Pastors in expensive cities often cannot afford stable housing on ministry salaries. That financial pressure quietly threatens their ability to serve. If you want to see your faith show up in practical, tangible ways at work and with your money, this episode gives you a real example of what that looks like. Key Discussion Points Nicole explains how the Aslan Housing Foundation builds down payment assistance programs for pastors, using church investors, donor-advised funds, and self-directed IRAs to fund stable housing without competing with the church's general giving. She describes a core operating value: do nothing about staff without staff. Surveys go out to both church leadership and pastoral staff before any housing strategy is built, so the people with the actual need have a voice in the solution. Nicole unpacks what she calls a triple bottom line for investors: market-rate financial returns, a stabilized ministry, and a more secure pastor and family. She talks about how she brings her faith into secular professional settings without forcing it, including sending a simple email to a real estate team in Hawaii during flooding to let them know she was praying for their safety. She and host Addison Williams discuss how Christians in any profession hold two marketplace roles: what they do with their time at work and what they do with their money outside of it. About the Guest Nicole Marie Bergeron is the founder and CEO of Aslan Housing Foundation, a California-based nonprofit that helps churches develop housing strategies for their pastoral staff. She holds a joint degree in law and public policy and spent two decades in philanthropy and social impact work before launching Aslan in 2018. Her background gives her a systems-level view of a problem most church leaders have never named out loud. It's very appropriate that one of our cohosts has a show called Cartoon Dumpster cause boy did we pull some rotten stuff out of it this week. And Gargoyles. Gargoyles is cool. Maybe cause they're not animals. Cats, dogs, cows, dinosaurs, mice, ducks, dinosaurs again, sharks.. They gave every animal muscles and a 'tude but it wasn't enough. There really must be a secret in the ooze that makes the turtles work that no toy company was able to replicate including the guys that made the turtles! This show is one for the ages...specifically people who were the ages of 5-14 in the 1990s. And if you weren't, this episode will make you very proud of that fact. Want even more Nerd of Mouth? Folks, when the summertime gets a'kickin round these parts, sometimes it's TOUGH to get a pod in. But we did it, this time another classic duo of Bob and Jeff. We get it DONE with all things Philadelphia sports.First up - the Phillies as we begin to assess their "defects" as it were. Some issues with our high priced, long term contracts with aging players. But sure, we can all point at Turner and say UGH...and Nola as well. However this squad can still mash (see this weekend's dominating series win against the Mets), and it's still June! Why do they always say "it's still..." in baseball? No matter what month it is?Then we hop headlong into the Flyers and their trade of Ersson and Andrae. Got a good haul in return from the Leafs, in Woll and Benoit. Let's get gassed up for another playoff run boys! I already miss watchng the Flyers, don't you?And to end it we must give props to the Knicks, as painful as that might be. They got it done. BUZZSAW.Email: hoagiemouthpod@gmail.comIG: @hoagiemouthpod

Do you read Sutter Cane? Really? Name three albums! Sorry? He's a fictional novelist who is in contact with the Elder Gods who wish to retake the Earth and subject us to their dark dominion? Someone should make a movie about that. They did?! It's called IN THE MOUTH OF MADNESS, and it's a stone-cold John Carpenter classic that we're covering this week with the help of TikTok's own Mandi Bossard! Along the way, we dig into the extremely Hollywood backstory of the script, explore what Sutter Cane's actual pathway to a Second Coming is, consider the astronomical cigarette budget for the movie, and dig into whether we're watching the movie or if we're watching the movie-within-the-movie! All this, plus Poison bassists, woman-written-by-man, spoil Backrooms hallways, H.P. Lovecraft roasts, ball-and-chains, and a very tentacle-filled edition of Choose Your Own Deathventure! Move It With Your Mouth | Marcus De La Cruz | June 7, 2026| Sunday 10AM | Porterville, CA
Ken and Lima break down an interview with Brendan Sorsby's agent Ron Slavin, who argues the gambling incidents happened when Sorsby was 18, never compromised the integrity of the game, and that the media wildly overreacted. Ken isn't buying the full narrative, pointing out the contradiction between Sorsby seeking gambling addiction treatment while his agent now downplays any ongoing problem. The guys debate whether the agent's explanation would move the needle for an NFL team considering a supplemental draft pick, with Ken admitting the interview actually makes him feel worse about Sorsby, not better. More damaging audio from the agent is teased for the next segment.

