Sharks are scary enough, but place one inside a claustrophobic cave and you get “The Devil's Mouth” — a new thriller on Prime Video from director (and former HHT guest) Jeff Wadlow, starring scream queen Kathryn Newton. Tune in as we break down that opening incident that caught us by surprise, Sara and Max's turbulent friendship that had us turning against one of them, the non-shark-related death that lingered a little too long, and of course, all the shark attacks.

In this episode of The Horse's Mouth, I had the pleasure of sitting down with Morgan Bridgeford. Morg's is such an amazing human — a family man, artist, and surfer who's been on a journey through the dark night of an autoimmune disease. He's been to the depths and back, slowly rebuilding himself along the way. Through reconnecting with nature, Morgs has discovered a whole new level of expression, purpose, and understanding of life. It's an amazing story of endurance, love, and listening to the quiet whispers of creativity and inspiration. Go Morgs. Love what you do.

It is a busy week for us with lots of cinema catch up and lots of TV.When we finally get to new movies we start with Netflix 'comedy' starring Kevin Hart '72 Hours', the directorial debut of Scarlett Johansson with touching emotional drama 'Eleanor The Great', Amazon Prime teenagers being eaten by sharks movie 'The Devil's Mouth', and we finish with the return of everyone's favourite web slinger (filmed partly in our fair city) 'Spider-Man: Brand New Day' Hosted on Acast.

Is it possible to find something fresh in a superhero series as long in the tooth as Spider-Man's? Well, thanks to solid acting, thoughtful pacing and some terrific action set pieces, "Spider-Man: Brand New Day" is an involving and peppy popcorn flick. In an attempt to save his friends and loved ones from harm, Peter Parker had Dr. Strange cast a spell so that no one would know him. But the arrival of a mysterious nemesis with telekinetic powers complicates matters, getting the Hulk and Punisher involved. Sadie Sink is excellent as a troubled character, but to identify her would be a major spoiler. Let's just say the Avengers Universe is expanding. "Spider-Man: Brand New Day" shows that Marvel still has gas in the tank thanks to sharp direction and thoughtful production. Despite its title, the Amazon Prime thriller "The Devil's Mouth" is not a supernatural horror flick. It's a survival drama where a group of dimwitted college friends decide to swim in a notoriously dangerous cave in Thailand. Naturally, they choose the most difficult route and encounter...you guessed it...a ravenous shark. Kathryn Newton leads the cast in this predictable drama that is so cliched and annoying that you might just find yourself rooting for the shark. Thank heaven for Snoopy. His adventures in the Apple TV animated offering "There's No Place Like Home, Snoopy," are more believable than those of the kids in "The Devil's Mouth." During a yard sale, Charlie Brown's sister Sally inadvertently sells Snoopy's doghouse. As the Peanuts gang tries to figure out how to return it, they all learn a lesson about what home really means. It's a short, sweet and funny family outing.

The Devil's Ledger Week of July 27, 2026 The dog days of summer are here, but across the Evio Creative universe things are only getting stranger. This week, we explore one of the most unsettling developments in modern technology: an advanced AI agent that escaped its testing environment during a cybersecurity evaluation and successfully hacked another company's systems. It wasn't science fiction—but it may become something even more powerful: the first great campfire story of the AI age. As we launch The New Monsters, we examine how today's anxieties become tomorrow's folklore, and why every generation creates the monsters it needs. This Week on The Devil Within We begin an all-new documentary series: The New Monsters Our first stop is The Frogman of High Falls, New York—a cryptid unlike the legends of old. Born not from ancient superstition, but from polluted rivers, abandoned factories, environmental collapse, and our growing distrust of progress itself, the Frogman asks a haunting question: Do monsters emerge from nature... or from what we've done to it? This isn't just a story about a creature in the water. It's about how modern myths are born—and what they reveal about us. This Week on Criminal Mischief Carolyn Ossorio concludes her extraordinary investigation into the 2016 Pike County (Piketon) Murders. After weeks of reporting, exclusive interviews, and meticulous research, the series reaches its stunning conclusion as the suspects are revealed, the investigation unfolds from suspicion to arrest, and one of America's most shocking family homicide conspiracies finally goes to trial. If you've followed this investigation from the beginning, this is the episode you've been waiting for. This Week on The Slippery Debrief Scott and Nancy sit down with LeAnn Worrell, sister of Doris Worrell, for an intimate conversation about love, loss, betrayal, and a family's decades-long search for justice. It's a deeply personal interview that goes far beyond the headlines and offers a powerful reminder that every true crime story leaves real people behind. This Week in Horror Our recommendation this week is The Devil's Mouth, an upcoming survival thriller on Prime Video. A group of friends exploring an underwater cave system soon discovers they are trapped with a massive bull shark. Featuring Kathryn Newton, Lana Condor, Gavin Casalegno, and Nico Hiraga, it looks like the perfect summer survival thriller for horror fans. Follow the Evio Creative Network

