Welcome to the Merry Month of Debts-cember!Part 2 - 8 Lazy Nights VI - On this week's show, because I just didn't have it in me to pull off another extended show, we're dialing it back with one of our shortest episodes of the year! 8 songs (one for each night of Chanukah) plus a bonus track to represent the starter candle. All this & much, much less! Debts No Honest Man Can Pay is over 2 rock-solid hours of musical eclectica & other noodle stories. The show started in 2003 at WHFR-FM (Dearborn, MI), moved to WGWG-FM (Boiling Springs, NC) in 2006 & Plaza Midwood Community Radio (Charlotte, NC) in 2012, with a brief pit-stop at WLFM-FM (Appleton, WI) in 2004.
Metalcore Band Breathe In Release New Single "Misfortune's Hand" + Official Music Video. The rising force in metalcore, Breathe In, released their electrifying new single “Misfortune's Hand”. Bridging the ferocity of American metalcore with the cinematic precision of Japanese metal and visual kei, the track delivers an immersive and sonically devastating experience that defines the band's signature Visual Metalcore sound. With “Misfortune's Hand,” Breathe In channels the intensity of Bad Omens and Orbit Culture, the visual grandeur of Black Veil Brides, and the artistic flair of Japanese legends The GazettE and Hyde. The result is a track that's both crushing and theatrical. Brian Kang shares, "For me, 'Misfortune's Hand' represents the continuation and confidence of our new/current lineup. Our last single was a reintroduction of our band (we went through a lineup change prior). This one is about carrying the baton forward. We wanted something instrumentally and lyrically intense to showcase our accelerating momentum." The music video, available on YouTube, was directed by the band's drummer, Paul Illge Jr. His in-house production crew, who have collectively worked across the film industry with various professional credits, serve as the creative backbone behind all of Breathe In's visual projects. The video was shot in Brooklyn, NY, bringing the band's artistic vision to life. “Misfortune's Hand” is now available on all major streaming platforms. Hailing from the heart of the tri-state, Breathe In brings together raw talents from New Jersey, Brooklyn, and Philly. Fusing the aggressive edge of American metal with the precision and artistry of Japanese metal, their sound is as cinematic as it is intense, built to leave a mark both visually and sonically. Formed by five seasoned musicians who have weathered the ever-shifting tides of the music industry, Breathe In is united by a shared mission to bring an intense, sonic experience like no other. The band is made up of vocalist Shola Aurora, guitarists Brian Kang & Topeng, bassist Rob Gnarly, and drummer Paul Illge Jr. Subscribe to The Adventures of Pipeman for PERKS, BONUS Content & FREE GIVEWAYS! The descendants of the tribe of Gad include groups such as the Goths, and they spread into many lands, including Spain, Italy, Sweden, and eventually the Americas. Many of the tribes that were considered barbarians ultimately became Christians and propagators of the Gospel. Voice Of GO(r)D welcomes back to the show Mr Wez, aka Obsidian Blackbird, who has adopted the Nom de plume Latimer Redlance for his autobiographical first crack at a book. From the Amazon purchase link description -Gutter to the Stars: Memories of a Post-Grunge Drifter is a raw and unflinching memoir that captures a life lived on the edge of three decades and three countries. From the freezing Gulf Islands of 1980s Canada, to the rugged bush of 1990s rural New Zealand, and finally to the chaotic streets of early 2000s Sydney, these stories trace the restless journey of a Gen-X drifter searching for meaning, belonging, and fire.Told with the grit of a bar-room confession and the honesty of a midnight conversation, this book is both a time capsule and a time machine. For those who came of age in the late twentieth century, it offers a nostalgic return to the music, the wild nights, and the restless energy of a generation caught between rebellion and survival. For younger readers, it is an invitation to witness the raw spirit of a life burned bright and lived without compromise. The book has also been featured here on Substack's very own book store -https://buybooks.substack.com/p/from-ryan-gosling-to-the-gutterLatimer has written something rare: a true underground memoir that feels like a cross between Fear and Loathing, On the Road, and the diary of a kid who survived the 80s and 90s with nothing but stubbornness, luck, and rage. This is the anti-Eat-Pray-Love, the antidote to polished, pseudo-philosophical memoir fluff. It's messy, honest, grungy, real. And holy hell, it's entertaining. And just like Wez' first time on the podcast, his second go round with me shows us the sense of humor he has developed over a life wildly lived by grabbing those