Adrien SkyeTake a walk with me down Fascination Street as I get to know Adrien Skye. Adrien is a brand new artist jumping on the scene with her debut E.P. called "The Gothspel of Adrien Skye". In this episode, we get to know Adrien, where she grew up, and how that influenced her decision to move to Los Angeles to begin her music career. She shares stories of her struggles of faith and spirituality on her journey to discovering herself, some of her musical & lyrical inspirations, and what it actually means to find herself. We touch on organized religion, a personal relationship with GOD, and introspection. Adrien's debut E.P "The Gothspel of Adrien Skye" is also the debut artist release for CiFi Records. Previously, CiFi Records has only released music under a single artist; the company founder, Corey Feldman. Naturally, I ask how she was discovered by Feldman, and Corey even pops on the episode to answer a question or two and help clarify a detail or two. Corey not only produced this record, but he is also responsible for some of the instrumentation, as well as providing additional vocals. They both generously give me permission to play my favorite track from the debut album. 'Circus Queen' is the lead single from the record, and it is a banger! I enjoy this album quite a bit, and it's varied musical stylings give us a glimpse into some of the different directions Adrien might delve into on some of her future projects. From the church worship team in small town North Carolina, to Lady Gaga, Ariana Grande, to Limp Bizkit and goth inspired gospel; this interview really shines a light on who she is, and why the 'Gothspell of Adrien Skye' is not only her introduction to the world, but even to herself. It's time to visit the misspent youth of the team, hurtling back to 1998 for Jake West's “Razor Blade Smile”. A film that shows that a coffin can make a lovely centrepiece gun rack in any bedroom; highlights that vampires are the only ones not showing off their fangs at a Goth club; and bravely needle drops “Bela Lugosi's Dead” like “The Hunger” just didn't happen. Razor Blade Smile made something of a splash when it came out - a flashy/trashy horror with camp laughs, nudity, gore and an icon in the form of Eileen Daly's rubber cat-suited vampire assassin, it felt utterly different to anything else emerging from the doldrums of the British film industry. Made on a shoestring budget, but never aiming for anything less than spectacle; time hasn't necessarily been too kind to it visually, although ironically it's the (then) state of the art computer generated imagery that has dated the worst. More importantly; it's shoot-outs and fetish wear aesthetic predates both The Matrix and Underworld franchises. Whilst some minor roles may feature less than stellar acting, the main cast are giving their all, with Daly cementing her place as a British scream queen, and a genuinely brilliant turn from Christopher Adamson as the villain. Watch (or re-watch) to avoid spoilers and join us.

Stories of the undead tormenting the living supposedly entered the English-speaking world in 1732, with a report from the Hapsburg military of events in Serbia—events that would go on to inspire the most famous vampire of all, Dracula. But the count from Transylvania was neither the first undead man in England (British corpses went walking in 680, and again in 1090) nor the most emblematic of the folk tales that preceded him (that would be Carmilla, who embodies a type seen from China to the Eastern Roman Empire). Des premières cathédrales à la série à succès Wednesday, le Louvre-Lens explore jusqu'au 26 janvier 2026 plus de mille ans d'histoire et d'esthétiques. L'exposition s'intitule « Gothiques », tant ce mouvement, né au XIIe siècle en France, revêt différents atours. « Cette exposition gothique au Louvre-Lens a la particularité de proposer un voyage à travers 1000 ans d'histoire », précise la directrice du musée, Annabelle Ténèze. Elle nous propose de traverser ce que peut-être la vie gothique, aussi bien au Moyen Âge, jusqu'à la contre-culture goth. Pour résumer, de Notre-Dame de Paris à Gotham City, la ville de Batman. Ce voyage dans le temps et l'espace commence en 1 140 par l'architecture et la sculpture. Parmi les quelque 250 œuvres, dessins, peintures, vitraux ou même musique, on trouve beaucoup de sculptures médiévales extrêmement raffinées. Le conseiller scientifique de l'exposition, Florent Meunier, conservateur en chef du patrimoine au musée du Louvre, nous présente une pièce d'exception.« C'est le moulage du Tentateur de la cathédrale de Bâle, donc un canton Suisse actuel. Derrière le moulage, il y a des animaux venimeux, des serpents, des crapauds. Alors de face, par contre, c'est un homme qui essaie de séduire. Il a enlevé un gant, c'est extrêmement intéressant », raconte-t-il. Le gothique révolutionne l'architecture des églises, et pourtant, le terme « gothique » est, à l'origine, péjoratif. C'est même une insulte lâchée par les artistes de la Renaissance. « Les contemporains du gothique ne lui donnent pas un nom et au XVIe siècle, Raphaël, Castiglione, Vasari, mais aussi Rabelais pour la France, se mettent à appeler l'art du Moyen Âge "gothique", c'est-à-dire aussi barbare que l'art des Goths et des Vandales, qui avaient détruit Rome au Ve siècle », explique Annabelle Ténèze.  Le retour en grâce du gothique Au XIXe siècle, avec la rénovation de Notre-Dame ou la mode des romans gothiques anglais, le style revient en grâce et impose une nouvelle esthétique, qui se diffuse jusqu'à nos jours. Le Louvre-Lens expose des œuvres contemporaines, comme une sorte de cathédrale bulldozer de métal conçue par le Belge Wim Delvoye, ou un tryptique, réalisé par la jeune artiste, Agathe Pitié. « Une œuvre qui s'appelle "Le sac de Rome par les Goths". Au lieu que ce soit les Goths, le peuple contre les Romains, ce sont les gothiques de la contre-culture. On retrouve dans mon travail des éléments d'architecture gothique, des stars de la contre-culture, mais aussi une référence au Moyen Âge gothique avec un trait rappelant l'enluminure médiévale », précise Agathe Pitié.  Et à l'heure actuelle, entre le succès du concert de Mylène Farmer, Nevermore, et celui de la série Wednesday de Tim Burton sur Netflix, le gothique a encore de beaux jours devant lui. Mia Goth is the latest actor shedding a bit of light on the long-shelved Blade movie from Marvel Studios. In an interview with Elle, promoting her upcoming appearance in Guillermo del Toro's Frankenstein, Goth shared only that she is still attached to the film and commented that “It's for the best that it's taken the time it has. They want to do it right.” This is in line with Kevin Feige's comments this summer that the film is still moving forward.In an interview with the AP this week, Adam Driver dropped some major information about the Ben Solo movie in Star Wars that never was. Driver explained that Lucasfilm was interested in continuing his character's story in a film that had a script written by Steven Soderbergh. Driver was supportive of the script and the creative team took it to Bob Iger and Alan Bergman at Disney who turned the project down as they “didn't see how Ben Solo was alive.” Fan favorites Amber Midthunder and Walton Goggins will star in a new action movie from the creator of the John Wick franchise. The film, called Painter, has a major executive producer credit - with Avatar and Titanic director James Cameron serving in that role. Haunted by the legacy of his superstar father and by an old family curse, Brandon Lee tried to outrun the past. But the past came after him all the same. It was said that his father, Bruce Lee, was taken by that family curse at just 32 years old, and that it then followed Brandon to the set of The Crow, a cross between a superhero blockbuster and a brooding art film that was all goth. The shoot was plagued by injury, electrocution, storms, fires, and car crashes – and culminated in tragedy when a prop gun fired a real bullet.