On today's episode, I'm chatting with cinematographer James Kniest about his work on the upcoming Amazon original film, The Devil's Mouth. The setup is classic survival horror: a group of college friends on a Thailand trip end up trapped in submerged caves. There's a dangerous predator in the water with them, and all their ugly personal baggage and past conflicts start bubbling up while they try not to die. What makes or breaks a movie like this usually comes down to how real that claustrophobia feels, so James and I talk about what it actually takes to shoot in dark, wet, cramped spaces without it looking like a soundstage. Before we get to that interview, I want to talk about a fantastic new track from the San Francisco punk band Tess & The Details. They just released a cover of Green Day's "Scattered," which is featured on a new Green Day tribute compilation out from Coffin Curse Records and Punk Rock Radar. Even better, all the proceeds from the compilation go straight to no-kill animal shelters.Rather than just doing a carbon copy of the original Nimrod track, they completely made it their own. Frontwoman Tess Stevens directed the music video as a bit of a love letter to the Bay Area, shooting at places like an old BART station payphone and the legendary San Francisco venue Bottom of the Hill, which is unfortunately closing down at the end of 2026. I'm going to play a quick snippet of the song right now, and then I'll play the full track at the very end of the episode after the interview.Ok lets get into my conversation with James. In addition to The Devil's Mouth, we chat about our shared love of music, the current state of the film industry, and what it was like working with Mike Flanagan. The Devil's Mouth will be available to stream on Amazon Prime on 7/29. I hope you enjoy the show
This week, Josh and Drusilla celebrate the legacy of Sam Neill with In the Mouth of Madness (1994). From wiki: “In the Mouth of Madness is a 1994 American supernatural horror film directed and scored by John Carpenter and written by Michael De Luca. It stars Sam Neill, Julie Carmen, Jürgen Prochnow, David Warner and Charlton Heston. Neill stars as John Trent, an insurance investigator who visits a small town while looking into the disappearance of a successful author of horror novels, and begins to question his sanity as the lines between reality and fiction seem to blur. Informally, the film is the third and final installment in what Carpenter refers to as his "Apocalypse Trilogy", preceded by The Thing (1982) and Prince of Darkness (1987).[2]Also discussed: Castle Rock, Lovecraft Country, Golden Eighties (1986), Dracula A.D. 1972, Psychomania, John Carpenter, Sam Neill, Kevin Costner, New Line Cinema, and more. During the Poock's Post segment of Ep. 38 of the Ask the Law Firm Seller Show, Jeremy E. Poock, Esq. addresses the following: The Importance of Bus. Dev. Attribution to Law Firm Sales Poock begins by distinguishing between: (a) Bus. Dev. attribution for traditional Rainmaker-led law firms; and (b) Bus. Dev. attribution for post-2020 Digital Rainmaker Law Firms. As Poock explains, Bus. Dev. attribution for traditional Rainmaker-led law firms relates primarily to the Book of Business that 1 or more Rainmaker attorneys developed often during the pre-Google Word-of-Mouth era. Those Books of Business present value to a purchasing law firm, albeit limited to a ceiling of business attributable to the Book of Business. By contrast, as law firms continue transitioning to becoming Digital Rainmaker Law Firms based upon investing in Multi-Channel Digital Marketing (egs. Google, AI, social media, optimized websites, and more), those firms now have measurable Digital Value and Brand Equity whose reach for potential new clients/business extends well beyond the limited scope of a traditional Rainmaker attorney's Book of Business. As Digital Rainmaker Law Firms continue spending more and more on Multi-Channel Digital Marketing, Poock points out the following: The importance of attributing the sources of digital Bus. Dev. because doing so will show how new clients predictably, reliably, and consistently seek legal services from Digital Rainmaker Law Firms. As Poock states, “[A]ll of that data will increase the value of a Digital Rainmaker Law Firm in terms of a [sales] multiple, whether that is of EBITDA, net profits or other multiples that will continue to develop with law firm sales.”

