Richard Tuttle talks to Ben Luke about his influences—from writers to musicians, and, of course, other artists—and the cultural experiences that have shaped his life and work. Tuttle, who was born in 1941 in Rahway, New Jersey and grew up in nearby Roselle, lives today in New York, Abiquiú, New Mexico, and Mount Desert, Maine. He combines elements of drawing, painting, sculpture, artist books, printmaking and textiles, often arranged in lyrical installations, yet does not settle in any one discipline or medium. Pushing and pulling between different forms and modes, and between two and three dimensions, he has developed a singular response to architecture, which is often activated in unexpected ways by the placement of the objects he makes and their arrangement in spatial compositions. And while the meaning of the works is often as elusive as their form, they offer poetic enticement for their audience through a delight in broad and often humble materiality and a fertile relationship with different forms of language. Tuttle is seen as a leading figure in Post-Minimalism and certainly contributed to the liberating approach to form, matter and content unleashed by that tendency from the 1960s. But any attempt to neatly categorise his output is profoundly inadequate and limiting. Experiencing his exhibitions, one feels part of a philosophical response to the world, a questioning of what it is to inhabit it and what it might mean to make art in it. As Richard himself said in 1975, “if the artist does a piece of real work and we see it, it's as though we ourselves are doing it”.He discusses the fundamental importance of drawing to all his work and how the line he uses “is not a pure line like most people would think. It's actually the edge of something.” He reflects on art's relationship with the viewer and community, and art's role as a positive force in the world. He expresses his admiration for Van Eyck, for Nam June Paik, for his friend and mentor Agnes Martin, and for Philipp Otto Runge, the German colour-theorist and Romantic painter. He also discusses reading great works of literature in their original language and his love of architecture. For more than a decade, one conference has been getting ahead of the headlines instead of chasing them. Host Dr. Laura Scherck Wittcoff sits down with Mark Treitel, founder of TechTainment, and Konrad Trope, the conference's co-chair, ahead of this year's event to talk about how a niche gathering on technology, entertainment, and the law grew into one of the country's premier forums for examining AI's legal, ethical, and business impact, and why staying "gutsy" enough to tackle hard conversations before they go mainstream is the whole point. Guests Mark Treitel, Founder, TechTainment A senior intellectual property and technology litigator with Quinn Emanuel, Mark recognized 12 years ago that no conference was seriously addressing the intersection of technology, entertainment, and the law. Rather than wait for someone else to fill that gap, he created TechTainment under the auspices of the Los Angeles Intellectual Property Law Association (LAIPLA). What began as a small gathering of a handful of speakers has grown into a full-day conference featuring more than 30 speakers and nearly 200 attendees from across the country. Konrad Trope, Managing Shareholder, Trope and Trope Konrad comes from a family of eight attorneys whose legal careers date back to 1954, when his father, Eugene Trope, and his uncle co-founded the law firm Trope and Trope. Over the following 75 years, the firm has represented some of Hollywood's most illustrious names, including Cary Grant, Alan Ladd, Nicole Kidman, and Nick Cassavetes. Konrad has focused his own practice on entertainment and intellectual property litigation for the past 40 years. He was introduced to Mark and TechTainment in September 2022 after chairing a panel on ethics in the age of digital media at the seventh annual conference, and became co-chair in January 2023, since carving out a niche recruiting panelists and keynote speakers who are defining the boundaries of artificial intelligence. TechTainment is an annual, one-day conference produced by LAIPLA, now held in partnership with the Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law at Arizona State University (ASU) at ASU's California Center in downtown Los Angeles. An 11-year-old boy in rural Zambia once told Dr. Genesis Mwamba that he was about to attend school wearing shoes for the first time in his life. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Kevin Swanson, Timothy Reed and Adam McManus Amnesty Int'l apologized for smearing Christians and pro-lifers Some good news on the Christian persecution front today.   Amnesty International has officially apologized for publishing a report that accused 117 Christian and pro-life groups in the UK as “anti-rights.”   