I can't sleep, I keep thinking about stories about James Allen, Sports Lodge Producer, and our two years working together at Angels Radio AM 830. I was laying in bed reflecting on memories, sound sheets, guests, laughs, and how much our years working side by side, the two of us, meant to me, and it took me a half-night to realize how many ways he affected me. I recorded 12 minutes. I meant for it to be 2. I'm hopeful it might make it out on the air on AM 830, as a suitable memory of the quickest thing that came to mind, although there are many more stories, as we watched sports, life, and the world's events transpire over 2 years directly working together, and 5 years at the station. I'm going to talk to my 200 high school students about him today, donated to the GoFundMe, also seeing CaringBridge page, and wanted to thank you (the listeners of Am 830, friends and family of James, and AM 830) all for the experience of working with him, and you. In so many ways I wish I had stayed, or could have returned again. He really was the Producer to the Stars, an deserves that nickname, and I'll be forever grateful for our times together working, even when they were challenging. Rest in peace to a big brother I never had. Thank you James. Danny Hauger

In a simple recording session, I reflected on some thoughts of appreciation and frustration, that melded together to create this song. Its just my wife and me, and she's not watching. My daughter's three, she knows nothing here. And it's the best way to traverse time, when a year can disappear. We'd hope to be back soon, on stages in Concord. On today's episode of Inspiring Teachers, I share an interview for my World History students with Annalise Bourgeois, Supporter Experience Senior Manager - Charity Water. Annalise and I discuss the importance of making an impact on the world, how 12.7 million people are getting access to clean water, at the time of recording, and Charity Water's focus on helping the world's people get clean water and all of the impacts along with it. How did you come to Charity Water, and when did you first learn about it? Did you know from the time you were in high school what you wanted to do with your life, or dedicate it towards an impact of service? Charity Water works in 29 countries, and has scaled significantly since inception in 2006. Your website says that while the water crisis is huge, we're optimistic. Can you tell me more about the vision and philosophy of the company? How does the lack of access to clean water affect people 785M people who still don't have access to clean water every day? In the context of my sophomore and Senior High School students, how might their lives be affected? Annalise talks more about how water access can fight poverty? For example from your website charitywater.org In Africa alone, women spend 40 billion hours a year walking for water. Access to clean water gives communities more time to grow food, earn an income, and go to school -- all of which fight poverty. Some classes may see students benefit from homework more than others. Danny Hauger switched to a 3-2-1 system in middle School and High School classrooms for Social Studies to better account for student achievement, success, time balance, and daily documentation of what was learned each day. In this video, Danny talks about how ditching daily homework benefitted his students and his relationships to studying history. It doesn’t mean doing less work, it just means doing more in class time. This process gets students working at the bell, saves them time for other work, social life, jobs, etc, and enable you to collect periodically for scoring or checking in with student progress and gives a great keepsake of the history that transpired all year long! Becky discusses the three sisters - beans, corn, squash, and her love of the outdoors. Becky joins us alongside Fidel Salamanca to discuss trees, gardening, grafting, and research in the field of botany and natural sciences. Fidel Salamanca has had a lot of success in backyard gardening. Fidel will be explaining the two types of grafting he is familiar with and has used: stick grafting and bud grafting. He has also prepared a sample of each to demonstrate how the grafts should look/fit together. Whether it be disease resistance, strength, or preferred qualities, grafting can be a neat way of experimenting. Fidel has created a wonderful variety of goods. So many teachers over this summer break have turned to gardening, indoor or outdoor, as a hobby, or something more. This is the case for our host, Danny Hauger, who never had shown interest in gardening before this time at home and shelter in place.
