This is message 25 in the Isaiah series. Isaiah 25:1-12 God's people have always waited for Him, trusting His promises and hoping in His salvation. Isaiah 25 points to the day when that waiting is over—when the Lord reigns in glory, evil is defeated, death is conquered, and all nations gather to worship Him. This is our God; we have waited for Him, and He is faithful. An episode from Lukfata Baptist Church, a conservative, independent body of King James Bible believers located in Broken Bow, Oklahoma. The mission of Lukfata Baptist Church is to be obedient to the words of Christ who is the head of the church and commands us to “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching themto observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world.” (Matthew 28:19, 20) Lukfata Baptist Church (LBC) believes in sending the message of the gospel into all the world (Mk. 16:15). When we're unable to take the gospel to foreign lands personally, we can help send those who go in our place. Do you feel insecure? The desire to feel secure is foundational for psychological development. In part one of our series On Repeat: The Psalms' Greatest Hits, Pastor Eric Robertson explores one of the most powerful themes in the Psalms—security. As human beings, we all seek stability, but no amount of money, success, or preparation can provide the unshakable foundation we long for. Psalm 125:1-2 reminds us that true security comes from trusting in the Lord, not in our own strength.Psalm 125: 1-2: Those who trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion, which cannot be shaken but endures forever. As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the Lord surrounds his people both now and forevermore.Life is full of uncertainties, and insecurity often comes from within rather than external circumstances. We chase financial success, relationships, and control, yet they leave us feeling just as vulnerable. Our biggest threat to our sense of security comes from insecurity. The problem isn't just that the world is uncertain—the problem is that we are. Even when life is stable, we struggle with insecurity.Insecurity is a feeling of self-doubt or a lack of confidence. Emotionally, it makes you feel like you're on roller skates but don't know how to skate. That is the feeling that we, as a society, run from.Psalm 46: 1-3 God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore, we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surgingThe Psalmist doesn't say that troubles will never come, but that in the midst of them, GOD IS OUR REFUGE. It's His presence, not our circumstances, that make us secure. The Psalms repeat this truth over and over—when life shakes us, we have a shelter that never fails.Join us as we discuss what it means to take refuge in God, let go of self-reliance, and find peace in His presence. When trouble comes, where do you run?
Throughout our trials and problems of life, God is our refuge. #daybydaylw Interested in learning more about becoming a devoted follower of Christ? Go to follow.lifeword.org! ~~~ "The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge." When reading the final chapters of 2 Samuel, the stories may seem scattered, but they follow a carefully designed pattern. At the very center of this structure are two songs of David—songs that declare one unshakable truth: God is our rock and refuge. David's reign was filled with triumphs and failures, victories and judgments. Yet, through it all, he knew where his true strength came from. The same is true for us. We may go through seasons of hardship, times of battle, moments of uncertainty, but at the core of it all is this truth—God is faithful. A good king, like David, seeks justice and righteousness for the good of his people and the glory of God. In the same way, we are called to trust and rest in the One who rules with perfect wisdom and love. Are you standing on the rock, or are you trying to navigate life on your own? Let the songs of David remind you today—God is your refuge, your fortress, and He is always faithful. Prayer Focus: Thank God for being your rock and refuge. Ask for strength to trust Him in uncertain times. Pray for Rama Bochung and his family, serving in Myanmar. No matter what comes, let's stand firm on the Rock that never fails.

Pastor Lawson continues our series "Summer in the Psalms" with a sermon from Psalms 46.
Bible Study Don't just take our word for it . . . take His! We would encourage you to spend time examining the following Scriptures that shaped this sermon: Psalm 46, Mark 4:35-41. In the face of uncertainties and fears, how do we make God our refuge and strength? Psalm 46 is a powerful source of comfort and confidence. In this ancient prayer, we learn about: A River of Gladness - God's presence is a source of refreshment, life, and joy A Certain Stability - All kingdoms, rulers, and institutions will end; only God's Kingdom endures forever A Divine Rebuke - The battle belongs to the Lord and he will be victorious Discussion Questions: When you look at the world, are you optimistic or pessimistic about the future? Have you experienced the presence of God in a way that transformed an unsettling situation into a "river of gladness" (something that brought peace, life, and joy)? What difference did the knowledge of God's presence make? Based on Daniel 5, Randy suggested that "the days are numbered" for every leader, government, military, business, and economy. How do you respond to this idea? How does God's divine rebuke of his enemies (v. 10) become a source of comfort and strength for his people? Do you have a question about today's sermon? Email Randy Forrester (RForrester@StAndrews.Church).
Personal Revival, Nation Awakening & Generational Reformation The Scriptures reveal that God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in times of trouble—therefore, we will not fear. In this timely message, Pastor Brian carries a warning as a watchman and sounds the alarm to those who have ears to hear and eyes to see. Russia has recently brought warships and nuclear subs into Cuba—only 90 miles off of Florida's shores. Is this our modern day nuclear missile crisis? Tensions are escalating and America is at a very vulnerable and dangerous tipping point. Whatever manifests in the coming months, the people God must remain prepared and steadfast in the refuge and fortress of His abiding Presence. The prayers of the fervent intercessors and the actions of the righteous must determine our future. BECAUSE OF GOD'S CHARACTER, WE WILL NOT FEAR NATURAL DISASTERS (Psalm 46:1-3). 1) The character of God (Psalm 46:1). 2) Based on God's character, there is no reason to fear even if the world is in chaos (Psalm 46:2-3). B. BECAUSE GOD IS PRESENT WITH US, WE WILL BE SECURE FROM INVADING ARMIES (Psalm 46:4-7). 1) The city of God is glad because God is there (Psalm 46:4). 2) God's presence protects His people from all their enemies (Psalm 46:5-6). 3) REFRAIN (Psalm 46:7). “The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our stronghold.” C. BECAUSE GOD CAN AND WILL END WAR WORLD-WIDE, AND BE EXALTED IN THE EARTH, WE CAN TRUST IN HIS PRESENCE AND PROTECTION (Psalm 46:8-11). 1) All are commanded to come and see the works of God (Psalm 46:8). 2) The Lord makes wars to cease to the end of the earth (Psalm 46:9). 3) GOD SPEAKS! “CEASE, BE STILL” (Psalm 46:10): 4) REFRAIN (Psalm 46:11) - “The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our stronghold.” Sung twice (Psalm 46:7). Conclusion
A refuge is the person or place that we run to when we need protection, comfort, advice, or help. Though God is the only adequate refuge, because we cannot see Him or hear His voice audibly, we often go to the people and places we can see and talk to. Then, a king is the one that we cede all our power to, the one we trust with our lives, the one we submit to. God alone is worthy of such power or faith. But the people of Shechem repeatedly took refuge in their houses of Baal, yet their god was not able to protect them. Their worship of foreign gods along with their desire to make a man betrayed their loyalty and reliance on the One True God and King. We may not worship other gods or turn to them for refuge, but do we look to the Lord and bow to only Him or do we rely on ourselves and others while placing other things above Him?
Ps. 91:1-2, 14-16Vs 1 Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. Vs 2 I will say of the Lord, "He is my refuge and my fortress, my God in whom I trust. "Vs 14-16 "Because he loves me," says the Lord, " I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. He will call on me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation.Support the show