In the apology, Amnesty admitted the report “should never have been published” and fell “significantly short” of its standards for research. The report had attacked the Evangelical Alliance, Christian Concern, the Catholic Bishops' Conference of England and Wales, The Christian Institute, The Society for the Protection of Unborn Children, and the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association UK as well as crisis pregnancy centers. Oil is slowing through Strait of Hormuz and the Bab-al-Mandab strait Transporting oil and other goods out of the Middle East has become a real problem. Now the problem has reached its highest crisis point since the wars in the region fired up in the spring.  BBC reports the situation is far worse now, with Iranian pressure at the Strait of Hormuz, and Yemen Houthi pressure put on the Bab-al-Mandab Strait into the Red Sea. Only 10-15 ships a day pass through the Strait of Hormuz. That's about one-eighth the normal shipping flow. And the Bab-Al-Mandab Strait is only getting about 25-30 ships a day. That's about half the normal flow.  Saudi Arabia and Iran's economies both took a hit Saudi Arabia's economy took a 4.8% hit in the 2nd Quarter of this year. Iran is looking at a 5.4% decline for the year, according to International Monetary Fund numbers. Iran is also dealing with 68% inflation this year. Drought and fires impacting Europe God's hand has fallen hard on Western Europe. The United Kingdom experienced its driest July in nearly 200 years. Much of the nation is in drought. France recently battled its largest recorded wildfire, following months of drought and extreme heat. Parts of the Danube River have dropped to the lowest levels in 30 years. Italy's River Po has also registered a historic low. And Germany's Rhine River is at its lowest level since 2018. And fires in Spain and France took down over a million acres, resulting in the destruction of about 300 structures. Syrians & Haitians, here temporarily, were supposed to self deport Monday Here in the United States, 356,000 U.S. immigrants on Temporary Protected Status were ordered to leave by August 3rd. Presently this affects Syrians and Haitians, but may eventually impact another 1,000,000 immigrants from other countries.   This comes after a U.S. Supreme Court ruling issued last month backed the Trump administration's policy to end Temporary Protected Status. The U.S. Department of Homeland Security website is encouraging self-deportation, offering free travel, and a $2,600 bonus to get them out. New York is pushing assisted suicide and the nuns are pushing back The state of New York is pushing medically-assisted suicide, and a group of Catholic nuns are protesting. The Carmelite Sisters for the Aged and Infirm and the Dominican Sisters of Hawthorne have been granted a reprieve by a federal district court. They will not have to counsel terminally ill patients or assist them with medically assisted suicide, at least for now, according to the Beckett Fund for Religious Liberty. Christian physician assistant vindicated for opposing transgender insanity A Christian physician's assistant won her court case in Michigan.  Valerie Kloosterman, a University of Michigan Health-West health worker, was fired five years ago, because of her stance against transgenderism and her affirmation of biblical principles. The health system agreed to pay $410,000 to Kloosterman and her attorneys, while also pledging to “create a religious accommodation policy in accordance with the law, notify and train all its employees, [and] grant reasonable religious accommodations without retaliation.”   Armed citizens stopped mass murderer at Idaho In-N-Out  Burgers Two armed citizens stopped a mass murderer at an In-N-Out Burger restaurant in Twin Falls, Idaho over the weekend. Police Chief Matthew Hicks recognized the two heroes for their courageous actions taken when they returned fire on the assailant. HICKS: “We can confirm that there was an off-duty state trooper and a citizen who actively engaged the suspect by returning gunfire towards him. We want to take a moment and commend the actions of the off-duty officer and the citizen and their heroic action to stop this incident. We believe their actions helped drive the suspect away from the scene, preventing further casualties.” Three died and seven more were wounded in the rampage. The suspect, who used an AR-style rifle, now identified as Chad Williams, died as a result of self-inflicted gunshot wounds. The New York Post reported that Terry Dudley, a taxi driver in Twin Falls, was among those hit by bullets, according to a GoFundMe account to raise money for his medical expenses.  Dudley, a widower and father-of-four, was shot twice in the back as he charged his Tesla. Massachusetts considers birthday abortions without exceptions The state of Massachusetts is on the verge of allowing abortions up until birth without any exceptions.  