholic tradition that call us back to holiness and eternal perspective.Support the showSupport this show and get all future episodes by email atwww.kenandjanelle.com

Bill Maher sits down with actor Cary Elwes for a freewheeling conversation that starts with hair jokes and quickly becomes a masterclass in craft, including the moment Al Pacino changed Cary's life with a simple “work the muscle” speech. They take on Hollywood's gun obsession, Olivier vs. Brando, Kubrick's genius (and excess), whether 2001 is transcendent or a sedative, and why A Clockwork Orange still ignites debate decades later. Along the way: Braveheart, Scarface tattoos, and Catholic guilt. They cancel hell, roast John Wick, and somehow land on the idea of Pacino as God in Purgatory. The true story of Mary Ann Patten, a nineteen-year-old woman who, in the summer of 1856, took command of a clipper ship and navigated it around Cape Horn. What drives someone to leave behind security, reputation, and the expectations of society to sail into the unknown? In this episode, we explore To The Edge of the World with author Tilar Mazzeo—a gripping true story of adventure, obsession, and the irresistible pull of the sea. We discuss the extraordinary life at the heart of this book: a woman who refused to accept the limits placed on her and instead chose a life defined by risk, freedom, and relentless determination. Through treacherous waters, isolation, and moments of triumph and despair, Mazzeo paints a vivid portrait of what it means to chase a dream when the world insists you shouldn't. Her journey is as much an inner reckoning as it is a physical voyage to the farthest reaches of the globe. Along the way, we discuss the book's rich historical context, the emotional costs of ambition, and the complicated line between courage and obsession. This episode asks big questions about independence, belonging, and why the call of adventure can be so powerful that it demands everything in return. Whether you're drawn to true stories of exploration, fascinated by lives lived outside convention, or simply curious about what lies beyond the horizon, this conversation will take you right to the edge of the world—and what it means to live there. Born in a refugee camp in Angola after his family fled war in DR Congo, young Eduardo's life started with challenges most children could never imagine. But through courage, family strength and a love for the game, his dream began to grow — from the streets of Fougères in France to the world stage of the UEFA Champions League. We explore how Camavinga switched from judo to football, the coaches who spotted his talent, and the moment he burst onto the scene with Stade Rennais at just 16. You'll hear how he became one of France's youngest internationals ever, signed for Real Madrid, and helped the club lift Europe's biggest trophy. Packed with shoutouts, big moments, resilience and life lessons, this episode shows kids and families that where you start does not decide where you finish. Perfect for young football fans aged 6–12, car journeys, bedtime listening and screen-free family time. If your child loves football, dreams big and never gives up — this one's for them. ⚽ Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices

Hello, been a minute, but welcome back to another episode of the search for the worst album ever made, it's Trve. Crvp. Pop!.On this episode Steve and Sam throw the rulebook out the window and pick their own album to judge, it's the 5th studio album from rapper, actor, author, pop culture phenom Will Smith, Based on a True Story, which was released on the 28th of March 2025.Dunno if you remember, but Will Smith has had a funny old time over the last few years, he won an Oscar for best actor, but it went a bit pear shaped if you recall. After that, Will had to scramble around a lot to salvage his reputation, which he hasn't really been able to do. He did release this record though, which was his most serious and personal effort to date. It's basically him going on about how great he is and how he doesn't care what people think of him, whilst also moaning that he nearly got cancelled. Good job Will!

