On the Evolving Wellness Podcast, host Sarah interviews board-certified psychiatrist Dr. Josef Dering, who previously worked in the pharmaceutical industry and as an FDA medical officer in psychiatry drug safety. He explains why he now believes psychiatric medications don't work for most conditions and describes how time-pressured, checklist-based care and “chemical imbalance” narratives lead to escalating drug cocktails without addressing root causes. He warns that benzodiazepines may help short term but can worsen anxiety over time, cause interdose withdrawal, degrade sleep architecture, and impair concentration, making them a “Faustian bargain,” and stresses slow, supervised tapering due to difficult withdrawal. Dering outlines non-drug approaches targeting body, mind, and “soul” (health behaviors, skills-based therapies, relationships, and meaning). He also argues high-potency THC cannabis increases psychosis risk and may lead to long recoveries and misdiagnosis.Connect withj Dr Josef - https://www.youtube.com/@taperclinichttps://www.instagram.com/drjosefwittdoerring/ _________Sponsored By:→ Bon Charge | Go to https://boncharge.com/products/demi-red-light-device?rfsn=8108115.26608d & use code SARAHKLEINER for 15% off storewide.→ VivaRays | This episode is sponsored by VivaRays - VivaRays Blue - code YOGI https://vivarays.com/ → Organifi | For an exclusive offer, go to https://www.organifi.com/SARAHK for 20% off your order._________Timestamp:00:00 Benzos Quick Relief00:55 Episode Setup Disclaimer02:29 Podcast Intro Housekeeping03:42 Meet Dr Dering04:30 Why He Questions Meds07:19 FDA Safety Reality Check08:44 Host Story Benzos12:16 Sponsor Red Light14:29 Benzos Faustian Bargain15:48 Body Mind Soul Framework21:42 Sponsor Blue Blockers23:09 Motivation Rock Bottom26:30 Medical Trust Broken29:12 Suicidality on Med Cocktails31:23 Withdrawal Trap and Tapering34:20 PR Narrative Around Antidepressants36:22 Meds and Mass Violence Debate39:27 Gender Ideology in Schools42:57 Cannabis Mental Health Risks44:26 THC Potency and Psychosis Data48:54 Paranoia as Warning Sign51:34 Safe Tapering and Final Advice——— This video is not medical advice & as a supporter to you and your health journey - I encourage you to monitor your labs and work with a professional!________________________________________Get all my free guides and product recommendations to get started on your journey!https://www.sarahkleinerwellness.com/all-free-resourcesCheck out all my courses to understand how to improve your mitochondrial health & experience long lasting health! Architect Mariam Issoufou has always been very ambivalent about museums: "Who decided that the only way to look at art is inside this intimidating, grand building, full of looted objects? For me, they are where history goes to die". So she was sceptical about accepting the job of designing a new museum in the city of Tambacounda, Senegal. Will she succeed in creating a museum that breaks the mould? With thanks to Mariam Issoufou and her team, Bassem and Wassim Shaaban, Professor Harriet Harriss PhD, Professor Lesley Lokko OBE, the Josef and Anni Albers Foundation, and Nicholas Fox Weber

TODAY on the GWA Podcast: the renowned art historian and writer, Nicholas Fox Weber discussing ANNI ALBERS! A graduate of Columbia College and Yale University, who received his PhD at the University of Groningen, Weber is a prolific and esteemed author of over a dozen books – including The Bauhaus Group, Le Corbusier, Balthus A Biography, Patron Saints, The Art of Babar, and many more – as well as being the founder of a non-profit organisation that supports arts, education and medical care in Senegal… But! The reason why we are speaking to him today is because, for nearly 50 years, he has devoted himself to the lives and works of the pioneering 20th century German-born artists – who lived in the US for much of their adult life – Josef and Anni Albers. As the Executive Director of their foundation, Weber has written extensively on them, bringing their work to the fore, and championing and preserving their legacy. While Josef Albers is a trailblazing artist whose theories on colour, and teaching methods, have shaped much of contemporary art, it is the brilliant Anni Albers who we will be discussing today. Born in 1899, and a student of the Bauhaus and a teacher at Black Mountain College, Albers is known for spellbinding weavings that span large-scale practical wall-coverings to smaller thread-based works that she infused with geometric, rhythmic patterning and electric colouring. The first artist working in textile to be honoured with a major solo exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art, and a celebrated writer known for her books – On Designing / On Weaving – Albers, it is fair to say brought the medium into the modernist world, while also deeply rooting it in ancient textile traditions from around the world. I am delighted to be speaking to Weber ahead of the publication of his extraordinary new book, Anni Albers: A Life, out this April, that charts the life of this artist who he was lucky enough to call a close friend, and who we are lucky to now witness in a new way thanks to the extensive personal stories he has gathered from the many times they would meet, whereby he would rush to write down everything she said verbatim, so we could one day have this extraordinary record. It was a great weekend for motorsports in Phoenix as IndyCar had a successful return to the desert as part of its doubleheader with NASCAR. Conor Daly was in town to take part of the festivities, and he's reporting what he saw on a new edition of Speed Street. He joins Producer Bobby to break down the action from the high paced one-mile oval, debate who was wrong in the on-track collisions and celebrate the enthusiastic environment surrounding the event. They also look ahead to the Arlington Grand Prix this weekend and give some picks for the series' inaugural trip to Jerry Land. Race winner Josef Newgarden joins the show to discuss his 2026 season so far, which currently finds him atop the IndyCar points standings. A sneaky good day in St. Pete and a closeout victory in Phoenix gives the two-time champion a five-point margin over Kyle Kirkwood. The guys discuss using the high line on ovals and how a love for high-speed corners has led to Josef ranking seconds on the all-time IndyCar oval wins list. Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company.