Dr. Christina Francis with the American Association of Pro-Life Obstetricians and Gynecologists, commented on the measure. She said, “It is never medically necessary to purposely end the life of a pre-born child in order to save her mother. Under certain circumstances where a pregnancy complication threatens a mother's life, a physician must separate mom from baby, sometimes when the baby is too young to survive outside the womb.”  Both houses have approved the bill — now awaiting the governor's signature. Maura Healey is Massachusetts's first lesbian governor.   Call Governor Healy at (617) 725-4005 or (413) 784-1200 and urge her not to sign this law that allows abortionists to kill babies on their birthdays. The Wisdom book of Proverbs reminds us that “When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; but when a wicked man rules, the people groan.” (Proverbs 29:2.) Support for homosexual faux marriage is collapsing Support for homosexual faux marriage is collapsing in the states. The latest YouGov Economist poll finds only 54% of Americans now in favor of legalizing the practice, while 32% oppose. The percentage of those who approved of the legalization of homosexual faux marriage peaked in the United States about three years ago at 70%. Washington state fires burned 6,000 acres Those fires in Washington state have burned down about 6,000 acres, including 700 structures. Over 60,000 people have been evacuated from the Spokane area. Christian singer booted from Alaska Airlines flight over “preaching” Christian singer Whitney Lynn's website describes her as an internationally-recognized evangelist, singer, songwriter, and deliverance minister with millions of Instagram views. Last week, before an Alaska Airlines flight took off because of some delay, Whitney stood up and boldly shared the Gospel of Jesus Christ in a relevant and pithy manner to the captive audience on the plane. Listen to what she said as she filmed herself. LYNN: “Hello, everybody. Good morning. I know we're all waiting. It's kind of frustrating, right? This wait? But I want to tell you that God's timing is perfect, and God knows everything. Maybe He's sparing us from danger today. “So, I want you to rest and know that Jesus Christ loves you so much that He died on the cross for your sins. He rose again in three days. He's alive and He's the one true God. But the wages of our sin is death. Hell forever. “Apart from Jesus, we won't make it to Heaven. But He loves you so much. Make him Lord. Repent of your sins. He is coming back very soon. I pray protection over this flight, in the name of Jesus. Amen.” Oddly enough, the airline staff said they felt “unsafe” and proceeded to escort her off the plane. As she was making her way down the aisle to get off the plane, Whitney dialogued with a male Alaska Airlines flight attendant on video. FLIGHT ATTENDANT: “The crews don't feel safe with you.” LYNN: “They don't feel safe? FLIGHT ATTENDANT: “Yeah.” LYNN: “Oh my gosh! I didn't know the message of Jesus Christ was unsafe. Wow! Do I have any guns or anything like that? No, I don't. “So, freedom of speech is not safe. I tell you what this is. It's called spiritual warfare. Is it a crime? Is it against the law? Can you tell me that? I'm just asking you a question. FLIGHT ATTENDANT: “I'm not going to answer any more questions.” LYNN: “I'm getting my stuff as I'm talking. So, can you answer the question? Is it against the law? To preach the gospel? FLIGHT ATTENDANT:  “I don't need to answer any questions.” LYNN:  “You can. You sure can. Last days. People can't talk about Jesus anymore. That's how you know there's power in that name. Makes people feel unsafe. That's sad, very sad. “Well, God bless everybody. If you know Jesus today, make Him Lord of your life and continue to spread the Gospel. Persecuted to be a Christian, it's coming. We're gonna go to jail.” Whitney Lynn has now been banned for future travel on Alaskan Airlines as well as a few other carriers. For Netanyahu, it was his first time back at the White House since hostilities commenced with Iran in late February. The meeting also comes as domestic support for Israel continues to slip, while the Iran war is driving up oil prices before the midterms. In his meeting with Zelensky, President Trump discussed ongoing support for the Ukrainian war effort against Russia. Zelensky stated, “We also spoke about diplomacy. It's important that the diplomatic process be reinvigorated. Our teams will arrange the details of their further communication. I am grateful to the United States for its firm support.”

