POPULARITY
VICTOR WAINWRIGHT & THE TRAIN features the high-octane boogie piano and big soul sounds of vocalist and blues man Victor Wainwright, backed by one of the tightest smokin' bands on the scene. Victor's star is definitely on the rise, having won the coveted BB KING Entertainer of the Year in 2016 at Blues Music Award as well as “Pinetop Perkins Piano Player of the Year” in both 2013 and 2014. With the release of ‘Boom Town', the band's latest record, they're poised to ignite blues/roots fans with a sound that's infectious and impossible to ignore. BIRDS OF CHICAGO is a collective built around husband and wife duo JT Nero (Chicago, IL) and Allison Russell (Montreal, QC). Since forming in 2012, they've toured internationally 10+ months of the year. Their brand of rock and roll poetry can be a little hard to categorize, for people that insist on categorizing... their voices are undoubtedly the centerpiece - Nero's fractured country soul croon is wrapped in Russell's silver and gold tones for a harmony blend that is like nothing else in music today. ‘Real Midnight' is the band's poignant new Joe Henry produced album. WoodSongs Kid: Mikaya Taylor is talented bluegrass singer from Lawrenceburg, Kentucky. This 12 year old is being called ”Kentucky's Singing Angel.”

A two-time Pinetop Perkins Piano Player of the Year, the Memphis-based singer/songwriter talks about his brand new album, he talks of the recent passing of B.B. King and how the two of them – while playing on the same bills together – shared a love of flying planes, and Wainwright tells of the formula that allows him to play three times as many shows a year. All that plus other insights from this maker of blues, roots music, and boogie woogie.
GREENSKY BLUEGRASS is earning recognition nationwide as a growing force in bluegrass and acoustic roots music. This Michigan band won the 2006 Telluride Bluegrass Festival Band Competition. As newcomers to the bluegrass scene, the three sought to define themselves within the framework of their bluegrass favorites while establishing a voice of their own, drawing upon an array of influences and varied musical backgrounds. Greensky Bluegrass is touring in support of their recently released fourth album, "Five Interstates." EDEN BRENT is a masterful blues pianist and vocal stylist. Her piano playing and singing style ranges from a melancholic whisper to a full-blown juke joint holler. This Mississippi Delta native is a three-time blues music award winner when she won the 2011 Pinetop Perkins Piano Player of the Year. Her acclaimed album "Mississippi Number One" on Yellow Dog Records is a tribute to her home on Mississippi State Highway 1.