short and curlies and giving it everything he's got.In case you missed his first appearance on Voice Of GO(r)D -https://autonomoustruckers.substack.com/p/post-grunge-drifting-with-wez-akaWe went hard for a little over two hours, and Wez takes us back to the beginning, where we come to find out the early seed plantings of adversity, and certain types of deprivation at a very young and tender age, did sprout into the journey that is his life. He pulls no punches on the realities of that adversity, family dysfunction, a certain type of economic deprivation, and the salvation found on the road out of it all.If you enjoy this conversation, you will LOVE the book - go get yourself a copy.Speaking of books - presales are open for my examination of the fate of the North American trucker in Foul Year of our Lord 2025 -End of The Road - Inside The War on TruckersReaders in America can pre-order a copy directly from my publisherhttps://creedandculture.com/books/end-of-the-road-inside-the-war-on-truckers/And because governments and their postal services around the world are, like everyone else these days, busy keeping the working man poor, unfortunately your best bet outside of America is Amazon -https://www.amazon.com/End-Road-Inside-War-Truckers/dp/1967613028/For everyone in the Northern Hemisphere - we've just started another long cold winter, why not cozy up next to the fire with a hot cuppa and two brand new books from some of the best mouthpieces of Substack?Questions, comments, suggestions, corrections and Hate Mail are welcomed and Strongly Encouraged - gordilocks@protonmail.com

In this episode we welcome not one but two wonderful guests to RBP Towers. Susan Compo and Derek Ridgers have been trans-Atlantic pals for decades and first met on a FourFourTwo assignment to interview and photograph the L.A.-expats "soccer" team Hollywood United. Starting with Susan's punk years in Southern California, we hear about her memories of seeing the Sex Pistols live in Dallas and Tulsa in January 1978. She also talks about her trip to London the year before, prompting Derek's recall of the punk scene he began photographing at clubs such as Vortex and the Roxy. Derek then rewinds his story to his late '60s days at Ealing School of Art when fellow student Freddie Mercury nicked his girlfriend in a local pub. The conversation oscillates between Susan's reflections on her career move – from music journalism to short stories about star-crossed Goths – and Derek's memories of the New Romantic "movement" he documented so brilliantly in early '80s London. In between clips from John Tobler's 1984 audio interview with Spandau Ballet singer Tony Hadley, Derek talks about his approach to his chosen medium. After touching on Derek's years at Loaded magazine and Susan's terrific books about Warren Oates and David Bowie, we discuss our shared passion for football/"soccer" before paying tribute to Derek's former NME colleague Jack Barron. Jasper then talks us out with quotes from newly-added library pieces about Grandmaster Flash (2000) and Boy George (2024). Many thanks to special guests Susan Compo and Derek Ridgers. Susan's books, include Malingering and David Bowie and The Man Who Fell To Earth are available from all good bookshops. You can visit Derek's website at derekridgers.com and his latest book, Hello, I Love You, is published by IDEA. Pieces discussed: The Sex Pistols Shoot To The Top, The Cure: Happily Ever After, White Noise/White Sands: The Bowie Who Fell to Earth, Gary Kemp on the RBP podcast, New Romantics, Electro-Disco: Night Moves, Spandau Ballet's Tony Hadley audio, Jack Barron, Nick Cave: The Needle And The Damage Done, The Stone Roses: Bliss This House, Gregory Isaacs: Gregorian Rants, Gong: The Gong Remains The Same, The Adventures of Grandmaster Flash in the Game of Life and Boy George.

Mia Goth mesmerizes on screen in Guillermo del Toro's latest work, Frankenstein. On Skip Intro, Goth talks about what it was like to receive a phone call from the Oscar-winning writer/director, and the unscripted, magical moments that took place onscreen with the Creature — played by her co-star Jacob Elordi. The X actor also shares how she overcame her fear of insects to play Elizabeth Frankenstein, what it's like filming Star Wars while taking care of her 3-year-old, and the fork-in-the-road decision that led her to where she is now. Thursday, November 27: Girls Beer Sports Goth Tart by FiredUp Network
In this episode, we talk shoes and beer and has the market for both taken a significant down turn. College football season is winding down, but there are still games to be played including the Pop Tarts bowl, which has upped its game again. Is giving students free beer at a football game a good idea or nah? A Jello mold to turn anything into canberry sauce, KFC gravy flight, moist cake swag, a bottle for your leftover gravy and more!