Episode 400 of RevolutionZ assesses Classical Marxism are a conceptual framework for guiding political activism. A revolutionary theory can feel powerful precisely because it is big, elegant, and confident. The problem is, big and elegant or not, what does the theory help with or hinder when you try to use it on Monday morning. This episode takes a hard look at classical Marxism as a practical guide for organizers, and lays out why its standard “core toolbox” often misses, inadequately understands, or even denies many things that actually drive people: racism, sexism, authority, fear, dignity, identity, the everyday pressures that shape consciousness and behavior, and even the dynamics of class relations and class struggle. The episode walks through nine specific weaknesses that many Sixties New Leftists felt as the Seventies unfoded, from abstractions that work better on decades than on daily movement decisions, to thin accounts of organizational dynamics, bureaucracy, violence, and severe discipline. We  dig into how classical dialectics over-focuses on one dominant contradiction and trains attention away from smaller-scale relations and the stubborn persistence of stability. If you've ever watched a movement mechanically repeat worn out arguments, rhetorically polarize, and turn theory into a loyalty test, we seek the conceptual foundations that make or at the least permit that to happen. The episode then turns to human nature and psychology and argues that you can't build effective revolutionary strategy without a usable theory of consciousness formation, motivation, and subjectivity. Claims that “material interest automatically produces revolutionary consciousness” is a dangerous over-simplified shortcut that misses why that often doesn't happen much less why sometimes the reverse occurs so that, for example, workers become reactionary or blind to attacks on their own interests. We discuss as well modern reactionary politics, confirmation bias, and the question that won't go away: What kind of updated left political theory can be both complex enough to be true and clear and concise enough to be usable by real people in real world time conflicted and crisis-moved situations? Please, if you disagree with what this episode--and the past few--present, please leave a critical comment, or write a rebuttal, or at least send me an email. Sharla Lee Shults fulfilled her childhood desire to become an educator, graduating from Troy University, Troy, AL. Upon graduation, she began teaching high school chemistry and mathematics. After four years, she ventured outside education and began a second career in the railroad industry. Sharla reentered the educational field after an eleven-year break, and her experiences from her railroad career provided a real-world connection to the classroom. She worked with Special Olympics and was instrumental in establishing Exchange Club youth organizations in three high schools located in Panama City, Florida. Sharla's last year in the classroom involved working with teens in an at-risk dropout prevention program. In 2001, Sharla once again left the classroom but remained in the field of education with Beacon Educator in the Bay District School System (Panama City, FL) writing curriculum and providing professional development for teachers across Florida. She semi-retired in 2008, at which time she became an Online Learning Specialist for Beacon.

(Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Jonathan Clark and Adam McManus India looking to restrict foreign funding of Christian groups India's Parliament is considering a bill to restrict foreign funding of Christian and other faith-based groups.  The measure would allow authorities to seize the assets of such organizations if their registration is canceled. Officials have already canceled the registrations of over 22,000 non-governmental organizations.  Republican Congressman Chris Smith of New Jersey is calling on the Trump administration to address this issue with India. He wrote, “If adopted, the bill would sharply expand the ability of the Indian state to seize the property and assets of groups that receive foreign funding — the vast majority of these being Christian churches and charities, such as hospitals and schools.” According to Open Doors, India is the 12th worst country worldwide for the persecution of Christians. In John 10:10, Jesus said, “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.” 6.8-magnitude earthquake hit Japanese island A 6.8-magnitude earthquake hit Japan's southern island of Kyushu yesterday.  The quake caused a collapse at a shopping mall, killing several people. Dozens of people are missing or injured. The Fire and Disaster Management Agency advised over 260,000 people to evacuate the area.   Japan's Nuclear Regulation Authority reported no issues with nearby nuclear power plants.  