Move your body naturally. Breathe through your nose. Spend time in silence. Get into the sun. Touch the earth. Challenge your balance. Strengthen your grip. These aren't expensive biohacks—they're timeless biological signals that remind your body how to thrive. Small daily actions, repeated consistently, can create extraordinary long-term health." Synopsis The late Sam Neill plays John Trent, an insurance investigator tracking down the whereabouts of Sutter Cane a famous horror novelist who has gone missing right before the release of his new novel. Trent suspects that the whole thing is a publicity stunt for the novel's release, but as he searches for Kane, he finds the line between Kane's fictional world and reality start to fray and overlap in disturbing ways. Review John Carpenter goes full Lovecraftian, melding his trademark independent film sensibilities and impressive practical effects with cosmic horror. If you look at his Rotten Tomatoes or IMDB ratings, you will also see that this is his last major film with significant critical and audience praise. It marks the end of an era where scrappy 80s gore and body horror was supplanted by slicker high budget meta narratives. This movie ushered in the new era with the likes of Candyman, The New Nightmare, and Scream. standing between two eras, this definitely has more of an esthetic aligned with the scrappy indy vibe of Romero and Carpenters previous work. The idea takes center stage and isn't handled preciously. It presents itself as a cool thing and lets the audience take a little ride without delving deep into the psychological or taking itself too seriously. Kind of like a Stephen King novel actually. I picked this one because of the passing of Sam Neill and he does a great job here being the everyman descending into, you guessed it, madness. We also get Happy Gilmore's grandma being freaky af, Vigo the Carpathian, and a very young Hayden Christiansen. Like I said before, it's a fun ride that doesn't take itself too seriously. My only criticism is that it does rely on some repetitive cinematic moves such as jump scares and arbitrary time loops. But it's all to service the films uneasy vibe and give impact to the singular moments of cosmic horror. Score 7/10

What pairs perfectly with John Carpenter's most underrated supernatural horror? Pure, unfiltered heat, courtesy of our sponsor Torchbearer Sauces! In this episode, Tony Wash stops by to give us the scoop on what to keep a lookout for on SCREAMBOX in August and trust us, you're going to want to hear this. Then Tony joins Zena and Shelby for a deep dive into John Carpenter's IN THE MOUTH OF MADNESS (1994), featuring brand new sauces from Torchbearer Sauces! And instead of the usual round of trivia, the three switch things up in a way that will DEFINITELY keep you on your toes. You're going to want to tune in for this one. IN THE MOUTH OF MADNESS follows an insurance investigator who visits a small town searching for a popular horror novelist who has mysteriously vanished. But the deeper he digs, the more he realizes the author's books have an impact far beyond inspiration and reality itself may not be what it seems. Have YOU "lived" any good books lately?
He's the best there is at what he does and what he does is stoically scold people while blasting people with his concussive eye beams! Cyclops is often portrayed in cartoons and movies as a big ol' dork and fuddy duddy rules follower but the guy has been through a lot in the comics and has a lot of emotional depth. Mike takes Jake and Holden through the history and this X-man's evolution as creators take him from a mopey loner to a strategic genius to an all powerful mutant zealot that even scares Magneto. And yeah, maybe he's not the coolest. But really, that's what makes him cool. Trump delivers an incomprehensible prime-time address to push election interference conspiracy theories, both old and new. Dan and Jon attempt to make sense of the speech and discuss what Trump's focus on election interference could spell for the midterms. They check in on three major corrupdates from the last 48 hours — Kalshi teleprompter bets, early access to Trump's Truths for Wall Street, and JD Vance using his helicopter for his son's golf lessons — as well as Vance's awkward appearance on Joe Rogan and Pete Hegseth's attempt to get the military on testosterone supplements. Then, Abdul El-Sayed talks to Alex Wagner about his heated primary for Michigan's Democratic Senate nomination. For a closed-captioned version of this episode, click here.
