Favour Obasi-ike, MBA, MS breaks down the debate between content quality and velocity. He argues that while velocity drives visibility, quality is the foundation that keeps audiences engaged and builds trust.High-quality content must be readable, understandable, and digestible, utilizing clear formatting and strong internal linking. By establishing a proof of concept and adhering to Google's E-E-A-T guidelines, creators can scale their publishing frequency sustainably.Who Is This For?This episode is for entrepreneurs, marketers, SEO professionals, bloggers, and creators trying to build search visibility. It serves anyone looking to publish consistently without falling into the trap of low-quality content overload.Key Moments & Timestamps[00:03] - Introduction: Content quality versus content velocity.[02:38] - Quality is not only what you say; it is how it is presented.[05:03] - Headings and the “readable, understandable, digestible” standard.[12:10] - Quotes, testimonials, strong titles, and the content experience.[15:13] - Self-audit: Would you watch, read, or listen to your own content?[21:00] - Attention, engagement, and quality as audience priorities.[26:54] - Google E-E-A-T: experience, expertise, authority, and trust.[29:39] - The debate: Evergreen content versus timely updates.[45:03] - Updating old articles and leveraging the modified date.[47:26] - Content velocity, manual indexing, and internal linking.[52:02] - Two top-quality articles beat ten subpar pieces.[53:35] - Building a controlled cadence to avoid audience burnout.[59:42] - Establish quality and a proof of concept before scaling output.[64:00] - Researching ranked content to evaluate the competitive landscape.[67:17] - Aligning keywords, titles, URLs, and opening lines with intent.[68:42] - Best strategy: High-quality content posted consistently.[77:41] - Final takeaway: Quality trumps velocity; scale only with quality.Memorable Quote"Quality trumps velocity—and if you're going to do velocity, make sure you do it with quality."Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)What makes content high quality?High-quality content is useful, trustworthy, well-researched, and structured. It should be easy to read and act on, utilizing proper formatting to guide the user experience.Does publishing more content improve SEO?Publishing volume helps only when relevance, quality, internal linking, and audience value remain strong. Velocity without quality leads to subpar results.Should old content be updated?Yes. Update older content when facts, tools, algorithms, or market conditions change. This preserves its evergreen foundation while signaling freshness. Is evergreen or fresh content better? Both serve a purpose. Evergreen content supports lasting discovery, while fresh content is necessary for news, trends, and platform updates. How often should a brand publish?Choose a publishing cadence your team can sustain without lowering standards. It is better to publish fewer high-quality pieces than to overwhelm your audience.Action StepsAudit one of your existing pieces for readability, formatting, and search intent.Fix heading hierarchy, paragraph length, text emphasis, visuals, and calls to action.Refresh a strong older article with current evidence, updated links, and fresh examples.Define a minimum quality checklist and test it until it becomes a repeatable process.Set a sustainable publishing cadence based on audience behavior and team capacity.Scale your output only after your quality, engagement, and workflow are stable. For more strategies, connect directly via the podcast resources shared at the conclusion of the episode.

He also said that he is healthy and still pitching at a high level. Mullsy argues that Skenes is not pitching as well as he did the last two years, and that velocity could be a reason for that. Poni thinks that Skenes has scoffed over people acting like he hasn't pitched well over the last month, which is kind of weird considering that he has not pitched well, at least for his own standards.

