This week the gals wanted to bring you something a little lighter after the intensity of last week's episode! So we present to you the story of a fight over who was the rightful owner of a mummified leg found in a used grill. Jeepers Creepers! What would you do if you bought a second hand grill at an auction, opened it up, and found a mummified leg in it? Would you throw it away? Call the police? Keep it?! Well keep it is just what one man named Shannon Whisnant did. When he found the mummified remains of a stranger's leg in a grill that he purchased, he figured this could be his ticket to fame. He had always imagined his name in lights and he believed that being known as "the foot man" was going to take him to stardom. The only problem was that the rightful owner of said leg, John Wood, wanted it back because his mummified leg meant a great deal to him, for his own personal reasons. A legal battle ensued, and a documentary called Finders Keepers was made about the saga. This episode is primarily based around that documentary and we highly recommend it!Play the new and improved version of "Fucked Up Bingo" with us for a chance to win a FREE month of Patreon! Shannon Whisnant bought an abandoned storage locker, and found a human foot inside. John Wood came forward and was like, "Um, hey, that's my foot, can I have it back please?" But Shannon liked the foot, and didn't want to give it back. He bought it fair and square, damn it! That's how the most bizarro (and hilarious) legal battle began - two men fighting over a LITERAL MUMMIFIED FOOT. Who is the rightful owner in the end? When local entrepreneur Shannon Whisnant purchased a grill the last thing he expected was to find a human leg. Fearing it may belong to a dismembered body he contacted law enforcement but soon changed his tune when the owner of the leg, John Wood came looking to claim his leg back. This documentary follows the impact of that day on the two men from when they first met in a parking lot, to their court battle and beyond. Finders Keepers has surprisingly vulnerable moments but is over all light hearted and easy to watch
Hello, Lovelies! What does John Wood decide to do after his leg has to be amputated from the knee down because of an airplane accident? Why, keep the leg of course! But, through a series of unfortunate events, his leg gets stored in a smoker and placed in a storage unit. When payments fall behind the unit gets sold to the highest bidder, Shannon Whisnant. When Wood hears of this, he obviously wants his leg back. The pair face off in a battle to claim custody of the leg as they each try to stay one step in front of the other, a dispute that's eventually settled by the infamous Judge Mathis. Surprised? We were too. Join us as Ashley tells us about this incredible tale (THAT ACTUALLY HAPPENED) that was covered in the documentary "Finders Keepers" and Rebecca makes really, really, bad foot puns. You Guys, I Swear to God this is what this movie is about…. In 2004, John Wood had his left leg amputated after a single-engine plane crash that left him badly injured. He somehow convinced the doctors to let him keep the leg (!!!!!), he mummified it—yes MUMMIFIED IT—and eventually put it in a storage locker. In 2007 Shannon Whisnant unwittingly bought the leg when he purchased the contents of John’s storage locker after months of unpaid rent. Shannon—who should have been horrified—saw the leg as a money-making opportunity. He branded himself “The Leg Man” and tried to turn the leg into a tourist attraction. After learning what had become of his leg (HIS LEG, YOU GUYS), John decided to try to get it back. And the most ridiculous and disgusting custody battle the world has ever known was born.