Side One: In a lonely Seattle Coffee House, self-confessed melancholic "Goth grrl" Snow White (Valina Cutler) muses on the different types of sadness, her step-mom's attempts to kill her, and the horrendous noise made by seven atonal dwarfs attempting to sing. Side Two: Surrounded by cats who aren't quite what they seem, the Evil Queen (Sally Wiget), a bitchy old star whose glamour has long since faded, talks about her fear of looking in the mirror, the art of deceit, and how magick is the answer to absolutely everything, darling. Chasing Tone - Guitar Podcast About Gear, Effects, Amps and Tone
Brian, Blake, and Richard are back for Episode 592 of the Chasing Tone Podcast - What's happening to the price of US guitars, the rise of the robots, and Brian's goth phase Blake has a wallet bursting conundrum as not one but two of his favorite bands are on the same bill and he needs help which Brian and Richard are more than happy to not give. Richard bores Brian to near death with Pink Floyd related updates and then talks about his new old music discoveries. Richard has AI based concerns and he expresses them via the medium of terrible analogies. Brian is not convinced that he is right but there is a business idea and a possible confession. The horrors persist for Richard as he discusses a brand new release from Gibson and Brian taunts him with emojis. There are some language barriers that need to be broken down and there is much confusion. Marshall have released an amp in conjunction with Spinal Tap and Brian ponders the possibilities of an infinitely loud amplifier. Send us a Question!MOVIE DISCUSSION: Shirleon joins Melvin to discuss Death Note: The Last Name, a sequel to 2006's Japanese live-action adaptation, Death Note, that released 3-months later. The two look at the film as a unit with its predecessor, its successes as a stand-alone sequel, and compare it to the anime (as well as the Western Netflix adaptation).Topics:(PATREON EXCLUSIVE) 26-minutes discussing "Evil AI is Boring Now - Which is Kind of Scary", a think piece from James Hibberd on The Hollywood Reporter, and wondering what makes AI/AGI movies interesting, or not, in 2025. (PATREON EXCLUSIVE)How Death Note: The Last Name truncates the the latter-half of the source material, reordering some things and altering others outright, works pretty well.Shirleon enjoyed seeing the Death Note story unfold in a new, better-handled manner. It helped her better understand what she likes about the overall narrative. If these adaptations are missing anything, it's the monologues.Melvin wonders why a "Set in the world of Death Note" anthology movie or series hasn't been created, and he elevator-pitches five ideas that could be explored.Talking about the recurrent line "Sacrifices are necessary.".Melvin felt the ending satisfied the main thematic beats of its source material. Shirleon feels different.Recommendations:Alien: Earth (2025) (TV Series)Terminator 2: Judgement Day (1991) (Movie)Support the showSupport on Patreon for Unique Perks! Adrien SkyeTake a walk with me down Fascination Street as I get to know Adrien Skye. Adrien is a brand new artist jumping on the scene with her debut E.P. called "The Gothspel of Adrien Skye". In this episode, we get to know Adrien, where she grew up, and how that influenced her decision to move to Los Angeles to begin her music career. She shares stories of her struggles of faith and spirituality on her journey to discovering herself, some of her musical & lyrical inspirations, and what it actually means to find herself. We touch on organized religion, a personal relationship with GOD, and introspection. Adrien's debut E.P "The Gothspel of Adrien Skye" is also the debut artist release for CiFi Records. Previously, CiFi Records has only released music under a single artist; the company founder, Corey Feldman. Naturally, I ask how she was discovered by Feldman, and Corey even pops on the episode to answer a question or two and help clarify a detail or two. Corey not only produced this record, but he is also responsible for some of the instrumentation, as well as providing additional vocals. They both generously give me permission to play my favorite track from the debut album. 'Circus Queen' is the lead single from the record, and it is a banger! I enjoy this album quite a bit, and it's varied musical stylings give us a glimpse into some of the different directions Adrien might delve into on some of her future projects. From the church worship team in small town North Carolina, to Lady Gaga, Ariana Grande, to Limp Bizkit and goth inspired gospel; this interview really shines a light on who she is, and why the 'Gothspell of Adrien Skye' is not only her introduction to the world, but even to herself. Check out her music everywhere you find music digitally and keep an eye on AdrienSkye.com for more about her, the new record, and all of the cool stuff on the way!

Haunted by the legacy of his superstar father and by an old family curse, Brandon Lee tried to outrun the past. But the past came after him all the same. It was said that his father, Bruce Lee, was taken by that family curse at just 32 years old, and that it then followed Brandon to the set of The Crow, a cross between a superhero blockbuster and a brooding art film that was all goth. The shoot was plagued by injury, electrocution, storms, fires, and car crashes – and culminated in tragedy when a prop gun fired a real bullet.