He's HAD IT with people only attributing their success to the favorable expansion draft. And Moser's HAD IT with Kelly McCrimmon.

Anne Rice, RDH, BS, has spent more than 35 years as a clinical dental hygienist — and the last several years working at the intersection of oral health and Alzheimer's prevention. In this live conversation recorded at ADHA's Integrated Care Summit 2026, Anne joins host Matt Crespin to talk about why reducing oral inflammation is a direct act of brain health protection, how blood pressure is a non-negotiable clinical data point, and what hygienists can say chairside to connect the dots for patients. She also makes the case for why dental hygienists need to start showing up in medical spaces — and stop waiting to be invited. Welcome to Day 2883 of Wisdom-Trek. Thank you for joining me. This is Guthrie Chamberlain, Your Guide to Wisdom. Day 2883 – Wisdom Nuggets – Psalm 135:15-21 Daily Wisdom Wisdom-Trek Podcast Script - Day 2883 Welcome to Wisdom-Trek with Gramps! I am Guthrie Chamberlain, and we are on Day 2883 of our Trek. The Purpose of Wisdom-Trek is to create a legacy of wisdom, to seek out discernment and insights, and to boldly grow where few have chosen to grow before. The title for today's Wisdom-Trek is: The Silent Idols and the Living King of Zion In our previous stop along this grand, poetic landscape, we explored the powerful, historical midsection of Psalm One Hundred Thirty-Five, verses eight through fourteen. We watched the temple liturgy transform into a dramatic victory march through time. We looked back at how Yahweh systematically dismantled the greatest earthly empires, and broke the power of the dark spiritual principalities operating behind the scenes. We stood in awe as the Divine Warrior shattered the gods of Egypt, and slaughtered the terrifying giant rebel kings, Sihon of the Amorites, and Og of Bashan, who ruled over the demonic stronghold of the underworld gates. We celebrated the truth that Yahweh vindicates His people, and pours out His fierce, fatherly compassion upon His treasured heritage. Today, we have arrived at the magnificent, soaring finale of this great temple hymn. We are completing our journey through Psalm One Hundred Thirty-Five, by exploring verses fifteen through twenty-one, in the New Living Translation. The psalmist shifts his strategy one final time. He has already proven Yahweh's supremacy over nature, and His absolute dominance over history. Now, he launches a devastating, mocking, and highly sarcastic assault against the very nature of the gods worshiped by the surrounding nations. He forces the congregation to confront the ultimate, ridiculous contrast between a living, speaking, and history-shaping Creator, and the dead, manufactured metal status symbols of the rebel powers. Let us step onto the trail, open our minds, and listen to the final verdict of the cosmic courtroom. The first segment is: The Pathetic Anatomy of Manufactured Gods Psalm One Hundred Thirty-Five: verses fifteen, sixteen, and seventeen. The idols of the nations are merely things of silver and gold, shaped by human hands. They have mouths but cannot speak, and eyes but cannot see. They have ears but cannot hear, and mouths but cannot breathe. The final indictment begins with a brutally honest, reductionist look at the objects of pagan devotion. “The idols of the nations are merely things of silver and gold, shaped by human hands. They have mouths but cannot speak, and eyes but cannot see. They have ears but cannot hear, and mouths but cannot breathe.” To fully unlock the brilliant sarcasm, and the intense spiritual warfare embedded in these three verses, we must look through the lens of the Ancient Israelite divine council worldview, as masterfully taught by Doctor Michael S. Heiser. In the ancient Near East, the surrounding pagan nations did not believe their gods were only pieces of wood or metal. They knew the statues were made by craftsmen. However, they practiced a highly elaborate, mystical ritual known as the "Washing of the Mouth," or the "Opening of the Mouth." Through these esoteric ceremonies, pagan priests believed they could enchant the physical statue, prompting a territorial spiritual entity—a rebel elohim of the divine council—to actually come down, inhabit the metal image, and animate it. The idol was viewed as a localized, physical conduit for a supernatural power. The pagans believed that through these animated statues, their gods could look at their sacrifices, hear their prayers, and speak prophetic directions over their empires. The psalmist stands in the courts of Yahweh, looks at these highly intimidating, gold-plated cultural icons, and completely exposes