The Senior Care Industry Netcast w/ Valerie V RN BSN & Dawn Fiala
Send a textGrowth stalls when great clients arrive and caregiver applications vanish. We tackle that crunch head-on with a practical, fast-moving playbook to recruit exceptional caregivers in a competitive market—and to keep them after day one. We start by naming the seasonal dip few talk about: tax refunds and school breaks reduce both applications and availability every spring. The fix is to prepare early and compress the entire hiring cycle, so motivated candidates choose your agency within days, not weeks. We walk through a two-day job fair strategy designed less for foot traffic and more for urgency. Promoting on job boards, social, and text lists with “interviews on site” sparks immediate requests to interview now. Pair that momentum with a text-first workflow: a short form screens deal breakers, candidates self-book interviews 24/7, and you run a thorough phone interview without forcing duplicate applications. If they're a fit, invite them to a single in-person orientation where you complete paperwork, run a quick drug screen and background check, teach core skills, and—crucially—hand them initial hours before they leave the building. You'll also get the interview frameworks and ad tactics that separate you from the crowd. We break down open-ended, behavioral, and situational questions that reveal values, reliability, and judgment. Then we show how to write caregiver ads that convert by leading with benefits, not rules: flexible schedules, earned wage access, holiday differentials, paid training, and real 24/7 support. Use our headline formula and include pay ranges to increase clicks, then refresh weekly to stay visible. Finally, plan your funnel with clear math: to hire five, target forty applicants, twenty interviews, and ten orientations.Retention ties it all together. The first 90 days make or break loyalty, so commit to weekly, human check-ins that ask about their experience and solve problems fast. Add meaningful recognition, a simple caregiver newsletter, and mentor support to build community that lasts. Subscribe, share this with an owner who needs a recruiting reset, and leave a quick review telling us which tactic you'll implement this week.Continuum Mastery Circle IntroVisit our website at https://asnhomecaremarketing.comGet Your 11 Free Home Care Marketing Guides: https://bit.ly/homecarerev

It's News Day Tuesday on the Majority Report On today's program: The Trump administration continues its efforts to cover up the Epstein files. Rep. Becca Balint (D-VT) says that she looked into the unredacted Epstein files and discovered that Donald Trump never kicked Epstein out Mar-a-Lago as he claims. Ghislaine and Epstein both invoked the fifth amendment when asked about their experiences with Donald Trump. Rep. Ro Khanna (D-CA) points out the inconsistency in Ghislaine Maxwell not pleading the fifth when she spoke to Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche but now is using the fifth over questions that do not implicate her. Journalists from ProPublica, Jodi Cohen and Melissa Sanchez join Sam for a conversation about their piece "The Real Story Behind the Midnight Immigration Raid on a Chicago Apartment Building". In the Fun Half: Trump administration is expecting a devastating job numbers report on Wednesday and so they have sent out Peter Navarro and Kevin Hassett to blame the numbers on immigrants. The pedophile formerly known as Prince Andrew's ex-girlfriend says if you're not in the Epstein files "you're a loser". Howard Lutnick says he searched himself in the Epstein files "just like everyone else". Bill Maher is an idiot and a shill. **Discussion begins at 7:30**There is a viral social media tale circulating that claims Mr Whatsit from Stranger Things was inspired by the real life tale of a shared imaginary friend in small town Wyoming. Netfllix Updates posted: ‘The Duffer Brothers were reportedly inspired by a strange real-life school incident from 1962 when creating Mr. Whatsit. That year, reports claimed that 37 children who had never met or spoken to each other all drew the same imaginary friend a tall, faceless man with a top hat. Psychologists later suggested it may have been a rare case of shared imagery, where children exposed to similar stress or environments unknowingly created the same disturbing mental figure.' OddlyHorrifying posted to following: ‘In spring 1962, teachers at a small school in Wyoming made a chilling discovery. Over 30 children from different grades, who barely spoke to each other had drawn the exact same figure during art class. A tall man. No mouth. Just hollow eyes and something in his hand: a cord made of hair. They called him “Yellow Echo.” The kids said he only came when it rained. That he whispered through TVs. That he told them things they shouldn't know like where one teacher kept his gun. Two weeks later, that teacher vanished. So did every drawing. The only thing left behind? A tape recorder, still running. It captured a child's voice whispering: ‘We didn't draw him. We remembered him.' ‘Today we're going to get to the bottom of the facts and rumors surrounding the alleged Yellow Echo, and discuss the true inspiration for Mr Whatsit. Comedian and Podcaster Adam Carolla joins Bill Maher for a blunt conversation that moves from Hollywood war stories to California's political dysfunction. They unpack the reality of entertainment careers—how early wins create false confidence and why setbacks are unavoidable. Carolla revisits his early breaks with Loveline and The Man Show, while Maher reflects on losing his father just before Politically Incorrect took off. The conversation then widens to identity politics and DEI backlash, overregulation and government bloat, discipline versus Ozempic shortcuts, and how Carolla's emotionally distant upbringing shaped his independence and worldview—before giving way to classic Club Random humor, from Pop-Tarts to Elvis and strip-club metaphors. To hear more, visit smokeempodcast.substack.com“I had started out determined to learn about Amanda, but as more people contacted me wanting to talk, it was Jason they wished to talk about.” - from To the Bridge, A True Story of Motherhood and Murder*This 7th installment of “The Sociopaths Among Us” is about the person who put me I mind to do the series in the first place. His name is Jason Smith, and he is the father of the two children his estranged wife, Amanda Stott-Smith, dropped from Portland's Sellwood Bridge shortly after 1am on May 23, 2009. Amanda was arrested later that same day, a story I partially tell you in the audio (and fully in the book).Walking into a story like this, one knows nothing other than one's own and others' preconceived notions. In the case of a mother who kills a child, these notions run from evil to crazy and not much more. Neither answered for me why Amanda did what she did.It can also be the case, in stories like this, that the real story, or stories, reveal themselves slowly. You can charge directly at it all you like and you are not going to get it. But if you wait, and you listen…In the audio you will hear how people started coming to me with stories about Jason Smith, he was not the man he presented himself to be, they said; that he was very, very good at what he did, and what he did was practice deception.“He could sell ice to an Eskimo, he could sell you the dream,” I was told by the man who'd thought of Jason as his best friend, a thought the man had, by the time he called me, been thoroughly disabused of. I have written before of the sociopath's terrific and terrible talent of being able make you feel as though you ‘get' him as others do not. They spin webs of so, so, so many, lies that eventually catch up with them. They do not register the damage they leave in their wake, or not as something they should care about, and by the time people realize what has happened, the sociopath is onto the next person or situation from which he can gain sustenance. From To the Bridge:“We become grist for the sociopath's mill, in other words; we become his fuel. Dr. Hervey Cleckley, in his seminal work on the psychopathic personality, The Mask of Sanity, posited that what sociopaths lack is ‘soul quality.' Another work I came across called sociopaths “soul eaters of Psychophagic.' Reading this, I pictured Goya's painting Saturn Devouring His Son and considered the idea that sociopaths must feed on others because they lack souls of their own.”Consider what this consumption can do to others.I can understand someone wondering right about now why I do not have more sympathy for Jason Smith, who after all lost his four-year son. Read on… * To the Bridge is a"Kindle Exclusive Deal" this month. If you grab it, let me know what you think.