On today's episode we have a wide reaching, in depth and fascinating discussion on Chinese Marxism. We examine Marxism's historical emergence in China and it's adaptation to Chinese conditions - both as an idea guiding the Communist Party of China that culminated in the 1949 Chinese revolution as well as post-1949 state craft and socialist development in China. We also pay special attention to the influences of the Russian Revolution and Soviet Union on Chinese Marxism and socialism, as well as the critical differences and tensions between them from the 1920s, through Soviet collapse in 1991, to how the Soviet experience is understood in China today. Our guest is Professor of Politics and International Relations at East China Normal University Dr. Josef Gregory Mahoney. Dr. Mahoney also serves as a Concurrent Professor of Marxism and Senior Research Fellow with Jiangsu's top think tank—the Institute for the Development of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics —based at Southeast University in Nanjing. He teaches seminars on Marxism at ECNU, and his research methods emphasize dialectical and historical materialism, including his recent work on China's rise as an advanced technological society undergoing rapid green transformations. He holds a Ph.D., M.Phil., and B.A. from George Washington University; as well as an M.PA. and M.S.P.H. from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Prior to his doctoral studies he was a public health officer with the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC/ATSDR).

Meanwhile, energy remains out of favor, yet Josef Schachter lays out a tightening supply/demand case (and a clear playbook for scaling in before the next macro-driven run). Segment 1 & 2 - Brien Lundin, editor of the Gold Newsletter and host of the New Orleans Investment Conference, shares his insights on the current state of the precious metals market. He discusses the potential for continued sideways trading in gold and silver before the next rally, while highlighting opportunities in exploration and development-stage companies like K2 Gold, Aris Minerals, and Banyan Gold. Brien also emphasizes the importance of individual company stories and the excitement of potential new discoveries across various global jurisdictions. He reviews the 2026 World Outlook Conference, providing insights into OPEC+ production constraints, the impacts of global depletion rates, and the emerging energy demands driven by the "AI revolution". Today we're joined by Sateesh Nori. Sateesh is the chief legal futurist at LawDroid and a senior research fellow at NYU School of Law. His work sits at the crossroads of justice, technology, and public service. Before moving into legal innovation, he spent years serving New Yorkers as a housing rights attorney and later as a managing attorney at both The Legal Aid Society and Legal Services of New York City. Now, at LawDroid, Sateesh is focused on making sure legal technology isn't just cutting edge, but also credible, ethical, and grounded in real-world needs, especially the urgent need to expand access to justice. Last year, he partnered with Housing Court Answers and the legal tech company Josef to launch Roxanne the Repair Bot, an AI-powered assistant designed to help New York tenants understand and assert their rights when dealing with unsafe or substandard housing conditions. He is also the author of Sheltered: Twenty Years in Housing Court, which is a powerful look at the systemic challenges facing tenants, as well as the lawyers who work to serve them. In this episode, Sateesh shares how LawDroid's tools are helping tenants navigate complex legal processes, why trust is so essential in the future of AI and law, how law schools can better prepare lawyers for a tech-enabled profession, and what he is exploring through his research fellowship at NYU.

