Adam Beckerink was sentenced to 93 days in jail for a 2024 domestic violence incident in Berrien County, Michigan in which he grabbed his wife's cell phone as she tried to call 911. Caitlin Tracey was found dead at the bottom of the stairwell of Beckerink's luxury condo building in Chicago a little more than two months later in October 2024. He has now pleaded no contest to the Michigan charges as the investigation into Caitlin's death continues. Severed ties was originally called "Army". Which is the kind of pun that works way better once you've already seen the movie. So Severed Ties it became. The specific ties being severed are limbs. They then grow back with a magic serum. Plus, they're evil and kill people. Matt and Tristan talk about one of 1992's best killer limb movie, Severed Ties.

This week we talked to a legendary figure in the world of 'Severance' props and set dec. We've got "Penko the Sculptor"!!Penko's last name, Platikinov, is a bit of a mouthful. Rather than say it incorrectly, the folks around the 'Severance' set have gone to referring to this incredibly talented man as "Penko the Sculptor".  This is also a succint description of what he does around here. If it's a thing that's a little off...like say the Irv-head melon, or the statue of Kier in the town square...Penko probably had something to do with it. Penko is the 'anti-CGI' guy. Much of what he does I have attributed to CGI throughout my re-watch of the show. Nope! Those amazing visual tricks...like a dead seal carcass along the path, or a big statue in the town square...are all practical effects. Penko is that good. He's creating things you would believe were CGI if you didn't know any better. You're gonna love this guy! Hit 'play' Refiner! WE'RE BACK TO THE RE-WATCH THIS WEEK, REFINER!!Interviews are fun, and we love talking to the folks who make 'Severance' so incredible, but, we should never forget, this podcast was built on insanely detailed rewatches!! This week we are getting back into the S2 complete 'Severed' Re-watch with PART ONE of "Sweet Vitriol."We have not heard or seen anything from Harmony Cobel since her very scary parking lot run-in with Helena Eagan and her gorilla of a driver in the episode "Who is Alive?" Guess what??!! Harmony made the trip to Salt's Neck! In this episode, we catch up with her out on the road. She's headed back to where she grew up. She's needing some things she left at home back when she was whisked away to be a star at the Myrtle Eagan School for Girls. This time out we meet up with Hampton at the Drippy Pot. He's one of Cobel's oldest and dearest friends. He's also in the grip of a massive ether addiction, much like the rest of this tiny and dilapidated town. Oh, and if you're in need of ether, Hampton can set you up. As Sissy calls him, he's a 'huff peddler.'Oh, yeah...Sissy. We're going to meet Harmony's Aunt Celestine 'Sissy' Cobel. She's Harmony's mother Charlotte's sister. Sissy does NOT have a warm spot in her heart for Harmony, Hampton or this backwards little town on the seashore where she feels trapped by her beliefs.