In the early hours of March 3, 1993, someone snuck into the Maryland home of Millie Horn, where she lived with her disabled eight-year-old son, Trevor, and his nurse, Janice Saunders. After shooting both women in the head multiple times, the intruder smothered Trevor Horn to death, then quietly left the house. Hours later, the bodies of all three were discovered by Millie's sister, who stepped by to check on them.Almost immediately, suspicion fell on Millie Horn's ex-husband, Lawrence, who lived thousands of miles away in California, but with whom she'd spoken just hours before the murders occurred. In time, investigators were able to establish a financial motive, linking Lawrence Horn to the murders, yet they were unable to place Horn in Maryland when the murders occurred. Ultimately, Lawrence Horn would be tried and convicted for all three murders, but by that time, he wasn't sole perpetrator of the crime. And when prosecutors were finally able to pin down the men responsible for the deaths, it turned out the killers received guidance from a very surprising source.Recommendations:Phantasma By Kaylie SmithHappy Place By Emily HenryReferencesAssociated Press. 1993. NFL legend Marshawn Lynch joins Bill for a conversation that bounces from football philosophy to strip club etiquette. Marshawn shares stories from his playing days, how Ray Lewis read him like a book his rookie year and the mental chess game that separates Hall of Famers from everyone else. They clash over Damar Hamlin's on-field collapse and whether that game should have been canceled: logic vs. emotion, fans vs. optics. From there, the conversation swerves into classic Club Random territory, as they bond over Barbra Streisand fan mail, Ricky Williams as weed's original martyr, locker-room backstabbing, why some franchises stay perpetually broken and what scared Marshawn in Bill's bathroom — let's just say, we're all family now. RETRACTION/ERROR: I am wrong about the fireball sighting taking place last night/this morning... it actually took place January 24, but somehow I missed that and thought it only just happened. Sorry about that!On this day, a pope proved that "What Would Jesus Do?" apparently includes physical assault, Edgar Allan Poe earned nine dollars for immortality, and Karl Benz invented both the automobile and the fender-bender.