them as a cosmic fraud. He strips away the mystical propaganda, and mocks the absolute helplessness of the material. He says, “Look closer at these terrifying gods of Babylon, Egypt, and Canaan. What are they, really? Strip away the smoke and mirrors, and they are merely static pieces of silver and gold. They are completely dependent upon the very humans who built them. If a human hand didn't shape them, they wouldn't even exist!” He then executes a brilliant, sensory takedown of their anatomy. He catalogs their organs, matching them against their total lack of functionality. “They have beautifully carved mouths, yes, but they are utterly mute. They cannot speak a single word of comfort, or declare a single true prophecy. They have glistening, jeweled eyes, but they are completely blind. They cannot see the suffering of their followers, or perceive the movements of history. They have elaborate ears, but they are totally deaf to the cries of the oppressed. They have a second mouth carved on their faces, but there is absolutely no ruach—no breath of life, no spirit—inside their lungs.” This is a devastating, logical checkmate. In the ancient world, breath was the defining evidence of life. Yahweh is the self-existent, living God who breathed the breath of life into the nostrils of humanity, and who effortlessly controls the winds of the cosmos. But the gods of the nations are spiritually suffocating. They are paralyzed, inanimate prisoners trapped inside their own expensive silver and gold armor. Why would an intelligent, eternal human being bow down to a physical object that possesses less vitality than a common insect? The second segment is: The Ontological Decay of the Idolater Psalm One Hundred Thirty-Five: verse eighteen. And those who make idols are just like them, as are all who trust in them. Having exposed the pathetic nature of the false gods, the psalmist delivers a chilling, psychological, and spiritual law of human nature. “And those who make idols are just like them, as are all who trust in them.” This is one of the most profound, terrifying warnings in the entire Old Testament. It outlines the law of spiritual assimilation: you will inevitably become just like the object of your ultimate alignment. You cannot give your worship, your devotion, and your deepest trust to a specific spiritual system without taking on the ontological characteristics of that system. In the biblical worldview, human beings were uniquely created to be the tselem—the physical images and reflections—of the living God, Yahweh. We were designed to mirror His life, His speaking truth, His clear-seeing justice, and His active compassion into the physical realm. But when a human being turns away from the Creator, and locks their loyalty onto the dead, manufactured systems of the rebel principalities, a horrific process of spiritual deformation begins. The psalmist is saying, “If you trust in a mute, blind, deaf, and breathless god, your own soul will slowly become mute, blind, deaf, and breathless.” The craftsmen who forge these idols, and the cultures that depend upon them, suffer a catastrophic degradation of their humanity. They lose their spiritual perception. They develop mouths, but they can no longer speak words of true wisdom or justice. They have eyes, but they become entirely blind to the cosmic reality of God's sovereignty. They have ears, but they become totally deaf to the warnings of divine judgment. They become spiritually dead, hollowed out, and as lifeless as the silver and gold statues they worship. To worship a fraud is to transform your own life into a permanent illusion. The Third segment is: The Unified Anthem of the True Council Psalm One Hundred Thirty-Five: verses nineteen and twenty. O family of Israel, praise the Lord! O family of Aaron, praise the Lord! O family of Levi, praise the Lord! All you who fear the Lord, praise the Lord! In stark, brilliant contrast to the silent, suffocating isolation of the idolaters, the psalmist turns back to the vibrant, living congregation of Zion. He organizes the assembly into concentric circles of roaring, unified praise, calling upon each sacred order to testify against the darkness. “O family of Israel, praise the Lord! O family of Aaron, praise the Lord! O family of Levi, praise the Lord! All you who fear the Lord, praise the Lord!” Notice the beautiful, structured hierarchy of this liturgical call. He begins with the widest circle of covenant identity: the “family of Israel.” This is the entire nation, the collective segullah—the private, prized treasure of Yahweh. They are commanded to raise their voices to boast in the God who physically pulled them out of the jaws of Egypt. Then,...
