Back inside this week, and I'm covering food allergy and anaphylaxis food labeling with may contains. I explain that with "may contains" on the food packaging it means that there is a real risk of cross contamination, and that it's very much a personal comfort zone as to the level of risk you are prepared to take with your food consumption.I also mention about the rise of ambulance call outs in Victoria, Australia alone rose by 52% over the last 5 years directly due to asthma and anaphylaxis. This says to me a higher level of education in the school community of identification of these conditions. Thanks go out to Fiona Skepton from Brisbane for sending me some awesome material last week alerting me to the local newspaper scene here doing major coverage of food allergies and anaphylaxis.