Please pray that God would comfort the Japanese families of those who have died and restore those who have been injured. Senate confirmed Jay Clayton as Director of National Intelligence The U.S. Senate voted on July 28 to confirm Jay Clayton, who was nominated by President Donald Trump to be the next Director of National Intelligence, reports The Epoch Times. Clayton's confirmation by the Senate came after the Senate Intelligence Committee voted 9–8 along party lines on July 21 to advance his nomination. He was ultimately confirmed with 51 senators' support to 47 voting against. SENATOR: “On this vote, the yeas are 51, the nays are 47, and the nomination is confirmed. And the president will be immediately notified of the Senate's action.” Previously, Jay Clayton served as the U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York as well as the chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission under President Trump's first administration. Justice Department affirmed parents' right to disciple children The United States Justice Department issued religious liberty guidance to all executive departments and agencies last week. The memo reaffirmed many religious freedom protections in federal law. It also added a new piece of guidance.  The memo stated, “Parents have the right to direct the religious upbringing and education of their children. This right extends beyond a mere right to teach religion in the confines of one's home and encompasses the choices parents make for their children outside the home.” In Deuteronomy 6:6-7, God said, “These words which I command you today shall be in your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up.” Drinking water in three cities contained Abortion Kill Pill A new peer-reviewed study found that the drinking water in multiple cities contained the Abortion Kill Pill called Mifepristone. Those cities include Austin, Texas; Blacksburg, Virginia; and Carbondale, Illinois. For years, pro-life groups have been calling on the Environmental Protection Agency to track Mifepristone.  Kristan Hawkins with Students for Life of America stated, “A study inspired by [our] clean water advocacy shows that our concerns are valid. In three cities where water was tested, the active metabolites of Mifepristone, the Chemical Abortion Pill, were in the water. We need the EPA to nationalize this examination, especially in light of so many struggling with infertility.” About 700,000 chemical abortions each year send long-lasting abortion drugs and human remains into America's wastewater systems. Mifepristone blocks progesterone, thus starving the baby. This drug has long-lasting metabolites that remain in the water because the water treatment plants are generally not capable of filtering out these chemicals. GOP Congresswoman Mary Miller of Illinois has introduced the Clean Water for All Life Act. Appearing on EWTN, Kristan Hawkins, President of Students for Life, said this. HAWKINS: “Mothers are taking these pills at home, in their dormitories, and when they are told when the cramping gets too severe to go on the toilet and to keep flushing and not to look -- meaning chemically tainted placenta and blood, as well as the human remains of our child, are being flushed in our waterways. And when you think about the fact that you're talking over 700,000 abortions a year are happening this way, this means, at a minimum, 50 tons of chemically-tainted blood and placenta are being flushed down our toilets with human remains every year, laced with anti-progesterone metabolites, which, shockingly, after they pass through the mother's body, starve the child and kill the child, do not go inactive. “They actually remain active as they pass through our water system. Voters want political candidates to address the economy The U.S. midterm elections are coming up in November.  Pew Research surveyed voters on what issues they want candidates to address. The top issue was the economy. Voters are especially concerned about affordability and the cost of living. Americans are evenly divided over which party they agree with on economic policies.  If the election were held today, 43 percent of respondents said they would back a Democrat candidate for Congress. Meanwhile, 37 percent said they would back a Republican.  Younger churchgoers want more liturgy in worship service Lifeway Research released a survey on liturgy in worship services at Protestant churches. Liturgies can include elements like set prayers, readings, and formal patterns. Forty-two percent of churchgoers say their church has some of the liturgical style. Twenty-seven percent say they have no liturgical style. And 24 percent say they have a very liturgical style. Seventy-five percent of respondents said they are satisfied with the amount of liturgy at their church. Thirteen percent want more liturgy, while five percent want less. Surprisingly, younger generations are more likely to want their church to include more liturgy.  California lifeguard saved 10-year-old boy NBC Bay Area reports a lifeguard saved the life of a 10-year-old boy at a California beach this week. Waves were overwhelming the boy at Seabright Beach in Santa Cruz. A 16-year-old lifeguard rushed into the water to save him. Other joined in as well.  The dramatic rescue drew the attention of President Donald Trump. He wrote on X, “We're going to bring this heroic young man, and his family, into the White House with, perhaps, the boy he saved, to give him a High Civilian Honor. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Kevin Swanson, Timothy Reed and Adam McManus U.S. condemns Nigerian Islamic massacre of Christian family The U.S. government is condemning the Islamic massacre of a Nigerian pastor's family in northern Nigeria that occurred earlier this month.   Nine family members of Pastor Ezekiel Dachomo were killed in the recent attack. Pastor Dachomo was known throughout the country for his assigning blame to the Nigerian government for escalating violence against Nigerian Christians.   According to TruthNigeria, which first reported the killings, dozens of others were killed by radical Islamist groups in northern Nigeria on July 11th. President Trump himself had re-posted Pastor Dachomo's recent video where he was crying out for international help, while he stood in a mass grave of dead Christians. Some now suspect the Nigerian government as complicit in the murder of Pastor Dachomo's family as punishment for the video. And now, Republican Senator Ted Cruz of Texas has criticized the Nigerian government. On an X post, he wrote, “Nigerian officials have created an environment that facilitates mass violence against Christians and religious minorities by imposing blasphemy and Sharia laws and looking the other way at jihadist atrocities. The U.S. government knows the Nigerian officials responsible for these policies, I have been pushing my bill to sanction them.” Let us remember this sober spiritual lesson from Psalm 9:17: “The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God.” Are Europe's worst fires connected to perversion and hostility to homeschoolers? Meantime, Spain and France are suffering through the worst fires of the century as 300,000 people have been evacuated so far. That's the largest evacuation since World War II, reports ABC News. Specifically, 13,566 fires have swept across 448 square miles in France. And in Spain, 591 square miles have burned this year which is six times the amount that burned through the first half of 2025. It has resulted in the displacement of 250,000 French and 50,000 Spaniards. Spain approved of faux-homosexual marriage in 2005. And France approved of sexually perverted marriages in 2013. Plus, homeschooling was also recently banned in France. Micah 3 speaks of this tyranny: “And I said, Hear, I pray you, O heads of Jacob, and ye princes of the house of Israel; is it not for you to know judgment? Who hate the good, and love the evil . . . Who also eat the flesh of my people, and flay their skin from off them;. . . Then shall they cry unto the Lord, but He will not hear them:” Sweden, Germany and Netherlands oppose homeschooling The same has occurred in Sweden, Germany, and now the Netherlands. Two months ago, the Netherlands' highest court ruled that parents can only claim the homeschool exemption if there is no suitable school nearby, virtually making it impossible to homeschool. And now, England has also adopted a new restrictive homeschool law, signed by King Charles III in April. According to the U.S.-based Homeschool Legal Defense Association, the new law “grants local authorities the power to prevent families from homeschooling if officials believe a proposed home education program is unsuitable.” Micah 3:2-4 speaks of this tyranny: “And I said, Hear, I pray you, O heads of Jacob, and you princes of the house of Israel: Is it not for you to know judgment? You who hate the good, and love the evil. … who also eat the flesh of My people, and flay their skin from off them. … Then shall they cry unto the Lord, but He will not hear them.” Nuclear power coming to the Islamic world Nuclear power is coming to the Islamic world. The United States has signed an agreement with the Islamic state of Saudi Arabia, providing a legal framework for U.S. companies to participate in Saudi Arabia's civilian nuclear power program. The Muslim countries of Pakistan and Iran have already built a nuclear program. The Muslim-dominated countries of Turkey and Egypt are also in the process of building a nuclear program. Iran and South Korea began their nuclear program in the 1970s, Pakistan in the 1960s, and now, Turkey in 2018, and Egypt in 2022.  Nicaraguan communist president suspended elections Nicaragua's communist president, Daniel Ortega, has suspended his country's elections indefinitely.  The Central American country continues to suffer under the iron grip of communism, and conservative outlet Human Events notes that, “Nicaragua's last election in 2021 was widely disputed after Ortega's government arrested opposition candidates, activists, and members of the business community ahead of the vote.” Of the 43 nations in Latin America, Nicaragua has the second worst Gross Domestic Product per capita — right next to the other communist country — Cuba, and also, Haiti. Forest fires in Northwest America California, Washington, and Oregon are already lit up in forest fires this season. That's well ahead of last year.  