(Featuring Jack and Aakash) A much needed catch up but also an in-depth discussion with two very instrumental friends of mine who were ringside at my first two professional wrestling matches. It is safe to say their support motivated me to continue training and the passion we had for the business was what kept us into the industry. We talked all things that we usually discussed during our college years. Topics ranging from top wrestling moments, things we would have done differently, dream matches and various other ideas. ————————————— #wwe #aew #tna #wcw #mondaynightwars #attitudeera #ecw #wrestling #wrestlingpodcast #talkisjericho #stonecoldpodcast #prowrestling #memes #podcast #radio #industry #news #gossip #wrestlingnews #backstagenews #bleacherreport #whatculture #cultaholic #wrestlenews #wrestletalk #tv #itv #sky #fox #espn

Please note: SPOILERS start at 39 minutes (well, really at 40, but at 39 we feature a clip from a vintage 1983 Return of the Jedi toy commercial, so maybe tune in to that, but we digress). So... we come to the end. Not THE end, but the end of this cycle, the finale of this series, the 'End Game' if you will... actually, come to think of it, it may not be the best idea to bring that up. But wait, you say: does this mean The Rise of Skywalker, the ninth movie in the office "Episode" series of George Lucas's once auteurist vision and now Disney "IP" is not up to snuff? How can we say that? R2 should give us a shock for that, right! Well.... Maybe listen and if you've seen the movie, let us know if you agree (but please don't hurt us, we have families, and pets, and maybe a droid or two) as we take a very deep dive into the JJ Abrams return to the franchise, the return of the characters we've come to know and love (sometimes), and see what C-3PO's farewell concert tour is like. Featuring Jack, "Wifely Duties" Korey, Andrew (yey Andrew!), and last but not least Special Guest (sorry DEATH STAR) Matthew Catania of the Matt the Catania blog (link below). Thanks for listening, and don't forget to check out the special Playlist on Soundcloud that features every episode over the past five years where we've discussed the series and various films and making-of books, too). Email: wagesofcinema@gmail.com Matthew Catania can be found at: https://mattthecatania.wordpress.com - clips include the trailer for the film, the 1983 toy commercial, and a piece from Red Letter Media's "No One's Ever Really Gone" parody.
We celebrate our tenth show with a brief history of bluegrass music and also talk about how annoying it is when you try to have a conversation with Steve during a practice session. (Featuring Jack.)

Feedback by Janus, Red Equity of the Golden Clause, on a term paper exploring the the emerging legal jurisdiction of the Quire System. Please Note: The grade you’ve received here reflects your successful ability to follow the assignment’s instructions, cite relevant academic and practical work, and build an argument supported by precedent. For that, you should be commended. But I am disappointed that you would take up this line of thought. As you’ve written politicians of certain persuasion point to moments of crisis, to freshly mapped worlds, to technological frontiers and say that the law does not apply in these places. That that those in power rule arbitrarily during these states of exception. But if you take one lesson from me or from this seminar, let it be this: There is no such thing as a lawless place or a time outside of jurisdiction. Deep below explicit legal precedent, unlisted in any codex, there lie unspoken rules by which society functions. They are fluid, yet bottled by the shape of culture. From the racist resolution of border-region land disputes to the public opinion pardoning of war criminals, a cultural paradigm of gestures and sensibilities guides action. The so-called “state of exception” is an alibi. If tyranny rises and the people of Quire do not stand to stop it, that is a not a sign of the oppressor’s strength, but a memorandum on the population’s capacity to love a despot. Jurisprudence simply follows suit. Fourteen Fifteen, you are a good student, and I hope you grow to understand our role in this system: We are as adjudicators on the verge. Our role is not simply to interpret the law as written, it is to translate attitude into index. And, in instances where indices are incomplete, to passionately propel the world towards justice.
