Hebrews 11:5-6
Coming off two weeks of post-Easter reflections on Ephesians 1:15-23 [Resurrection Realities, Part 1 (Sunday April 14) and Part 2 (Sunday April 21), available on our Facebook page] we turn our attention to Psalm 16 which connects with and elaborates on some of the themes we saw in Ephesians, namely the blessings available to us at the right hand of God. Like David, may we come to know the truth of Psalm 16:11 - "in your presence there is fullness of joy, at your right hand are pleasures forevermore!"

Celebrate the triumph of life over death as we recount the stirring tale of Jesus Christ's resurrection, an event that has echoed through the ages to offer hope and a new beginning. This joyous Easter, we illuminate the Gospel of Mark's narrative, where the astonishment and awe of Mary Magdalene and others at the empty tomb spring to life. With an angel proclaiming Jesus' victory, the foundation of Christianity is laid bare for all to see. This episode isn't just a recount; it's an invitation to witness the undeniable evidence and transformative power that the resurrection promises for your own journey. As we navigate through history, the explosive growth of the Christian movement post-resurrection presents itself not as a mere coincidence, but as a testament to a truth that could not be silenced. The meticulous naming of eyewitnesses, the surprising inclusion of women as key witnesses, and the disciples' own initial disbelief lend weighty authenticity to the narrative. This isn't just about faith; it's about historical evidence that challenges even the modern skeptic. Prepare to engage with an event that, despite its miraculous nature, stands as a pivotal historical fact. Finally, we wrap our exploration by considering the boundless grace and forgiveness that Jesus' resurrection symbolizes, an offer extended to all, including the doubting Peter. This story of redemption encourages us to reset our lives, to live fearlessly and with purpose, to become beacons of the good news. As we delve into the heart of the Christian message, we invite listeners to not only comprehend but also exemplify the living truth of Jesus Christ, risen and present, transforming lives and offering eternal hope. Join us on this episode as we affirm our commitment to this pivotal truth and its power to reshape our very existence.Video available at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XfI49rjQZ00

Death is an unpleasant topic for most people. For many, there is uncertainty and fear of death. Even many in the church don't like to think or speak of death. The resurrection of Jesus from the dead should change all that for all whose hope is only in Him. This Easter Sunday we turned to 1 Corinthians 15 to see the realities of the resurrection.

The Apostle Paul once said that if Jesus had not ben raised from the dead, then Christians are to be most pitied. This Easter, as we celebrate the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, Phil Shaw opens the word of God and reminds us that the reality of the Resurrection should result in a total shift in our lives, our core values and our desires, just as it did for the first disciples. Not to be missed!
Luke 20:27-40: "There came to him some Sadducees, those who deny that there is a resurrection, 28and they asked him a question, saying, "Teacher, Moses wrote for us that if a man's brother dies, having a wife but no children, the man must take the widow and raise up offspring for his brother. 29Now there were seven brothers. The first took a wife, and died without children. 30And the second 31and the third took her, and likewise all seven left no children and died. 32Afterward the woman also died. 33In the resurrection, therefore, whose wife will the woman be? For the seven had her as wife." 34And Jesus said to them, "The sons of this age marry and are given in marriage, 35but those who are considered worthy to attain to that age and to the resurrection from the dead neither marry nor are given in marriage, 36for they cannot die anymore, because they are equal to angels and are sons of God, being sons of the resurrection. 37But that the dead are raised, even Moses showed, in the passage about the bush, where he calls the Lord the God of Abraham and the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob. 38Now he is not God of the dead, but of the living, for all live to him." 39Then some of the scribes answered, "Teacher, you have spoken well." 40For they no longer dared to ask him any question."