In California, there are 3,338 wildfires which have burned 195,000 acres. And in Oregon, 34 major blazes have burned 1.3 million acres, reports The Statesman-Journal. Oregon has burned more acreage than last year and the season's not over. Mostly the fires have been started by an act of God — that is, lightning strikes, reports FoxWeather.com. America ready to deport hundreds of thousands of Haitians The temporary protected status for hundreds of thousands of Haitians in America is expected to end this week, according to CBS News.  U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, or ICE, is preparing to launch operations to deport these immigrants, though there is still an option for immigrants to leave on their own.  The Department of Homeland Security explained, “What we would say now is it's closing time which means you don't have to go home, but you can't stay here."  Inflation plagues America Inflation fears have saddled the U.S. economy. Thirty-year U.S. bond yields are up to 5.2%. It's been 20 years since the yields have been in that territory.  Thirty-year mortgage rates hit 6.77% --the highest rate in about a year. MoneyLion.com analyzed pay increases versus cost-of-living increases over the last five years across the U.S. and found 30 states are losing ground. This is impacting the middle class more than anybody else.   Folks in Massachusetts and New Jersey have lost 23% to inflation while Louisiana and Mississippi gained a little ground with a 10-11% bump.  Worldwide government debt increased by 6% In other economic news, government debt for the developed nations of the world has popped up another 6% overall this year.   Fitch Ratings is forecasting a $4.2 trillion bump this year, of which the United States is at the forefront.  Top debtor nations are the United States with a forecasted deficit of 7.8% of our Gross Domestic Product, which is the total market value of goods and services produced within America in a year. The United States is followed by France at 5% of their Gross Domestic Product, Britain at 4.8% of their GDP, Germany at 3.7% of their GDP, and Japan at 3.1% of their Gross Domestic Product. For the first nine months of this fiscal year, President Donald Trump's spendy government exceeded the 9-month average of deficits for 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025 — the four years for which President Joe Biden was responsible.  The U.S. deficit topped $1.4 trillion for the first nine months, and now is on track for a $2 trillion deficit this year. That compares to the Biden four-year average of $1.67 trillion. Extra print stories Shooter in Seattle killed three people A mass shooter in Seattle, Washington, killed three people and wounded several more on Sunday, CNN reported.  A suspect has been taken into custody, two weapons have been recovered,  and one report indicated that there was a firefight between more than one shooter.  In a statement the night of the shooting, Seattle Mayor Katie Wilson promised, “In the days ahead, we will establish what happened and be transparent with the public about what we have learned. Tonight, our attention belongs to the people whose lives were taken, those fighting to recover, and the families beside them.”  Genesis 6:11 reminds us, “The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence.” Minnesota GOP candidate Mike Lindell gets backlash over amnesty plan Mike Lindell, CEO of My Pillow and GOP gubernatorial candidate in the state of Minnesota, has come under backlash for his amnesty plan for illegal aliens. Lindell suggested ending deportations in Minnesota for six months, and per the Dallas Express, “Lindell proposed giving illegal aliens six months to register with the government, submit fingerprints, undergo background checks, and receive a conditional work visa. Applicants would not receive citizenship or voting rights.” However, under Lindell's plan, these conditional visas would not expire, and the immigrants would “never have to leave.”  Immigration continues to be a major issue in conservative circles, and many have seen Lindell's views as a betrayal.

(Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Jonathan Clark and Adam McManus Vietnamese Communists have falsely charged 119 Christians Communist authorities in central Vietnam have charged 119 Christians so far this year. Officials accuse the believers of being involved in organizations that support autonomy for ethnic minority groups. Mervyn Thomas with Christian Solidarity Worldwide noted, “Vietnam is increasingly becoming one of the most repressive states when it comes to persecuting and prosecuting religious groups.” Psalm 53:4 asks, “Have the workers of iniquity no knowledge, who eat up My people as they eat bread, and do not call upon God?” Scottish authorities fired pro-life teacher Pro-lifers are petitioning authorities in Scotland to protect religious liberty. A Scottish high school fired a Catholic teacher last year for saying she opposed abortion. Sarah Morse said, “To be 'cancelled' and lose my livelihood because of my religious identity is a terrifying precedent for the teaching profession in Scotland.” The Society for the Protection of Unborn Children started a petition to support Morse last week. The petition has garnered nearly 20,000 signatures already. He is the country's seventh prime minister in a decade. He is also a self-identified socialist.  