Welcome back to the ArrowFansUK episode review podcast. This week we discuss 'Beacon of Hope', talking about the introduction of Brie Larvan to Arrow (and the reintroduction to the Arrowverse after her appearance in The Flash's first season), Felicity being away from the team, Curtis and much more. Brie Larvan orchestrates her release from prison and travels to Star City in search of the bio-mechanical chip that is being used to allow Felicity to walk. Brie attacks Palmer Tech, holding the board hostage until Felicity turns herself over. Curtis tracks down Oliver's hideout, discovering his secret in the process, so that he can offer his help to the team to save Felicity, her mother, and Thea. The team arrives at Palmer Tech, but Oliver is stung by one of Brie's robotic bees. Back at the hideout, Curtis realizes the sting actually implanted a bee within Oliver and it is replicating itself. Laurel uses her Canary Cry to disrupt the frequency controlling the bees to save Oliver. Felicity is able to evacuate the board members, while Brie reveals she is after the chip because she has a tumor that is going to leave her paralyzed. Curtis develops a virus to shut down the bees, which works and uses them to stop Brie. In flashbacks, Oliver goes after Reiter who reveals that the idol has already started to grant him mystical powers. As his powers dwindle, Reiter escapes into the tunnels.

It's good to have friends that can be your "Beacon of Hope" in times of trouble. For example, when Brie Larvan, the Bug-Eyed Bandit gets herself released from prison and holds the Palmer Tech building hostage with a massive swarm of robotic bees, Felicity will need a little help from Oliver and his newest ally, Curtis Holt. Episode Description: As Barry works in conjunction with Joe and Eddie to stop crimes across the city, an engineering professor is attacked and killed by a swarm of bees at the local university. While the team searches for a metahuman that can control bees, Felicity arrives with Ray, in his A.T.O.M. suit, looking for assistance to improve his suit. The team tracks another bee attack, but Barry is too late and is attacked by the swarm. The team captures one of the bees, which turns out to be a robot and their metahuman just a disgruntled scientist named Brie Larvan from Mercury Labs, who is targeting other former employees. Barry struggles with whether he can trust Cisco and Caitlin, not knowing if they are working for the Reverse-Flash or not. During the next bee attack, Barry goes after Brie and Ray, as the Atom, goes attempts to stop the bees from killing Dr. Tina McGee. Felicity taps into the wireless frequency for the bees to disable them, while Barry captures Brie. Later, Barry informs Caitlin and Cisco that Dr. Wells is the Reverse-Flash. Caitlin does not want to believe, but Cisco reveals he has been having “dreams”, which are memories from the original timeline where Wells kills him.