CCEF's second distinctive states: "Scripture comes from the mouth of God." But what does that mean for everyday ministry, counseling, and relationships? In this episode, Gunner Gundersen is joined by Jonathan Holmes and Aaron Sironi to discuss how God's Word does more than provide answers—it shapes the way we listen, care, pray, discern, and walk alongside others. Together they explore how Scripture forms our priorities in counseling, helps us understand people, and serves as the lens through which we interpret both life and the world around us. The conversation also considers the richness of Scripture's many genres—from the Psalms and Wisdom Literature to the Gospels and Song of Songs—and how each uniquely equips us to care for others. Along the way, they reflect on parenting, marriage counseling, personal devotional life, and the indispensable role of Scripture in the life of the local church. In this episode, we sit down with Dr. Gene Sambataro, a biological dentist with over 40 years of experience, to explore how oral health is deeply connected to whole-body health. He explains how issues in the mouth—such as microbiome imbalance, mercury fillings, fluoride exposure, and toxic root canals—can contribute to systemic disease and chronic inflammation. The conversation dives into airway-focused dentistry, including narrow jaws, TMJ dysfunction, teeth grinding, Malampati scores, and how these factors relate to sleep-disordered breathing and conditions like sleep apnea. Dr. Sambataro also breaks down modern diagnostic tools like 3D cone beam imaging and sleep studies, along with practical approaches such as oral appliances, breathing techniques, and addressing hypoxia. He closes by emphasizing critical thinking in health care, the importance of restoring proper breathing during sleep, and integrating advanced regenerative and biohacking tools into dentistry for long-term wellness.Dr. Gene Sambataro has been practicing dentistry for over 40 years with a focus on orthodontics, dental orthopedics, TMJ disorders, sleep-disordered breathing, cosmetic/facial aesthetics, toxic-free dentistry, and ceramic implantology. He graduated from the University of Maryland School of Dentistry in 1980, completed a hospital residency in Baltimore, and transitioned into private practice where he quickly adopted a more holistic, integrative approach to dentistry. He is a leading advocate of biological dentistry, emphasizing the connection between oral health and systemic disease and promoting toxin-free approaches such as avoiding mercury amalgams, fluoride, and toxic root canals. He trained with Dr. Hal Huggins early in his career and continues to follow the Huggins Protocol in his clinical practice. His professional affiliations include multiple dental and integrative medicine organizations, along with training in sleep medicine and TMJ therapies, and he is also an author and ongoing student of advanced scientific and regenerative fields. Outside of dentistry, he incorporates biohacking and healing technologies into his practice, has been married for 45 years to his wife Cindy, while also holding advanced martial arts black belts in Taijitsu and Ninjitsu.SHOW NOTES:0:38 Welcome to the show!3:13 About Dr. Sambataro4:02 Welcome him to the podcast!5:28 Does high blood pressure start in the mouth?7:13 Issues with mouthwash9:31 Root causes of a poor microbiome13:47 Specialized medicine & Oral Physicians18:08 How the mouth is a window into the body20:02 Narrow jaw & crowded teeth21:23 Teeth grinding & appliances23:59 Malampati scores24:30 3D Cone Beam 26:30 Solutions for airway issues30:35 Cone Beam 101 & Why you would get one35:47 Sleep studies43:40 Sleep-disordered breathing48:27 Health risks of hypoxia & sleep apnea49:45 What to do with “moderate” issues54:39 Breathing techniques for sleep apnea57:42 Garage analogy59:12 Vitamin O1:00:33 Critical thinking & AI1:05:55 His final piece of advice1:07:32 The Julian Center 1:08:20 Thanks for tuning in!RESOURCES:Website: The Julian CenterIG: @julian_dentistIG: @drgenesambataroFacebook: The Julian CenterBook: Stop the SnoreBook: Your Guide to Holistic Dental ImplantsSupport this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/biohacker-babes-podcast/donationsAdvertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brands

Peak Performance Coach Brian Bosley sits down with ENT surgeon and sleep medicine specialist Dr. Steven Park, author of *Sleep Interrupted*, for a grounded look at why so many modern adults struggle with snoring, reflux, fragmented sleep, and that frustrating 3 AM wake up.We dig into Park's core claim that “modern faces” often develop smaller jaws and narrower airways thanks to softer diets, less chewing, and early-life factors like reduced breastfeeding. From there, we get practical fast: why nasal breathing matters for sleep and endurance (including the role of nitric oxide), how late-night eating can drive reflux and nighttime arousals, and why blue light and screens can suppress melatonin at the exact time your body needs it most.We also cover overlooked problems like upper airway resistance syndrome (UARS), why some sleep studies miss real fatigue, and simple experiments you can try at home like nasal strips, safer mouth taping approaches, and tongue exercises or myofunctional therapy (including the Airway Gym app). Then we zoom out to Park's upcoming book *Health Interrupted* and his holistic framework connecting light, food, movement, stress, airway health, and meaning.Subscribe for more conversations like this, share the episode with a friend who “sleeps but never feels rested,” and leave a rating and review so more people can find the show.Support the showhttps://bamboolab3.com/
