Mit dem ersten Advent beginnt nicht nur die Vorfreude auf Weihnachten, sondern auch das Kirchenjahr. Entsprechend festlich feiert Gemeindeleiterin Christine Vollmer in Köniz Gottesdienst. Unter der Leitung von Dominik Nanzer singt ein grosser Chor Werke von Josef Gabriel Rheinberger. Wenn die erste Kerze am Adventskranz brennt, freuen sich viele schon auf das helle Strahlen des Christbaums. Doch zunächst bedeutet das adventliche Warten für Christinnen und Christen auch eine Einübung in Wachsamkeit, wann und wie Gott in die Welt kommt. Den Gottesdienst leitet Christine Vollmer, die auch die Predigt halten wird. Es erklingen Teile des doppelchörigen «Cantus Missae» von Josef Gabriel Rheinberger. Hierfür haben sich der Kirchenchor St. Josef, der Chor Münchenbuchsee und der Thomas Chor Köniz unter der Leitung von Dominik Nanzer zusammengetan.