What if the reason your learning feels productive—but your impact feels stuck—has nothing to do with effort? Many change leaders and improvement practitioners are excellent learners. You're likely a Learning Enthusiast—like me. You read the books, attend the workshops, listen to podcasts, and gather ideas with genuine enthusiasm. And yet, despite all that effort, learning doesn't always turn into impact. In fact, it can sometimes lead to overwhelm or paralysis—more ideas, more options, and less clarity about what to actually do.I've lived this pattern myself, and I see it again and again in my work with leaders around the world. When learning becomes something we collect rather than something we practice—and bring to fruition through our habits—it stalls our impact. The challenge isn't gaining more knowledge. It's learning how to turn insight into behavior—and connect behavior to results. In this episode, I explore a critical shift: moving from the Chain of Learning® to a Chain of Impact.Instead of treating continuous learning as something to acquire, I invite you to see learning as something to harvest—by making the value chain of impact explicit: turning insight into specific behaviors, practicing them deliberately through doing and reflection, and connecting that practice to the impact it creates for people and results. If you care deeply about learning, growth, and people—and want to build the capability to translate learning into action and impact—this episode will help you do exactly that.YOU'LL LEARNHow to recognize when learning feels productive but isn't changing how you actually show up as a leaderHow to make the connection between learning, behavior, and impact visible—and actionableWhy behaviors—not intentions, traits, or inspiration—are the real bridge between learning and resultsHow treating leadership actions as experiments helps you learn by doing and reflection, not just aiming for a targetWhy harvesting learning means finishing what's ready—not endlessly adding more ideas or initiativesIMPORTANT LINKS:Full episode show notes with links to other podcast episodes and resources: ChainOfLearning.com/65 Check out my website for resources and ways to work with me KBJAnderson.comDownload my free KATALYST™ Change Leader Self-Assessment: KBJAnderson.com/katalyst Learn more about my Japan Leadership Experience: kbjanderson.com/japantripTIMESTAMPS FOR THIS EPISODE:00:59 Why doing more is not mean progress02:13 The invisible trap of when we are focused on learning vs. putting it into practice02:27 Harvest - what it means and why it's a fitting word for 2026 05:04 The difference between learning and behavior in creating impact05:25 How to apply Intention = Heart + Direction® to close the execution gap07:40 Four key practices to take action on learning to impact your work and life 07:48 [ONE] Make the learning itself concrete and specific09:00 [TWO] Focus on specific observable behaviors, not traits that we want to develop10:48 [THREE] Identify the gap you want to close and identify what you expect to happen and the impact when you put the learning into practice11:42 [FOUR] Reflect and adjust for accelerated improvement12:49 Where intention stems from and why intention plus direction is important to see results13:54 How leaders turn into impact through the Immersive Japan Leadership Experience14:52 Three open ended questions for leaders to reflect on to create a clear action plan17:07 Josef's experience in shifting from being seen as an expert to a trusted partner18:06 Questions to ask to help break the telling habit21:12 How the meaning of “harvest” is focused on collaboration and creating the space for others to grow22:40 Reflection questions to reflect on to make an impact through your behaviorP.S. I'm joined by Josef Wagner, Senior Vice President of Food & Beverage at Resorts World Las Vegas, for a walk-and-talk look at how a modern integrated resort uses F&B to drive engagement beyond gaming. From rooftop mixology activations to food hall experimentation and live entertainment integration, this conversation shows how F&B becomes a strategic growth engine, not just an amenity. What stood out to me is how intentionally the team tests ideas before locking them in. Pop-ups act as real-time focus groups, allowing the guest — not a spreadsheet — to decide what stays. We cover:

Stijn Schmitz welcomes back Josef Schachter to the show. Josef Schachter is Founder, Schachter Asset Management Inc. The discussion centers on the current and future outlook for the global energy market, with a particular focus on oil and natural gas production and investment opportunities. Schachter presents a bullish perspective on the energy sector, forecasting a significant upward trajectory for oil prices. He predicts WTI oil prices will range from $52-$66 in Q1 2026, rising to $74-$84 in Q4, potentially reaching $100 per barrel by 2028-2029. This projection is underpinned by several key factors, including normal demand growth of 1.2-1.3 million barrels per day and constrained OPEC production capabilities. A critical aspect of Schachter’s thesis is the global lack of new oil discoveries and declining production rates. He highlights that shell oil production experiences 30-50% decline rates in the first year, necessitating continuous drilling. He notes, that over a billion people worldwide lack stable electricity access, presenting a significant future demand opportunity for energy resources. The conversation explores investment strategies within the energy sector, with Schachter recommending a diversified approach based on individual risk profiles. He suggests considering natural gas, light to medium gravity oil exposure, and service industry stocks. Notably, he emphasizes the importance of companies with strong balance sheets, insider ownership, and prudent management. Schachter is particularly optimistic about Canadian energy companies, many of which are currently trading at two to three times cash flow, with potential to expand to seven or eight times during a potential energy super cycle.