Together, we run the annual Tech Worker Sentiment Survey, now in its second year and one of the largest of its kind: a quantitative study of how people in tech actually feel about their jobs, AI, burnout, and the future of their careers. This year's survey captured responses from thousands of workers across product, engineering, design, research, marketing, data, and sales, and the results are striking. In our in-depth conversation, we discuss:1. Why AI has split the tech workforce almost exactly in half—one half that's thriving, another that's shaken2. The four emotional archetypes defining tech workers right now (the Energized, the Conflicted, the Disoriented, and the Resentful)3. Why burnout has jumped an alarming 11 points in a single year4. In this episode, I share why sales has never been about persuasion—it's about service. When you make it easy for the right people to understand the value you provide, you create more opportunities, build trust, and accelerate results. I talk about articulating transformation instead of features, increasing perceived value, reducing risk, and creating offers that people feel confident saying yes to. Most importantly, I explain how clarity, consistency, and community help you make a lot of money, help a lot of people, and have a lot of fun.To join my next free Friday Training sessions, email me at david@dmeltzer.comSee Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Cash sitting still is not safety. It is wasted potential. In this episode of The Level Up Podcast, Paul Alex breaks down the velocity of capital and why entrepreneurs must learn how to keep money moving, multiplying, and working for the business. Let's be real… If your profits are just sitting in a checking account… Doing nothing… Buying nothing… Building nothing… And creating no future return… That capital is not being protected. It is being underused. In this episode, you'll learn: Why cash should be deployed as a weapon How stagnant money kills compounding potential Why reinvestment creates speed, scale, and momentum How high capital velocity can turn profit into a self-funding empire The truth is simple: Money only has power when it has a job. It can buy infrastructure. It can buy talent. It can buy marketing. It can buy systems. It can buy speed. High-level operators do not admire their bank balance like a scoreboard. They ask where the capital can go next. They reinvest with intention. They assign every dollar a mission. They turn today's profit into tomorrow's growth. Because when capital moves… The business compounds. Deploy the cash. Buy the assets. Keep the money moving. And keep leveling up. Your Network is your NETWORTH! Broken Business Websites vs Professional Business Websites: What Does Every Business Owner Need to Know?

We Don't PLAY

Play Episode Listen Later Jul 9, 2026 92:51

Favour Obasi-ike, MBA, MS frames the discussion around the core distinction: broke (or broken) business websites vs pro (professional) business websites. A “broke” site often lacks structure, SEO, technical setup, and consistently underperforms, whereas a professional site is organized, optimized, and positioned for visibility, lead generation, and business growth 00:00:03, 00:05:16.Who Is This For?This episode is for business owners, entrepreneurs, and marketers—especially those responsible for their company's website and digital visibility. If you want practical, plain English insights into why your site isn't performing, how to spot technical flaws, and how to finally turn a “broken” website into a professional, revenue-driving asset, this is for you.Key Moments & TimestampsIntro & Website Audit Tools:00:00:03 - [Favour Obasi Ike] introduces the concept of "broke" vs. "pro" business websites and tools like Siteliner.com and GTMetrix to self-audit your site.Technical SEO & Why Sites Don't Rank:00:05:00 - 70% of ranking problems are technical, not content-based.00:07:00 - Explains the impact of page speed, broken links, and crawl errors.Site Architecture & Structure:00:12:06 - A “pro” site has a solid checklist, logical URL structure, all main pages (home, about, contact, etc.), and no duplicates or broken paths.Importance of Social, Content, and Indexing:00:10:15 – Social profiles now connect with Google Search Console; cohesive digital presence is critical.00:33:05 – Explains sitemaps, robots.txt, and how to check what pages Google sees vs. your actual site.Schema, Quality Content, and Velocity:00:48:23 – Why schema (structured data) is often missing and critical for SEO.01:11:28 – Content must attract and repel with clarity; use action-oriented headlines and answer real user questions.Budgets, DIY, and Final Advice:01:05:01 – Discusses real costs for professional sites, why you must invest money or time, and how “broke” sites result from neglect.01:23:29 – Final takeaways: clarity in copy, investing in continual learning, and practical analytics checks.SummarizeTechnical SEO is usually the culprit for low rankings—not just content issues. Site speed, mobile performance, clean architecture, and meta info (titles, descriptions) matter much more than flashy design.Sitemaps and robots.txt must be properly configured, or Google may ignore much of your site.Schema markup is almost always missing on poorly performing sites and can boost visibility.Consistent, high-quality content (using real user questions as headline structure) increases both visibility and engagement.Organic social and SEO now interact—Google draws from your digital presence as a whole.DIY is an option, but you must invest time if you can't invest money.Monitor click-through and conversion metrics (above 2% is good; below, revisit your site's value/clarity).FAQsQ: What free tools can I use to audit my site?A: Siteliner.com checks duplicate/broken pages; GTMetrix.com measures speed; NSLookUp.io checks domain health.Q: What's the most common reason websites don't rank?A: Technical SEO issues: slow speed, crawl errors, missing/incomplete sitemaps, improper robots.txt, lack of schema.Q: Is a newsletter/blog/journal page worth it?A: Yes—having unique, frequently updated content (news, blogs, resources) helps with indexing, authority, and user engagement 00:43:10.Q: Can I get a professional site cheaply?A: Investing either time (DIY, free learning resources) or money (professionals, payment plans) is required. Q: What defines a “pro” website?A: Fast, mobile-first, well-structured, SEO-optimized, schema'd, secure, maintained, and delivers what users expect—every time.Action StepsAudit your site using Siteliner, GTMetrix, and NSLookUp to identify technical flaws (00:01:38).Create or download a checklist for on-page, off-page, technical, and local SEO (00:05:48).Clean up your site map and robots.txt.Apply schema markup to each main page (00:48:23).Ensure all key pages exist: home, about, contact, products/services, privacy, FAQ, blog/newsletter (00:13:51).Update your titles/descriptions to include search terms and local info; keep within pixel/character limits (00:29:13).Track your conversions; if below 2%, revisit clarity, speed, mobile, and copy (01:27:24).Invest in learning if budget is tight (use LinkedIn Learning, online resources) or hire a pro with phased payments.Monitor progress and repeat regular checks to maintain a “pro” business website. For more strategies, connect directly via the podcast resources shared at the conclusion of the episode.