During his first speech as prime minister, Burnham criticized the free-market strategies of the late Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher in the 1980s. He called for a new economic model of stronger government control.  Listen. BURNHAM: “We will take power out of here and carry it into every postcode in the land, so that they can do more. And, in doing more, build a new economy where we put life's essentials back under stronger public control to make them affordable to you again.” By contrast, the late British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher famously said, “The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.” Prime Minister Thatcher also said this: THATCHER: “Socialists don't like people to do things for themselves. Socialists like to get people dependent on the state. You'll never build a great society that way. We were the first country to attempt and to succeed in rolling back the frontiers of socialism, which is the first cousin to communism.” Psalm 146:3 says, “Do not put your trust in princes, nor in a son of man, in whom there is no help.” Trump; Cuba is capital of 21st century Communism Here in the United States, the Trump administration categorized Cuba as the capital of 21st century communism. A report from the Department of State noted, “Many of the most significant upheavals in recent American political history – from the George Floyd riots to the rise of Antifa to the explosion of pro-terrorist activism on American college campuses – can be linked, in some way, shape, or form, to Cuban influence.”  Listen to comments from Secretary of State Marco Rubio on the issue. RUBIO: “I can tell you, our system doesn't want communism. We're certainly not going to allow communist efforts to undermine American society and drive wedges into our country. “One of the leading culprits of that, for many years, the intellectual authors, particularly in our hemisphere, is the Cuban regime, which our report on Monday outlined. U.S. imposed 25% tariff on Brazilian imports The U.S. imposed a 25 percent tariff on most imports from Brazil yesterday.  The Trump administration accused Brazil of unfair trade practices and failing to negotiate. The tariff will affect about 18 to 26 percent of the country's exports to the U.S. Brazilian President Lula da Silva is a left-wing leader. Secretary of State Marco Rubio wrote on X, “President Lula and his government have not negotiated with the U.S. in good faith. His economic policies are bad for Americans and bad for Brazilians.” No more U.S. aid to Nigeria over persecution of Christians The U.S. House of Representatives passed a measure last week to withhold aid from Nigeria over the persecution of Christians there.  The provision is part of the “Fiscal Year 2027 National Security, Department of State, and Related Programs Appropriations Act.” The measure now awaits approval in the Senate.  Republican Congressman Greg Steube of Florida wrote on X, “My amendment to withhold 100% of U.S. aid to Nigeria until its government stops the slaughter of Christians has PASSED. American taxpayers should NEVER bankroll governments that turn a blind eye while Christians are abducted, tortured, and murdered. No more wasteful foreign aid!” Nigeria has become the epicenter of Christian martyrdom in the world. In the initial 96 days of 2026, from January 1 to April 6, Muslims killed 1,402 Nigerian Christians. Shockingly, that represents 72% of Christians killed worldwide.  In 2025, 3,490 Nigerian Christians were martyred.  A total of 52,000 brothers and sisters in Christ have lost their lives in the last decade in Nigeria.  Worldview listeners from Thailand and North Dakota weigh in MariaLee Watson in Bangkok, Thailand wrote me and said, “Adam, we are a homeschooling family of four kids – Eliana, 11, Elijah, 9, Elisabeth, 7, and Evalee, 6. We have greatly appreciated having a Christian-focused news report. Beforehand, we had avoided the news, in large part. Thank you for all that you do.” 7 Worldview listeners gave $1,517 And finally, by Wednesday night at 8:45pm Central, 7 Worldview listeners stepped up to the plate and invested their treasure to fund the six-member team behind The Worldview for another year. Our thanks to Lisa in Beacon, New York who gave $50 and Luke in West Line, Missouri who told me he will continue his $25/month pledge for another year for a gift of $300.
