Iain McDonald concluded our series ‘The Most Excellent Way' looking at the future resurrection and the final victory of Jesus (1 Corinthians 15). He ended with this poignant quote from C.T. Studd: ‘Only one life, twill soon be past, only what's done for Christ will last.'
Paul argues that if Christ has not been raised from the dead, our faith is futile, and we are still in our sins. Without Christ's physical resurrection, there's no victory over sin and death, leaving us without hope. For those who have died in Christ, their faith would be in vain. Paul insists that the resurrection is essential because it confirms Jesus' victory and ensures our future resurrection, making our faith meaningful and our hope secure.
Why should we labour for something that is ultimately vanity? The harvest is plentiful and the workers are few, yet we still have the privilege of harvesting wherever we are placed.
What will happen to the living when Christ returns? This is the final question Paul addresses in his masterful presentation on the resurrection of the body. In addition to his comments on the transformation of the living, Paul concludes with notes of victory and admonitions to all believers.----------------------------Please follow us on these platforms:Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/@JointhesearchTikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@jointhesearchInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/jointhesearchtodayFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/jointhesearchtoday
What will the resurrection body be like? That is essentially the question the apostle Paul addressed in this section of 1 Corinthians 15. One truth about the resurrection must be asserted: the body which dies is the body that will come back to life and be transformed. Let's see how Paul describes this wonderful event.----------------------------Please follow us on these platforms:Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/@JointhesearchTikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@jointhesearchInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/jointhesearchtodayFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/jointhesearchtoday
One of the most mysterious phrases in Paul's letters is the expression: "baptized for the dead" (1 Cor 15:29). While there is considerable uncertainty about the meaning of baptism for the dead, the function this verse serves as part of Paul's broader discourse about the resurrection helps considerably in narrowing down the interpretive options. Let's consider together then what baptism for the dead could be and how it fits into 1 Corinthians 15.----------------------------Please follow us on these platforms:Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/@JointhesearchTikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@jointhesearchInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/jointhesearchtodayFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/jointhesearchtoday
What did Paul mean when he referred to Jesus as "the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep" (1 Cor 15:20)? Furthermore, what did Paul believe about the reign of Christ and His eventual return? This section, which is at the heart of Paul's resurrection discourse, addresses some of the most important truth claims about Jesus in all of Paul's writings.----------------------------Please follow us on these platforms:Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/@JointhesearchTikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@jointhesearchInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/jointhesearchtodayFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/jointhesearchtoday

How confident can Christians be about the claim that Jesus was raised from the dead? While Paul's discussion in 1 Corinthians was not designed to prove such a claim, he does offer some helpful pieces of evidence which support why he and others were so confident that Christ is risen. Even the Corinthians who were skeptical about resurrection had been convinced of Christ's own resurrection from the dead.----------------------------Please follow us on these platforms:Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/@JointhesearchTikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@jointhesearchInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/jointhesearchtodayFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/jointhesearchtoday
Paul begins his important discussion about the resurrection by reminding the Corinthians of what they had come to believe about Jesus. This reminder will act as the launching point for Paul's larger discussion about the future, general resurrection of the bodies of all those who belong to Christ.----------------------------Please follow us on these platforms:Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/@JointhesearchTikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@jointhesearchInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/jointhesearchtodayFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/jointhesearchtoday
The Christian hope is that our future resurrection will not just change our outward appearance; it will change the world around us and the inner reality of who we are and what we are. The ordering of our disordered desires. And that change is beginning even now.

Jesus rose from the dead and became the firstfruits of our resurrection. Yes, we too will one day be resurrected. A right understanding of this motivates the Christian toward fruitful and vibrant ministry. A misunderstanding or unawareness of this hinders fruitfulness in ministry. 3/31/24 Sunday Morning Message
A message from 1 Corinthians 15.
Paul's vision of resurrection, continued from yesterday's portion of this passge, gives a little more detail about how he sees resurrection happening. Perhaps the Corinthians needed more details. Paul uses the analogy of a seed, because death brings about a new kind of life very different from the seed. Resurrection will certainly bring about a very different life, as we follow Jesus even to that.
Resurrection might seem like an idea too wild to build a faith on, but it is that very supernatural event that gives Christianity its unique flavor. Not only that Jesus rose from the dead, but that he did so as a preview of our own future. God came to bring us to where God is, and resurrection is the way in which we will all get there.