Money Reveals You: Gino Barbaro on the Mindset Behind 2,600 Units

Gino Barbaro is a best-selling author and co-founder of Jake & Gino, but he did not start there. He opened a restaurant with his family in 1994, lost money on his early real estate deals, and only found his footing when he partnered with Jake, set hard parameters, and built a repeatable process for buying multifamily from mom-and-pop owners. That framework carried them through the last cycle without the blowups so many operators are living through now. Today Gino has transacted more than 2,600 units, owns 1,900, and his students have closed over 90,000 units and raised more than $800 million. This week on Real Estate Underground, Gino sits down with Ed Mathews to talk about the mindset underneath the numbers. His through line is simple and uncomfortable: money does not corrupt a person, it reveals them. And the reason two investors with the same deal get different outcomes usually comes down to what Gino calls financial flashpoints, the money memories each of us was raised inside. Save for a rainy day, money does not grow on trees, it takes money to make money. Gino spent years unlearning those beliefs before he could raise capital, syndicate, and build the portfolio he has now. What you will learn: Why your relationship with money, not your spreadsheet, decides whether you close deals, and how to spot the beliefs quietly holding you back. The mind shift from starting a business to make money to starting one to deliver value, and why Gino says it is the difference between one restaurant and six. Why the market moved from valuation through renovation to valuation through operations, and what that means for how you win now. The velocity of money, why you only make money when you exit, and the three things worth doing with capital after a sale. And why no deal is better than a bad deal, and how the ten-minute no became a superpower in a market where sellers still think it is 2021. Gino also shares the money-coaching business he is building with his wife and son at Barbaro360, why he believes legacy is not something you leave behind but something you activate today, and the six-acre farm in Florida where he goes to get his hands dirty. As he puts it, if you want to learn from someone, just make sure they are still doing it right now. If you are an operator trying to build something that lasts, this one is full of hard-won lessons from someone still in the work. Many stalled deals do not fail because the solution is weak. They fail because the team moved too fast before the buyer had a reason to care, a sponsor willing to mobilize, and enough confidence to take the risk. Randy Riemersma joins John McMahon and John Kaplan to unpack how false velocity, shallow discovery, and weak executive alignment create fragile opportunities that collapse late. He explains why elite sellers slow down early, uncover real business pain, connect operational problems to strategic outcomes, and manage the emotional side of buying when the decision starts to feel personal. Randy Riemersma is the founder of Sell with Precision, where he helps sales leaders strengthen go-to-market execution, leadership effectiveness, and sales operating discipline. He has spent decades in B2B sales, leadership, consulting, and executive coaching, with a focus on helping teams sell with greater clarity, precision, and business relevance. Benji and Mike catch up on everything that's happened in the three long weeks since we last recorded, beginning with Velocity FC's recent run of results. After three straight League One defeats, Spokane bounced back with an entertaining (and convincing) 2-1 win over Westchester SC at ONE Spokane Stadium. They then briefly recap the USL Cup win over AC Boise before diving deep into what changed against Westchester, including beautiful buildup play, standout performances from Medgy Alexandre and Derek Waldeck, and why Velocity's attacking tempo made all the difference. Then it's USMNT and World Cup time. Benji and Mike compare notes on the U.S. Men's National Team after wins over Paraguay and Australia followed by a dead rubber match loss to Türkiye. They also discuss Christian Pulisic, Folarin Balogun, Gio Reyna, the emergence of Sebastian Berhalter, and their expectations for the knockout stage match vs. Bosnia and Herzegovina. Finally, the show turns to one of the most memorable soccer moments for Benji and Mike: Egypt's national team training at Gonzaga's Luger Field. Benji and Mike reflect on watching Mohamed Salah, Omar Marmoush and the Pharaohs train just minutes from downtown Spokane before Benji shares the story of attending his very first FIFA World Cup match, Egypt vs. Belgium at Lumen Field. Benji describes why it became one of his favorite sporting experiences ever and Mike compares it to watching Brazil vs. Ghana in the 2006 World Cup in Germany. HR vs People Ops: Semantic or Substantive Difference?   IsIf your organization is still running a traditional Human Resources function - policy police, form processors, compliance checkers - you are bleeding candidates before they even apply. Modern talent acquisition doesn't need more administrators; it needs a People Operations engine built for growth, experience, and competitive advantage.   • From gatekeeping to enabling: how People Ops removes friction instead of creating it • Data over doctrine: using people analytics to drive decisions instead of hiding behind policy manuals • Employee experience as product: designing journeys that market themselves to passive candidates • Strategic workforce planning vs reactive backfilling and headcount approvals • Technology stack ownership: People Ops architects systems • Talent branding from the inside out: turning onboarding and internal mobility into recruiting assets • Velocity in hiring: streamlined processes that respect candidate time and manager urgency • Total rewards intelligence: comp, equity, and benefits strategy that wins offers, not just administers them • Manager enablement: coaching leaders to build teams instead of policing their paperwork • The cost of legacy HR: how bureaucratic drag directly inflates cost-per-hire and time-to-fill   This isn't a rebrand with a fresh business card. It's a fundamental rewiring of how your company attracts, supports, and retains talent. Yahoo is not just adding AI on top of existing products. It is using AI across product experiences, internal tools, engineering workflows, and modernization efforts. In this episode of The Tech Trek, Lee Zen, CTO at Yahoo, joins Amir Bormand to talk about modernizing at massive scale, moving from on prem infrastructure to the cloud, rebuilding internal tools with AI, and how engineering organizations need to rethink process when agents can move faster than people.Lee also shares how Yahoo views AI as a coworker, not just a tool, and why the next bottleneck in software delivery may be human judgment.Practical Takeaways• Modernization at scale often means operating in two worlds at once, keeping proven systems running while new cloud based services move faster.• AI can help teams move past legacy tools by reverse engineering requirements and rebuilding modern versions from scratch.• The real unlock is not only code generation. It is connecting agents to documents, chats, emails, production context, and internal knowledge with the right permissions.• As agents speed up execution, engineering teams need to rethink where human approval, judgment, and review should live.• The build versus buy equation is changing because some tools that were too expensive to build before may now be realistic to create internally.Timestamped Highlights00:31, Yahoo's mission and why the internet still feels hard to navigate02:01, Where AI fits across Yahoo products and engineering work03:30, The challenge of moving from on prem data centers to cloud based infrastructure05:27, How Yahoo has used AI to rebuild internal tools and leave technical debt behind07:25, Why agents need access to engineering context, not just code10:20, AI as a coworker and the shift from human speed to machine speed16:27, Why parts of the SDLC may need to change as AI increases delivery speedOne Line That Stuck“AI as a coworker, not just as a tool.”The Tech Trek is for technical leaders thinking through how teams build, operate, modernize, and adapt as AI changes the work.
